The impressive special effects and the videogame nostalgia can't save Pixels from being a boring, unfunny, predictable, plot hole filled mess from start to finish. And Kevin James is president? Seriously?

I took my 3 children, 13, 5, and 3 and they were all extremely entertained. I too thought the movie was pretty damned funny. There were very few moments when I was not laughing. It was an original and entertaining story with plenty of laughs and action. Adam Sadler, Kevin James, and Josh Gad were all funny, and I usually do not find Kevin James tolerable, and Peter Dinklage is absolutely hilarious. In closing I thought it was an all around enjoyable movie and, to be honest, the best of the summer blockbusters so far. Expand

Ok now let's start off with the positives. There were a couple times I laughed, The whole video games attacking earth was entertaining and the video game battle sequences were well done and for once Hollywood produced an original movie. OK that's it for the positives. Even though I laughed at a couple parts it was a pretty big mess from start to finish. The actin was mediocre, the script was bland and the whole idea of using women as trophies when they saved the world. BELCH. I watched this movie because I love old school aracde games and even though Adam sandler does not make good movies nowadays he has had a couple of good ones such as 50 first dates, bedtime stories, billy Madison blended and a few others. However his acting felt very flat and so did the rest of the cast. Predictable with a few entertaining movies does not save this movie from the mess it really is. Now I just need to ease the memory of seeing pixels from my head. Expand

Seriously...every movie is the same movie as its predecessor... this could have been called Grownups 3 for all the difference it would have entailed ...same characters, actors, plots....
Does Adam Sandler even flinch at glorifying himself as a man-child in these movies anymore? Apparently not since he does it in every single damn movie he makes now....
I mean seriously... Kevin James as president? Does Sandler even bother making any of these premises even remotely conceivable anymore? You need to stop playing nepotism with your friends and start making real movies with a real cast... Either that or just do us all a favor and stop making movies...
PLEASE! Show us some mercy....

The picture is horrible! The cinematography and special effects look like they were made with a free to download 3D maker software from a high school team class project! The acting is so poor that even Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Pixar's Toy Story have more EMOTION than Adam Sadler and the rest of the casting crew. The movie makes a decent try to reference the 80's through old time songs and even having a character dressed with jeans, spiky hair and ear rings similarly to the 80's fashion but the results end making him a parody (and no he was not meant to be a parody he was meant to be a cultural reference and they failed miserably on that).
The game fails to deliver any nostalgia regarding videogames of the 80's era. They even put cheating a videogame as a turning point to twist the plot!! No serious videogamer takes cheating or jokes about hacking a videogame lightly and it is definitely not appreciated!
Save yourselves and do not watch that movie.
To whom it may be like-able? To people with absolutely zero judgement or low self estime!
The plot is very bad, the dialogues are pathetic, the graphics are pathetic and the movie sucks!
DO NOT WATCH IT!!!!

So I just saw Pixels and it was pretty terrible and are you seriously surprised about that.

-The acting was dank.
- Adam Sandler not trying anymore.
- The effect's were alright.
- Josh Gad was so annoying in this movie, I mean he wouldn't stop shouting.
- Peter Dinklage was the only saving grace in the movie.
- Kevin James is an idiot.

I know some are expecting a long detail review of this but to be honest I want to save my strength and energy for another movie I'm going to review and that's The Third Man. I'm really taking my time with that and make the best out of it so before I review a masterpiece like The Third Man, here's something really ****

Video games really don't have a good reputation when it comes to having film adaptations. Sure we have a few good one's like Wreck it Wralph or Scott Pilgrim, but for the most part they seem to go down the same route as the Super Mario BrosVideo games really don't have a good reputation when it comes to having film adaptations. Sure we have a few good one's like Wreck it Wralph or Scott Pilgrim, but for the most part they seem to go down the same route as the Super Mario Bros movie where the film loses all the charm that made the game enjoyable to begin with. Part of the reason for this is they always seem to be put into dreadful hands. This time those dreadful hands are Happy Madison Productions, Sandler's film studio that have been producing his cinematic turds for 15 years now. And once again they have produced another insulting comedy, lacking any real charm and being light on laughs.

The plot unfolds because back in the 80's NASA sent several video games in to space to communicate to extraterrestrials. But their message of peace was misinterpreted as a declaration of war and the aliens send several video game characters to attack the earth. Thus President Cooper (Kevin James) recruits his childhood friend and gaming champion Brenner (Adam Sandler) to fight off the alien invasion.

Right away we've really got to suspend disbelief to accept the plot. Not just because of having to accept the poorly explained justification of why the aliens are attacking as video games, but also buying Kevin James as president of the USA. It's never explained how he became President, but unless Donald Trump was the only other candidate there's no way he could've gotten voted into the position. Especially considering he plays the same annoying character he always does of the dumb guy who does nothing but hang out with Adam Sandlers character.

None of the other characters are much better. Sandler has as much charisma as a plank of wood. Josh Gad's performance as the nerdy friend is annoying from the start. The only one who gets even a chuckle is Dinklage as the over the top douchey rival, but even that gets worn out quickly. Also just like all Sandler productions we get a lot of offensive stereotypes. This time the focus is on geek stereotypes, like gamers are antisocial weirdo's who have no lives and live in their mothers basement. Albeit this isn't the most offensive stereotype, but it's still insulting one of the film's biggest audiences.

Besides this there are other typical offensive representations we see in all Sandler movies, like women being nothing more than eye candy. In fact there are only two female characters in lead roles. The first is Michelle Monaghan who's in the film only to give Sandlers character somebody to flirt with. The other is Ashley Benson who plays one of the video game characters who comes to life, who not only doesn't get a single line of dialogue in the film but also ends up being a literal trophy for one of the characters.

Having some of gaming's most recognisable icons, you'd really think the film would actually do something good with them. But it doesn't. The gaming characters will just attack Sandler and co. only for the humans to fight back and that's it. It never tries to actually make any jokes with these characters, but instead does the same thing as a film like Disaster Movie where it will try to get a laugh by just naming something popular. The only video game icon they do anything else with is Q*bert, who is one of their trophies to help them. But all they have him do is typical annoying Sandler humour like watching Q*bert wet himself with pixels and some weak slapstick.

Although at least the gaming icons they use actually look good. It's not like the Mario Bro's Movie where Goomba's looked like a pear on the body of Frankenstein and instead the 3d CGI models maintain the charm of the original designs. But to me this makes the film even worse than typical Sandler comedies because it ends up feeling like such wasted potential. Had a better production been given the chance to use these characters, we might have got a charming homage to video games. But instead we got a typical Sandler comedy, just as unfunny as always but with a bigger effects budget.

For the most part, the movie was very boring. The dialog is simply uninspired and feels somewhat forced. The romance edge took up a lot of screen time and was not good at all. It should have been left out or less emphasized. The comedy was slapstick as always however it didnt connect very well in this movie. I did laugh about 3 or 4 times but it wasnt like some of the laughs I had in other comedies. The plot was non-nonsensical in that there was no adversary characterization except for a few words that Q-Bert made about his race. Anyway, its not the worst movie on earth, but it most certainly is below average by my book. I would skip it. Expand

If however you’re a Sandler hater… and there seems to be a lot of them out there, then this will be a difficult watch for you, expect the carefully choreographed clever comebacks and generally lame humour of Sandler’s recent career and although there are a few genuinely funny moments, Pixels seem to be devoid of any real belly-laughs or anything you might remember 10 minutes after walking out of the cinema.

So what are we left with then?, a ludicrous and predictable story yes but you can hardly expect ‘Citizen Kane’, certainly action-packed with impressive and unique visuals, we’re now very familiar with the concept of death by Pixelation… and a collection of mediocre performances with the exception of Peter Dinklage, all-in-all an ineffective mix of ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Wreck it Ralph’ with none of the charm.

From its critical reception and the vitriol directed at Adam Sandler you might be forgiven for thinking that ‘Pixels’ was one of the worst films ever made but it’s no such thing, it’s not even the worst film of 2015 or most unwatchable Sandler production, but ultimately this is a film that relies on nostalgia to make a bunch of hit & miss jokes and forgettable performances effective within a ludicrous and flashy story… and in the end it just doesn’t work.

The Bottom Line…
Despite an interesting premise and impressive visuals, ‘Pixels’ is a mildly entertaining and moderately comical Sci-fi spectacular that relies heavily on nostalgia and pop-culture references to the point of tedium, an easy and forgettable way to burn a couple of hours.

How could anyone give this film above 3 is beyond me...
The film embodies the worst of Hollywood - lazy, despicable writing, annoying and insulting stereotypes, using nostalgia without any effort, no smart, witty humor, ripping off ideas from other, more talented people. All boils down to a usual shameless money milking experience. "Pixels" is an intellectually degrading film strip that was used to completely strangle celebration of 80's culture.
Adam Sandler's appalling attitude is not even infuriating me any more. It's just sad. And there's nothing worse than a sad clown.
Do this industry and movie goers a favor - pirate this. That's one of the rare times, when I admittedly endorse it. Pirate it, burn it to a lowest quality DVD you can find, spill it with he cheapest vodka you can find and burn it with the cheapest matches you can find. That's all it deserves. And nothing more.

And it doesn't even have a **** plot.

I would leave the review but this requires me to say more, so I'll tell you a few of the things that were messed up in the movie and those which were still decent (spoiler: it's just the CGI.)

The film is aimed at children, yet it will make references to 80s nostalgia, which kids nowadays have no **** clue about. On top of that, it has a really, really **** script. The damn movie took a dump on my head and left it to rot. You have completely underused stars with screen time given to Adam-****- Sandler as much as possible. There are constant mindless innuendos, sexist dialogues, and even **** Q*Bert seems embarrassed to act alongside Sandler.

I am one of those people who don't have much of a reaction during the movies. I had 1 "aw" moment during minions, and i rarely even flinch during horror movies, but Pixels had me smiling and at the edge of my seat almost the entire time. Sadly, I saw this movie at a drive-in theater so 3D wasn't an option, but it was such a great movie I'm going to a normal theater to see it again this weekend in 3D.

Nostálgico e divertido, pixels reúne vários elementos cinematográficos que são indiscutivelmente um colírio para os olhos, onde uma trama razoável e uma comédia suave são o suficiente para dar boas risadas.

If this movie was a video game, it would be E.T. for the Atari 2600. Thats right, this should cause the collapse of companies, the sacking of entire departments, and should be buried out of shame. Its that bad. I struggle to even call this a movie, because what it devolves into is one of two things: Adam Sandler staring at the screen blanking thinking its hilarious, and the "actors" pointing at things and going "Oh look, its (insert game character)! Remember that?" Literally the only thing that keeps this movie from somehow making it into the negatives is Peter Dinklage. I remember him being in this movie alone sold me on the idea. Boy was that a mistake. Him being the standout actor is about as impressive as beating six year olds at chess. My recommendation? Stay as far away from this movie as possible. If you want to see colorful nostalgia of a more simple time of gaming, dont go see this movie. Dust off that ol' NES or SNES (or even resort to emulators if you have to) and experience the nostalgia as its suppose to felt. With a controller in your hand and no gaping mouthed idiots staring at you. Expand

It's a COMEDY people. In that it succeeded. I've seen a lot of reviews claiming it wasn't funny. I brought my wife and two kids to see it Friday night and we found it very funny. Of course the story is far-fetched and unrealistic. (But so is every Marvel movie.) Again, it's a COMEDY.
We had a good time watching the movie and left the theater happy. It was worth the price of admission.
It may not be a Marvel movie, but it wasn't intended to be either.
If you want to be entertained and see a fun movie, go see this.
If you want to see a documentary on video games, go see something else.

The reality is, this game really is more for the nostalgic adults who grew up in the yester-years of video game history, they grew up in smoky arcades and spent late nights playing video games.

The story is a cliche alien invasion movies, that obviously learns towards game companies like Atari and Tatio. In the 80's humanity sends a VHS off into space, space aliens take the tape as a challenge in response to their video game footage.

The actors are all well known and beloved and it's always wonderful to see them get together in a halfway decent movie. The reality is, they are aging and they are taking on newer roles that some of us may not always enjoy or take seriously. That doesn't change the fact that the cast is spectacular and the acting is spot on.

The movie runs quickly, although it is a tad bit predictable, you can guess the results of the movie from a mile away, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the film. The fact of the matter is, I enjoyed Pixels more then I enjoyed Jurassic World; which is sad. Jurassic World should have been a block buster hit, but they were too worried about promotional gimmicks and relying on a franchise name to actually give a crap.

"Pixels" is just another Sandler fest with a bunch of arcade video games from the 80s. It's incredibly unfunny with some of the stupidest sub-plots in any Sandler movie in general. It's also got forced relationships between Adam Sandler and Michelle Monaghan and even Josh Gad and Ashley Benson. And Kevin James is just awful as the President. THE PRESIDENT! As far as the action sequences with the arcade games, they are fantastic to watch. The whole Pac-Man scene in particular is just outstanding to watch (if you ignore the idiotic comedy in between). But what's sad about "Pixels", a movie about arcade video games, is that they are barely in the movie. They probably only make up about 25% of the entire movie. The other 75% is focused on our terrible main characters, their childishly idiotic humor and their annoying sub-plots that have nothing to do with a movie about video games attacking earth. Overall, the fun action sequences are mostly pushed to the side thanks the movies terrible writing and crappy characters. I give "Pixels" a D-! The comedy is not really good at all. The special effects don’t work. It doesn’t really hit a market because it’s not Nerdy enough for Nerds, and the humour is way too juvenile so will only entertain fans of Adam Sandlers previous comedies or children and even then it will not appease Adam Sandler fans because the rating doesn’t allow them to do enough swearing or his usual lowest common denominator gags that somehow entertain people. The 3D effects mean that the 2D version which I saw didn’t really work which will limit it’s appeal on DVD and the cast is either really awful or too over qualified for this film and poorly directed. It’s just a mess on every level!! I didn’t find it very funny and I didn’t find it very thrilling. I was just bored by it and I was glad to go. It just doesn’t work on any level. I am probably going to forget about it as soon as I have finished this review. There are several continuity errors, plot holes and a couple of video game characters that were made after 1982 that turn up in the film un-explicably. They just didn’t care!! Expand

Flashy special effects and some pretty nice action scenes make it the best looking Sandler movie to come out in a while. It is still very much a Happy Madison/Sandler film. That should tell you all you need know about the humor at this point. The jokes are immature and the whole thing is a huge celebration of the man child.

If you are one of the types who have already moved on from the humor associated with Sandler films and have been disappointed with his recent works then, quite simply, don't watch this. No amount of 80's videogame throwbacks will make this funny for you. Those of us who still enjoy Sandler and the type of humor his films contain will find plenty to laugh at here, although surprisingly very little of it comes from the man himself or his usual associates.

Josh Gad and Peter Dinklage are the show-stealers here. They along with several great cameo actors (Sean Bean is particularly hilarious) are the ones who bring the real laughs. Sandler is just sort of there as the main character. He gets some funny lines here and there, but mostly he's just around to carry the story and the shallow romance. His performance is shockingly lazy. Critics have always criticized him for that over the years, but this is the first time I've actually agreed with them on that. He is very clearly not trying at all. Kevin James is almost unnoticeable.

It isn't until Gad and Dinklage show up that the laughs really start to get going. Dinklage in particular is phenomenal. You can tell he's having a blast and he nails some of the movies funniest moments. Gad's talented. He holds up the majority of the film singlehandedly until Dinklage's character comes onscreen to help him out. It's a shame we are treated to a rather slow start that's lacking in laughs thanks to Sandler's lack of effort. I love the guy, but he doesn't bring anything to the table this time around outside of his name.

While some disappointment rear their ugly heads, this love letter to 80's videogames is one worth watching provided you enjoy the humor of recent Sandler films. It might not stand out as the best of Happy Madison's repertoire, and it won't do anything to please their detractors, but there is enough humor here to make it worth a watch for fans, even if Sandler does bring his A game. Or any game at all.

I give "Pixels" a 7.5/10.

This movie is more like a 7.5 out of 10, but it needs these scores to outbalance the ridiculous over-the-top scathing reviews.

Forget what you've read, this movie delivers. It is the best 3D film out, the comedy hits, and above all it's entertaining. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a comedy that's not too kid friendly (Paul Blart 2: Boring) yet not a hard R in which I'm afraid I'll see Seth Rogen's dick at some point.

PIXELS' soundtrack is catchy adding more fun to a mix of non-Sandler regulars that give Sandler a well needed push in the right direction. Michelle Mohananagahan is terrific (cast her if you want an actress that can deliver more than the looks). She even has a particular badass scene at the end.

This movie rocks. Enjoy it with some friends. Avengers 2 put me to sleep this summer. PIXELS woke me up. Enjoy the show.

- the start is very Americanized and the gaming tournament. But it does character development quite nicely.

Do you like Adam Sandler comedies? If yes, then this one will be one of the better ones. Do you like a bit of silly fun? Then you might give this movie a 6 or a 7. It's nowhere near as bad as what critics say. If you're tempted to see it, I would say, go for it!

I came out with jaws aching because I had laughed so much! This was really one of the best films I have seen recently, and I don't see why all of these negative reviews are here. The story is admittedly fairly mediocre, but the animation style was really unique, and, as a gamer myself, it never felt insulting or stereotype-ish (if that's a word). Also, that Pac-man scene is soooooooooo cool! I think this may end up in the lost land of good movies that relate to, but aren't based on, video games- along with Wreck-it Ralph. Some of the soundtrack mixes are pretty sweet too! Expand

I personally enjoyed it quite a bit, but I'm also a big Adam Sandler fan and was a fan of the premise of the movie.

I can acknowledge some of the flaws (weak story, sometimes overdone scenes with Sandler) but overall, this is the movie I thought it was going to be and that's okay with me. Anybody who goes into this expecting something super serious or well scripted will be dissapointed but if you're willing to just have fun in a movie theater and stop overthinking things, it's a great movie and easily one of my favorites of the year.

Pixels review:

Just finished watching pixels and honestly I don't see why there is so much hate for this film. It's glorious and I'll tell you why. First off it was made with extreme care the intro the battles even the credits were handled with a 1980s flair. And by the way the credits were awesome. The visuals were AMAZING! Seriously this is some of the best cgi I've ever seen. The way the aliens exploded into pixels or humans rezzing into pixels or vice versa looked beautiful. The story was cheesy and cliche but I enjoyed it. The movie is pretty funny too with some good jokes and cameos. The acting is good and characters range from decent to good. The way the aliens looked and the action and again the cgi were fantastic. I actually really enjoyed this film it was very nostalgic imo and made me smile. I Hope for a sequel.

Movie was funny. And IMO better then ant man. You can't go wrong with some of the jokes you will be telling your coworkers later. People bashing the movie are probably the same that hate family guy, or find stand up comedy "problematic"

This is a perfectAs far as movies are concerned, If the "critics" hate a movie, I will go watch it because it usually means that the movie is pretty good. If the "critics" love the movie, I usually skip it because the movie is not very good. This is a perfect example of this. I took my 10 yr old son with me to see it. This movie does exactly what I think movies are supposed to be for. It entertains. It was moderately funny for me, at no time did I have a deep belly laugh, but I did laugh and smile throughout the movie. My 10 yr old though, he loved it, big hearty laughs were plentiful from him. This movie does not have some deep secret meaning of life or supposed to teach you the way of the world. It does exactly what it was meant to do, give a laugh and entertain for an hour and 40 minutes. I thought Josh Gad was pretty good in this as was Kevin James. Sandler and Dinklage were ok as well. I grew up with these old games and it brought back some good memories and actually got my son wanting to find these older games online and play them. He is still playing donkey kong. If you have a free afternoon, take your kid and enjoy a good movie and walk down memory lane. Go see it. Expand

Chris Colubus' 1492 Pictures teams up with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison to give us Pixels. A film about 80's video game nerds who team up to save mankind from an alien attack with video game characters as weapons.
Despite Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter) directing; Pixels still feels like a Happy Madison film. Since the jokes are mostly aimed at grown-ups. A pretty talented actress is wasted as Sandler's love interest and you have Kevin James as the President of the United States....While we also have to buy Adam Sandler as a smart nerd.
Still; 18% good reviews is mostly due to critics ready with their pitch forks and a spot on their Worst of the Year list. Since this is a Sandler film after all. I think that's harsh though since Pixels is one of Sandler's better films.
I admit the plot was thin but the movie has it's fun and funny moments. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) doesn't do his best work yet he still steals the show. He plays a gamer who rivaled Sandler's Sam Brenner as a kid. One of his demands for his help is a romantic rendezvous with Martha Stewart and Serena Williams.

The whole film felt like an overblown idea given to the wrong production company. The original short film it was based off of was pretty damn good and I'd highly suggest watching that short video over this feature film.

Sandler was tasteless and lackluster as usual and I wouldn't want anyone wasting their money on watching this, rather to wait until it's on a streaming service (If it actually gets put on one outside of the USA).

It's near enough impossible for me to recall anything to do with the plot because it felt so poorly patched together that students that I've met before could have easily written better, and it's a damn shame that greatly talented writers are writing scripts that aren't going anywhere, but just because Sandler can bump his name and money behind a project means that major studios will automatically be more interested in backing it for either production or distribution.

There's a reason why they say the film market is dying and it's because they're too much deflated rubbish like 'Pixels' being green-lit, whilst there's an over saturation of individuals and smaller companies all trying to push to be near the top (for whatever reason: monetary etc)

Don't bother with anything Happy Madison produced anymore, just avoid it from now on because you'll simply be wasting your money. I learnt that after Master of Disguise...

Chris Columbus is a fairly reliable director and has managed to create some great comedies and some strong blockbuster films as well but once again it just feels like Adam Sandler directed this. I am not an Adam Sandler hater, but I am getting sick of the same story that he crafts year after year. The visuals for this movie were great but I was mixed on the characters. Josh Gad was funny from the start but he got old quick. Peter Dinklage was so bad, he was not funny at all, I was expecting him to be really funny but he just became this mess with a terrible accent. Then you have Kevin James and Adam Sandler who are just not believable in their roles. Pixels may be one of the most original stories of the year and I did find it sort of funny at the beginning but the writing for this film is predictable and falls into the same Sandler template. This film is just destined to become a Sunday afternoon cable movie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Personally, this movie wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be. I did find it a bit hard to get into it at first, there were quite a few boring (and some sexist) jokes, and I was bored for a good half hour or so. I also feel they could have done better with the transition into action, because I felt they went from 0 to 100 pretty darn fast. One thing as well that really bugged me was the relationship between Violet and Sam, because one minute they hated each other, the next minute they're in love. I personally did not like how they executed their relationship, but if you like relationships like that then its cool. Honestly though the best part comes when the action starts, and boy was it cool! I enjoyed watching the main characters battle it out with some of our favorite classic video game characters, and you really feel the intensity of the situation when VonLichten comes on with their mix of 'We will Rock You." so I really enjoyed the climax to the end of the movie. So I feel its definitely worth checking out, but if you're someone who can't handle slow starts to movies, maybe get there later or just wait for it to come out on DVD and fast forward until the good parts. The prologue isPixels is filled with 80's nostalgic aimed for adults but it the film is really mean't for kids and it's a typical Adam Sandler film were he has no charisma it's offensively lazy also he just wants to hang with his friends. The prologue is set in 1982, 13 year-old Sam Brenner (Anthony Ippolito) and his friend Cooper (Jared Riley) ride their bikes to a newly opened arcade, where Brenner comes and shows his skills mastering classic arcade games such as Pac-Man, Centipede, Tetris and Space Invaders. Cut to present day, where Cooper (played by Kevin James who was miss-cast) is a goofy unpopular president of the U.S, Brenner (Adam Sandler) is sad sack who wears a orange uniform and installs TV's and video games. Sam never really gotten over his defeat at Donkey Kong at the hands of showboating Eddie (played by Peter Dinklage) as a grown up, and Brenner can not get over it. Michelle Monaghan plays Violet a soon to be divorced mom, who is a high ranking weapon specialist. Josh Gad is Ludlow, a creepy love able gamer who lives in his mom's basement. Back In 1982, NASA sent a time capsule into space that included arcade games. The aliens misunderstand the videos and that took as a threat and declared war Pac-Man, Galaga, Donkey Kong send them down to Earth to destroy the whole planet. The talented director Chris Columbus (Home Alone 1,2 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) has no timing which makes this comedy awkward and not funny, the film does have inspiring action sequences. Sandler's writers Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling's script does have laugh out loud moments and pretty cool action scenes but the problems it's their script. Weak female characters and that's not odd because Sandler has weak sexist characters in his comedies but it's not good. Josh Gad is screechy and thinks it funny if he's high pitched and screams his lines. You don't buy the chemistry between Michelle Monaghan and Adam Sandler. Kevin James as the president? Wrap your minds around that one. The film can be funny at times but it's a typical lazy zero effort Adam Sandler film, not even the humorous Dinklage in a mullet can save it. Some okay performances and a great visuals. Grade C Expand
