Feels like a 2000s comedy in the best way. Much like Good Boys the film certainly begins to run out of steam in act 3, but Lawrence and Feldman have good comedic delivery and chemistry. Check it out in theaters so we can get more R-rated comedies!

She has great charisma, and she makes her character somewhat relateable.
But the problem for me is that I didn't buy the premise and all the ridiculous set-ups played for laughs. It's too over the top, and unbelievable. I did laugh, but I just wish it had a better story.

Fun comedy. I admit that the movie did have me laughing out loud. Jennifer has pretty good comedic timing. There was good chemistry between the two leads. Enough of a story to satisfy those looking for more than just a laugh fest.

It's not funny... like at all. If your expecting a raunchy comedy this is not it. The film is more of a coming of age story about friendship. Not worth seeing it in theatres imo.

It's not because No Hard Feelings wastes no time in demonstrating that it's a weaker, and more prudish, story than it pretends to sell.

Problematically, Lawrence's comedic gifts fall back on using her sensuality to open up absurd situations and behaviors.
It's not exactly funny, but the idea is clearly geared towards the more cynical elements of her character's attitude and what she'll be able to physically do with it. It's not necessarily ineffective, but I don't see anything groundbreaking either, you know?

Maybe that's also why it's contradictory to see that the film was rated R when there's very little that could be considered truly deserving of that rating.
You saw the best gags in the trailers and that says a lot about its humorous weaknesses.

It's a shame, because it's clear that the mix of the main characters could have benefited from other funny experiences, especially considering that the male lead's personality is far from looking to jump into bed with Lawrence in a heartbeat, even though it could be argued that any male character would be looking to do so.
With it there were better situations to take advantage of, but it becomes apparent that the screenwriters didn't think of that.

Arguably this could have been a huge disaster, but its actors believed enough in the script, which was desperately looking for the talent to come through.

I won't tell you not to see it, but I'll put it this way: I'm glad I was invited and didn't pay my ticket to see it.

While her talent isn't lost on the role, she's only occasionally amusing. Her character is a down-on-her-luck Uber driver who's hired by helicopter parents to bring their extremely introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell…specifically get him laid. While there are attempts at creating outrageous situations, none of it is especially shocking. As the virgin, newcomer Andrew Barth Feldman does a nice job of growing from sheltered to confident (as expected). The plot follows a predictable arc, but lacks anything quirky or extreme. What's left is a mildly sweet, but nothing special coming of age story. Expand

Can‘t recommend!
It isn‘t very funny, though some gags in the beginning are really good!
In the middle, the movie just drags on, and nothing feels credible or convincing! The ending is ok, but not enough to redeem the movie!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An Uber driver (Jennifer Lawrence) has her car repossessed after failing to make her payments on it. This puts her at risk of being unable to afford paying the rent for her house. Fortunately, she happens to stumble upon a posting on Craigslist for a car for sale... With a bit of a catch. Two wealthy parents (Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick) are looking for a girl to help their shy and introverted college-bound son come out of his shell, and possibly even sexually awaken him. They promise her a car in exchange for this service, and Lawrence is more than up for the task. First off, the biggest draw of this film for me was J-Law starring in a raunchy comedy. It's becoming increasingly rare these days to see raunchy sex comedies in the same vein as 'Superbad', 'Knocked Up', 'The 40 Year Old Virgin', 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall', etc. being made anymore, so the fact that Lawrence was willing to flex her comedic chops in a film like this greatly intrigued me. Besides being a great actress, her comedic timing is quite impeccable, and I'm not even talking about when she's acting. Anyone who's seen her in casual conversation or an interviews knows what I'm talking about when I say she has one of the driest senses of humor around in Hollywood. She's crude, blunt, to the point, and that trademark personality of hers shines through in virtually every scene in this film as well, making her easily the film's strongest aspect. Storywise, it's pretty formulaic and generic as far as the raunchy sex-com tropes are concerned. The jokes are usually pretty hit or miss, but a lot of it is surprisingly pretty cringey too. The movie has its fair share of plenty of awkward moments (it is right there in the tagline of the poster after all.) Besides Lawrence of course, Andrew Barth Feldman as the shy teen Lawrence is tasked with seducing holds his own against her surprisingly well, balancing comedy with a handful of genuinely heartfelt moments with the actress. Benanti and Broderick as his overbearing parents are also fun to watch in the handful of scenes they're given. Overall, it's lewd, ridiculous, cringey, and awkward as hell, but Lawrence's comedic timing is sharp and undeniably a delight to watch, and Feldman's comedic chops and chemistry with her make this one just fun enough to pass the time. No real action to speak of, exception of a small combat scene on the beach. I give it 65%. Not bad, but not great either. Kind of a summer movie for adults. Expand

Boring and unsuccessful. Jennifer Lawrence did well. All other characters acted for a drama. Her costar was unlikable and unfunny. It would have been better if the comedic energy came from both leads.

No Hard Feelings

A story of a 32-year-old woman being contracted to date a 19-year-old boy to help him gain confidence before he leaves for college, No Hard Feelings is raunchy, funny but also uncomfortable.

The premise of this plot hinges on a very divisive topic, seeing as this wouldn't work if the genders were reversed. The movie doesn't condone the grooming qualities and also doesn't necessarily condemns it, rather it tries to portray it as a matter of fact (it's also adapted from a real-life Craigslist ad.) The tonal shift in the second half was also a little jarring.

Jennifer Lawrence unbridledly steps into her character, showing off her comedic and dramatic side. Andrew Garth Feldman also plays the awkward dork well. Most of the supporting characters have limited screen time, and not all of them are pivotal to how the story progresses, but most of them added to the comedic bits of the movie.

The movie is uneven, but the raunchy comedy in the first half mixed with the sweet comedy in the second half still makes for an enjoyable movie.

With more polished pacing, a refined script, and a stronger resolution, this film could have achieved greatness.

In conclusion, it's a decent film that tackles significant themes and showcases sincere performances. It's genuine moments and emotional resonance make it worth a watch for fans of romantic dramas.

A very fun romantic comedy that ranges from the most subtle humor to the famous nonsense.
Without a doubt the best thing about the film is Jennifer Lawrence, she rocks the role and has an interesting chemistry with the other character.
The script is not the strong point, when the plot focuses on humor, especially slapstick, it works and well, it's a real laugh. But when entering into certain dilemmas or dramas the text is unsuccessful.
It's a stimulating and fun comedy reminiscent of teen comedies from the beginning of the century, great for passing the time.
