This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really great overall, though I preferred the first one. The animation was just as good as the original, as was the voice cast, script, direction and music. I loved the Spot, he was a much more effective villain than Kingpin and probably my favourite character in the film overall, managing to strike a great balance between being humorous and being threatening. I also really liked Miguel, Spider-Man India and Peter B Parker. Lots of great easter eggs and references as well.

As for weaknesses, I thought the sound mixing made dialogue quite hard to hear, and the animation, while beautiful, was a bit too frenetic to follow during fight scenes, though neither of these were a deal breaker. My biggest issue with the film is its plot, which is a substantial downgrade compared to the first. Putting aside that most of it is just set-up and exposition for the next film, resulting in pacing issues and flabbiness compared to the much tighter plot of the first film, how the film handles the "canon" concept is a complete misunderstanding of Spider-Man as a character. It was especially egregious to see Peter essentially refer to Uncle Ben as a necessary sacrifice. There is just no way Peter, or any other Spider-Man, would just stand aside and let people die. They would try and save everyone, and even if they failed, they would try again, and again, until they succeeded. Miles was the only one to act in character on that point, which is pretty eye-rolling. If your plot requires you to character assassinate most of your main cast in order for it to work, it needs a re-think, and if the whole canon aspect turns out to be nonsense in the third film (as I suspect it will), then all but one of the Spider-Men in the multiverse have been made accessories to murder. Abysmal.

Still, as I said, overall, the ride was very enjoyable, despite the plot issues. I'm looking forward to the final instalment, hopefully it will address some of the problems here.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Your favourite heroes are complicit murderers. What? You didn't care for Miles before and only wanted to see the original Spider-Man? Too bad, Peter Parker and all of the other Spider Death Cult members now argue why leaving innocent people, including your father or friend, to die is actually a good thing. No character assassination on a mass scale to be found here. Thank goodness Miles didn't ask if Peter would let his infant daughter die for LE CANON otherwise the audience might have caught on that this premise for these characters is all kinds of stupid. All you need is good animation by crunched artists to convince a Spiderverse audience of your masterpiece. Don't think about how Captain Stacy never died because he got burried under rubble trying to save a child in The Amazing Spider-Man movies. It makes total sense that Spot is creating canon events in the indian Spider-Man world despite being an anomaly, stop thinking. Miles never blew up or damaged his own universe despite being an anomaly but you're just a nitpicker for complaining about how the main narrative and conflict does not make a single ounce of sense. Just get carried by the hollow theme which constantly makes up new strawmen to justify its own narrative. Everyone is just a-ok with murder until Miles, the bestest Spider-Man of them all, comes in to show them that murder even complicit ones your fascist leader told you is fine, is in fact not good. Ben Reilly is a meme character and not a precious good boy in this movie. Twitter told me that is unforgivable. Peter might let his own daughter die because hey the future sometimes also has good things in store but we have to look at the real issues. That **** character from the Clone Saga who died a billion times and became a villain as many times as well was a meme in Across the Spiderverse. Poor Spider-Man fans. We only like real characters like stereotype anime Spider-Man or Nig Cage Reddit Spider-Man who totally are like their comicbook counterparts.

Boy oh howdy am I glad there is none of that patented MCU Humor in the film. We only get the best jokes: "He kicked his OWN LE BUTT xD" or "Can you be my mommy?". Classic stuff. No memes or tone deaf humor in this film. I heckin' love Across the Spider-Verse. I love it when 100 artists leave the film's production because it's hell despite criticising capitalism and exploitation through jokes inside your plot. I love that my favourite characters argue why killing your loved one by ignoring your origin is cool. That is true spirit of Spider-Man. Spider-Man fans are so smart.

WhetherI didn't think much of the predecessor to this animated wonder and therefore I didn't carry sky-high expectations. And yet, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is about as close as you can get to seeing a comic book coming to life. Whether it's movies or series.
This is far above any Spider-Man series ever made.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse deals with multiple universes and yet its greatest achievement is having an identity that makes it its own universe. Even with the cameos and the several easter eggs from other Spider-Man movies.

This has achieved a pulsating and vibrant life and spirit that makes it probably the best movie ever made about Spider-Man to date. Maybe it's the emotion talking but honestly what I saw here far surpasses Maguire's trilogy, Garfield dilogy and Holland's trilogy. It's that good.

The animation is a portentous masterpiece. There is so much to unravel in all the styles and colors displayed on screen that I was truly enraptured. And the music. Daniel Pemberton music was outstanding.
I was amazed with the whole thing.

I won't tell you more. See it for yourselves. Believe the hype.

It's been a few hours since I've seen this and I'm still left wondering: HOW DID THEY PULL IT OFF???

A movie like this does NOT come around often, if at all. They could have easily done a retread of the first film and I would have been happy. But NO. Instead I got a thoughtful, mature and at times morally bleak experience that I'm nearly shocked got a PG-rating.

Pro tip to Hollywood: get Phil Lord and Chris Miller to work on everything that you wrongfully assume you can pull off.

Animation is cinema.

Maybe that will change, but as of now, it's slightly below the first. The animation is the best of any animated movie every, which I think is almost a no-brainer. It truly is a work of art. While there weren't as many jokes, as it was taking itself more serious, when it was trying to be funny, it was hilarious. I think what truly stuck out to me though, was the emotion. It was slower paced, yet it felt like it when by so quickly! You could really take in all the emotion. I might as well just stop here. Like the first, it feels disingenuous to describe this movie using words. When you watch it, you will know exactly what i'm talking about! What are you doing here?! Go watch it already!! Expand

No or little political messages, eye melting visuals and a good story. This movie delves deep into themes of destiny and fate, how flaws and bad things improve people, and many more. The new characters added fit the spider verse feel and aren't over bearing. The only complaint I have is that some of the characters in the first movie were sidelined. The characters are great and I enjoy, but the old characters, specifically Penny, Noir-Spider, and Porker don't have any significant screen time. However Miles and Gwens story and character arcs are further fleshed out with some really hard hitting moments. The jokes are well-placed and not too much. I never felt like I was drowning in unfunny jokes, and most of them hit. The action was top notch the same impactful level as the last. I went with my family and everyone agreed that it was really good. This movie is a must see, better than anything Disey has put out in ten years. Expand

2 - May Parker - fofa.
3 - É um daqueles filmes que posso ficar a beijar a minha namorada, pois o filme não merece atenção.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall, I liked this movie. Giving it a 6 only because of the cop out ending. The aesthetics and animations were absolutely stunning. They really took it to the next level in that regard. Solid character development throughout. Soundtrack was solid again. The only two complaints I have are as follows: 1) Plot - The plot did not have as much consistency as I would have liked. They claim that changing stories or preventing certain things from happening could destroy an entire universe due to it "messing up the cannon" of the world. Yet they go around from universe to universe with no issue messing up all kinds of things and cannon. So you can't let one guy die, but can have someone not named Peter Parker be Spiderman and that's totally okay? It made no sense to me. 2) The to be continued ending... That was a serious gut punch to me. I paid for a full movie from start to finish. This reeked of a cash grab to me. Easily could've wrapped up this entire plot with an extra 20 minutes of runtime or so. Now I guess I have to wait another 5 years to see how this finishes? I will not remember everything by then, and I hate rewarding movies that do this with my money so I may not actually go see the follow up. If you're okay with cliff hanger endings I recommend this movie. It's better than 95% of new content out there. I just wish the plot was a bit better. Expand

This movie trades in a lot of the originals substance to create a young man's coming of age story, which means it's full of drama. The style and story telling (along with some good laughs) carry it through to create an excellent experience. The real issue with this movie other than being extra sappy, is honestly how uncontained the story seems. It's a long movie that doesn't really end, this is either due to the fact that they knew there was always going to be another movie or because they were trying to keep the run time down. This causes the movie to need another film to finish the tale, which the first one never needed. Expand

Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse is without a doubt one of if not the best Spider-Man films I've ever seen in recent memory and dare I say surpass both it's predecessor and No Way Home. The first thing that immediately springs to mind asSpider-Man: Across the Spider Verse is without a doubt one of if not the best Spider-Man films I've ever seen in recent memory and dare I say surpass both it's predecessor and No Way Home. The first thing that immediately springs to mind as to what makes this movie a masterpiece is that it took what made the first movie work and dialed it all up to 11 and never letted go of that in even the slightest and it properly implemented fan service into the story properly better than No Way Home ever did. The first thing on what I mean about that is how the main things I loved about the first movie were the characters, complex story moments, color palettes, soundtrack, and Easter eggs. Firstly, the characters old and new are phenomenal with their complex story arcs and moments in the spotlight and it leaves you hanging on who to root for in the end when you think about both sides of the story, there's so many more art styles and color palettes and they are utilized so well that it becomes a genuine treat to look at, I didn't ever think they could ever improve on the soundtrack from the first movie but those people somehow went ahead and did that with so many new tracks fitting appropriately into the action and silent moments, the fan service is properly utilized here by making it connect to the story here and it feels understandable unlike No Way Home, finally of course, the Easter Eggs here are simply phenomenal and have so many more moments to showcase themselves and it's always satisfying to spot them when rewatching the film. Overall, this movie is what happens when you have people who love your source material enough to commit to it 100% and I cannot both recommend this film enough and get ready for the last film. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. We are lucky to live in a world where the spider verse series was created, the ONLY downside is the amount of events that go down in the final 10 minutes to have a "to be continued" queue. We have just witnessed miles in an alternative universe becoming prowler, Spot has returned stronger than before into his original universe, and gwen has assembled a spider squad of old and new members from the 2 films, and on top of that, Miguel's (Spiderman 2099) squad is on the hunt for miles. The film is amazing but the ending just felt like a loose knot with no conclusion. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great film. The multiverse both makes sense and functions in this universe, every character is likeable and well developed, Spot is such a great character and especially how he starts as a nobody and becomes "The Villain" The only con is the ending, I understand that it would be too long but we waited half a decade for this film... How long until the next? I will say the art stye has charm and is unique which is something nice to see these days... Overall an excellent film that achieves everything it sets out to accomplish only having a cliffhangar ending being a con. Good work Sony Expand

It's barbarically inventive and delightfully entertaining. But as they say, you can never have too much of a good thing. The style is distracting, the plot succumbs to abrupt tonal shifts, the structure is brutalised by never-ending humour, and the creativity is clueless about when it has crossed the line into the silly-verse. Among the random vignettes, it's difficult to not imagine a cleaner, more edited movie. Nevertheless, this admirably isn't even close to being a catastrophe. This sequel is actually quite well done, very entertaining, and frequently moving. building indefinitely through exposition and naturally occurring narrative turns. Expand

I really like the inclusion of Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya). He is serious, yet funny with his British accent, which is also Daniel Kaluuya’s native language.

The story continues the journey of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who has been Spider-Man for a year and four months. As he navigates the multiverse, Miles must find his place while facing his past and confronting new challenges.

This film delivers an exciting multiverse adventure, packed with surprising Easter eggs for Spider-Man fans to enjoy. The storyline fits perfectly within the realm of animated superhero movies, providing a solid foundation for the narrative of superheroes. The film has a lot of twists and turns, which keeps the story engaging throughout. The camera work is incredible and seamless, especially how they formatted the graphics and shape patterns, with no noticeable issues. Shameik Moore delivers an outstanding performance as Miles Morales, embodying the essence of both Spider-Man and Miles, who is just a kid that has superpowers. Hailee Steinfeld portrays an ideal daughter and friend who cannot understand why there is chemistry between her and Spider-Man, which showcases her exceptional acting abilities. Jason Schwartzman, as The Spot, brings an intriguing twist and laughter with a sense of darkness to the character, challenging our expectations. The movie concludes with exceptional music and an ending that left me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating the next installment.

The film’s message: "You can't save everyone you want," reminds viewers of the limitations that come with being a hero and how you shouldn’t forget to be yourself. It's important to note that there is a small amount of profanity in this film, so parents should take that into consideration. I give Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse 4 out of 5 stars and I recommend it for 12 to 18, plus adults. It swings into theaters June 2, 2023. By Rayce S., KIDS FIRST!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Spider-Verse 2 a very well done continuation, the strong point is the animations, the sound quality and the soundtrack which is incredible, Miles Morales faces family problems in the film like any 15 year old teenager does, but in Miles Morales the reasons of these problems are different from other teenagers but it demonstrates a feeling that we all feel when we are/were in that phase and that is charming. The story of the film is very solid, I liked the story but for some it may seem like a pure cliche. The movie didn't have an ending, it simply ended with a "to be continued", this ending serves for a sequel to the movie that comes next year, and even though it didn't have an ending I liked it haha.
I recommend it to everyone, a masterpiece.

As such, it ruins the flow of the movie for me as just when the story starts spinning at some surprising (and exciting) climax, the film suddenly ends. At least, we only have less than a year to wait for the conclusion of this storyline. Expand

Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse is a love letter to everything Spider-Man meant to the world during his 61 years of existence.

It’s an exciting, surprising adventure full of heart, emotions, action but also (and mostly) of human feelings and deeply developed characters that feel real and true to their comicbooks counterparts. The team at Sony Pictures continues to expand the boundaries of animation techniques and delivers something truly extraordinary: everything is incredibile to look at, the attention to detail is simply insane, and each style fits the characters perfectly. The story of Miles Morales keeps getting more interesting, with him going further down a path to really make him a great, unforgettable Spider-Man. The movie is so fun, but also really really deep. The music is simply perfect. Countless easter eggs will make every fan happy and satisfied, because it’s amazing to see how much the writers love and wanted to represent everything about Spidey and his lore. It’s definitely a must-have, probably one of the best comicbook movies ever, and one of the greatest animated movies of all time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

I feel like this is very hard to say which one is better because I feel like I don't have any major complaints about either one just some things are done just/about as well as the first: The character of Miles Morales, the sound/music, the voice acting, the fan service/references, the villain, etc. The originality/freshness of it is something to mention because Into the Spider-verse brought all these things to the table I still do find it amazing that it was able to feel original and fresh at all because Spider-verse brought so many things to the table but this film and the previous film are perfect at taking tropes from Spider-man stories and turning them on their head/examining them to make these films feel unique and you could make the case that both of these films are parodies of the Spider-man and the superhero genre as a whole but it's hard to call them that because they are just so respectful to both of those things and whenever they need to be serious they are serious and when they need to be goofy they are goofy but I feel like this was one of those aspects of the first film that was next to impossible to top since the first one was just so amazing at it and the fact that it even feels original/fresh at all is an accomplishment. Some are done even better even though they weren't problems with the first. These elements just topped the greatest of the same elements of the first which is a challenging feat. The animation was outstanding at its worst and this is easily one of if not the greatest animations (As in animated visuals) in film, (even though the original’s animation was also outstanding.) the humor, the fight scenes, Spider-Gwen, etc. And some are done slightly worse though that's not because it's bad and more that it's not as good as what some of the first did: I do have mixed feelings on this film's cliffhanger ending while the original's ending was perfect but this cliffhanger is interesting because I do think I will either grow to like or dislike the cliffhanger more once if the next film depends on how they follow through with it and usually with cliffhangers you know what to feel without having to watch the next installment. Though I feel I have to give the film praise for its twist at the end. Also, I feel like I didn't know where to put this category but about half of this movie is exposition and no one is talking about it since it delivers it so well that no one notices how much exposition there was. Also when I started to see some of the advertisements for this film and understand what the story would be my main worry was the fact that I thought it might fall into the trap of forgetting the fact of "It's a bad idea to go outside of your universe." But thankfully they were able to explain that away by people being able to wear devices that keep them from glitching out (and eventually dying if they stay in another dimension for too long) while they are in another dimension. BTW I do feel like Peter B. Parker and his story were what elevated that film because it was just the perfect example of someone who hit rock bottom, what happens when we're past our prime and learning to rise through other people helping us rise. While I feel like the thing that elevated this film was Spider-Gwen who lost her best friend and that makes it so that her father hates Spider-Gwen without knowing that it is her daughter and then isn't able to see the only friend that she made and when her father discovers her identity he still tries to arrest her so she is completely alone and I feel like this is a great example of what happens when someone feels isolated and alone because she immediately goes to this shady organization that is run by Spider-man 2099 and then once she reunited with Miles she doesn't know how to feel because know she doesn't feel alone anyone because she is with him but she also knows that she can't be with him because he is supposed to be kept out of this organization that she is a part of. Then she and this shady organization gets proven right with Miles saving the security officer which makes the entire universe start to get destroyed because of it. Then once the person who is alone finds shady people to be with once they realize how bad these people are with letting innocent people die, hunting down Miles because they are so devoted to their belief that all canon events need to play out and also that by working with Spider-man 2099's army she betrayed her one true friend in Miles Morales. She then realizes that while she may be alone this isn't the right place to be so she then gets sent back to her dimension and then meets back with her father who she was able to connect with again because he felt the loss of his daughter which made him try to make amends with her and regrets what he did she also knows that he quit the police because of his guilt and she also realizes that there is a way to prevent canon events of happening so she tries to save her one true friend while she can. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pretty good half movie

It was a pretty good movie, and I liked the increase in cameos. They really seemed like they were given more freedom with this movie as opposed to the last one. The only issue is that despite being a full 2 1/2 hours, it still doesn’t have an ending. Additionally, in an infinite multiverse, wouldn’t there be multiple near identical universes, meaning multiple colliders and other situations exactly like mile’s. The fact that there are so many blue and red spidermen, but only one spider Gwen is just weird. Also I am slightly disappointed that John Mulaney didn’t reappear as spider ham (aside from a short voice clip from the last movie.) although he was in rehab at the time, so it’s no big deal. I liked the movie, but it just abruptly ended, when it really shouldn’t have. There are also numerous other plot holes that I don’t even feel like mentioning, one example being that Gwen’s photo with miles didn’t glitch out of existence. This movie was only made because Sony needs to make a spider man movie every 4 years.

It's okay, I enjoyed it and the art is great - however the story at points was very slow, setting up for the continuation (which is fine). It's a decent standalone movie, but I'm guessing the third one will be a 10/10 with all the setup andIt's okay, I enjoyed it and the art is great - however the story at points was very slow, setting up for the continuation (which is fine). Como en la primera, lo único medianamente interesante es el apartado visual, lo demás es aburrido como mínimo, sobrevalorado es un término muy repetido pero le queda como anillo al dedo a esta película.
