Beyoncé did a wonderful job portraying African culture, heritage, music, pain, struggles, history, etc... AHH! The visuals alone were gorgeous and stunning. The movie came out two days ago and is available on Disney+. Please, please, please watch it. I highly recommend it. There is a wide variety of songs included in this masterpiece. I LOVED every song/music I heard. Multiple movie stars, models, and African singers made an appearance in this film (I’m filling my playlist with every single song). This is more than a movie, THIS IS ART. Black is beautiful, Black is King Expand

Artfully Bold and Beautiful!
This represents so many people of color, to the extent where we can actually embrace our roots, our skin, and importance to this world. Especially for those in diaspora that has lost their sense of pride and culture. It's like closing the gap between Afros of diaspora and Afros of Africa. Music, visuals, and art is outstanding. Beyonce has outdone herself! Africa is beautiful! So much fun and experience with this art piece! Very inspiring.

I have been in a long distance marriage because of the nature of my job, my husband cheated on me times without number but since I wasn’t around to get him caught red handed in the act I decided to hack his cell phone to get all the data activities on his device. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The film is a visual feast. Its compelling, jaw-dropping and enjoyable at every turn. Beyonce is at the center of every narrative and portrait that is painted in the film, but she is aided by a reservoir of black artists, dancers, designers, choreographers and actors. And what she did here is excellent. It is extravagant when it needs to be, at times very emotional, saddening, fulfilling and intricate. Beyonce is known to be a perfectionist and this project only does more to perpetuate this reputation. The success of the film also lays in the way Beyonce successfully incorporated African American and African artists, and this is a point at which many other African Americans have failed, as they usually end up presenting their own fictional narratives of Africa based either on stereotypes or myths. All is all, the visuals are great and i hope she continues to do things like this Expand

The Gift companion album was not a typical Queen Bey album, simply because it wasn’t great. But Queen Bey took it and made it something great with this visual album. I think the most intriguing aspect of this is her portrayal of Osun, the Yoruban goddess. She seems to have adapted that persona in herself, and that’s inspiring in a lot of ways. With Black is King, you can definitely mute the mediocre music, but your jaw will be on the floor regardless. Expand

The music becomes moreBlack is King is certainly a visual treat slightly more inherently cohesive than Lemonade. The direction is one of the most outstanding feats of the film, as the colour and culture are so glorious displayed through it. The music becomes more lively in the film's context, even understandable when it fails to do so on its own, but it often leaves place for refinery. The attention to detail is difficult to miss. But that isn't to say that it isn't just as free. That is, the musical transitions really show Beyonce's own growth as an artist but the emotion behind it all is really what leaves you more appreciative of her art and more respectable towards the portrayed culture (which is ultimately the intention). It is quite heart-wrenching.

The film is certainly a message for change and this is greatly encapsulated from the onset. The poetry, the The Lion King references, the clever metaphorical nuances, the collaborators and styles of music accompanied by the distinct choreography are just some of the few ways in which Beyonce influences our landscape again.

It does feel as though it’s been a bit wakandanized, very much a fantasy version of Africa, not really representative of the different countries and ethnicities. As always her voice was amazing and I can’t deny it looked good. In essence it’s a propaganda piece.
