A certain aspect of the story is lost, though, when there is no clear narrative. Louis became a fully developed character, yet those around him were distant and unfamiliar. I enjoyed the acting here. Claudia and Louis's daughter were enchanting in a way I can't quite put my finger on. They seemed free, they seemed natural. While their story of angst and complicated love may have become convoluted and to the point where their acting careers had no meaning to me and the suicide attempt did not even make me take a second look, I loved watching their walks and the little girl's witty banter. The big picture aspects of their life were dull and uninspired, while the small details were utterly fascinating.

Jealousy was a mix that I've never quite seen before. The use of black & white film added to the coldness and apathy that we eventually see in Claudia, after all, jealousy was never meant to be warm.
