Got too weird for me. And that's saying a lot because I can deal with some weird stuff. Mix between Matrix, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Inception, and Terrence and Phillp from Southpark.

Not really surprisingly, and it's too long, ok performances by all the cast and with all the flaws and it did might sound harsh but it wasn't truly a bad movie overall but it just not the one that at very least ok too for me so i was still pretty much disappointed, despite the cool special effects and the Multiverse thing, the real story of the film was really my major problem because it didn't fit with the other side of the story, and if you erase all the Multiverse stuff, it might be even work more, it just doesn't connect, it's a mixed bag of a feeling, it felt very forced, again i like the super weird Multiverse thing that they did, the special effects, the style, the color, the lighting, the cinematography, the score, and performance was still ok, but as a whole combined with the real story, it didn't work for me, and it's surprisingly becoming my new unpopular opinion on possibly the most talked film of 2022 and the one that got a lot of praise, not for me. complete waste of time and money. arguably the most overrated film of the decade which birthed a cult following who would gladly end up on the news if you were to give it anything less than a 10.

Overrated, bloated mess with no clear or coherent plotline. Average acting and over the top wacky plot devices to cover up a lack of depth. I do not understand the Oscar nominations. Film twitter overhyping a token favorite

It starts off with a great premise, but for a solid 45 minutes towards the ending the plot litterally goes *nowhere* ...

Hard to review w/out giving up the storyline... which is unique. I found the movie too long of a slog to get through but the ending was uplifting and redeemed many, many, many too slow parts, too many visuals went on too long, etc.

Even if as producers, the Russo brothers continue their tireless work of cinematographic and scientific devastation. How many things do they mention? Michel Gondry, Jackie Chan and Hong Kong action movies, John Carpenter ["Big Trouble in Little China"] and the Wachowskis ["The Matrix"], the politically correct. And so far nothing serious. But then they come to "2001" and "Mr. Nobody" with its quantum man, and this gives the measure of how certain elevated themes are swept away by a demented approach, sometimes even scatological and with a philosophy that is a hymn to banality. Then: stop confusing multiverse, metaverse and pluriverse. They might turn to a fùcking scientific advisor. Or do they address to such an ignorant target audience because it's okay/better this way? "Cult movie of our time but, as often happens in films of this kind, the boundary between the hypertrophied and the exhausting can become very blurred" (Daria Pomponio).

I get why some people ar truly lauding this film, but I found it pretty heavy-handed and repetitive in its messaging and narrative. Solid performance and editing, though.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really enjoyed the first part of this film, which played out like an original sci-fi martial arts movie with some zany comedy reminiscent of King Fu Hustle and even a bit of a horror feel. But then it becomes very preachy and pretentious and the moral message the director is trying to get across takes precedence to believability or plot coherence. There are many epistemic assumptions and the philosophy of the writers is sloppy and clichéd in regards to multiverses and quantum mechanics. The idea of 'nothing means anything' is still applying meaning. In the end the overall message is so basic it's almost patronising. Kudos to all the actors though, they really did a great job. I now want to see a really good Sci fi martial arts movie, other than Black Mask. Expand

Its scope outreaches it's grasp however with some ultimately distracting concepts being thrown about the place. At its core though it follows the concept of living your life through the filter of nihilism Vs love. The cast are fantastic with some very cool moments spread throughout. Sadly as mentioned the scope was just a bit too big for what we see on the screen and so things fall a bit flat. Reminded me of vanilla sky for some reason. Great movie if you like something on the border of what the medium is capable of. Expand

Quite repetitive, I zoned out a lot during the middle part and to be honest you don't really need to pay attention a d can get the gist probably from watching the last 20 minutes. I felt that the absurdist humour was good at points but also used to cover a pretty thin plot (maybe that's the point). If you take that out, it's more like an episode if black mirror. Good but not worth the hype or a trip to the cinema. Expand

Chances are most of us aren't even aware of any of our other selves, but those well versed in metaphysical circles have a good sense about them, and making audiences aware of this phenomenon is what this manic comedy-drama is all about. When the beleaguered owner of a laundromat is beset by issues with her husband, father, daughter and the IRS, it seems, like the title implies, that everything hits, all at once. But that's nothing compared to what happens when she's unexpectedly contacted by a different version of her spouse who informs her that he's been looking for her for a long time to help resolve an issue with a growing evil in the multiverse, a concept with which she's supposedly best suited but completely unfamiliar. However, as her awareness grows, this new adventure begins opening doors for her in unexpected ways, not only in the universe in which she dwells, but also those in which other versions of herself reside. The result is an insightful and hilarious exploration of some heady philosophical and moral concepts, punctuated by stunningly clever visual effects, huge laughs, clever send-ups of a variety of other films, and dynamite performances by Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis. Nevertheless, despite these assets, the film goes on far too long, telling a story that could have easily been trimmed by about a half-hour, primarily by eliminating some bits that overstay their welcome (such as take-offs of martial arts movies that start out funny but grow tiresome after a few too many runs). This offering from directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert is certainly an ambitious and inventive release, but it's unfortunate that the filmmakers didn't know when to quit. It's indeed worth a look, but it's regrettable that those responsible for the picture didn't quite know when to stop. Expand

Great acting by the cast. The movie starts strong, but drags on. Then it proceeds to go into the absurd. The movie moved into humor that doesn't work for me. This movie needed to be tightened up. Just not for me.

Disheveled, boring, pretentious and pandering film. Clearly built for the Oscars and eager to deliver the social message that Hollywood's radical chic care so much.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a watchable movie, but you have to watch it using a pomodoro, to rest, believe me you will need it. Watching all at once is a mistake because it feels like a 90's MTV music video there's so much happening too fast! It gives me a headache and I'm not even an epileptic. It continues a trend of current movies to have scenes that are too fast. The only part I really liked was from 1:46:00 until about 1:48:00 when the woman's husband speaks. watch and you will understand. Hes a nice guy Expand

First 30 minutes are excellent, downhill from there. An MCU plotline by James Joyce on acid (giant bagel controls the universe), fantasy not SciFi. Acting is outstanding ... rest is okay. Ending is repetitive, never-ending.
