Horror movie made in 2022, which was made a new cycle but failed to become a classic. The characters in the last episode are like a comedy element. The characters in the last episode are like a comedy element. I am constantly wondering how far it will continue with the same subject. The only good thing about the movie is that Christopher Young's soundtrack played in the first and second episodes is also included in this episode. Yes, I've wished for this before. But with a good finale, I wished. I think the movie's rating is so high. It is impossible for this movie to get 6 points. 6 points means almost good for a horror movie. This movie is not good. If you ask an ordinary person to write a script for the Hellraiser movie, whose outlines are clear, it will produce such a scenario in the worst case. Also, when you look at the relationships in the movie, one wonders if it's a Netflix production. I end with the words of a teacher. "No, sit down, zero"

There is sexuality and nudity in the movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It starts out strong, then steadily slides into boring, silly, and stupid. A bunch of characters we don't necessarily care about running around yelling at each other while Cenobites patiently wait around for gates to open and close. The most disappointing aspect of the film, though, must be the makeup design. Though aesthetically intricate, none of the Cenobites look at all intimidating, or as though the torments wrought upon their flesh were, like, painful. Rather, they come across as elaborate plastic action figures. Not to mention the pearl-tipped pins, which never failed to elicit a chuckle. Every good idea in the film is in someway cribbed from the original or its sequel, and every bad idea -- and there are many -- is unique to this version. Note to screenwriters: If I don't care what happens to the characters, then the rest of the movie doesn't matter, okay? Expand

But no, this is actually a terrible film. The main character is just pure annoying who literally never makes a good decision. "Plot twists" include people simply falling when running away, and more bad decision horror tropes. Oh a dark dungeon door is opening while we're in a mostly haunted house, why not go in all alone to take a look around, without even telling anybody? The last 15-20 minutes is actually OK, but the rest I had to watch on 1.5x speed. The whole movie is just lame, it does not offer anything more than a noname C-category 90s horror flick. No bright ideas or creativity of any sort, no mind-bending. And I really don't remember... biting from the previous movies. Expand

The cenobites were all too similar looking and lacked unique, creative designs to make each one stand out. Pinhead, played by trans actress Jamie Clayton, is arguably the second worst version of the character (beaten only by the Pinhead from Revelations). With an awful effect on her voice, You felt no sense of intimidation or that this was the leader, the one to truly fear of the cenobites. Instead, It felt like they pulled a cosplayer off the street and had her stand in place.

As for the rest of the characters, They're too blandly written to care about. They're given too little to say or do to feel properly developed. And the cast doesn't help matters either with the need to over-act even the simplest things. The story itself is fine but the twist is a little too predictable and the only thing truly satisfying about it is the ending, even though it was still a tad bit cliche.

I truly went into this with an open mind but honestly, I preferred the previous reboot (Judgement) over this. This one was as copy and paste as you could possibly get, At least Judgement tried to be something different and for the most part succeeded. As a long-time fan of the franchise, I wouldn't recommend it at all. There are much better sequels in the series than this.

The only way I can describe it is slow and boring. You can spend the first twenty minutes doing something else before the film presents anything even moderately interesting and not miss out on anything.

This not-quite-reboot, not-quite-sequel, not-quite-reimagining lacks the creativity, insanity and the no-f***s-given attitude of the first two Hellraisers. Characters are uninteresting, their motives are weak, the main villain Voight is bland, not even remotely as memorable as Channard, the Cenobites are too stylized and de-sexualized, therefore they are not as unnerving as in the original two movies. This Nu Hellraiser is too scared to do anything even remotely out-of-the-box, so it sticks close to horror conventions and cliches, instead of pushing the boundaries.

Overall, while better than the sequels that came after Hellbound, it's still a big disappointment.

They will also attack people that did not even touch the box. Those alone makes this a failure. But the bad acting, writing, and directing all contribute to drag it a bit lower. People do not even bother bleeding when the director forgot about it, or decided that a major wound only bleeds for the first three seconds. With the removal of greed/desire driving the solution to the box being a major factor in summoning the cenobites, this loses a lot of the franchise's draw. Also, when the configurations can be solved super easily, such as when two people are just tugging on it a bit, the puzzle nature is completely lost.

Metacritic is blocking discussion about a certain character, and I have to keep it vague or the review will never post. The major downside to the charcter is that they do not have the presence that the previous actor had, and that the director could not be bothered to add in some vocal FX to make them more menacing. But those are pet peeves compared to the rest of the issues. It just adds to the lack of menace that the new cenobites have.

Dialogue is forgettable, plot is a jagged mess, most acting is entry level acting school quality, the main characters are forgettable, to list a few negatives. There are a few moments of gore that are entertaining, and some of the cenobite makeup is above average effort, but they do not incite much fright. The last scene in the movie is, by far, the best, and it is a shame the rest of the movie is not on par with it. Seems too much effort was spent on appeasing a woke agenda checklist, not much attention on writing, or hiring decent actors. As is, Hellraiser 1 and 2 are still the vastly superior films in the series. I can only recommend Hellraiser 2022 as a one-time viewing if you are really bored, and desperate for a new horror film to view. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. God awful, this is the most boring horror movie I have ever watched. How do you make Hellraiser boring? This made me appreciate the it's so bad it's good Jeepers Creepers Reborn, I can at least laugh and cringe at it. It's so boring I kept checking to see how much time was left. 2 hours and nothing to say. If I had to guest this movie was directed by a special effects artist, because that's the only thing done right. Annoying characters yelling nonstop giving me migraines that aren't developed enough to where you care about them, 50 minutes in and only 3 deaths, and a simple plot unnecessarily stretched out for no reason whatsoever(30 minutes could have been cut).
TLDR: Awesome special effects/cool looking ceno bites, and everything is weak or horrible.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Being a huge fan, I was looking forward to this remake. I thought the new pinhead was very well done, also the scenes were set up very well. Unfortunately most the remaining cast looks like they came from magazine ads & various tv commercials. No realistic appearing people with any resemblance of a genuine real world human being. Just boring cookie cutter characters with some woke-ness sprinkled in. Dialog and storyline wasn’t any better. A small twist at the end which is easy to predict part way through isn’t enough to save the movie. Pinhead and the cenobites carry this film. The lead girl does her best to work with the crappy writing and is the only halfway relatable character. The rest is pretty much Hollywood commercialized redundant trash. Expand

So the person that gets cut is taken to Hell as sort of a payment. It doesn't seem to bother who "solves" the puzzle box. But who exactly gets the "prize"? Initially it was Voight because he was the owner - what other reason could there be, because he didn't solve the puzzle. But after Voight, what are the rules? Who gets the configuration prize, and based on what rules?

And finally, suppose the owner solves the puzzle but also cuts himself and is therefore taken to hell as payment. Now what? Who gets the configuration prize? Nobody is there! Unless there's some exception. But the point is that this movie tries to introduce a rule-based puzzle box world, yet does not provide sufficient rules to make it comprehensive. Instead, this movie appears to do whatever is convenient.

The pleasure box is no longer a mystery. It has become deterministic and nihilistic; When the old style Cenobites were summoned, they would investigate the reason. And based on what they find, they would provide their own interpretation where they do not show to know the difference between pleasure and pain. Now that approach has content! And that has been killed off now.

The executives don't care for such things. This resulted in incoherence of the world in this movie.

This movie only exists to promote wokeness and to destroy more culture from the west.

Soon enough you'll see two gay men in bed, Pinhead is played by a transsexual (it actually makes sense but don't think for a second that "making sense" is the reason they did this) and... if you look closely at the end, you'll see a golden statue of a man with his head down and arms spread. What does it resemble? Baphomet! This image is shown in multiple scenes where the statue is seen in the background. Again, better believe this is on purpose.

Its depiction in a body of chrome was seen in Rihanna's music clip "Umbrella". See the half second frame at 2:46 in the clip.

The acting was often poor and often outright bad. The "scary" parts were too clean and clinical; The Cenobites resembled set pieces. The tiny bit of blood was unconvincing, the little bit of ripping of flesh looked outright cheap. This is a horror movie? The movie was way too tame for that.

Other effects were cheap too. The first fragments of the movie exist only to fulfill the woke-quota and is not needed for the story. The represented drug addiction was less than a shadow of what it really is. What was the point tangibly?

The characters were generic disposable cardboard items. Period.

I could give this flick a one star rating or two or three. What does it matter? An increasing number of people are waking up. I'm calling this rubbish out for over fifteen years in many movie reviews and I hope I contributed a little. But I feel my role as an insignificant person trying to wake up people is coming to an end. Hopefully it's for good reasons.

I didn't watch the original, but I'm sure it's all better than the last Hellraiser. Hellraiser can hardly be called a horror film, but it's not scary at all. There are not even screamers here. The meeting with the senobites should be clearly presented differently, and there is no information about them in the film. They are simply introduced into the plot as something mundane. Is it exactly a franchise relaunch or a fan movie? Mediocre cast, more than one recognizable actor, weak acting. And this has not yet reached the script. Which literally can fit on 1 piece of A4. Stupid dialogues, lack of motivation for the heroes and the uncertainty of their actions. Hellraiser is an empty, thoughtless project that is obviously created for the commercial purposes of exploiting the franchise. Do not spend your 1.5 hours of time on this. Expand
