You can almost touch the greenscreen in some scenes. It's not a bad movie but it's a bore and that's the worst thing a movie can be.

The plot was nonsensical and the constant shift of tone made it confusing. The only reason why I sat through the entire movie was because of the action sequences, the brilliant visuals and the acting performances, especially Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Jason Momoa as Aquaman. I really hope DC get their act together in future movies if they are going to compete with the comic book movie giant, Marvel. I think DC has an interesting roster of superheroes and can be portrayed really well on the big screen if the people behind and in front of the camera were dedicated and determined to make a good movie. Justice League is another bad DC Extended Universe movie.

In 2018 DC are still trying to catch up with the juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead of taking their time to properly build their cinematic universe, DC act like mad dogs. They try to compete with Marvel on the same grounds but their films are utter garbage (the only exception so far being the great Wonder Woman film). Justice League is no exception to the rule.

DC know they are far behind Marvel and yet they release an Avengers-like movie before even having introduced half of its super hero protagonists in solo films. This leads to a chaotic mess of a plot where 6 unrelated heroes hastily unite to combat a super villain before even getting to know each other in the first place.

Not everything is that bad, though. There are a few funny scenes involving Superman and Flash who antagonize over who is the fastest of the two. They offer a couple of good laughs, but they can't save this disaster of a movie.

At least Justice League is better than Suicide Squad, but it's on par with Batman vs Superman. Which isn't a compliment.

Justice League succeeds in a decent fashion and does a lot of great things. Sure the villain isn't all that great, but does marvel succeed in that spot as well? It has some good moments, I didn't see any problems with the CGI, the movie was a little short, and I could see some pacing problems, and it did leave me wanting more. But its certainly far from bad or even terrible as some would call it. Justice League gives a great story that puts all these characters together, it might have not been as good as the avengers or as loud and fun as Civil War. But it still has some pretty fun moments. Zack Snyder redeems himself, he did improve upon this film VASTLY when compared to Batman v Superman, its light tone helps it a lot, and Joss Whedons extra scenes added really does add to the film, but overall hurts more then it does improve. I did not enjoy the soundtrack, it overall felt lazy and just very generic, Danny Elfman was unable to bring beauty or anything special or innovative to the films formula. Batman v Superman, Man of Steel and Wonder Woman's soundtracks were all impressive and at the least enjoyable and greatly produced. But Justice League's soundtrack fails to impress and reminds me of Marvels boring and generic soundtracks. Overall Justice League is fun and enjoyable, no film is without its flaws and Justice League proves that, it might not be The Dark Knight or Spider-Man 2, but its still enjoyable. Overall = 6/10 Expand

Instead it continues on with the flaws that plagued the previous two Snyder films and Suicide Squad while adding it's own to the mix. It's an odd amalgam of sci-fi and fantasy that doesn't really feel like a comic book movie. The plot is weak, rushed, and jumbled. Steppenwolf is probably the dullest supervillain to hit the big-screen thus far. Even when the writing has fallen flat, Snyder films have at least always been good looking. None of that visual panache is on display here though. It's all obvious green screens and bad CGI. Something that is probably due to it being the product of two directors.

While only receiving only a screenwriting credit, Joss Whedon had his fair share of directorial duties when hired to finish up post-production following Snyder's exit as the result of a family loss. His presence can be felt throughout. He is most likely responsible for much of the humor in this film. Most of which comes from Ezra Miller. It's of the same style of the two Avengers films and plays well off of each individual character's traits and their dynamic as a team. While each individual hero is great on their own, they never really come together to form a cohesive unit. Flash, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg are the only ones who really feel like they belong in the Justice League. Batman is wildly out place and Aquaman doesn't contribute anything. Princess Diana and the heir to the Atlantean throne got nerfed to make room for Superman to save the day. Whose return by the way is incredibly anticlimactic and makes everybody else onscreen feel inconsequential. Henry Cavill's performance is pretty good though, despite feeling different from his portrayal in the previous two movies. It's truer to the comic books.

Everyone is going to have their own personal favorite member of the team after watching this. For me it's Ray Fisher. I liked his tragic tale of man who feels like he's losing himself to the machine. I'm excited for his standalone film although I hope they don't go too dark in tone. The movie provides a great jumping off point for all the newly introduced characters to have their own solo projects. While not doing much to stand out on it's own, Justice League at least opens the door for everyone to go their separate ways for a while. Which is probably the best move given that the only self-contained entry in the DCEU (Wonder Woman) is easily it's best. Warner Bros. still has a long way to go before they can make their cinematic universe truly do the comics justice, but the future does look a little brighter now that we've got this stumbling block out of the way.

Here you have the premiere DC Universe film that brings all of its heroes (except Green Lantern) together for the first time. I remember when Marvel did this with the Avengers. That movie was just fantastic and I enjoyed seeing its box office rise to over $1B. Somehow Warner Bros. had the instruction kit still screwed it up.

Rather than my usual long winded poorly typed and edited ratning, here is a refined list of the reasons why I think Justice League was a total failure:

The film starts with half a dozen backstories all shoehorned together because we only have origin movies for two of the characters.

Batman is puffy faced, wears a suit that he can hardly move in, and still uses guns like his parents getting killed by one was no big thing.

Obvious green screen. Obvious CGI. Every scene with Superman is dominated by his upper lip.

Half the fight scenes are in giant cylinders. If there is a theme for this movie, it is cylinders.

The Flash is not very funny in this movie. He only seems funny because the rest of the movie is so terrible. His costume is awful.

The conflict among the heroes is completely forced and artificial. Clearly they wanted the Avengers vibe of "some assembly required". Clearly they did not understand how that worked. The dialogue. An examplary line from the movie: Batman says to Superman, "I don't not like you". The movie killed interest in these characters. No one is going to see a heavy metal, hard drinking Aquaman solo movie. No one is interested in a lifeless Cyborg movie. Could anyone really withstand two hours of this Flash saying stupid crap? There is no way puffy faced murder happy Batman will ever top The Dark Knight. Even Wonder Woman and Superman, the only heroes with solo movies, are tainted by this train wreck. Any sequels for them would have to be billed as "not starring other members of the Justice League".

Back to the boring normality? Justice League takes some of the most well known and beloved fictional icons of modern history, and does a by the book, Chart consulting, focus group mess of a movie, that really can't be sure if it is the "gritty and dark" style that all the Snyder DC movies have, or the "Avengers Fun" that Joss Whedon adds in the end. It all ends up being just meh, with the movie trying to make you forget plot points from all the other movies, and trying to be all grand and such. With some ok performances and some horrid ones, it ends up being... mediocre. Can't truly recommend but there will be some that enjoy it. Expand

Most of the time, I fake laugh and seem like I seen this type of movie before (The Avengers). I didn't like how they changed Batman in this movie and some of these characters feels like they're there cause they're your favorite superheroes but it's boring. This is one of the disappointments movies of 2017 and at this point I'm not even surprise. Expand

There are a lot of ridiculous and pointless situations. Wedon's additions are just dialogues and jokes that ridicule characters that should not be ridiculed, like Batman. The biggest culprit of all this is the script (written by Snyder and Terrio). The only good thing was to listen again to the typical song of Batman by Elfman. Expand

Horrible CGI and visuals.
Taking from Marvel forced humor.
Finally Superman got the adequate characterization, previous Superman (MoS and BvS) was too dark and a di.. Weak story-line. Still better than BvS.

While this movie is a step in the right direction it still doesn't quite reach it. The story is that Batman and Wonder Woman try to recruit a team to stop an evil threat that is coming. The first major problem about this movie is the short run time of 2 hours. It is poorly paced and the transitions and cut just seem odd. It feels like there were lot of missing scenes and it is very noticeable. The threat also isn't there and never do I feel like that there is anything at stake.

If there is a good point about this movie then it is the characters themselves. Let start with Batman who is played by Ben Affleck again. He still does a good job with him and since BvS he has regained trust in the world again and is a lot nicer now. However, his change in character sometimes just doesn't feel right such as the fact that he does a lot of jokes now which doesn't work for me. Batman should not be pulling jokes like this. Also his sudden love for Superman just doesn't make sense especially since he only met him for a few minutes in BvS and it was mostly them at conflict. Gal Gadot plays Wonder Woman and she also gives a great job. She is like the second leader of the team after Batman and I liked a certain part of the film where she talks about leading the team with Batman and it was a great conversation which gave her a bit more depth. Jason Momoa as Aquaman is decent but I feel like Aquaman doesn't do as much in the film as I would of liked. Heck he doesn't ever talk to fish or summon sharks at all in the whole movie which is a huge disappointment. Ray Fisher as Cyborg is pretty good but like Aquaman it doesn't feel like he is given enough things to do in the movie and most of the time it feels he is only there to move the plot. Cyborg needed more scenes and this is where it feels like he was let down. Not enough cool moments from Cyborg. Ezra Miller as Flash was great as he was charismatic and had great personality. The flash was definitely the comic relief of the movie but it felt natural and it worked. Whenever he was in the speed force it was cool and I liked that they done it differently from Quicksilver of X men. Henry Cavill returns as Superman and this is a much better Superman, a more hopeful Superman. The character interaction between the team were great such as Cyborg and Flash as the "accidents" , Batman and Wonder woman as the leaders, Batman and Aquaman with their banter and so on. There is a conflict in the group but it never really amounts to anything and it eventually just gets brush over which was hugely disappointing as they become a team almost instantly and it didn't feel natural at all. The villain Steppenwolf is absolute garbage. He is just a CGI blob with "I want to destroy the world just because!" mindset. Not much to say about him. JK Simmons is the new person to play Co missioner Gordon but there isn't much to say about him as he is barely even in the movie which is such a shame as I would've liked to seen more of him. There are also returning characters such as "MARTHA" played by Diane lane and Alfred played by Jeremy Irons and Lois Lane played by Amy Adams but there isn't much to say about them as they barely play a part in this movie.

There are a couple of action scenes and in the beginning of the movie there is a fight between Batman and a parademon but it looks awful with its awkward camera shot and transition. Additionally, the last fight in this movie is just a bloated CGI fest we seen in BvS and Suicide Squad. Though there are two action scenes in the middle with the first being the fight in Gotham Harbour which is all right to say the least. Though the second one is honestly really exciting to watch. For a movie with such a huge budget, it is honestly surprising how awful the CGI is sometimes especially with Steppenwolf who looks lame and never for a moment do I ever feel like he is there. The music score is done by Danny Elfman who done the Tim Burton Batman theme. The score does what it needs to do but never more. He also at points reuse his own Batman theme and John Williams Superman theme which is a nice touch. Still, I would have preferred Junkie XL as their theme had a lot more impact.

The movie doesn't feel consistent which is probably due to the short runtime and the issues behind the scene such as the change in director from Zack to Whedon due to Zack losing his daughter. The change in music composer and the reshoots causing Henry Cavill mouth to be CGI due to him not allowed to shave of his moustache. The movie is very generic and you're not really going to remember that much but it has its moments and you gonna have a little bit of enjoyment with this movie.

What I got instead was a perfectly serviceable superhero movie. It certainly wasn't as good as The '78 Superman, Spider-Man 2, or Logan. But it wasn't Fantastic Four or Thor: Dark World bad either. Yeah, the villain was underwhelming, but so was Ares in Wonder Woman, and fire armor dude in Thor, whomever the bad guys were in The Avengers. I am surprised no one in the movie mentioned the band that shares the antagonist's name. Yeah, I know the mythological character came first, but every time they said his name in the movie I started singing Born to the Wild in my head. Someone should've just made the obvious quip and be done with it - they certainly wore out the "Aquaman's power is talking to fish" thing.

Additionally, Supes wasn't given nearly enough screen time. I still don't get why he was temporarily bad, but whatever. And the CGI-removed mustache was jarringly distracting (Hollywood, please stop with the bad facial CGI). But other than that, I'm not sure what exactly people were expecting. Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman continues to be both charming and kickass. The Nordic surfer dude approach to Aquaman is great. Cyborg's CGI wasn't nearly as bad as I feared, and was a compelling character, as was Flash. Still not sold on Affleck's Batman, but I do like the way they portrayed him as being way out of his league (no pun intended) compared to the others with actual super powers.

Bottom line, all superhero movies - with one or two exceptions - are the definition of popcorn flicks. Mindless fluff that entertains you for a couple of hours. For me, Justice League was as enjoyable as any other superhero movie to come down the pike in the past several years. And *FAR* better than some other blockbusters that came out last year.... like that one... you know... in space. With the battles.

The Flash is the one that bring the energy into the movie. The story is a bit standard but you can see it misses some crucial elements. The friction between the individuals isn't very well exploited. And the motivation of the villain is somewhat generic. Some parts feels disconnected...and it sap the energy of the action and the character feelings. The soundtrack seems to be split in two. It wasn't very coherent. The FX in general were pretty good. The Flash and some Aquaman scenes were amazing. I give it a 65%. I hope we can see a longer version of this movie with more character interaction...After a second watch, I found the villain CGI absolutely horrible. The voice to animation was slow or out of sync, with very little expressions or way too much. Some CGI on Cyborg were pretty bad when he moved. The part where the heroes are coming together is way too short, and not convincing at all. And all the motivations and backstory of the main villain is a big joke...proof of that: the last end credit scene establish antagonists better then all the movie. A main villain that cost too much for dialogues scenes, isn't worth being in a movie. I downgrade the movie to 50%. All those bad decisions were taken from the start, no amount of humour or re shooting could have saved it. Still there is some good parts in the movie. Expand

Superman was overpowered and there is a lack of enemies as they are all the same. The cgi on Steppenwolf was absolutely terrible and took you out of the movie. It broke immersion and made you feel like you were watching a video game. It tried to copy the Marvel formula and failed. I had just watched Ragnorak and laughed my butt off at the jokes in that. All the jokes in this fell flat.
They shouldn't make another one!! The original Batman and the Nolan movies are just better movies. They get Batman right.

Also, why is Flash such a **** I like the Netflix The Flash but he does not live up to that. Also, a 2 Hour movie introducing 3 new characters and resurrecting another? The plot was good, and the chemistry between the heroes was very good, as was the acting. The film relied heavily on CGI, as the whole villain is CGI, and although his was OK, as always with DCEU movies he lacked so much depth and there was one exposition scene that kinda developed his character, but he was yet again lacklustre in pretty much all ways except from the brilliantly choreographed and frankly butt-clenching fight scenes against the Justice League. Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman yet again was amazing (as was the number of butt-shots in the movie, although I don't think that's something to complain about), but what I think all of us were most excited for were the two new heroes in the DCEU; Cyborg and Aquaman. Jason Momoa as Aquaman was very good; he was funny, yet he didn't over-saturate the jokes, he was so, so badass in the fight scenes, and overall his character was one that you really enjoyed watching. Cyborg was also very good, and his character development was probably the best out of the two new heroes, as we learn quite a bit about his past and how he went from Victor Stone into Cyborg. However, in the scenes he was in he didn't really do much else apart from hack things and tap buttons, and I kinda wanted to see him in more conversational or non-tech involved scenes. The major thing about these two though was simply the lack of screen time they had, and I know this is due to Warner only permitting the run time to be 2 hours, which is the main flaw of the film as a whole - it felt very rushed and haphazard, due to the harsh restriction on run time. The character of the Flash was one that I didn't like, because as someone who has read all the Flash comics he wasn't portrayed anything like he is in the comics, and was just there to provide the jokes and make the film a bit more audience friendly. Now I'm not saying he wasn't funny, because he really was, but it didn't feel like I was watching the Flash. Henry Cavill as Superman was yet again amazing, although I won't say anything else in case of spoilers, as as one can imagine he's integral to the plot. All in all, I would see it in cinema simply because it's a Justice League film, but don't go in expecting it to be better than the other superhero group movies like The Avengers, because it's not. This is by far the best DC movie of the post Christian Bale Batman era. I realise that’s not giving a lot in the way of praise, as the previous movies haven’t set the bar very high.

Why so much better? For a start, the two hour running time whizzed by, to the point where I was left wanting more. How many people said that after Batman vs Superman or Suicide Squad? The new editions of The Flash and Cyborg breathed life into the proceedings, and were a welcome counter point to the stuffy old Batman and Wonder Woman characters. But most of all it was good because it didn’t feature too much of Henry Cavill’s perma-frown version of Superman.

The story was neither here nor there, and just acted as a vehicle for lots of fighting and running around. I can see that the colour-by-numbers baddie (Steppenwolf – not the same person as penned the immortal rock tune Born to be Wild) has copped a lot of flak. He wasn’t particularly bad, daft yes, awful no. And his CGI was adequate.

One slight problem, the story left nothing that needed continuing. I guess there’ll be a Justice League II, but why? Unlike Avengers movies (this lots main rival), I didn’t see the beginning of a multi film story arc. Well, that’s not entirely true. I was left with one question – Aquaman, why? He brought nothing to the film and quite frankly looked very silly (and this is a genre where silly is the norm).

If there is a JL II would I watch it? Yes, definitely. Especially if Superman dies again and this time they promise not to bring him back.

Expand

I was seriously underwhelmed by the film. As a DC fanboy this left a mark forever. Not only is this not a good movie but its an infantile and semi professional shot at best.

I could go on for hours picking it apart but there is nothing I could say that could make it shine. This is the result of not following the slow introductory treatment that Marvel got for their characters.

A special shout out to the moron that wrote the script, an awful attempt full of ridiculous one liners and terrible scenes.

Finally, to the company or people who made the CGI, I suggest you change your life goal and career. This looks like a dated fake attempt at a sequel for SKY Captain and The World of Tomorrow. Next time take your time and build the freaking sets or don't pay top dollar for this awful CGI.

The movie villain might be one of the worst SH villains ever and it just feels like a setup for another movie because nothing worth your time happens. Feels rushed, feels butchered in the editing room and don't even get me started on the first scene from the movie where the CGI Superman's fake mouth.

I want to cry and forget this ever happened, and I did not even get into the specifics of each character. Swing and a Miss...for the whole ballgame.

I dreaded seeing this after Thor Ragnarok was so good about--nothing. Justice League engaged me in herding interesting cats into a workable team. I liked each hero and learned something about each one. Henry has never looked better as Supe. Flash as a Jewish kid on the autism spectrum is simply wonderful. His obvious use as comic relief did NOT reduce him as a character for me. Gal Gadot's smile remains extremely healing. Aquaman is a far cry from the orange-scale-suited nice guy of the 1950s. Bruce Wayne's self-sacrifice was played up convincingly for me. I think as good as many of the Marvel films and maybe better than the first Avengers film; as, more focus on character. Expand

It was like watching Blue's Clues level of backdrop artwork. I could go on and on about other beautifully bad details (like the editing) but what made this movie even funnier was the comically shallow and underdeveloped villain Captain StepenBadGuyWolf; just an amazingly weak character that does bad things because the script says he's supposed to. I totally recommend this laugh-out-loud comedy for its genuine attempt to be an EPIC movie and failing with the same level of EPICNESS. -5/5 Expand

Don't get me wrong, it is nothing compared to Wonder Woman, or any of the Marvel things that are happening, but I do have to say it managed to be better than Batman v Superman.

Now, remember that I also kind of liked (but kind of didn't) Suicide Squad so my taste is not the normal movie critic.

I liked the new characters, Flash and Cyborg seemed interesting, and both had a good feel. I loved the new take on the Flash, and his immediately volunteering to join sort of underscored his whole character. Meanwhile Cyborg was brooding in the beginning but became fairly mellow by the end

The movie itself felt the same dark dark dark grim dark of BvS in places, then in other places it felt less serious about itself and was able to be watched easier. I think this is where you seek Zack Snyder at first, and Joss Whedon in the others.

What this movie did show me was that Zack Snyder shouldn't be directing any of these. I am definitely for a dark comic book universe, but Patty Jenkins proved DC doesn't have to be dark with Wonder Woman, and Joss lightened up Justice League enough that it shows Zack's view isn't beneficial for the universe.

Now, there are huge holes in the movie you could drive a semi-truck through, but overall it was worth it and I would see any subsequent movies as well.

The good: The chemistry with the characters is there, even Superman. The less serious tone really benefitted the movie as well.

The bad: So many plot holes, acting issues and most importantly showing that Zack Snyder should not be directing these movies.

Justice League does try to do what Avengers had to with 5 to 6 prep origin movies and much more prolonged and sustained storytelling which they knew has a future beyond the today and immediate box office. JL hurries through characters, their intros, their dialogues, camaraderie and the cast doesn't even look comfortable. Ben Affleck seemed a grizzly sort of fine before but now, he's just bland and without even a proper thing or two to say. Ezra Miller has an acceptably enjoyable quirkiness that could be associated with a very young Barry Allen but that's that; he's no quicksilver from X-Men Future of The Past irrespective of the speed matching debate. And Cyborg, well that character was simply unnecessary beyond the point of ticking some sort of checklist. The only saving grace is Gal Gadot's existence as Wonder Woman and Aquaman's (I hope they don't ruin the legacy of machismo that is Jason Momoa) Ode to her. Lastly, Steppenwolf is a straw-man baddie that could be anyone, possibly even the dark master Darkseid himself.
Justice League is obvious failure of an overcooked hotch-potch that Zack Snyder (He had personal problems during that period) and Joss Whedon (perhaps, his sneaky feminist ally act kept him busy,, hmmm...) indulged in DC's corporate kerfuffling.

JL is a massive step down for the DCEU, it is a pretty enjoyable movie, sure, it's also a better movie than Suicide Squad, but it takes the universe to a route that is honestly f*ckin sad, by trying to recreate the marvel formula .
Snyder (wether you like him or not) was taking the DCEU to a different path, he wasn't just recreating Fox's, Sony's or Disney's universe, he was creating more experimental superhero films ( if compared to the current releases, of course), sometimes it didn't work, they **** up Batman's character in BvS by taking his detective skills and making him a remorseless killer and, i honestly think MoS is overall an fine average film with nothing to special about it (except the soundtrack, Hanz Zimmer is a god), but when it worked, it was honestly pretty terrific, providing us amazing moments and action sequences that we don't se in those marvel flicks today.
unfortunately, WB wanted a more safe approach, so they got Joss F*cking Whedon to finish the movie after Snyder's family tragedy, Whedon reshoot to much stuff, lots of "funny" moments were added to the films and the more serious tone that was present in the other Snyder films is completely gone.
Taking all that out of the way, the film is fine, it's fun overall and has some pretty good moments, they get almost all of the characters right, but it just feels like a another generic superhero movie, it's no better than Ant man, and that is such a sad thing to say, the best characters from comics history finally unite at the big screen, and in the end it just turns out to be a fun, average movie.

Some okay action, chuckle-worthy moments, and the cast give it their best shot but at the end of the day, JL is crushingly average with some baffling creative choices.

I just had trouble caring about what was going on in the plot. It felt very choppy and rushed in the first 3/4 with bland exposition heavy dialogue. There are some moments of humanity througout (mostly from Cyborg and Wonder Woman) but they are few and far between.

I found Barry Allen annoying as hell and while Jason Momoa is charismatic as Aquaman, his character didn't really serve much purpose to the plot outside of being brute comic relief.

What is kinda weird is that Zack Snyder films are usually blessed with grade A visuals but JL was surprisingly weak in this department. Most of the action fails to excite and is un-inventive.

There are also plenty of shockingly artificial-looking CGI and green screen effects shots that looked like they needed another rendering pass.

Let's not even get into Henry Cavill's uncanny-valley stiff upper lip.

The villain Steppenwolf also looked terrible (in addition to just being a bland villain on the whole) and reminded me of the Enchantress' brother from Suicide Squad.

I didn't come out necessarily disliking JL, but given this is the first live-action rendition of the first superhero team, this should have been so much more better and eventful.

Instead it's draggy, anti-climactic and forgettable.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly, the movie is super mediocre and flawed.
It's so predictable it really is a bore watching.
Fight scenes are really slow and really bare bones and i struggle to remember anything worthwhile from the movie. If you want to watch a great Justice League movie there are animated movies that hit the same notes as this movie but just a thousand times better.

Spoilers: The start of the movie is just around 50 minutes of things we know will happen,
People telling their backstory, pretend they might not join the team when we know they will in the end, the team falling out and reunion stronger than ever.
Small jokes here and there that fall flat. The plot doesn't really start moving until
superman gets revived, everyone saw that coming and of course he is evil at the start because of they needed more fights.

The new guy Wolfman is "I WANT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD" evil and has no depth.
Every fight scene with him is so boring because you know the characters have plot armor and will never get seriously hurt by him.
He really feels like a bad guys henchmen nothing more or less.
If you haven't seen this movie just wait until its on netflix or is on TV.

Unfortunately this also means little time was allocated to setting a bit more of a story or delve into the personalities of our troubled superheroes. Maybe this was saved for some of the solo films coming up? This however makes us relate to each character a little less than what I would have liked. In saying this, all in all, it met all expectations of a DC franchise film. What I think I mean by this, is that past DC films have a distinct "comic book" feel to them. The camera shots/scenes are somewhat eery at times, the characters (superheroes) spend a lot of time in costume, fly around quite a bit and kick a whole lot of ass. And is it just me, or do DC Superheroes tend to fight like a million underlings (and one main villain) when we compare it to the likes of an X-Men or Deadpool? The camera angles were good, dialogue fair and CGI overused (sadly the norm for a lot of films these days and probably not a criticism on Justice League's shoulders alone). What would have made this brilliant for me, would have meant spending couple more minutes on character development - heck, why not the villain as well. Slowing down some of the scenes and getting some dialogue with substance or dramatic pauses. Hoping Zack Snyder can build on this a little or maybe someone else can give it a bash...? Expand

(I gave both Suicide Squad and BvS a solid 7). Why a '6' though? Simply because this movie is a 'Frankenstein'...if Whedon is simply being commanded to continue Snyder's work, then it would have been great. What they have done, from the look of it, is essentially making the film '3 times'. One: the original Snyder's cut, the second: a revised more comedic take, and finally, a rejiggered version by Whedon, dosed heavily with WB executives' interventions. It's still highly watchable, but be prepared to cringe a lot at some hokey and atrocious effects (i.e. Henry Cavill's 'disappearing' mustache), or a third act that seems to be cobbled together from a 'much better' film. It's too bad as the casts are perfect, the action sequences are stellar with high production values. If left alone, it would have been a great film. But alas, this is what we get. It seems that WB, in a bizarre loss of reason, decided that the best way to shoot a DC movie is to have the film made, then chopped up, reorganized, chopped up some more, reorganized again, rinse and repeat until you get a product that appears to still need a significant amount of polishing done. There's this knee-jerk approach they've seemingly adopted, and the movies are all the worse for it.
Why are Marvel movies so successful? Because it's driven by the same people who have a hand in the comics. DC's movies though? Those are run by people I suspect that do not have a hand in neither the movies nor the comics, Geoff Johns notwithstanding.
The main issue I think is that WB saw Marvel's success and decided that they're going to half-ass copy Marvel's approach and make big team-up superhero movies as quickly as they can, only they had none of Marvel's careful planning in any meaningful way.

Is it any wonder that Ben Affleck is done with the DCEU? This is the norm for WB DC movies, and it won't change as long as WB has control over it. Sadly that disinterest shines through in some of the actors' performances as well, especially so for this version of Batman.

It's bad. Not just this movie (there are good bits in as well here and there, to be completely fair), but the whole current state of the DCEU. It's just bad.

The whole story is just some randomness to create a pretext for violence and explosions, and to give the characters an excuse to pose and say one liners. The casting is all terrible too - everyone is totally forgettable and can be swapped out without being missed, and completely wrong for their roles. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie has it flaws but some good points too. Overall I enjoyed it.
Feels like they tried to sprinkle some Marvel on it with the forced humor instead of doing their own thing.
The best scene of the film was when Superman takes on the Justice league. They should have expanded on that.
They history scene with the Olympians and everyone else taking on Steppenwolf was very cool. Sadly, it only lasted about 20 seconds or whatever. Far far to brief!!

I'm not into writing reviews but after my need to express my anger for what they did to Star Wars, I thought I'd take the chance to write a couple more about controversial movies that I like.

Yes, you may call me shallow or empty but I'm into comics and Star Wars and Game of Thrones and all those fandoms you may have heard of. And well, I remember recently reading how critics were despising Justice League as a bad movie and another bad installment for the saga.

Yes, the same critics that now applaud the "piece of junk" that the so-called genius Rian Johnson filmed called The Last Jedi. The same critics that say Thor Ragnarok is a masterpiece.

Well, I won't hint what many people think regarding their professional opinions and will limit myself to saying I really enjoyed Justice League.

After suffering with how Zack Snyder deconstructed Superman (pretty much what Rian Johnson is doing with Luke Skywalker), I had very low expectations for this film but surprisingly, it turned out to be quite the opposite of what I read in the critics reviews.

I won't spoil the fim and will just say it's got its flaws and subplots you may not enjoy but overall it's a very nice and decent movie based on comics. You can actually imagine the movie as emerging from the frames of a comicbook and that means it's accomplishing its main goal.

Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman carry the rest of the characters, and it feels like an opportunity lost, as the fragmented storytelling, awful CGI, and unpolished cinematography detract from the storyline. The script has some fun moments, and the performances are solid, but this feels disconnected, with no sense of investment in the outcome. Continuing the tradition of taking itself far too seriously, there is no singular aspect that utterly ruins this, and it is fairly well paced, but overall it is a predictably mediocre experience. 4.83/10 Expand

The CGI is downright rotten at times, incredible considering the money that was spent. The worst villain I have ever seen in a comic book movie, never once feels like a threat to the League. The cast is quite charming together and Henry Cavill supplies his best work as Superman and makes me excited for a sequel to Man of Steel. Ultimately though the story is very lacking and there's no interesting action. I'm curious to have seen the product had there not been extensive reshoots but hey. At least it goes by relatively quickly at 2 hours and the two credits scenes are really enjoyable and offer a glimmer of hope for the DCEU. Expand

It's no wonder it's failing at the box office. The confusing and poor script remove any sense of simplicity from the story, and it feels as if nothing is linking the scenes together- the editing is awful. Even films like the phantom menace have that aspect of film making sorted. However, on the other hand, the performances from the actors are all quite good and the action and interesting characters make it seem as if there might have been a good movie in here. A sentence to sum up this movie: Even good performances from the cast can't save this poor, confusing and unsimplistic movie. Expand

Sadly it just didn't live up to this expectation. At first glance, the movie looks nice and it was expected to have a solid plot, but under no circumstances was this film good. As a fan of DC movies of the 21st century this film really puts it away for me. We expected after wonder woman that this would be more thrilling and connect the movies together. The only thing this movie did was take it apart, and hear are some reasons why.

1. Horrible CGI: Seriously, have you seen Steppenwolf's face? Not to mention the last minute details that cost 25 million dollars to 'remove' Henry Cavil's mustache.

2. Stale plot: This film could not get worse in terms of it's pacing. It goes from one scene to the other in a matter of moments, without laying a proper carpet down for entry.

3. Useless spectacles: You'd expect this film to have some fight scenes that are worthy of sitting down with some popcorn and having your mind blown. Nope. I have more, but I'd rather not take an extra large crap on this and try to focus on the positives of this film.

1. The Jokes: Now the jokes aren't exactly funny, but considering that you're staying in a 2 hour long movie with nothing to amaze you, you WILL be trying your best to laugh at the jokes as much as possible.

Now if this review is lower than your expectations, it may have also been to do with the person that was sitting next to me whispering "oooooHhhh It's FLASH" and "Aquaman is such a badass"

In conclusion, this movie is worth seeing if your a die hard DC fan but casual cinema goers beware. Unless you just watch it brain-dead to get rid of some stress. Anyways,
Have a good one.
