And it fits well into the cinematic universe. I enjoyed watching Namor's action scenes, but I'm not sure if everyone really needed to be Iron Man In the movie, they could have handled the Iron Heart character as a more original character instead of treating it as a Spiderman-like character. I expected the armor of the Iron Heart character to be better but it was still a joy to watch the movie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wakanda Forever

Well, here we are again. In the M-She-U.
But first, the basics:
Is Black Panther 2 bad? Yes and no.

So here goes.
As we walked out of the theater, we daxed, "If it weren't for all the whining, this movie would only be an hour and a half long."
I didn't think it was quite that bad, but there is a grain of truth in it, because Wakanda Forever is already very... watery, even without Namor.
But let's get to the elephant in the room: yes, the Black Panther is now a woman. I wouldn't have much of a problem with that alone, if it weren't for the fact that every beloved character would soon be feminized.
But to make matters worse, this girl isn't really suited to be a superhero. In that suit, she looks like a 12-year-old brat. You just don't buy this role. I feel sorry for her.
And then there's Iron Heart, the poor man's Iron Man. In the comic, at least, there are heaps of references to Tony Stark, like his "soul" as the AI of the suit with Tomy Stark's voice. Of course, there was no room for such subtleties in this film. After all, they had to take care to make everything as feminine as possible.
And then there was Namor... who was robbed of his Atlantean heritage (for lack of other, better ideas) to make him a fluttering Mayan, who then ekes out an existence as a pseudo-villain.
When I was out of the cinema, I still thought the film wasn't that bad. But the more distance I gain from it, the more I realize that this is not a good movie. It all seems so terribly contrived, so half-hearted, so ham-fisted, so forced.
All in all, this is another wasted attempt to take away something the boys love. And therefore: bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really feel that there was the potential for a really good movie here but it's never realized because, well Disney is Disney.
Firstly I will say that overall the emotional scenes in this movie are very good and feel impactful. Letitia Wright is a good actress and with the rest of the talented cast they do a good job of continuing the story of Wakanda while being respectful to the passing of Chadwick Boseman.
However there are definite problems with the script which severely impacted my enjoyment of the movie.
The whole Riri/Ironheart plot is very obviously a last minute addition. It feels forced and unnecessary and could very easily have been cut with only small changes to the overall story.
Secondly even though this is close to a three hour movie Namor and the nation of Talokan doesn't get fleshed out enough and the whole plot as to why they would attack Wakanda is paper thin.
They also feel very underwhelming and even though the movie really tries to present them as a credible threat it frankly feels strange that they should be this dangerous to a nation with the technology and military capability of Wakanda even with their super strength and water bombs.
Also while I'm not opposed to Shuri becoming the Black Panther I really feel more time should have been spent on her transition into the role instead of cramming it into the last third. Shuri was always a scientist and the most we ever saw her fight before was using the sonic(?) arm cannons in a handful of scenes in the previous movies. I really would have liked to see her grow more into the role before just jumping in to the final fight with Namor.
Overall this was ok. It was fine for an evenings entertainment and definitely not the worst Marvel has produced but compared to what they were making a few years ago this isn't close to their best and the sad thing is that it really feels like it could have been if they had tightened up the script and made the antagonist more believable.

It's well acted for the most part, has some decent visuals, everyone involved is clearly trying but... yeah, it's mediocre. It drags along at a snails pace - it feels like a thousand mile journey and the car is starting to chug and break down during the last bit and you just can't wait to see the finish line. This should have been cut back by a good 45 minutes.

And again, it's almost all due to the script. A nonsensical villain and a plot with more holes than a swiss cheese, where characters do things 'just because' rather than because they're following any logic in the parameters of the universe they're in.

For me, Wakanda Forever is a shame. A swing and a miss, but at least they legitimately did try to hit.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I won’t simply dismiss this movie because of “woke” **** Actual history isn’t woke people. Where this movie falls short is much more disappointing.

To start, the stakes are incredibly low. It’s hard to become invested in a story and the idea of Namor as a villain when there are no consequences whatsoever. Everyone knew Wakanda wasn’t going to fall, or that no notable characters were going to die, or suffer any tragedy that could be used as character development. This saps the life out of the movie, and makes it seem pointless.

My second gripe is Namor himself. The writing really fails to cement him as a true villain. Somewhere in the underwater scene his motivations suddenly shift from “I just want to protect my people”, to “I want to watch the world burn”, with no real catalyst. This relegates IronHeart’s purpose in the movie to another half-baked character in a suit of armor with no real purpose. This also makes Namor’s subtle amicability seem laughable. You want to watch the whole world burn, but you’ll half heartedly kill the queen, and be so cordial as to give the resourceful Wakandans a week to reconsider, and then throw your motivations in the trash simply by getting bested in combat? Seems like his heart was never in it to begin with. The third area this movie falls short in is the combat. The choreography here is desperately lacking, and the constant camera cuts are dizzying, and seemingly wants viewers to fill in the gaps on what’s happening between cuts. The side boss given to Okoye is insipid and unimposing as well. Marvel seems to be heavily regressing in the action department instead of upping the ante . It doesn’t even surpass the original Black Panther, nor does it even crack the top 10 in terms of action. Other gripes:

- cliche “revenge isn’t the answer,” storyline straight from The Last of Us Part 2.

-Power scaling is all over the place and further diminishes The Hulk. Ok, Namor is as strong as The Hulk, but buddy from the mountains took a punch from him and was better within a day.

-Shuri’s urge for vengeance leads to an incompetent plan that only an Imbecile and not the sharp kind of a genius would concoct

-How did Shuri have a Black Panther suit perfectly tailor-made for herself when she was dubious of the ancestral plane even existing and was reluctant to takeover the mantle from the start

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The beginning and end segments of this movie are absolutely fantastic. It handles the real life death of it's lead actor with more grace and class than any other sequel I can think of.

Unfortunately, the issue is in what's between the beginning and the end. I can hear the Disney corporate committee planning on this movie, "Hmm. They liked Thanos and Killmonger, let's merge the two for the villain this time. Oh, and since they like Wakanda, let's make the villain be from a secret super advanced society very similar to Wakanda. It will be like a Killermonger/Thanos lead Wakanda versus the actual Wakanda. Kind of like the climax of the last film, which the audience liked." Despite this overly safe set-up, Namor is still pretty solid as the antagonist and while he's no Magento (sorry, Namor is not right) it's functional.

What doesn't work is Ironheart. Riri Williams does not belong in this movie. It's a disservice to Wakanda Forever and it's a disservice to Ironheart. Riri should have had her own standalone origin movie and she feels completely shoehorned into this movie. Riri distracts needlessly from the Wakanda narrative and, clearly, is only introduced here because Disney doesn't have the integrity to launch Riri in her own standalone film.

On the note of compromising Wakanda in order to put narrative focus on Riri. The worst decision this film makes is have Queen Ramonda - a powerful mature woman of color - sacrifice herself in order to save Riri. This is a repeat of Marvel's mishandling of it's female authority figure in Thor: Dark World but it hits even harder here because it's a colossal waste of a talented, engaged actress. Apparently Angela Bassett challenged the decision but was told, "don't worry. It's comics, dead people come back all the time." Which is garbage storytelling and completely undermines the narrative stakes. What a terrible misstep. At least have the Queen lay down her life to save her own people or her own family, to just sacrifice the strongest female authority figure in the story for some stranger - just like Queen Frigga in Thor: Dark World - is an absolute waste.

So, ultimately, the beginning and end are very good. Marvel plays it too safe in the middle acts, distracts from Wakanda by shoehorning in the next franchise, and needlessly kills off one of Black Panther's best characters. The visuals and sound are top notch, just what you'd expect, but most of the heart from this one comes from the off screen death of T'chala.

Without getting into major spoilers, the MacGuffin they use to explain T'challa's death is so out of left field and you're thinking how could Wakanda not have the "cure" for that. They can solve literally world hunger. His funeral they set up wasn't as impactful as it should have been and it didn't show what the citizens were emoting or going through really in detail. It was brushed off and easily forgotten. Should they have just recast Black Panther? The villain in this had awful motives that were insane and made me want to see Killmonger again in the first one. I didn't like what happened to a certain character towards the second act that had me pissed instead of being sad, she was the best part of this. Almost fell asleep at parts too as it drags and unnecessary side questing that is inconsequential to the plot gets boring fast. Follows the same MCU formula to play it safe, at this point, it is such a meme. I'd much rather prefer a tribute short on a streaming service like what we saw at the end credits on the beach instead of a full feature-length film with this script. You know my issue with this is I appreciate that they are trying to portray us (black people) in a positive manner. But it really says a lot when you have to basically turn black people into aliens to portry us in a positive manner.

For example, and the whole premise of the girl at that college. Did we really need a black female Tony Stark? Just let the character be dead and remain unique. Don't insult the audience by replacing an iconic hero with a bad actor who is portraying a terribly written character.

I mean could we have not just gotten someone who earned their place based on merit? Why not an adult African American female, who has military experience, who has combat experience, and has a doctorate level education. And has simply just never gotten her chance to shine?

But of course we go with annoying teenage girl who just happens to be a genius for no reason. And also just happens to have access to unlimited resources for no reason. Oh this is just my warehouse full of tech.

Gosh that was so cringe.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Another attempt at a marvel film. Where to start, the film had some great special effects, fantastic large scale fight scenes, the story did flow if a little confusing. However there were Huge problems with the story line and main characters. For starters I found it straight up insulation to Chad to no include a better back story to why he died and why there was no next king. Secondly Shuri taking the mantle as black panther was at this point was predictable of marvel in there all female direction again unnecessary. Now Iron heart/ Riri.....OMG what was that! She's unlikeable, privileged but yet acts like she's raised on the streets and some how has made enough money to make an iron man suit (cost Tony billions). She takes away from the film more than she added I pray they don't attempt to develop her into the mcu as that will be the final nail in the coffin for me. The film had no real impact in the mcu kinda another black widow, a film because we need to make a film not because it advances the overall story and mcu. Disappointed but better that the current stuff on disney plus they've released. Expand

VFX and CGI: 6/10

Yeah, 6/10 overall, this is not a good film, nor is it bad, if some plot points and risks were fixed and used effectively this would have been good but none of that is here.
I personally do not want to see a Black Panther Film unless it has actual tension, and purpose behind it. And No the Death of Chadwick Boseman does not serve a purpose - May he Rest in Peace.

Disney and Marvel need to step it up, this story could have been insanely better, the purpose was to do better than the first movie and everyone behind the making of this film (narrative speaking) has failed, sadly.

Sequels are incredibly hard to do, but by today's standards, it should have been a walk in the park.

*Adjusted score from 6/10 to 5/10 after watching Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

This movie was made to exploit African culture, while also making it seem it's about black empowerment or black culture when it is not about any of that.

First they couldn't have explained T'Challa death in a worst way. Do the writers think people suffer from memory loss?! So they were able to freeze the Winter Soldier, but given T'Challa situation no one even thought about that. If you're smart and you think about everything all the movies have shown you, then you'll never accept the explanation given to T'Challa death. Which only shows how much the writers really care about Chadwick Boseman, that they couldn't have given him a death worthy of the man he was in life but also who the character Black Panther is.

The story of the movie itself is as simple as it can get. Riri Williams, builds something that does something and Namor or should I call him Ne-mour sees that thing as a threat to his kingdom and power. Ne-mour thinks his and Wakanda interests align until he sees that they do not.

And that's it, all the conflict and fights begin here.

Shuri or should I say Letitia Wright, not only fails to transmit the emotions typical with grieving and loss, but how she becomes the new Black Panther was pure plot convenience. Also considering how she achieves it, you're also left wondering how did T'Challa even died at all. Even her fight with wannabe Namor, it leaves you wonder if she added some Wolverine DNA to what she did. As Black Panther she doesn't convinces, and she didn't took her role as seriously as she should have.

The character Riri Williams that pretty much sets the fuse to the entire conflict, if she had only done that and offered Shuri some help becoming Black Panther, that would've been enough. More than enough. But no. They had to go Rey Palpatine on her, and the way she becomes Ironheart is an insult to Tony Stark Iron Man. The way she builds the suit the way she just uses it... It screams Mary Sue.

As for Wakanda itself. They went so over the top to create the illusion that the movie cares about African culture, that they overused it to the point it became ridiculous. There are many choices to pick from, but pay attention to how the holographic barrier that keeps Wakanda hidden is lowered. You'll see the culture abuse right there, because you're witnessing a technological process that doesn't need to have all that spectacle. The spectacle is in the movie to deceive the viewer too hypnotized to realize the absurdity being shown.

Also the way they handle Riri Williams at first, for a society that is supposed to be so advanced, so open minded, about equality, and so much better than all other cultures. They sure handle that with the finesse of a barbarian.

This movie will fool you if you're not paying attention. It will pretend to be about equality when they show they couldn't care less about that. It will pretend that the fight is about some grand motive, when it comes down to who has access to a specific resource. That resource can almost be considered the movie main character. It will pretend that this movie is about black culture, black empowerment, but it just ends up showing that regardless of skin color cultures share the same flaws and fight the same fights.

A few performances were solid, like that of Angela Bassett. But other performances were just laughable, like that of Tenoch Huerta that can't even say Namor as Namor is actually said.

Overall this is an average movie. With a completely predictable story and with so many plot holes that you can see how much care and hard work was actually put into creating this movie. They knew that by using Chadwick Boseman passing, and by filling the screen with what passes for African culture, they didn't need to actually write a good story.

And while some may allowed themselves to fall for this illusionist trick, I for one was never tricked one single time. Average movie at best and I'm being generous, considering some flaws even in the special effects department can easily justify and even lower score.

It was...diverse. From great actors and acting to extremely poor ones. Great CGI to really bad one, where you can practically see green screen. While battles were mostly done well, story itself was below average, with a lot of really stupid "twists", that happen because story says so, not because they make sense. Etc.
Not the worst MCU movies ive seen, but hardly best either. Falls into same category as Love and Thunder and Multiverse of Madness, with mishmash of everything without any coherent point or reason or direction.
Its watchable, that is best i can give it. If you have nothing better to watch and have evening to fill, its a decent pick.

ONE MCU movie which is better than Thor 2 or Eternals.

but these costumes ... dude ... they are so ugly.

Partly really good story. partly crap.
the water scenes... aquaman was better. DC was there before with quality quite clear.
Danai Gurira played really well. absoulter hammer. Also Lupita. Angela Basset I found in the ratio even quite weak.
but really the worst thing are these costumes. no idea how that can/could win awards.
absolutely ugly. then these non-explanations. honestly i thought dominique thorne played riri really well.
but why can she now just be the next iron man??? if they had at least known each other. or at least said she was a big fan, was saved by him... something... but so. yes am n super brain and copy that just ... sorry mega bad story.
and then ironheart also looks like crap. since when does the black panther suit also have "Stark technology"?
Namor I found well played, well brought into the story. finale is so naja. but wait. could be good.
all in all very mixed. with ugliest costumes.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Admittedly a fun watch, great action sequences, rich bright colors, locations and characters, but it drags in a few spots where the movie stops to preach, and no Black Panther in a Black Panther movie means this was misnamed. Also, a slap in the face of the people you entertain means you lose them: while the celebration of African and Mexican culture, art and tradition provides a wonderful backdrop for the movie and a great learning experience for young and old, the fake woke narrative about all bloodthirsty colonizers murdering, raping, pillaging completely civilized and peaceful people, villages and civilizations is burning itself out of fuel. This cherry-picking of history is tiresome, but I suppose it should be tolerated in a fairy tale. Also... the puny ankle wings... lol. Expand

Will give some credit for the T'challa (Chadwick)'s dead handling.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was a below average Marvel movie at best. They should have either recast T'Challa or made a Boseman tribute movie on Disney+ and got all the crying and reminiscing out of the way before proceeding with Wakanda Forever because this movie had pacing problems. Some of the action scenes were good, but the movie in whole was mostly just slow and boring. My favorite character was General Okoye. Ironheart was disappointing and Riri was simply forgettable and the suits were terrible, let's be honest. I don't know how Marvel managed to do it, but Namor was both interesting and disappointing at the same time. The first Black Panther, although overhyped and overrated as it was imo, I thought it was an above average Marvel movie personally, was simply a better movie than WF. Wait for it to release on Diseny+, you're not missing anything special imo. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The whole time that I watched Wakanda Forever, I kept thinking “ambitious” is the word we use to describe movies we like that don’t have the discipline to tell its story. Black Panther has all the good will in the world–a talented director, a loyal fan base without a vicelike grip of orthodoxy on the direction the franchise needs to move, a powerhouse of an ensemble cast, a soundtrack that continues to set it apart from the rest of the MCU–and yet Wakanda Forever lacks the sharp criticism of the first film, suffers from sequel bloat–perpetually honoring its fallen hero, Chadwick Boseman, even as it teases Ironheart for no obvious reasons, stuck in a revolving door of grief for big names exiting and new faces entering the franchise simultaneously. Spoilers ahead.

The plot appears to be based on a popular children’s allegory for the Trump era known as the Fate of Fausto. Shuri, grieving from the loss of her family, leads the entirety of her country’s army into the ocean in order to fight merpeople before noticing that she’s chosen some… disadvantageous territory to fight on. More than one person I’ve talked to has pointed out that there are some silly, reductive racial aspects to the to the match up between two powerful minority-majority nations fighting against one another, and that all appears to be added to the film adaptation by Coogler himself, because it’s missing from the children’s book, which, again, I heartily recommend against the advice of Wife.

What makes Black Panther work so well haunts Wakanda Forever at every corner, exposing what’s missing and throwing into stark relief the ways in which Wakanda Forever’s story feels thinner and less developed.

The cameo during the Dreamwalking sequence is excellent. As a choice, in the absence of Shuri being able to reconnect with her brother or recently deceased mother, this is a surprising and rewarding choice. Some of the best storylines in MCU have been when heroes touch the darkness, as Rings of Power might put it. When for a sustained period they are allowed to experience emotions that are regularly reserved for villains. Shuri’s rage is alluded to early in the film during the anniversary of her mourning when she tells her mother that she cannot think about her brother’s death without wanting to burning the world down. But part of the weakness of Namor’s entire justification lies with what makes Killmonger and Black Panther in general so compelling and Wakanda Forever so vexing. Killmonger repeatedly voices the anti-colonial critique, the urge to meet violence with violence through the export of Wakandan weaponry as a reaction to a history of racism and colonial oppression of the global south.

What makes Killmonger’s arguments in terms of international policy and within the MCU so interesting is the way in which his interest in a more assertive foreign policy contrast with the America First, isolationist political rhetoric that had taken hold in 2018, which was already subverting some of the traditional political alignment of the early 21st century, the reaction to the failures of American “Nation-Building” in the Middle East, of curbing the expansion of weapons programs in Iran and North Korea, and even within the MCU, the wind down of SHIELD after Winter Soldier and Hydra’s infiltration.

In Wakanda Forever, Namor rightly identifies in a stunning–Wife describes as “Jungle Cruise-like”–five hundred year flashback that his kingdom–seeded by approximately fifteen people, or maybe they’re constantly kidnapping people and feeding them the flower to turn them blue?–that he too has experienced the horrors of racism and colonialism and would like to seek restitution, but he then directs much of his animus towards the only people who might truly be associated with those horrors, Wakanda. In fact, his accusation that they should be punished as collaborators betrays a real misunderstanding of their culture, all because–Wife surmises–the Wakandans suffer from power creep and an ever-growing Russian doll of antagonists who must meet them at their advanced level. The whole conflict feels unncessary and shoe-horned in, and ripe–Vulture bravely suggests, for a steamy, tense romance, which I am in favor of in any permutation you wish.

What a gut punch that Okoye never gets to have a reconciliation with the Queen. Their last words together are “I”m done with you” and that’s not entirely a bad thing? But at the same time, it means that you get Friends who say things like, why couldn’t Shuri give Okoye the flower or Nakia, for that matter (my pick)? Shuri had a good thing going on as the young, snappy jokester in the lab and now she’s the dour, serious, intense facsimile of her brother. And then we haven’t even started with Riri Williams. It’s hard to say that this movie is bad for a lot of reasons, not least of which is that it doesn’t deserve to be mediocre.

The only technical flaws are the poor lighting in the first third of the film similar to how Solo: A Star Wars Story is. The acting is done well. The cinematography is spot on for the most part. The characters are just as good as part one. The story is bad. The logic is bad. And the Black Panther had very little screen time and does not do enough to feel heroic. I also don’t really like how the Black Panther became the Black Panther. It seemed like an after thought. The credits scene is the best scene in the movie and is very touching. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Simple terms. This is another below average MCU film. Phase 4 is still not living up to the legacy of the usually solid/enjoyable phase 1-3 films. Ignoring the other very obvious flaws to this film I want to point out my biggest problem. Wakanda hasn't learnt ANYTHING! What was the purpose of the first film where it was a huge deal about Wakanda finally being apart of the world. That is for nothing here. Its like as soon as Thanos was defeated Wakanda slipped back into its recluse ways. They do not want to trade Vibranium with the rest of the world? Okay fine, it is very dangerous. But... You can't just not do anything. Especially after promising you'd provide some aid. Wakanda comes off as a bad guy to the UN as they want what you specifically told them you'd provide. You can't make promises you never have any intention of fulfilling. So Wakanda already comes across as disconnected from the rest of the world. So when people investigating Vibranium outside Wakanda turn up dead, of course they are the first and only suspects... Something they do nothing to discourage. Which for a while was fine. But at the end of the film... Where its Wakanda verses the Fish people (forget their names) Wakanda still choses to stand completely alone... Apparently just for the purpose of setting up a 3rd movie... Also on the fish people and Namor topic. I have never seen a supposed sympathetic enemy whose been so quick and consistent in killing innocent civilians. These are meant to be a mirror of Wakanda's own people but when they invaded Wakanda's capital it was the civilian areas targeted first. Theres one point when a fish people grabs some poor fisherman off his refuge just to drown him. Expand

Black Panther 2 without the Black Panther is Disney Marvel's dumbest folly yet. Delay and recast were the way to go with this sequel. Way too long running time to sit through a plot so boring and incoherent. Disney so focused on identity politics and virtue signalling forgot to put the brakes on the director and writers throwing everything up the wall and using what sticks. The Namor character was so far removed from the classic origins of the old Marvel comics, he just came across like a big joke with that ludicrous backstory. The Shuri character is less annoying in this one than she was in the 1st Black Panther film but nevertheless, unable to carry the weight of the film on her tiny narrow shoulders. Angela Bassett was acting like...Angela Bassett as she's been doing for the past 10 years. A fantastic actress that was given a stupid plot and reasoning to go against the wishes of Namor that sparked the tensions and war. The Dora Milaje female warriors were even more insufferable this time round than ever before, quite frankly on this evidence, they'd beat the old Avengers and Thanos in one afternoon the way the director has amped them up with nothing more than carry shields and extendable staffs. That leaves the worst character in the film - Riri Williams aka "Ironheart", the teenage 19-year-old genius from the age of 3 first built her own powered Iron suit??? Yeah ok Disney. More Z-list characters to contend with and roll your eyes at as the world awaits yet another Disney+ content tv show starring Ironheart in 2023. In this film she yet another Disney heroine with a sulky bad attitude that knows everything and is the key to everything - a well-used and tired Disney trope at this point. The two scenes dedicated to the late great star Chadwick Boseman were exploitive at best, ill-advised at worst. Of course, I understand the cast and crew wishing to pay tribute to their former cast member, but what was served just didn't hit me in the feels the way the film wishes it did. Everyone has said it already, they should've recast the Black Panther role instead of killing him off, what a dumb decision. Now the franchise has blackballed itself behind the glaring fact that T'Challa is no more, again a choice that just didn't work. A very poor and disappointing film. Black Panther 2 is a mess of a film that ultimately dishonours the late star. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The movie was just ok, not bad, but definitely not good. The best thing about it was sub-mariner, but since he was the antagonist, of course he had to lose. Showed black panther for about 10 minutes the entire movie. They tried to force a lot of emotion, probably would've been better if it came out closer to Chadwick's death (RIP). iron heart served no purpose in this movie, probably should've been a short cameo to introduce her instead of being essential to the plot. The visuals and soundtrack were great. Expand

I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan of Black Panther even when the comic was first made into a movie. But this sequel is really bad.

The female bias in the film is troubling, as the "man" is portrayed as either a weak complement or a figure of fun, otherwise just a testosterone-driven being with very little intelligence.

The obsessive adoption of other MCU elements is also laughable. They compulsively try to implement an "Iron Woman" and ... oh what am I talking about this for so long.

In short: Technically perfectly implemented and as always with clear 3D technology. But the storyline, copying of other MCU elements and this "black style" lead in the end to the fact that you can no longer take the film seriously.

Entertaining entertainment that does not inspire to be watched again.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. BP Forever was pretty bad. Although the story starts well with a lot of emotions, it begins to derail after that. First of all the choice of the BP was pretty bad, but that could have been acceptable if Suri didn't make a 360 turn on her character. Forget the fun and likeable girl genius, now it's just a plot device. It was just not credible in that story. The villain motivation to kill one girl, is absolutely stupid and make no sens. Especially when Wakanda acts otherwise. Is this the best writing you have ? Speaking of men, they either look stupid/soft/weak but none are credible. The villain is boring, doesn't have a good delivery and lines, and his look is atrocious. His choices and motivations makes absolutely no sens and are, constantly in contradiction.
The movie has some long moments without any rhythm, also some useless scenes here and there.

The new Black Panther is too slim, in certain angles it looks like an anorexic version of the actress. And I do not think it represent her body at all. The movie is mare into darkness at least in half of it. The acting was passable, but with such poor writing, it's hard to get better. The effects wer very unequal. The water explosions are very good, but the underwater scenes are not convincing. The MCU failed miserably to what DC Aquaman succeeded in underwater scenes. That movie shouldn't been release with such a bad script and broken characters. I give it 33% because of the homage to Chadwick. It's a big deception and I don't see how they can redeem BP and Namor after this movie.

You've signed contracts with other nations regarding your precious resource? Nah, it doesn't matter. All you need is to give a speech. Your agents snipe people all around the world because they can? It'll be fine. Literally, in one scene a Wakanda character explains how Wakanda has jurisdiction wherever it is? And the list goes on. If Wakanda were a Nazi state, we'd all say how much of a villain state it is. But here, I find the actual worldbuilding and political message spectacular in how ruthless and imperialistic Wakanda became. Let alone how little they care about anybody outside of Wakanda, right? How about billions of Africans less wealthy than they are? Nah, it doesn't matter because Wakanda imperialism forever. I'm pretty sure that this film will be remembered in a few years -- in a wrong way. Expand

Shuri is a horrible choice to pass the torch as the new black panther and the retarded team of writers from Disney and Marvel basically ruined Namor by changing his back story so much just for the sake of avoiding similarities with aquaman. The lady who plays the rather boring iron heart has zero charisma and the introduction of this failed comic book character was completely unnecessary and does not add any value to the movie or the MCU. The movie suffers from horrible pacing with a somewhat decent first act, an ultra long and boring 2nd act, and a rushed finale. The MCU is truly dead! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was sceptical of the first movie because of the way Hollywood was marking the movie; I ended up loving it and it became one of my favorite Marvel movies. Ryan Coogler was two for two as far as I was concerned; Fruitvale Station was amazing and Black Panther was too. Coogler insanely became a director I was going to look out for and eventhough some of his work didn't initially grab me, I was gonna seek out everything he had been involved with, then I watched Wakanda Forever. I hate this movie so much. I don't who's fault it is but this movie is a disgrace. I can't believe it made what it did at the boxoffice. Trash. Great trailer. I was super amped. So disappointed. They better revisit how T'Challa died, like it better be a main plot for a future Marvel project, that more is revealed. Like Skrulls killed him or some other big bad. Ironheart didn't belong in this film and those stupid suits Shuri made, so stupid. Also I'm tired of the MCU underpowering and undeserving characters(Namor)! Expand
