As a black man, in my 30s, I found this movie rather off putting. The run time is long, most of the action is there simply to try and "spice" up the otherwise boring story, and has no real impact on the story. The way he died in the movie, has no impact at all in the story. They should have at lest gave him a honorable death. CGI was not good. Story is totally pointless, movie basically ends at the same point it began, whole concept of wakanda is idiotic, at the same point they have frickin flying ships and stuff they are still at the level of the caveman, obviously cpr still didnt progress...
Also during fights they throw guys from Talokan to the water like its a bad thing for them???... Shuri gets spear through her spine but obviously it is no big deal, she can still walk like nothing where on the other side they can't revive someone who just drowned, great logic :P

T'Chaka's death was disrespectful. This is not respectful for Latin men. Too long, a lot of crying women. IronHeart is a big disappointment. Very woke, every MCU hero is now replaced by a less interesting female version.

I was excited to see this movie as a sequel to Black Panther. I know this was tough one to follow up on, but this was one of the most disappointing MCU movies ever. The action scenes to “spice it up” were some of the dullest in MCU. I was hoping they’d make a good villain since the protagonist had huge shoes to fill in. No, it was the most boring villain in MCU. Overrated and poorly written story. Still a notch above the first Black Panther but then again that was a boring overhyped movie. Story starts with the funeral for black panther where they eventually take him in a coffin to a flying saucer. Where to? Who knows? The movie drags on for awhile with the introduction of Namor with some senseless attack on a ship searching for whatever in the ocean. Later, Namor and his crew attack Wakanda Wakanda offers no real fight with the exception of a few women with their spears. Namor threatens Wakanda that he won’t be as nice next time. Eventually Namor looses in a absurd fight with the new black panther and yes, they become friends. Not worth the price of theater… Expand

WTH dude, the mans final role ever and this is how Disney sends him off?

A certain character's demise is very stupid and seems to be added to evoke a reaction from the audience. Controversies aside, most of the acting here is also very sub-par. Queen Ramonda is played well by Basset, but everyone else falls short. Somehow it feels like a bad Marvel TV show that's been compressed into a movie. It's basically She-hulk but a movie. (Of course Loki is amazing and I wouldn't besmirch that, there still are a few gems among the Marvel slogfest shows)

Might just be me, but I'm feeling burnt out on Marvel. Every movie just feels like an Ad for the next thing. Ironheart in this movie only exists as an Ad for her Disney+ show, there's already a tech genius in the movie, why would you need another one...

Except Shang-Chi and No way home, everything has been painfully mediocre in Phase 4.
Hopefully Kang somehow saves this mess in the next Antman, fingers crossed.… Expand

She also gave Shiri the most literal plot hole armor that can save her from anything, yet no one thought to use that to save another prominent character, or considered what this means for the MCU (practically makes everyone death-proof). But when everyone can be a Hulk AND Thor, gets a free-wish that is as powerful as the entire set of infinity stones, in a universe that will be destroyed by "incursions" when traveling to other universes (which sling rings do), what can you expect. This was one of the longest movies I have seen and it was not worth it. This was written like it should have been a short TV series. 3 episodes at best.

The acting was OVERKILL! Seriously women? You are all better actors than what you portrayed!

The so-called special effects were beyond terrible. The water bomb timing was way off. Doesn't anyone watch and edit movies anymore?

This was an insult to the original Black Panther actor. (Sorry I can't remember his name off the top of my head.) He should have been replaced. If they didn't want to replace him - they could and should have - given him a warrior's death! Why show how he died in real life? (Cancer I believe.)

I'm proudly married - they didn't agree with that!
I am a proud mother of sons - they don't agree with that!
I respect ALL - they sure as HELL do not!
Women and men are equal - not in this movie!

Are my expectations too high because I bought and read the comics? Is this not meant for people who read the comics?

Killing T'challa was de worst thing MCU ever made. Coogler didn't do justice to the character in Black Panther 1, but in this movie it appears he chose as his mission to destroy the character. The Killmonger thing in the ancestral plane was so disrespectful to T'challa. The presence of Riri Williams was unnecessary. Meanwhile, Wakandan characters like Ayo, Aneka and M'Baku had almost no screentime. This filme was a disaster for me.… Expand

I'm sorry for the actor dead but tbh killing the character was not the best/smartest movement. Our beloved hero dies off screen!!!! They could give us an epic final battle, but they way they do it off screen is very poorly executed.

Now don't confuse that with the films look. It looks great if you are into green screen flat computer renderings and questionable lighting choices and angles to hide errors and or laziness.
Then there is the elephant in the room. The whole film is centered around paying homage to a man who unfortunately left the scene To early. He was talented and carried the character with respect and strength. But here is 2 + hours of praising him like he was Sidney Poitier, which he wasn't. If you want a super hero movies and preach eulogy all at the same time with some silly ankle wings thrown in in for eyerolls, by all means go for it.

Il primo Black Panther era un film carino, e Black Panther è un bel personaggio, fighissimo nei fumetti, che sembrava ben riprodotto nei film, ma questo film è un'offesa all'intelligenza.
Guardare questo film è come stare in piazza a sentire i discorsi di Salvini o altri folli, ma mascherato dal finto buonismo e con la frottola della rappresentazione.
Hanno in parte omaggiato Chad, ma la verità è che questo film, nel modo più amorale possibile, sfrutta la sua morte, ci lucra sopra in modo selvaggio facendosi scudo con la sua prematura e ingiusta dipartita.
Da esseri umani non dovremmo accettarlo, non dovremmo farli lucrare, e non dovremmo permettere che questo attivismo fasullo invada la nostra società divenendo cultura di massa. I'm so disappointed
I am honestly disappointed with what I just watched. The first black panther film moved the world but this sequel sucked.

There's a whole arc in this film that literally exists to set up future projects and honestly would have been a much better film without this. Like how can they have the audacity to do this with the most important MCU film since endgame, it's a slap in the face. And on top of that the character in question was terrible (not too surprising considering original iron heart comic was also terrible).
All I've been hearing about this film is how it go it's Chadwicks legacy, I may be wrong her and people can take what they saw differently to me but where was all this? A quick death/write off in the beginning and ok a good looking funeral then it's one year later and goodbuy T'Challa. I think they seriously messed this up, T'Challa is arguably the most important MCU character since Iron Man and that's what they give him? I mourned the loss of Chadwick like we all did but I just felt that the character was done serious injustice here. Should've definitely been recast , they underestimated how much the character means to the world (ours and MCU).
Namor was the only saving grace for me, but sorry what was that ending? Made him look so weak. I hated how ironheart just figured out his weakness and it was thrown off because of how intelligent she is, really awful.
I wish I could sit down with Ryan Coogler and pick his brain about what went on here. I know it was always going to be difficult but I felt like there could've been so much more done with this film.… Expand

Disney already faced backlash for constantly making their female characters the "most powerful ever" (Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Rey Skywalker). Well, they didn't learn anything because they did it again calling Shuri literally the most powerful leader of the most powerful nation. She is also unrealistically intelligent and she knows almost everything about any topic which is an issue with many characters in the MCU (Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker). Classic overcompensation.

They introduce a black girl "Riri Williams" who's also unrealistically intelligent and she is a new anime version of new Iron Man. It's also perfectly normal to bomb the police according to this movie... Or cross the Atlantic Ocean on the back of a Killer Whale in a matter of hours.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine from Seinfeld) shows up in an unresolved plot and is dressed like a gender studies professor with purple hair. It reminded me of Holdo from The Last Jedi... and again: Disney didn't learn anything.

The movie is racist because it constantly calls white people colonizers but it's not funny like it was in the previous movie. I sense some actual resentment this time.

It's still weird to me to see a group of black people dressed like gorillas and acting like apes.

The movie is almost entirely Green Screen and the actors stick out like a sore thumb with blurry masked out edges around them.

The story is about mourning and the result is a depressing experience at the cinema instead of an inspiring and uplifting one like Top Gun Maverick.

It's a bitter and boring Woke chick flick that lacks male energy.… Expand

Awful and boring, it "clicks" with some people because all they need is emotional driven crap to like a movie.

In the previous movie you actually wanted to know what was going to happen, but this movie is the exact opposite. It starts nowhere and ends nowhere. So much unnecessary dialogue that slows the show to a crawl.
Every character is annoying and unlikable. I hate to say this but this franchise is done. NONE of these characters can carry another movie. You won't care what happens because these aren't people you're supposed to care about.
CGI is below average. Action scenes are pathetic. Way too much depressing drama. I can't imagine anyone leaving the theater thinking this was a good movie.… Expand
