This movie kills sense to all pokemon movies and seasons before. I wish this movie was never made. such a terrible story....

If you want nostalgia, you'd be much better off rewatching the original series.
The story is choppy, jumping from random event to random event, and by the end I'm still not sure what the goal is. Dialog is cringy throughout. There areIf you want nostalgia, you'd be much better off rewatching the original series.

There are characters and Pokémon who get screen time but have no role in developing the plot, as if the writers got sidetracked or forgot to tie it all together.
Worst of all, they broke several rules no Pokémon fan would ever want broken. Watch it and you'll see what I mean - or don't. Actually, really don't. You're not missing out.… Expand

I was incredibly disappointed by this movie and I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Unless you're 5 years old I can't imagine you would enjoy this movie. Being someone who has grown up with Pokemon, I did not find much to like here ifI was incredibly disappointed by this movie and I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Unless you're 5 years old I can't imagine you would enjoy this movie. Being someone who has grown up with Pokemon, I did not find much to like here if anything. For a good portion of the movie I was struggling to figure out what the point was as we jumped from scene to scene seemingly at random. It doesn't seem like they knew what they wanted this movie to be, and it shows, as they try to cram in a reboot of Ash's journey, new Pokemon that didn't exist back in the day, some ineffective drama, and a surprisingly little amount of nostalgia. In some instances the change of scenes are down right jarring. The movie is simply trying to do too much and it truly suffers for it. I will give credit to the animators as they've done a beautiful job, but, I did not like the muted colour palette they used for Ash's clothing. Originally his hat was a very bright red, but, now it is practically maroon. I also can't stand the new symbol on Ash's hat. Why did they even need to change it? This may sound trivial, but, this is the main character we're talking about so I had to look at this ugly redesign in almost every frame of the movie. To sum up, this is a children's movie and there's nothing wrong with that, but, when your fans have had 20 years to grow up and since this movie is a celebration of the anime's beginning, maybe it should be enjoyable to those of us who actually watched those episodes. Kids these days will not be able to appreciate this the same way a long time fan such as myself would and now we cannot even do this.… Expand

I´m sick of see reviews of fanboys, this movie is a insult for the fans, this movie IS A **** 10 minuts for the farewell of Butterfre but any mention of the Squirtle Squad? The Pokémon most important of Ash? BULBASAUR, the enemy (Marshadow)I´m sick of see reviews of fanboys, this movie is a insult for the fans, this movie IS A **** 10 minuts for the farewell of Butterfre but any mention of the Squirtle Squad? The Pokémon most important of Ash? BULBASAUR, the enemy (Marshadow) is ridicolous and forced, Marshadow don´t have any motivation explained in the movie, just attack everybody because of yes, in this movie Pikachu get in the pokeball breaking 20 years of tradition, because of what?, they kill Ash because of what? FOR DEFEAT THIS STUPID ENEMY.
We lost Brook and Misty, and that is ok, but the reason for in this movie was not okay is anothe, in the movie they dont explain the reason thas Ash don´t met Misty and Brook, GUYS, THIS HAVE TO BE EXPLAIN, HOW CAN YOU DO A PARAREL UNIVERSE OR A REBOOT OR A REMAKE OR WHATEVER WITHOUT EXPLAINME WHY IS DIFFERENT, crap of movie… Expand
