I think one critic put it best - this movie will melt your face off!

The movie has EVERYTHING and is a blast. I'm not old enough to have grown up with the other Mad Max series, but I can tell you that this is as original as it gets for myI think one critic put it best - this movie will melt your face off!

The movie has EVERYTHING and is a blast. I'm not old enough to have grown up with the other Mad Max series, but I can tell you that this is as original as it gets for my generation, so great to see a movie that was completely different from the factory-line superhero drivel hollywood keeps pumping out.

Only downside, Max hardly has any dialogue, but it sort of goes nicely with his character.

Must be seen in theatres.… Expand

Perfectly cast, directed and shot, with a harsh palette of colors and memorable imagery (the guitarist, eh?) Mad Max: Fury Road is a film that will stand on its own.

Mad Max Fury Road is by far the best movie of the year and one of the best movies in history of cinema.An insane movie filled with amazing looking action,great acting and overall very intense.This movie has it all.

Everything about the way that the action is directed is perfect,all the time the main character is in danger and you never know how it will end.There's a guy playing the guitar during all the action,that's just freaking insane.
Tom Hardy does such an amazing job here,he fits on the movie perfectly and Charlize Theron is also very very good on the role.Also there's a certain amount of heart to the characters that makes you love them even more.It's not just brainless action,it makes sense and it's done beautifully.
George Miller is back to show us how to do action in the best way possible.He built this movie in practical effects and I appreciate that even more.Cars flipping and real explosion over the top makes the movie even more insane.
I really can't think of a negative about this movie so I'm definitely going to give it a perfect 5/5 rating and deservedly so.
Go see this movie if you still haven't,I personally can't wait to re-watch it and experience this amazing craziness all over again.… Expand

The editing style can be weird at time, but it is an artistic choice (and not a way to conceal bad acting or camera work) : a lot of speed up during action scene.

The editing style can be weird at time, but it is an artistic choice (and not a way to conceal bad acting or camera work) : a lot of speed up during action scene.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the focus is not enterely on Mad Max, and I would even say the main character is played by Charlize Theron.
Also, most of the movie is race scenes, but the story and characters are still develop through out the film : mostly by the action and reaction from each characters.
The acting is great for every actor, proving the director knows what he is doing. Thumbs up for Tom Hardy for sharing the emotions and reactions with mostly is eyes and facial expressions.
Plus, the sound design and the cinematography are exceptionals : similar to a Sergio Leone production (close-ups to see the face of the actors in-between large shots where it is possible to see all the action on screen, lengthy beautiful sequences, few dialogues, adventure driven story telling, ...).
The world is amazingly large and detailed making something fresh and interesting within a postapocalyptic desert.… Expand

Stars of the movie: George Miller and Charlize Theron (Furiosa)..Furiosa is the Ripley of these wastelands... Tom Hardy is adequate as Mad Max and has given a restrained performance. Brilliant cinematography and action choreography.. Also a major action movie to have string feminist undertones in mainstream Hollywood for a long time ( movie belongs to Furiosa)..Also loved the desert biker gang of old women from the Vulvalini clan... searching for hope and an opportunity to restart life among the deprived and crazy men.. As far as action, it has it. Level of detail on the cars and locations-Beautiful! However the biggest flaw to the movie was the main character. I don't remember Mel ever being boring or as silent as this max. Granted that actor isn't know for dialogue in movies in my opinion, but okay. But it seems to me putting a mask on him at least gave him a reason for his silence - he must have forgot they took it off.
Overall I never felt a connection for max other than a nostalgic one and by the midway mark I was waiting for him to be more of a hero like the women in the movie were being. Nice work on that!
The cars had so much detail but I almost felt like I only got glimpses of that detail and all the fun ideas.
More than decent action movie but could've been more engaged to story.… Expand

Everything this movie TRIES to do is perfect: The character development, the sociology, the action, the insanity, the violence, the redemption and survival dramas, the social critics, the critics to religion fanatism and the feminism, so I can only give it a 10. However, when you go to see a movie, you come in with some expectation of what you are about to see. I didn't expect that with this movie. This movie showed me something different, that there is a different way. There is a different way to make movies where artistry and orchestration of a million tons of steel and a trillion tons of sand can combine to tell a story on its own. Where absolutely no camera shots or words are wasted. Where every single frame plays together to create a masterpiece of visual and active story telling. Where every second of dead air hangs thick with anticipation. This movie is a circus; George Miller is laughing as he takes apart expectation and he shreds action movie tropes, only to have something truly original and important come out the other side. The most original, daring, and inventive movie in 30 years is an installment in a 30-year-old franchise. That is the cosmic irony and beautiful existence of Mad Max: Fury Road. Mad Max: Fury Road absolutely blew me away. Whether it be the setting, the music or the sumptuous action. Throw in some plot and you're good to go. I don't have much to add. I think it's a great film and I recommend it.

People who say that this movie doesn't have a story, Please don't compare it to other action movies like Fast and Furious. It is something else! At first, I thought I thought George was milking the franchise. At first, I thought I thought George was milking the franchise. Tom Hardy playing Mad Max was a relief, but it was very uncertain. After seeing the movie, I can safely say that it is "the greatest action movie of all time"(at least for me)!!! Miller's direction, screenplay, action sequences, musical score, cinematography, editing, costume design, visuals, and the cast's performances (particularly from Theron) were just acclaim-worthy. However, I just found hardy's performance to be a bit wooden as he just used grunts to communicate, still being in the shadows of Bane's character from The Dark Knight. Definitely in my top 3 movies of all time. Miller grandpa just proved me wrong! Those who say that it lacks a good story should need to go to film schools.… Expand

A lot of brutal action with top stunts, a very interesting world, many damaged characters and great cars. But 50 kg women fighting strong men? A women community is peaceful and talking some classic feminist propaganda? Quite an amazing action flick, despite having little-to-no story or dialogue. This seems like only the beginning for this character and was well-deserving of so many best film lists in 2015.

Fury Road doesn't have a very complicated story. It's story can be summed up in half a sentence. But that's why it works so well considering all it is is one big action chase scene that doesn't go bland.

Really good and interesting movie which keeps Mad Max franchise alive and brings it back basically. Was interesting to watch, even though the main character did not talk that much, but I liked the setting and the ideas the movie had.

This movie is an adrenaline filled thrill ride from beginning to end. This is one of the best action movies of the last decade and definitely the best of 2015, if you haven't seen this movie yet do yourself a favor and go buy it right now!

For what this is, it's really well done. The roughness needed for Mad Max is there, the very real sense of danger, the desperation for water in the post-apocalyptic desert conditions. The acting isn't brilliant, just OK, the script isFor what this is, it's really well done. Mad Max: Fury Road may be too wildy over-the-top for some, but with Charlize Theron's charismatic and daring performance along with her other heroic companions, there is something to like.

Mad Max was a franchise that I hadn't thought about in a while. It was safe to say that when I heard about this new movie it peaked my interest. Mad Max: Fury Road is an outstanding film, with outstanding direction from George Miller, which was shot outstandingly well. Might be the best action movie ever made. Besides the opening narration and some quick plot starters, the entire movie is one continuous two-hour-long car chase across the lovely wasteland. Besides the opening narration and some quick plot starters, the entire movie is one continuous two-hour-long car chase across the lovely wasteland. While watching, you are completely transported to a new world and can see and feel the real stunt work, the apocalyptic vehicles, and you are just left to marvel at it all and live on the edge of your seat in the process. It's impeccably shot and edited and scored and the main protagonists in Charlize Theron (Imperator Furiosa) and Tom Hardy (Max Rockatansky) are just a badass pair. You get the feeling George Miller did everything he ever wanted in a Mad Max film with his imagination and love, and maybe ended up making the best action/chase movie of all time.
