Great movie , but they just dont make comic movies like they used to. No real artistic creativity. Tim Burton should create more of them. He almost did Superman returns and it was gonna be great, but he then turned it down for some reason.

Sure it had its problems, mainly the length of the film and a bit too many subplots. I felt Spider Man 2 was the best of the three in terms of overall composition. It was like a really good piece of rockin candy keeping you hummin till its last scrumptious crunch. Spidy 3 however was more the soul of the series. I think this is most important in an era of movies which overloads us with vanilla. You really got a sense of Peter's sensitivities, his hurts, loves, and the dark parts of his soul, mainly his quest for revenge that only only manifest against his uncles killer but also a perceived unrequited love. I'm happy they have made this film and do not think it was a mistake, nor a sell out riding on the coattails of the previous two. I believe in the years to come this film will be see as the most artistic of the 3 and become somewhat of a cult classic. Expand

Spider-Man 3 was far superior to the clich'e events that took place in Spider-Man 2. The execution of 3 was perfect. It was well paced and the characters were all very well defined. I'm sure it was no easy task fitting 40 years of comic book history into three, two and a half hour movies, but Raimi pulls it off with precision. The movie touched on many emotions. The only flaw I found with this movie was in Venom's character. A. Venom has razor webbing. B. Speaks of himself as "We' as apposed to "I". C. No hinting to the creation of the character "Carnage". This movie re-captures the feel of the first Once again, I'm going to have to disagree with the critics on this one. This movie was better than the 1st one, and it completely BLOWS AWAY the tear-filled, slow paced 2nd installment. This movie re-captures the feel of the first Spider-Man and mixes it with the improved effects from Spider-Man 2 (and really tops those as well) to create a nearly perfect Spider-Man movie. Best superhero movie I've ever seen. I was really into it. And after spending the entire 2nd movie sulking and lacking any redeeming qualities, Harry really is brought back in the 3rd movie as a very likable character. The scenes involving him and Peter are where the movie's at its best. Then there's the dark Spider-Man, also really high point of the movie, and there's the awesome Venom.... There's just too much great stuff to count. It does seem a little convoluted at first but it eventually evens itself out and ends up creating a very fun, action-packed movie that definitely outdoes the first 2 in almost every way imaginable. Definitely worth seeing. Would have been a perfect 10 if the script was edited...just slightly. Please keep superhero movies at under 2 hours, guys.... Expand

They killed off the enemy way too quickly(Venom). Yes lots of cheesy moments but it is after all a movie that was based off of the comics which were just as cheesy and the first two films had corny scenes as well. It tends to get a bit confusing with all the characters being introduced at once, they probably should have just stuck with venom and the new goblin. The "depressed" peter parker was a joke, wasnt necessary. The fight scenes were pretty good, sandman appears about 10 mins in the movie just like venom...the fight at the end is about the best part of the movie, not the best movie but not the worst either, if you can live through the corny lines and all the lovey dovey bullsh.t. My brother and friends hinted that the movie tried to involve or cover too many threads of different characters and such. Did they read or hear about other people's thoughts after opening night? I could have done without the dance scene and pelvis thrust myself, but the combat and special effects were astounding. Yes, there were a few characters to keep track of, but there was just enough background story to give the origin of these characters some substance rather than just throwing up some new villians out of nowhere. But I feel that this installment was the best out of the trilogy. For the first time since the first one I felt excited about Spiderman, and it will get a brunt of criticism for attempting to delve into a deeper story line than we have seen. But the action is phenomenal, as usual. What really makes this one the best to me though is the wit, in the first two you would see a scene or two of that, but this film really has it's own sarcastic wit about itself that is fascinating to watch. If you could only watch one of them, Spider-Man 3 is the one. Expand

Turns out the movie is actually really good, its only main issue being a bit too long and slow in some parts. They could have cut about 15 minutes from it and it would have been fine. I'm not sure what people were expecting but I find this Spiderman to be on the same high-level as the other two, and I have to laugh at the doom and gloom reviews that many of the major critics have taken, they are really way off the mark this time. This movie has laughs, sad moments, and some excellent action scenes. Well worth the wait. Expand

On the pro side, it was definitely the deepest of the trilogy and had the best character development in Peter, MJ, and Harry. On the con side, there was too many coincidences (the sympiote falling next to MJ and Peter, Marko stumbling into the particle physics experiment) and Sandman wasn't developed enough. I feel that Venom and Harry were, though. The focus of Venom was more on Eddie Brock and his gradual hatred for Spidey/Peter until it consumed him fully. Harry was juxtaposed to Brock to show forgiveness despite his hate. One last thing that bugged me a little was Sandman himself. Green Goblin and Ock were introduced in a way that seemed scientifically possible, while Sandman's creation was kinda ridiculous and was left unexplained. Spider-Man 3 was definitely good, but it sags at a few times under its characters' own weight. Expand

This isn't to say it forgets I think some negative reviews are OTT. It ain't as perfect as the other 2 films but it's not far off. In terms of action and special effects it's actually the most spectacular of the 3 films. This isn't to say it forgets the human side that made this series what it is. The action (as good as it is) still plays second fiddle to the relationships and troubles of Peter Parker. It's to the writers credit that you find yourself caring more about the personal peoblems of Peter, Mary and Harry then whether Sandman trashes the city. Performances from all main protagonists are solid. Special mention to Thomas Haden Church's understated Sandman and James Franco who excells now that he's given a more substantial role. Any problems with this film seem to lie with the confused direction of Sam Raimi. Half way through Spidey dons the black suit, changes character and goes on a rampage. Things start to get interesting. This is completly spoiled as Raimi goes overboard on the "comedy". The bits with Parker strutting down the street, eyeing up girls and dancing like a cross between john Travolta and David Brent just made me cringe. There's a paradox here and it doesn't work; Is this meant to be a darker Spiderman film (as the pre film hype would have us believe) or a comedy? Is the black Spiderman meant to be nasty and dangerous with attitude or a pervy village idiot? It's as if Raimi wanted to make a darker, grittier Spiderman but chickened out half way through. Another black mark against Yankee Doodle Raimi is yet more shamefully blatent flag waving near the end of the film. Yes, we know Spiderman's American we don't need it shoving in our faces. So, in conclusion this is an entertaining yet flawed film but not as bad as some people say. Expand

Spider-man takes a different approach from the first 2 films coming to blows with friends and loved ones from the start. His character is developing and more so in this film than the previous 2. I'm not a fan of the comics, so im not sure about the history etc and can understand some fans anger, however purely as someone new to the film/series, i enjoyed it overall. I enjoyed seeing something a bit different. What irritated me was the lack of explanation, what on earth was that evil black thing? SPOLIER - When Harry pinned Mary Jane up against the wall then she dumped Peter, what was actually said there? The film however does provide some answers. Combine a decent script with a mega budget, plenty of action and a good cast and you're set. A good film to watch on a Saturday night with the family or a few mates...or the girlfriend. Personally i watched it alone and that was fine too! Expand

The final cheapter in the spider triogy wraps up the francise greatly and the CGI is dazzling as anything. Sadley though spider-man 3 is so desprate to out-live the amazing spider-man 2 that it works too hard with way too many villans. First of all, if your gonna go ahead with spidey 3 then keep in mind that,ll you either be blown away or damn right disappointed. Mixed reviews are everywhere on the internet so watch with an open mind. First of all the fight scenes are amazing! oh and there's action! Real action with mind blowing CGI. However though, the film spins a messy plot going to the next character and then to the next one. It's also to note that once spidey goes bad, the film even try's to be funny showing a dance scene with peter ( no! you read that right!) a dance scene! You may just be mad with laughter or myble you,ll come across the WTF factor. Either way though despite the films flaws, spider-man 3 has a darker tone and message then the other two films and also has the beatiful message of forgiveness and choices in the film which to me, was what i found to be the best part of the film. The film wraps the triogly up greatly and by doing so changes the wall clawers orgin story. A riskly move i know and some people thought wrong of this but i for one thought that it payed off as it makes peter grow up more with forgiveness in his heart rather then revenage. Something that are own hearts lack and need to be taught with as well. We always have a choice to do the right thing and its why that this film has the best theme in all of three spider-man films. Spider-man 3 may not live up to spider-man 2 which is a true fact but bear in mind though that it has more heart then spider-man 2 and message. that even the best of us need to learn. Venom was myble a pointless figure in the film but to be honest i just think that venom was a relection of what peter could of become and also what we could become if we live with revenage in our own hearts forever. Don't expect venom to great in the film, let alone be that much in the film either but Raimi didn't even want this guy in the film but instead used him to tell the next story of peter parker. Oh and there's also a death in the film as well, two deaths actualy ( one a villian by no surprise since this a spider-man film) and one is just another message as well. A message that shows even if we can redeem are are selfs from bad choices, we,ll stay have to pay for what we chose to dofor making the wrong choice's in life. To sum it all up, spider-man 3, depsite it's faults, is the best spider-man film with a heart and message. Despite not reaching the level of spider-man 2, the final film has bearth taking CGI and finsh's off the triogy on level. Say what you what about this film, love it or hate it, people say only fans who read the comics only know how this is a bad film. Well guass what? This is coming from a big spider-man who loves the comics and also loves this film as well! There's troll's every where on the internet who rip this film to shreds but i don't care. There's more postive then negative reviews on this site, user's put a more postive reviews here which has out-weighed the bad ones so i know that there's other people who think the same as i do. It's not a bad film but a damn good fllm in it's own light. Besides, despite that spider-man 4 may be cancelled, spider-man 3 wrapped the franise up greatly and it did a damn fine job to end one of the most loved super-hero series ever to come. Expand

the only problem I had with this movie was that venom didn't get enough spotlight; sandman got more attention than venom and venom didn't get enough development; also the guy who played venom didn't really fit the persona of what I pictured venom to be; I always pictured venom to be this big buff guy that bullied peter parker but this actor failed to pull off that image lol still I suppose I he did a decent job of being venom lol he did get the cockiness of venom down pretty well lol

Not only did they have great storytelling and scriptwriting, but they also had amazing actors as well! They definitely brought so much emotions out of every scene.

There are a couple of flaws with this film but I believe that they didn't entirely destroy the movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd say it's the most underrated Spider-Man movie, this movie gets a lot of hate but to me it doesn't really deserve it. The reasons on why the movie doesn't deserve the hate it gets is Sandman, sandman is one of the beautifully designed villains in the movie and I'd even say Eddie Brock aka Venom who's played by Topher Grace is an amazing villain when he is either of these characters. Also, the fight scenes in the movie are just amazing, the train fight scene with Black suited Spider-Man and Sandman is just great. I think another great scene in the movie is when Peter get's rid of the symbiote in the bell tower, the symbiote looks so well designed to look like this gooey, liquidy and vicious black goo. Almost forgot to mention, the emo dance scene is just perfect it just shows how Peter thinks that he's cool but in reality he is just still the goofy nerd that he has always been known for being. Finally, the ending to the movie is perfect when Peter and Harry forgive each other and return as best friends to fight the bad guys off. The only negatives I have towards the movie is the poor CGI and green screen effects when Harry and Peter have their first fight while he is going through the alleyway. Also, another negative I have on the movie is on how it relies on the CGI faces and it doesn't hold up quite well. Overall this movie is really underrated and it shouldn't get the hate it gets to this day. Expand
