Wow this was bad. Maybe this movie is for a different demographic like one where people who also like Saturday night live and the cw are haha.

I am surprised that it has so high ratings from some or other sites. I found it quite dumb and boring overall - before I watched it I thought it will have some more funny satire or jokes about current climate, but felt just dumb. This movie seems written for an age group that is possibly not going to step foot in a theater to give it a chance. If tiktok was a human who could write a script, this is what I guess I’d create. Although clever at times, it never seems to grip you into feeling any sort understanding of what it is really about. It’s reminiscent of Clue, but in a non “this will be a cult favorite in time” way. If it has something to say I’d be nice if it just said it instead of making us laugh at clever sentences that take us nowhere. Expand

What a absolute cringe fest from start to end... The characters are unrelatable and down right annoying, story is predictable and anyone who saw a trailer could figure it out in the first minute, and the entire premise just does not work. What a absolute cringe fest from start to end... You know it’s bad when Pete Davidson is the best character. A24 should be ashamed.

Is this loud, obnoxious mess of a film better than Scream 5? HELL NO!!! The stark disparity between the critics' and users' consensus once again shows just how out of touch and irrelevant movies critics have become.

The cinematic equivalent of being stuck at a party with nothing but awful, boring people who never shut the f**k up. And all the good chips are gone. And there's no booze left. And your ride bailed. The worst movie I've seen all year.

However, when an actual murder transpires among the group, suspicions are raised and friendships are put to the test as they fight to find who among them could've possibly been the culprit. The premise and cast had me intrigued from the start, with names like Maria Bakalova (of Borat 2 fame) and of course SNL's Pete Davidson to name a couple. It looked as though things would be entertaining and enjoyable enough here, however I was unfortunately so wrong. I dreaded and despised nearly every single moment of this vapid and shallow film that consisted of nothing but vapid and shallow people. With the exception of maybe Bakalova, none of the performances here are worth singling out. Literally everyone in this film was terrible, annoying, and completely unfunny. And most people either love or hate Davidson. I personally really enjoy him and found him funny during most of his tenure on SNL, but here, his character is completely wasted (literally and metaphorically) and not even he could save things. Storywise, it's all thoroughly devoid of any genuine suspense or tension, has twists and turns you can see coming from a mile away, and tries painfully hard to come across as hip, modern, funny, and clever... And it fails miserably at all of these things. Overall, it's one of the most pointless and disposable films I've seen in recent memory. There's absolutely nothing redeeming about this one whatsoever. A24's worst film since 'The Witch' Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Very disappointing film. I love A24 and this genre— but the characters were all too drugged out to make any actual choices. Also, most of the characters were unlikeable, which destroys a film like this. Expand

My dad said we live in a different world than critics and I couldn’t agree more in regards to this film. I felt my soul drying up inside with every passing minute watching this garbage. I read it was a horror comedy which I normally enjoy (Shaun of the Dead, What We Do In Shadows, Extra Ordinary, even Midsommar) but I didn’t chuckle or find anything remotely funny in the first hour of this film. I guess “ironic” self-referential wokeness is considered comedy now. Would be better off at a student film festival, and even then I’d still say it SUCKS. Expand
