Best way to describe it is boring and dry. There's not much to it, really. I had high hopes as the casting is great but it really leaves the viewer wanting. It lacks music that actually adds depth and feeling and the story is seriously lacking any climax that actually feels like the height of the plot. Don't waste your time on this one. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Nothing happens in this story. Tries to be cutesy, says nothing. Entire film is also very poorly shot - no depth, composition in nearly ever frame is off Expand

"Lost in directing" and "Lost in New York", a film that tastes like an autobiopic on Coppola's vacuous flat existence, even devoid of any Allenian wriggle. Scary miscasting.

I'm a fan of Sofia's films, but this one is unwatchable. It is a mere attempt of revisiting the man/woman complicity we saw in Lost in Translation, mixed with Bridget Jones scenes, literally copied, and with a touch of Sex and the City. Sofia's snobism is everywhere, in the details of the life of the protagonists, in the fact they mention restaurants and Clubs, in the quotes about the paintings or the painters, adding nothing to the plot but useful only to underline that "she knows". There are at least a couple of inexplicable black holes in the plot that are uncomprehensible. Bill Murray does all, even if his character is so forced and above the lines that his brightness is in some way turned into ridiculousness. Everything is so boring and predictable, what a pity.
