Lots of action. More screentime for the original cast. One thing I noticed is that they had some animatronics, so that's an interesting choice.

At some point it felt like it was a bit too long, however this is the final jurassic park movie. Some things in the story felt corny and unnatural. I would've liked to see more of how dinosaurs adjusted to the new world environment.

Overall, it's not meant to be die hard serious as negative reviews are taking it. Still, it's enjoyable and nostalgic.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally enjoyed it. It definitely Rode off nostalgia and fan service but It still was really cool seeing the old cast unite with the new cast. I went in expecting it to be really Dumb but fun And turned my brain for the movie and it was exactly what I was expecting. However the movie Dragged in the middle In Malta when it turned into an action movie for a little but picked back up in the valley scenes. The new characters were surprisingly likable too. A lot better than Jurassic Park 3 and Fallen kingdom and definitely on par with lost world in terms of plot with a lot more fan service thrown in. The CGI, Practical effects, stunts and set pieces were really Good too. Expand

The nostalgia of seeing the original cast, and a few cool scenes with some never-before-seen dinosaurs are about the only redeeming moments of what is otherwise a badly written, disjointed story and overall disappointing experience for fansThe nostalgia of seeing the original cast, and a few cool scenes with some never-before-seen dinosaurs are about the only redeeming moments of what is otherwise a badly written, disjointed story and overall disappointing experience for fans of Jurassic Park. This is the first movie of the entire series that really makes dinosaurs the least threatening element of the film, which is probably relevant given the circumstances of the world right now. The beginning jumps right in where the previous movie left off, with dinosaurs roaming freely across the world in every major country, state and city. In short: dinosaurs are not nearly as dangerous and terrifying if they are left alone and have a whole world to roam in. This is a major departure from the source material, Michael Crichton’s brilliant novels of the same name, where dinosaurs being unnaturally resurrected from the ancient past displaces man as the dominant species of the earth. The dinosaurs are not at risk by man, but the other way around. The new Jurassic World trilogy flips this paradigm to make an obvious nod to modern animal rights and preservation movements. The change in philosophy does not serve the point of the movies as being suspenseful monster films. They probably don’t even realize it, but it actually patronizes nature itself when it portrays the largest and most dangerous creatures to ever live on earth, still at man’s mercy to be saved.

Each sequel has an evil or irresponsible corporation at the center, messing with nature for it’s own gain. In this one, it’s a new corporation called Biosyn (read: Bio Sin) that has created a prehistoric locust that was secretly released into the world (which they are covering up) and is threatening to destroy the food supply. Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) one of the original cast members from the first movie wants to investigate the corporate headquarters to prove this was a lab-leak (sounds familiar). The scenes with the original cast bring back warm memories of the first film and trilogy, and they seemed pleased to be back. They brought charisma to the story and their scenes were more enjoyable than their counterparts. If they had focused the story on fewer characters, I think they would have more time to develop a plot.

The final failure of the movie was not telling a good story. The locust theme ends up being paper thin and under-developed, along with the “villains” of Biosyn or what it is was they were actually trying to do. It would have been cool to see more of the “evil corporation” theme developed and perhaps show a lesson on real corporate greed, since that’s obviously what they wanted to do. On a positive note, there are some very interesting new species of dinosaurs showcased. At least two scenes provide a genuine jump scare, and there are some excellent visuals. The dinosaurs were there for thrills and danger, but the movie was about taking down a corporation and stopping a global plague. And once all the usual chase scenes and explosions we’ve seen a million times were through, and all pointless characters had their backstories filled in, even at 2.5 hours there was too little time to develop a compelling, central story.

I would probably advise that even fans of the series save themselves a pricey movie ticket and stream this when it’s available. For those looking for a suspenseful monster flick, go ahead and skip.

There were so many sub plots that happened that I couldn’t keep up where the movie was going and could barely take in where it had been. I swear at one point I realized that they had “Pitch Meeting” their way of getting out of situations with such “super easy barely and inconvenience” that I gave up and just tuned out the dialogue. That’s when it started to enjoy it. Just the spectacle. It’s too bad because there were a couple of legitimately great ideas that they could have focused on instead of flopping down the next “high stakes problem” that fell flat because there was rarely any tension on screen. Also apparently the CEO of Apple, AKA “Tim Apple” (ha), is now biotech guy. None of that was subtle and I actually liked that. Can’t recommend the movie to fans of the franchise, but kids will enjoy it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Final visit to the Jurassic world
Good dinosaur action scenes but the plot could have been better. This is my first review on Metacritic so keep that In mind. I went into the film wanting a nice enjoyable film about how Dinosaurs have took over the planet and how it effects the humans living among them.
"life finds a way" It was good seeing the old cast from Jurassic Park and it work well when the old cast getting introduced to the newer cast. The chase scenes with the Velociraptors chasing the new cast was really exciting to watch and getting to see underground organisation on how they transport the dinosaurs to the sanctuary was good to learn too.

Why I have the score of a 6? Overall, I thought it was good popcorn action movie and I enjoy my time with the movie. The special effects of the dinosaurs was good, the music was ok, the acting was good but I felt some of the lines were a bit cringle at times. It only happened once or twice. The plot was ok but I felt that more could have been done. I would have liked to see more conflict between the wildlife of today and the dinosaurs like a loin going up against a T-rex would have been really cool. I also felt that characters were too safe at times, what I means is you have a lot of characters since at this point of the franchise it would have been a good to see some characters go out in a blaze of glory so I would feel something for these characters and my score would go up but at least 1 point but instead barely get injured.(If you watch the film at the point where the characters exit the plane you will get what I mean). The Locust plot was a bit out there. I did see what the point of the Locust was but don't really get why create something like this in the first place. The final battle, I thought was very satisfying. Could I recommend this movie? sure. go for it. If you are wanting a fun time with dinosaurs, watching characters escape death from being a dinosaur happy meal then I recommend this movie.
(update on review 11/6/22) I would say now the film is above average movie and 6 is more reasonable score and I thought a 7 was being too generous.
visuals 6/10
music 5/10
characters 6/10

It's the writing: hands-down the worst writing of any movie I've seen recently except Morbius. The dialogue is bland, the humour falls flat, the character interactions are soulless, the structure is non-existent and the CGI looks cheap. It also follows the trend of homogenizing all animals into our friendly pals: with every movie that comes out nowadays wild creatures are portrayed more and more like dogs or domesticated animals. They do this because it will satisfy the largest demographic even if it totally blows. They do this because Hollywood is garbage.

Also the plot, without going into too much detail: it sucks. I know pretty much everyone who's ever seen the other movies is going to have to see JW Dominion so if you're among them just set the bar very low in your mind. There were more than a handful of lines that made me full cringe. Hell, Emily Carmichael even wrote herself into the movie fan-girling over Ian Malcolm. Wouldn't even care if the movie weren't so horribly written, but to lay such a huge cinematic fart and dive right into it... Seriously though, this, Morbius, Dr.Strange 2, Sam Raimi? The chick who wrote the awful Pacific Rim sequel, the guy who wrote Gods of Egypt and the dude who full on ruined the original Spiderman trilogy after giving it okay-but-very-corny beginnings: This is who Hollywood hires. Morons. Actual talentless people profiting insane amounts off of nepotism.

And the acting, on top of everything else it was just all around kinda bad. Jeff Goldblum was the only character that felt right because he's Jeff Goldblum. Otherwise even the old pros like Sam Niell were delivering some lines in a weird way, like they only did one take. Watching Jurassic World Dominion felt like sitting through a toothless Jurassic Park children's series.

It is leagues better than Fallen Kingdom, that film didn’t have enough dinosaurs in my opinion. Though, something this film sort of misses, like Fallen Kingdom, is a hybrid dinosaur. Like the Indominus Rex was such a cool feature of World.

That said, I enjoyed watching this film in the cinema, it’s a lot of fun.

Probably not, but it is still a good story. I believe the creators were smart to take the last movie in a different direction. They were smart to use new locations and take the story to Europe, and after five movies, you do have to consider in what other ways these experiments and scientific break-throughs affect the world - hence the locusts and Maisy plotlines. You can play the same cards only so many times! I personally enjoy the personification of the dinosaurs as well… it lends the story more complexity, they’re not just the pure evil antagonists. It also pushes to consider our morality. Is it realistic? Probably not, but again, what is realistic in dinos coming alive? Expand

Bigger and scarier dinosaurs, heart-pounding sound effects, and plot twists mixed with plenty of adventures are just what you can expect from Jurassic World Dominion! From the beginning to the end of the movie, there are tons of action-packedBigger and scarier dinosaurs, heart-pounding sound effects, and plot twists mixed with plenty of adventures are just what you can expect from Jurassic World Dominion! From the beginning to the end of the movie, there are tons of action-packed scenes to keep you literally jumping for more. Fans of the Jurassic Park franchise will not be disappointed. Jurassic World Dominion centers around two different storylines. On one hand, Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), a teenager, who happens to be a clone of her biological mother, is kidnapped and taken to a company called Biosyn to become a science experiment so scientists can learn how her biological mother created her. On the other hand, her parents, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), set out on an adventure to rescue her. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) is suspicious of the works of Biosyn and its animal experiments, as well as its attempt to take over the food chain. She brings in Alan Grant (Sam Neill) to help her stop Biosyn from taking over. The two storylines eventually combine for one suspenseful adventure that happens to take place all while dinosaurs are threatening the characters' existence. The main characters in this film are Maisie, Claire, Owen, Alan, Ellie, and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). There are references and character appearances from other movies in the Jurassic Park franchise. I enjoyed seeing how characters from different parts of the film join together to save Maisie and end up trying to save each other and become a family while working together. There are some funny scenes throughout the film, and I loved seeing the characters communicating with the dinosaurs and even making them promises. The movie takes you on an emotional rollercoaster as you root for the good guys to not only survive but to win.
This film touches on family and whether or not dinosaurs and humans can co-exist. You’ll have to watch the movie to find out. While I highly enjoyed Jurassic World Dominion, this film may not be suitable for people who have certain fears/anxieties or even suffer from PTSD. Parents should look out for scenes with extreme violence, gory deaths, and loads of jump scares. I give Jurassic World Dominion 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for kids ages 12 to 18, plus adults. This film roars into theaters on June 10, 2022. By Tiana S., KIDS FIRST!

There was just a little too much science stuff and exposition in the early part of the movie that kind of put me to sleep. But, once the dinosaurs really entered the picture and people started running and screaming, it had my full attention. I loved seeing all the characters in one movie - Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, Claire, Owen and Maisie, as well as a few others we have already met and some cool new characters. It is the highly anticipated sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise. In Dominion, we find out whether the dinosaurs, who were released into the world at the end of Fallen Kingdom, have been integrated into the greater society and what effect their presence has on the broader ecosystem. It’s been almost 30 years since we were first introduced to dinosaurs in modern times; but, six films later, are we still in awe of the scientific feats of DNA splicing and cloning? Here’s whether going back to Jurassic World is worth all of that anticipation.

Jurassic World: Dominion brings back Owen Grady (Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Howard), who are raising the teenage clone, Maisie Lockwood (Sermon). They are protecting her from evil corporate interests who seek to capture and study her for their own nefarious reasons. Also, Elli Sattler (Dern) and Alan Grant (Neill) are back to investigate a potential ecological disaster brought on by genetically modified locusts rabidly devouring the world’s crops. Then, there is Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) and Ramsay Cole (Athie) as fixtures of the corporation, Biosyn, which is at the center of all of these machinations. There’s also a dynamic pilot, Kayla Watts (Wise), and a manipulative CEO of Biosyn, Lewis Dodgson (Scott). Oh man, did I forget anything? Um… prehistoric ravenous hijinks ensue.

Okay, as you can see, there is a lot going on in Jurassic World: Dominion. It’s not necessarily complicated, but it is a lot to follow. These Jurassic Park movies always have a bit of an issue getting bogged down explaining the science of this all. In Dominion, they have to talk about genetic splicing and cloning and ecology, and it just goes on and on. Sattler and Grant are focused on stealing the DNA of these destructive locusts to prove that Biosyn is evil. Owen and Claire are focused on protecting Maisie from Biosyn. In a sense, it feels like so much is going on that there is not enough time for the characters to run and scream from the dinosaurs. That’s the unfortunate part if you really like that aspect from the original.

Despite these reservations of the plot, the movie does have its exciting parts. There are dinosaur chases through the streets, through the jungle and through the Biosyn facilities. DeWanda Wise plays a tough-as-nails, wisecracking pilot, who seems to be the most competent of all of our characters. She gets good one-liners and has a magnetic personality. Her presence adds a lot of energy to what could become stale. I’ll also note that the legacy characters of Sattler, Grant and Malcolm give exactly what you want. It’s like no time has passed at all. The nostalgia is very high and they effectively scratch that Jurassic Park itch.

Ultimately, Jurassic World: Dominion is an enjoyable, escapist summer blockbuster. The problem here is that there is too much going on and it doesn’t exactly all come together. There are probably too many characters that distract from the main attraction – the dinosaurs. Nevertheless, there are good dinosaur chases and exciting moments with a great new character played by DeWanda Wise. While I wouldn’t call Jurassic World: Dominion essential, it certainly is good enough for a matinee viewing, so get your bowl of popcorn.

A transformation of sorts was to be expected given how Fallen Kingdom ended, but I doubt anyone could have predicted as big of a reinvention as this. The Jurassic Park/World series has been rendered almost entirely unrecognizable were it not for the prehistoric monsters running around onscreen, and not because they are now living among everyday humans. Rather, it's due to Dominion's absolutely LUDICROUS storytelling.

To say the plotting jumps the shark here would be putting it incredibly mildly. The narrative reaches near The Asylum levels of nonsensical as it covers every outlandish sci-fi concept from women giving asexual birth to genetically modified versions of themselves, dinos that are trained to attack via a laser pointer, to mad scientists hell-bent on world domination (or its destruction). Why they felt the need to concoct a tale this absurd, convoluted, and undeniably dorky I have no idea, but it did leave me glued to the screen in a sense of delirious fascination regardless while it seemed the writers were simply throwing whatever wild idea they had up there next just to see what would stick.

The sheer B-movie ridiculousness of the whole thing will (and already has) turn many off on this. Especially since it's part of a franchise that initially kicked off with a bit more gravitas. Personally though, it didn't bother me much at all. That's because I've only ever really turned up to these to watch dinosaurs chase and eat people in the first place, so it's hard for me to fault a film offering that too much so long as the thrills are in place. And oh boy, let me tell you, they are. The body count is disappointingly low, but that was offset for me by the constant excitement of witnessing some never-before used species and the protagonists' near misses with them, like the glorious extended getaway sequence through the streets and underground black markets of Malta. I wish they had continued the globetrotting around populated cities throughout the entire running time rather than retreating to another isolated research facility/haven location in the second half.

Of course, Dominion also falls back on the modern cinema trapping of trying to get by on nostalgia pandering as well by bringing back the original three heroes of the 1993 hit and its first two sequels. Some of the resulting callbacks can feel a touch gratuitous, the main villain's death being extremely similar to Nedry's for example, yet their inclusion ultimately fixed my biggest issue with this movie's most direct predecessor by finally giving me individuals I actually care about to watch as opposed to the bland nobodies who have been carrying the show up to this point since its revival. The real stars however are the various 'saurs on display. I think a far too underappreciated aspect of the World trilogy has been its ability to turn these creatures from bloodthirsty beasts into complex and thoughtful animals capable of striking a chord with the audience. There are some genuinely moving moments with them such as a scene with two Apatosauruses in a lumberyard that hits with the same impact as when Alan Grant first saw that Brachiosaurus all those years ago. They even have feathers now for all you nitwits who couldn't let that go.

I won't pretend this is a deep, high-quality experience. It's dumb, turn-your-brain-off junk food filmmaking at its most overblown and preposterous. Pure, unhealthy garbage that if I'm being totally honest was a blast to consume. In ironically hilarious fashion director Colin Trevorrow made several conscious efforts to correct the various shortcomings of Jurassic Park III by reuniting Sattler and Grant, and once again establishing the T-Rex at the top of the food chain after its pitiful showing in that outing, but inadvertently made something fans will view as a much greater piece of trash. Although at the end of the day it'll always be a minor treasure to me. I recognize that the franchise should have never been allowed to reach such a confounding low in terms of intelligence and respectability. I guess I'm just easily pleased by cheap spectacle, the amusing comments of Ian Malcolm, and the stunning CGI sight of my favorite animals as a child (and probably still now).

Dominion is criticised for its meshing of two separate plots together and whilst I agree that there was too much preparation for the merge of the stories, I don’t see it as a huge problem with this film. For me the worst part about the film was the soundtrack, a lot of the music just seemed off. And a few sloppy lines of dialogue from the actors/actresses are noticeable but apart from that, I found this movie pretty fun and interesting.

It’s not what people expected from this ‘finale’ but I like the idea and the direction they went for this movie. The characters feel right for the movie. Franklin's character was hugely improved, as was Claire. Maisy is hit or miss but I was fine with her portrayal and the new characters, especially Ramsey were great.

As for the dinosaur scenes, I think the vast increase in new dinosaurs was awesome! Lots of Giganotosaurus action which was great to see, and even Rexy got some good screen time. It’s a shame they cut the prologue to this movie, but the film is quite long so it is understandable, maybe they’ll have some more deleted scenes on the DVD release. Both the VFX and the Practical effects are well done, for the most part, you won’t notice any of the lesser quality CGI unless you really slow the movie down and this is just not fair to criticise because why would you slow down a fast-paced action scene to .25 of a second.

Overall, this film will divide opinions, I know many aren’t pleased with the film, especially critics. This is the first Jurassic movie since JPIII that attempts something that isn’t a complete remaster of an already produced story. I think that this movie is good, it has flaws but it’s better than fallen kingdom (a movie I actually enjoyed) and for that, it ranks as my third favourite movie of the 6, and it is certainly a fun movie to watch, I disagree with it being labelled as 'boring'.

Like most of these so called new reboot-sequel, the quality declines with every installment. It has a lot of potential in the beginning, before dwelling into the same 'dino in an enclosed space' routine of the past installments. At times, with so many cast members, it feels like two films, with two different storyline that seemingly never gels together. All in all, a truly missed opportunity for this franchise. Expand

It’s nice that there’s a raptor with feathers. Though, why ? A couple of dinosaurs were let loose and raptors suddenly look how they are supposed to ?
There’s a little too many heroes and it never felt like any were in danger. The movie needed more villains with guns to be eaten.
With that said it was nice to see the Jurassic Park characters team with the Jurassic World characters. Though all they really get to do is run away from dinosaurs together. While saying that they know each other’s work.

The movie should have trimmed out some unnecessary scenes, at times it was boring and dragged on. The final fight was a bit of a let down. Compared to previous films in the series, the dinosaurs feel the least threating, as barley anyone dies in the movie. It would have been far better if they did not include the locust storyline as it felt out of place and forced with the rest of the movie. With the exception of the Giganotosaurus, the new dinosaurs were all amazing additions. The Therizinosaurus was especially great, as well as some new prehistoric animals not included in the trailers. The main human villain was mediocre and forgettable. The Giganotosaurus was a disappointment and boring. The parts of the movie that do work, however, are amazing. The dinosaurs are by far the best part of the film. The inclusion of the original characters was also a welcomed addition. Overtime, hopefully others will warm up to Dominion. Expand

More comments:
I have seen no critics mention what's obvious to me as a writer. Maisie Lockwood is set up to be the lead for the next JP movie. A better script would have set-up better and expanded on the underground Malta dinosaur "cock fighting" scene and the ensuing escape of creatures. Sam Neil is again the trustworthy father figure of earlier editions. I responded to him. His best role?
Jeff Goldblum is again the guy you want to stick it to greedy corporations.
The script puts Bryce Howard in a grade B horror movie and leaves her there.
The direction really is bare minimum. My guess is once Trevor knew the film primarily serves the next installment starring Maisie, he just endured the live shoot and a year or more of daily VFX approval Zoom meetings.

The same is true for me with Jurassic World Dominion where the film neither surprised nor disappointed me. It was such a surefire good movie for me. Story-wise, fine, but nothing great. Of course, the action scenes pulled it off, which is a given for this franchise. On the one hand, it was nice to see old Jurassic Park characters return. Nothing epic or breathtaking for me. It was just good, like the whole movie. I enjoyed the final battle, although I thought it could have been a bit longer. But maybe there would have been too much action. What the fans of the franchise think of it I don't know, but a friend of mine who is a fan had the same opinion, saying that it is a good movie and nothing more, and even as a non-fan I feel the same way. Obviously Spielberg's original is on another level compared to anything else, so that goes without saying, but this one was at times a joyous, heartfelt ride. There are some action sequences that feel like something out of a Bourne movie, only with Dinosaurs giving chase, that are well executed fun. There are clunkier moments as they lay out the plot points, but this is done with considerable aplomb under the circumstances of the mess left behind by previous entries in the franchise. Somehow this one manages to bring back characters from the original without feeling like pandering or fanservice, giving them meaty believable arcs (considering the franchise with that statement), while also building a pretty solid core out of the previously awful characters of the last 2 films. Sometimes you have to take a film for what it wants to be, and if you do, I think many will agree that Jurassic World Dominion delivers on its promises. Expand

Fun seeing high quality interesting CG dinosaurs. Better dinosaur variety compared to other films. The bad? The plot. How the humans behave. How the dinosaurs behave. To the point I believe no-one attached to the script has even kept pets. Gone are the days of researching how animals behave and basing dinosaur behavior and scenes on that. In this film most of the dinosaurs acted like that third henchman in TV fight scenes. The one that stands back and looks menacing until it is their turn to one on one fight the hero. Because the plot says so. All the good guys had too much plot armor. Surviving a definitely fatal plane crash. Holding their hands up at times got dinosaurs (untrained) to back off. Not bite that off. The dinosaurs also had a sort of plot armor. The kind often offered to women in action films. Hero can't kill/maim dinosaur. Only a bad guy or other dinosaur is allowed to do that. Sure dinosaurs eats humans and this one is trying to eat our hero. But with all the plot armor neither side is taking damage from the fight. So many times! It took a lot of the excitement out of the film. Lead to several bizarre and less believable exchanges. There was fun and some nostalgia to be had. But not good overall. Expand

While it can be considered a reasonable improvement from the previous installment of this franchise, "Jurassic World Dominion’’ still fails somewhat miserably to wither off its ever-so-present DNA of bad writing and dialogue.

It offers some significant ballistic action paired up with a hint of tension sprinkled around for good measure. The plot is... plain and dry and revolves around an unnecessary device to give us a reason as to why our old crew is being put back into the mix. The visual aesthetics and the typical JP level of CGI and practical effects are a sure treat to an individual who enjoys a bit of "eye candy," but that alone cannot save this movie.

This movie is without a doubt the least "Jurassic Park-like film" in the whole saga. It’s certainly not the worst, but it does not offer the decent amount of creativity or imagination that some of its prequels had. This movie barely clears the extremely-low bar set by the World Trilogy. However, you may still, unfortunately, leave the theatre with a bit of a headache.

Dominion still has enough going on to keep it both exciting and fun for audiences. The film’s successful marriage of hardcore nostalgia and new challenges works in its favor, and I can’t wait to see what the franchise does next. An expensive movie with famous actors should not be so empty! It is impossible not to use the fertile idea of dinosaurs in the modern world at all! Why was it not to develop the finale of the second film, why was it necessary to drive the dinosaurs back to the reservations, when anything could be done from the third "World": from psychological drama to the apocalypse?.. It does not leave a feeling that this is not the third part of the "World" that should be removed, that this is not a story at all, but a working out of "homework". Corny, boring – what could be sadder?.. Expand

In addition many dialogues are stupid and redundant. The acting was also not always best, only the character Chris Pratt and his Owen Grady is convincing, many others are not. The story isnt interesting either and the villain is boring.

But there are some good sides of the movie: the beginning is not bad, the special effects are great and I liked to see Malta as a location.

Though it was fun to see the classic characters and a couple good new ones, it was just strange storytelling that didn’t work at all. I was bored even when the intense action scenes came along, partly because of the bad storytelling, but also because the action scenes themselves had a strange removed quality to them with endless ridiculous and extreme occurrences with no stakes or sense of peril to the main characters. The whole movie felt like a big mess. Reminded me of the feelings I had watching Rise of Skywalker as far as weird, lifeless storytelling trying to close out an epic blockbuster franchise. Expand

"What's the plan?"
"Whatever happens, that's the plan."
With dialogue like this the writers should stay on strike... permanently.

It was interesting plot and bringing back original actors from first movies like Sam Neil and Laura Dern was fun but too many mutant dinosaurs ruins it for me ,at this point they are more aliens then dinosaurs.

Sometimes you watch a movie that's so inept, so shockingly stupid, that you have to question how grown adults could have possibly written it. Jurassic World Dominion is one such movie.

A prime example of pure hackery, this latest dreck brought to us by Colin Trevorrow isn't just the worst Jurassic Park movie, this is one of the worst studio franchise films ever made. A movie that is so aggressively dumb you can feel your brain cells slowly evaporating with each new asinine development that occurs throughout its excruciating 2-and-a-half hour runtime.

NOSTALGIA TIME!

A long back then, who never felt the dinosaur hype? This movie clearly to lit our nostalgic memories about that hype! All the cast from the old movies to the latest movies are perfectly aligned in this movie. Also, rumors said this is the last movie for Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to be cast.

There are 2 main plots: a) the special kid of brilliant dinosaurs scientist, Maisie Lockwood accidentally hunted down coz she have special DNA; and b) Biosyn company that secretly develops illegal research about dinosaurs, their crop product, and gonna create unintentional global disaster. Ofc, both plots brought us to all the old cast and the new cast.

Nostalgia seems vividly can be felt. The screenplay looks like purposively creates nostalgia, especially the scene and the moment. The great cast also supports the greatness of this movie blockbuster. They are well-performed to give specific char personality.

However, the main cons are the ordinary storyline. Nothin great or amusing enough. Thrillin sensation or emotional moment? Nah-uh! Besides, every char seems just standard quality or nothing prominent enough. Maybe because they're trying to be fair to give equal screen time for a lot of great actors. Nevertheless, the visuals and music are just fine.

In conclusion, it's a good movie to lit our nostalgia for dinosaur phenomenon. It makes us more soothed as if we've passed a long-life journey coz we barely realized how long have been passed since the 1st movie of these came to us. Watch it or missed it, nothin' special but it is still good.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok, I just want to say that everything I'll be writing comes from someone who loves the Jurassic world and park movies. But even with that being said, my god, this movie fell so flat on its ass. Ima be real here, the movie wasn't terrible, it's watchable, and you can watch it again without feeling like your skin is peeling off. However, that doesn't change the fact that this movie was so mediocre. I'm only going to be focusing on the plot because the visuals are really good, but that's for like all the Jurassic World Movies, so it really doesn't matter. Now the plot itself has its bad moments. I think a perfect example is the oversized bugs. Why does this exist? Like really you could've made it anything else to even FIT the dinosaur storyline, but you chose bugs so they can rig the food system. How does this have to do anything with Jurassic World? This story plot itself takes down the movie so badly and puts a bad taste in your mouth. Everything else in the movie is alright, like stealing the young kid, which felt interesting for the most part, liked that they gave her more character, as I felt that was kind of lacking in the movie. Also, another problem I have with this movie is that it takes more of the approach of it being dinosaurs that are affected by humans, rather than the more interesting plot of dinosaurs affecting humans. Sure in the Fallen Kingdom they were released into the wild, but the movie did such a piss poor job of making them sound intense. Honestly, this movie felt like a massive slap in the face to people who loved the movies. Expand

These dinos, we’ve seen them before and better. This kind of sequel is just spinning the wheels.

Some of the worst in this movie is in the casting. The villain is dressed up like Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, Inc. The thing about Tim Cook is that he is the breed of second generation CEOs that are not as controversial as the founding CEOs. All in all, a Tim Cook character makes for a boring villain.

Later in the movie, we meet a dinosaur smuggler who looks like a professional model. Despite riding in her old propeller plane and trading in dusty, desert markets, this smuggler always finds time to apply full makeup. Some of the dinosaur smugglers and scientists are also unbelievably pretty. Thousands of hours were spent making the dinosaurs look real, but mere minutes were spent trying to cast the right actors. The story itself goes from dumb to dumber. The move starts with a plague of giant Cretaceous locusts destroying crops around the midwest. This is supposed to be some kind of mystery, but these locusts are the size of a cat and farm groups would be up in arms over this type of devastation. (Never mind that these giant bugs would have trouble breathing in our lower oxygen environment.) Once again, the world is oblivious to an obvious threat and only small group of plucky heroes can save the day. The dinosaur fights have become stale. You can now watch a documentary on TV that has more realistic dinosaurs and dinosaur encounters. The dinosaurs all helpfully pause to roar before lunging at our plucky heroes. And of course no one seems to understand that dinosaurs are not bullet proof. (Jurassic World 4: Bullet Proof Dinos). I really could not stand how cliche this move is. From the mustache twirling villain to the dinosaur fights to the breakdown of the security that protects humans from dinosaurs. I hit fast forward through quite a bit of this middling effort. Writing matters. Details matter. A few Oscar winning actors will not save a movie. I hope this film series is now extinct.

"Brandization and reiteration are the watchwords" (Emanuele Sacchi) of a blockbuster in the current "Franchise Age" (Alessio Baronci): a stunt movie plus a vfx movie with a poor and insubstantial plot. Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are the true prehistoric beings brought back to life in this eco-environmentalist episode where the most frequent scene is that of the dinosaurs opening wide their jaws: not to devour but to yawn.
