A truly sensational film! The utter definition of a must-watch.

'Everything Everywhere All at Once' is impressive from every single viewpoint. I had heard murmurs of it being a great film, yet it still managed to completely smash my expectations. This 2022 release features a superb cast, a fascinating story and some top notch visuals. The editing and pacing, in particular, are brilliant.

The onscreen talent are all fantastic, but Michelle Yeoh is still the absolute standout from this. What a performance! I could watch her in this role over and over and over. With that said, Ke Huy Quan (welcome back!) is awesome as well, as are Stephanie Hsu, James Hong and Jamie Lee Curtis. Everyone plays their part very, very well.

All of the humour lands, with some parts being truly funny. It also manages to show supremely enjoyable action alongside a highly meaningful side too. In short: EEAAO is outstanding - you must see it if you get the opportunity!

Zany, funny and increadibly creative movie that overstays its welcome and doesn't quite nail the themes/arc/plot.

The first 60 minutes of this movie are incredibly entertaining and some of the most creative cinema in a while. Unfortunately, much of the movie takes place inside an office building so the setting wears off after a while. And once the concept is fully explored, the emotional heart of the movie takes too long to come together, despite being fairly simple.

So despite being an incredibly unique film, I was quite exhausted by the end of it and wished we could have gotten to the finish line 20 minutes earlier.

'Everything Everywhere All at Once' is funny, exciting, bonkers, and very original. It reminded me a lot of 'The Worst Person in the World;' it doesn't matter if you're the worst being in the multiverse, there'll always be something you're good at. It's just a matter of finding it.

I had no trouble in one viewing of the film understanding its general concept of family and the conflict that often exists between Mothers and Daughters. Might require a 2nd viewing to figure out some things I may have missed in the movie's first 2 hours. Michelle Yeoh as the Matriarch is outstanding, she carries the full intensity of the film with Oscar-caliber accomplishment. Expand

Particularly impressedVery ambitious multiversal drama. I honestly was not expecting this movie to be built around a family delivered through a multiverse of astounding scenes and imagery but I was pleasantly surprised and intrigued by it. Particularly impressed by the brilliant Michelle Yeoh and the underhyped performance of Ke Huy Quan.

However, considering the high standards the movie sets for itself - despite the brilliance of its characters, how the story is told, and how the movie's plot unfolds, and - if Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is perceived as the fast-paced drama it is albeit set across a multiverse: The movie underdelivers. To be clear, yes, the movie borrows a lot from multiple genres but at its core it is mostly a drama.

In that light, it struggles to provide sufficient emotional fulfillment by the end of the movie and all the brilliance of the movie's methodology amounts to little. It also fails to deliver anything new or unique to match its multiversal ambitions, undermining its brilliance with a bagel. Point being: The movie shows that it can tell its story across a multiverse but ultimately does not prove that it has a reason to do so.

Also, while Stephanie Hsu was good for the most part, I think she perhaps lacked a functional range to portray the varieties of her character. Thus contributing to the emotional gap at the end of the movie.

Overall, it's a mostly superb movie, seriously original and put together with Oscar worthy editing. If there was one Oscar this movie would easily win, it would have to be for the editing work.

There are new, unique, and well-executed ideas in its story, cinematography and so much more. It's very entertaining, and even as someone who isn't as onboard with the movie's type of jokes, I still found it very fun. It's also very emotionally heartfelt and had some moments that were undeniably hard-hitting, even though I couldn't truly personally relate to most of the characters and their struggles.

The only negatives, which are rather insignificant in comparison to everything the movie does right, is that its pace, in the beginning, is pretty sluggish and it continues to explain how its world works even though it has already given all the information needed to get it. The most nagging issue for me, although, is how blatantly clear it is what the movie is a metaphor for. When it's so apparent what the movie is actually about, it puts the necessity of the framework by which the story is told into question.

Nevertheless, it's a fantastic movie, the performances are stellar, especially from Stephanie Hsu and Ke Huy Quan, and I'd highly recommend the movie to just about anyone.

I can't really fully explain what type of movie this is, only that it is very bold and experimental in nearly every aspect, and that the film is - for lack of a better word - amazing. There are flaws, mainly a few plot holes, but I can't really say for certain if any of these flaws were actual oversights or not; they could very well be intentionally vague plot points. The film is really just art in it's highest form and watching It was an incredible time. Go and see this movie, I hope you'll be just as much in awe of it as I was. Expand

This is not the movie I wanted, but it was the movie I needed. It's flawed, goofy and illogical at times, but it works, it's fresh, unique, and I was a bit skeptical at the beginning, but then I got hooked as the movie started to develop.
I felt connected to the main character (Evelyn) struggles because at it's core, the movie is not supposed to be a hero's story, but a personal, intimate and complex story about everyday life, it's about family, choices, sacrifice, resentment and how the same situation can be perceived as something awful someone might want to escape while others might dream about it.
The whole multiverse idea, the fighting, the verse jumps can be inconsistent and even ridiculous but as soon as you accept it, it becomes entertaining and everything starts to connect as you start seeing the metaphors and the character's progression.
The acting of Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan are both phenomenal and well deserving of the Oscars they won, they really immerse themselves in the characters and personify to perfection the essence of the movie.
The camera work is creative and I caught myself complementing it a few times while watching, some might say it breaks the immersion, but I find it interesting and entertaining.
Colors look good and they match the tone of each scene.
Overall, it's a great movie and I'm glad they won the Best Picture Oscar because it actually made me feel everything everywhere all at once.

But after rewatching it after some time, I am convinced that it is the best form of any storytelling I have ever come across. Granted, I haven't watched, read or played every movie/show/play, book or game ever created in the many languages that exist. But of the significant portion of my life I have spent experiencing stories and my subjective & biased parameters for what an exceptional form of storytelling should ideally be based on, I am certain that this movie is the best I've come across yet.

Why do I think that?

Because it combines the most investigated philosophical question of the purpose of life, the most complex metaphysical theory of multiverses and the most consistently prevalent emotions of hope & despair, all together, in 150 minutes that span almost every storytelling genre there is.

And it does this with a series of truly extraordinary & powerful acting performances, elegantly simple yet extremely compelling dialogues, absurdist yet coherent editing & transitions and one of the most narratively complementary cinematography ever.

Furthermore, the exceptionally intelligent use of various styles of humour, balanced with a metaphorical yet deeply compassionate use of relationships, to construct a narrative that - though may appear comically-absurd & entertaining on a casual first-watch - is actually so much more; being consistently deliberate, methodical & profound on a second viewing.

All this coalesces into a unique emotional journey - with an abundance of excellent humour - that inevitably transitions to a rollercoaster ride of hope crescendos & despair diminuendos, while offering convincing justifications for these ebbs and flows, concluding in an extremely cathartic & appropriate ending.

Everything Everywhere All at Once - as the title suggests - is truly a story about everything, everywhere, told all at once. It's the most conclusive story of existence. And as cliched and inaccurate its ultimate moral may seem, it ingeniously conveys it in the single most hopeful & captivating manner possible.

And that's why it is the best form of any storytelling I have ever come across.

The 2020s have produced some phenomenal films but this wipes the table with them. Genuinely one of the most creative and heartwarming films to come out in a while. This film takes the multiverse concept that’s been trending for the past year or two and takes it a whole new original direction. The incorporation of it works and I loved it. The Daniels did a fantastic job directing this. There is a funny and unique style present throughout the whole film that keeps your eyes glued to the screen. Michelle Yeoh, Key Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu are fantastic here and all 3 of their performances are somewhere on my 3 favorite performances of this year. Their characters are incredibly unique and interesting to follow and it’s a great return to screen for Quan who hasn’t been in a major film since The Goonies. They did a fantastic job playing all these different versions of themselves and making them feel familiar yet different at the same time. The emotional beats work so well. The film made me tear up on multiple occasions in the last 30 minutes because these characters are just so wonderful to follow. Any scene at the end manages to make you happy for these characters and the struggle that they have been through. The action and cinematography go hand in hand with amazing they are. There isn’t an action set piece that feels repeated and every scene is so amazing in their own separate way whether it’s really cool and badass or just really funny as well. This film manages to use so many different cool and fun colors that immediately keep your eyes glued to the screen no matter what is going on. The film’s use of themes like existentialism and where we belong in this world work perfectly for this story and even we are no one, we are someone out there to somebody else. This is an absolutely necessary watch for anyone who enjoys movies. It’s a masterpiece in every aspect of filmmaking and it 100% deserves the price of admission. Go see this right now. Expand

Seems like everybody makes a Multiverse movies nowadays. I'm a fan of Michelle Yeoh since Police Story 3... she lately for the past couple of years kinda have a renaissance in her acting career... she is everywhere... movies and TV.

Of all the movies she's in...I think she never play a role that carry a movie... she always part of ensembles. This is the best movie she's ever in that shows how great of an actor she is. She not just have a wide acting range... she have ALL the range.

This is the movie that her agent need to put in the top of her resume as reference when sending to movie studio for casting.

The movie itself kinda amazing... a beautiful chaotic mess, action packed, funny and emotional... I love how Multiverse were explained in the movie and the approach to Multiverse itself is very unique and new. The jump pad where they tap into Multiverse skills are hilarious. The only one negative for me is the 3rd act... somehow the film maker couldn't find a way to neatly wrapped up the conclusion. Since it is a beautiful mess that are chaotic... the 3rd act keep going on and on and it become exhaustive. The runtime is around 2 hours... it could be tighten into 1 hour 45 minutes. HIGHLY... highly recommended... 8/10... the actor who played the husband is the kid in Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom and The Goonies... he done a lot of acting work since then but I always remember him from that 2 movies.

Transitions well between the bizarre, juvenile humor, heartfelt family drama, and martial arts action sequences. I felt the full whirlwind of emotions from tears to laughter to awestruck at the creative action sequences.

I could see some criticizing the immature humor, but after seeing Swiss Army Man, I had a good feel for the directors humor going into the film. If you have an aversion to old school Asian martial arts or female leads in action movies, you may have not like the action sequences.

There are some portions that require reading subtitles. You’ll also need to open minded to some absolutely, totally bizarre, way out of left field scenes. Overall none of these deterred any of my enjoyment. Most fun I’ve had in a theater in 2022 by a large margin. The wife enjoyed it too. Not particularly violent, but there was some fairly crude humor and strong language at times if you’re planning on attending this with family. Strongly recommend

Things soonEvelyn (Michelle Yeoh) is an aging Chinese immigrant living in America with her own laundromat business. Struggling with everyday problems like family, taxes and an upcoming audit, Evelyn doesn’t seem to be living her best life. Things soon take a rapid change when she becomes swept up in an absolutely insane adventure in which she alone can save the world by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.

In the infinite multiverse there are quite literally endless possibilities. There are no rules and no boundaries. It gives the filmmakers complete freedom to do whatever they like, while also avoiding the pitfalls of overloading the audience and still keeping an actual story going through all the mayhem. Everything Everywhere All at Once has blown everything out of the water and pushes the boundaries of filmmaking to an entirely new level. Directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert who gave us another crazy film, Swiss Army Man have created something really special with Everything Everywhere All at Once. So even though my head is melted and I felt I needed time to process the insanity of Everything Everywhere All at Once, this is a film I urge all of you to see.

At its heart it’s a story about the stresses of life, the feelings of regret and the constant ‘what if’ that I believe we can all relate to. There is also a mother daughter theme amongst the chaos. It’s really unlike anything you’ve ever seen before and I know we’ve had a few very recent trend of movies exploring the multiverse (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Spider-Man: No Way Home) but this is something else entirely on another level. There are so many crazy alternative universes jam-packed into it making you as an audience question every potential life you could have lived and also showing you some mental universes you’d never think possible. I’m not going to say too much as all my reviews are spoiler free but Everything Everywhere All at Once is this decade’s The Matrix. The story takes you on a very chaotic journey which is also far more emotional than I expected. Michelle Yeoh and her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) are absolutely wonderful. You’ve also got Ke Huy Quan (Short Round), James Hong and Jamie Lee Curtis in there. The entire cast are brilliant and I can only image the fun they all had creating this spectacular movie that had most of the cinema in stitches laughing.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is feckin’ bonkers, highly original and an experience not to be missed. Highly recommended, although I can tell you this will not be for everyone, and the only way to know for sure is to give it a chance but you cannot beat the feeling of seeing this madness in a packed cinema.

But I gave it a try anyhow to see if it lives up to the hype. Not going to lie, it started off kind of messy, and I had a hard time following the story switching between the english and chinese language. The scenes in the first half of the movie appeared incoherent and it was hard to understand what was going on. But then I discovered that this incoherence was consistent, like some mathematical constant and came to realization that maybe I should not approach this movie with logic and I should not try so hard to understand it, but rather let the movie take you in for the ride and get into it for the sensation of it all and see where it goes. And oh my, how it delivered. I wasn't expecting such an epic emotional rollercoaster experience, even with all the crazy over the top things happening on screen, it blended very well together. It literally included everything, everywhere, all at once that you ever wanted in a movie. This was a masterpiece of a movie. Instant timeless classic, and topics touched upon that are very relevant for our times. This also shows you that representation matters! It gives us a whole range of new and interesting perspective and content we never knew we wanted! My compliments for the script writers and producers for giving us this gem of a movie and it certainly lived up to the hype and more! Expand

An absolutely beautiful philosophical narrative wrapped up in a package that is far more accessible and appealing than the average A24 movie.

This movie is well-acted, features particularly stunning visual effects, and possesses dialogue and writing that presents hopefulness and emotion without succumbing to anything that feels cheesy or forced. It possesses enough subtlety for people to interpret the movie's themes in whatever way they wish.

While this movie has received a great deal of positive attention after its release, it pleases me greatly to say that the praise feels earned. It is a beautiful, endearing and powerful narrative about love, philanthropy, and making our own meaning in a world that often feels senselessly and relentlessly cruel.

What a beautiful, poignant, funny, emotional movie this is. Everything from the story, the philosophical themes, the writing, the acting, and the editing makes this movie a masterpiece of cinema. Everything from the story, the philosophical themes, the writing, the acting, and the editing makes this movie a masterpiece of cinema. Michelle Yeoh put on a tour-de-force performance for the ages, and she deserved every award that she won. The same can be said of Ke Huy Quan and the entire cast. I've seen iconic movies from Citizen Kane, Vertigo, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, Schindler's List, The Shawshank Redemption, Back to the Future, and the list goes on. Looking back at this movie in ten years, I feel it will be given its place among those greats and be regarded as such. It's a cinematic marvel and one of the greatest movies ever made. Expand

Alright folks, this is a 10. The visuals are a 10. The acting is a 10. The soundtrack is DEFINITELY a 10ner... It's just a fckn 10, okay? Is it perfect? No, but it doesn't have to be in order to be a 10. Cause what even is a 10? In anotherAlright folks, this is a 10. The visuals are a 10. The acting is a 10. The soundtrack is DEFINITELY a 10ner... It's just a fckn 10, okay? Is it perfect? No, but it doesn't have to be in order to be a 10. Cause what even is a 10? In another universe a 10 could be a 5... it could be a 2... it could be a nothing burger grilled over a BBQ made out of butt plugs and **** Would that be immature? Probably... but probably not... but mostly likely both at the same time? Probably. And No! This is not a "postmodern" film that proclaims "nothing matters", as some fools on here are convinced. First of all, "postmodernism" is not the same thing as "nihilism". Second of all, this is *not* a film about how "nothing matters", this is a film about how *everything* matters. Every choice, every relationship, every cream cheese bagel!!! Do some of the actors in this movie need to lose some weight? Yes. Are there lesbians included in this package? Yes. Do I give a **** No. Is watching this movie the first time I've had a psychedelic experience and contemplated our metaphysical reality and how consciousness relates to it? No. Is this a better multiverse movie than that mainstream curated Doctor Strange Multiverse **** that released the same year and probably grossed more money at the box office cuz normies gonna normie? Obviously. However... the big question is... is this film essentially just an overly flashy movie about death and taxes? Definitely.... but it's still a 10. Expand

In the first days of the release of this movie, I praised and praised it on many critic and and analysis sites. I wrote that this movie is a giant masterpiece in the new millennium. I wrote that this film is like the paintings of Edvard MunchIn the first days of the release of this movie, I praised and praised it on many critic and and analysis sites. I wrote that this movie is a giant masterpiece in the new millennium. I wrote that this film is like the paintings of Edvard Munch and "Nicolas Poussin ", which have been made into the movie. And I said that mankind has not been able to create such a thing for centuries. And I also praised the perfect script. But after seeing a lot of negative comments, I became doubtful and some questions arose in my mind. Maybe I thought about the vagueness of Tan's story and changed my mind. When the movie won seven Oscars. I watched it for third time and asked myself, what is the definition of a smart story? If we want to logically create and define an intelligent story (I emphasize, logically), what should we do? And can social effects affect my poor understanding of modern art? In both cases, the answer was yes.it must be done in this way.
We have to adapt to life, boys. The last night Oscar action is not only very bravely but is so differentt action. and is a very game changer act
for the continues.....
