I see Metacritic has been hijacked by racists, who love been racist. It appears any movie with a diverse cast, or a non-white theme, will be dumped on. How will you resolve this issue, Metacritic? absolutely loved the movie, Newton was amazing. The entire supporting cast was just as good. thoughtful, dense in a good way, and beautiful to watch. not to whine but there are so few "adult" movies out there anymore.. between marvel andabsolutely loved the movie, Newton was amazing. I thought it was a very powerful movie. Now that I've seen the film and read the critics' reviews, it seems my take is different from the critics': I don't see the story as primarily about a Black woman standing up to many oppressors,I thought it was a very powerful movie. Now that I've seen the film and read the critics' reviews, it seems my take is different from the critics': I don't see the story as primarily about a Black woman standing up to many oppressors, although that's certainly an element. Rather, it seems to me a story about miscommunication (ironic given that communication is what Sandra teaches) and missed opportunities (e.g., she and the older brother were close to finding common ground in the church scene). I came away thinking that all the main characters were monsters.… Expand

A well-made, slow-burn thriller. Worth your time, and, bonus!: Watching it will piss off the man-boy Rogan-ites who are afraid that people will watch this and like it.

The people coming on here to complain about the film’s message have a. Never been out to these areas or b. Outright lying about what happens there. While this story is certainly sensationalized, these areas are extremely hostile to outsiders.The people coming on here to complain about the film’s message have a.
