I was skeptical coming into this, but Black Adam is awesome. Not woke. Makes you feel stuff (father/son story). Teth Adam is a super masculine bada$$ hero that the people want to see. Two thumbs up.

The Rock followed through on his promise and gave fans what they want - tons and tons of action! Loved the movie, can't wait to see the DCEU revolve around Black Adam as the most powerful entity on par with Supes and Shazam. As for the movie, I thought Dr.Fate and the kid with the skateboard (Amon) really stole the show. The Rock was made for this role and can't wait to see him in other films. His role as Black Adam is on par with Robert Downey Jr/Iron Man that set the table for stage 1. While RD Jr. is a better actor, the Rock is way more of a bad man and oozes way more style and cool factor. This is DC's Phase 1 and super excited to see how it turns out! Hey Marvel, this is your cue to catch up and put out better movies please!… Expand

Incredibly entertaining superhero movie. Brosnan’s Fate is hilarious (in the good sense), and Dwaine Johnson was born to be Black Adam. Spot on casting. Pretty good solid comic book movie to me I am not sure why critics are being supercritical. Had solid action scenes and a great soundtrack to go along with it. DC are back thank to The Rock
Finally a movie gives the feeling that DC are making great movies again. First of all, it may not be comic accurate at all but Dwayne Johnson is the perfect casting for Black Adam. Also the Justice SocietyDC are back thank to The Rock
Finally a movie gives the feeling that DC are making great movies again. First of all, it may not be comic accurate at all but Dwayne Johnson is the perfect casting for Black Adam. Also the Justice Society castings were great, although we did not get much to know about their backstories. Their past and their development may be one of the few things that was missing in the plot. But fortunately it did not disturb anything about the backstory and the development of Black Adam himself. Unlike the other DC movies, the darkness was adjusted better this time. Also the very little piece of comedy has found a place in the Movie. The surprise in the post credit scene was just awesome and hope giving for the next projects of DC. Wow! So much better than I thought it would be! I loved all the characters and the character development. Black Adam, Me ha gustado de principio a fin, inicio con acción fluyendo en armonía acompañado esto al desarrollo de la historia se va dando y cumple el cometido de entretener. Como se permitió abrir paso a otros superhéroes, en la narrativa algo forzado se aprecia a simple vista. Comparar con otras de este tipo no tiene mucho sentido, puesto que criticar en base a otras es una tarea pueril.
Sobre la historia se relata de buena manera, en contadas partes la ilación flaquea en la situación de los eventos, aunque a este tipo de películas de superhéroes es lo de menos. The Rock cumple en cuanto a su actuación, es un personaje para la acción reconozco que en este movie se aprecia una mínima porción de su parte dramática. Excesos en imágenes en cámara lenta es lo que note. Quede conforme, tenia reticencia de ver por los malos comentarios de la critica, ahi es cuando entiendo que no debo guiarme por ellos.… Expand

Questo film non è niente di rivoluzionario, anzi; è un polpettone di roba già vista, riprende l'estetica di Snyder senza passare dal via e certa sua narrazione e serve semplicemente a fare da raccordo tra il "vecchio" DCEU e il nuovo, aQuesto film non è niente di rivoluzionario, anzi; è un polpettone di roba già vista, riprende l'estetica di Snyder senza passare dal via e certa sua narrazione e serve semplicemente a fare da raccordo tra il "vecchio" DCEU e il nuovo, a inserire Black Adam e la JSA, che probabilmente verrà approfondita in altri progetti (se il film incassa bene).
La scrittura a tratti è ridicola, i ralenty sono talvolta imbarazzanti, The Rock sembra un pezzo di Tofu che si muove in giro, il villain ha la profondità di una foglio di carta, la JSA non alcun approfondimento e sbuca dal niente, la continuity narrativa non esiste.
Ma gli effetti visivi non sono malvagi, Black Adam ha una messa in scena tutto sommato dignitosa e spacca tutto con una certa grazia e Pierce Brosnan porta a casa la pagnotta.
Il punto è che nonostante i molti difetti del film, questo Black Adam non risulta assolutamente peggiore di tanta merda che ci è stata offerta durante la fase 4 della Disney (MCU); eppure, spazzatura tipo Eternals, il ben diretto ma idiota Doctor Strange 2, il bruttissimo Black widow e il vuoto Shang Chi sono stati recensiti meglio.

It was absolutely well done and any critic that didn't like it just doesn't like superhero movies. The story was clear, digestible and had surprises, the kind that made it feel novel despite being a known antihero movie. The story was clear, digestible and had surprises, the kind that made it feel novel despite being a known antihero movie. The action sequences were intermittently spread throughout the movie and were well executed to the most minute of details. Additionally, each action sequence is unique and showcases the protagonist's abilities. You really feel like you're watching a celestial being amongst humans and not an episode of power rangers(like in some recent super hero movies I wont name). I had watched reviews saying the action was over done or something along those lines and thats 100% untrue. The other heroes in the movie are also well done and fans will love this. You never feel like they had to tone down one character in order to make another character look great(like in Thor love and Thunder). Instead they make it obvious which characters are more powerful like in the comics. By doing this, the characters gel well. You can tell they put in the time to make sure the audience saw these character's true abilities on the big screen. It was fun watching Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone(Justice Society) portrayed excellently on the big screen. There is a surprise after the credits and its absolutely phenomenon. One final great detail about this movie is the distinction between Black Adam's way of pursuing justice and the one of the Justice Society. This is a crucial part of the movie. All I can say is thank you to Dwyane Johnson for bringing back good movies and some other thing you must see in the post credit scenes. To the critics that dont like this movie go watch Titanic and leave this for the fans and general population.… Expand

After so many flops from DC and muddled messes of movies that missed the tone entirely DC finally seem to be putting out some good content, between the last suicide squad movie the peacemaker series and now this I'm seeing some hopeful lightAfter so many flops from DC and muddled messes of movies that missed the tone entirely DC finally seem to be putting out some good content, between the last suicide squad movie the peacemaker series and now this I'm seeing some hopeful light ahead for them, brutally honest I was tired of snyders attempt to turn the DC universe into a 300 sucker punch mashup with the same tones and writing that truly was not fitting of the characters at all, jesse eisenberg springs to mind instantly when it comes to casting, his lex luthor being closer to the riddler was enough to make me shake my head and let us not remind ourselves of the Martha fiasco and the use of an actual bathroom sink in their fight, but this I've been waiting to see dwayne johnson play black adam since the late 90s when I didn't even know his real name and he was perfect in the role, DC have finally got it and hopefully this is a fresh new start for them!… Expand

Filme sensacional, adorei ver Adão negro em ação. Gavião negro e senhor são sensacionais. O Átomo brincalhão demais. A menina do vento é linda demais, do jeito que ela desce, com o vento em volta é magnífico. Todos estão de parabéns.

This is better than anything marvel has done in the past 5 years. Despite the race swapping of damn near everyone its not woke. It's a good story unlike WW84. Good characters good movie go watch it

Im not sure what you may be looking for in a superhero movie, but there is well done action and CGI, quite a bit of excitement, and the characters are good. This was obviously a labor of love to bring these characters to life.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. watched the first show available at suncoast casino in Durban. I absolutely loved it. Johnson delivers on your promise of huge Changeup within the DCEU.
Firstly I must admit I'm not fan of anybody in the Rocks family. They are all overpriviledged and awarded everything they have without working half as hard as their peers. Dwayne however has learned skills, upped his game and tough I'm no fan I am often impressed and entertained by his work.
This movie is such an occasion.
The characters aren't developed in a traditional fashion, rather there is a lot of flashback work. There isn't much in the way of groundbreaking narrative. There's very little familiarity with the rest of the DCEU. But it's still freaking awesome. The action is a mile a second, Johnson is probably the most charismatic DCEU til date, the CGI is mind-blowing.
Though the story feels like it's got elements that have been done before it still holds your attention for every second of the movie.
The performances are excellent. Firstly Aldis Hodges Hawkman is annoying as hell. But in many ways the character is meant to be. Hodge plays it will suave matching Johnson in alpha male stakes.
The 2 younger members of the team are good but don't have much scope to shine.
Dwayne Johnson nails Black Adam and makes the character his own in a way few DCEU leads could ever hope to.
Then to our legendary Thesbian Pearce Brosnan, he is perfect in every frame that he's in. His Dr Fate character almost steals the show from Johnson in a movie titled Black Adam. It just reminds you of Gandalf from Lord of the rings. He's imperious and hilarious at the same time. There's times when he observes the rival between Teth Adam and Kufor, in those moments he just looks like an amused father watching his 2 should brats at play. His final sequence in the movie is both impressive and heart wrenching simultaneously.

Henry Cavills appearance mid credits as Sups is a wow moment and he looks comic book accurate. This is exciting especially after we've learned Affleck will make a similar appearance in Aquaman 2.
Maybe Snyder's vision isn't dead after all.

The movie is a must watch if you're a DCEU fan. This is universe building at it's best.… Expand

I came because I knew about the Superman reveal and I wanted to support that move. What I got was a great action movie and one of the best super hero movies in the last 3 years. The story is not complicated nor complex, but is one of the most action packed story I ever saw and it really worked for me. The background story for Black Adam is in my opinion great, it is presented in small steps each one adding to the previous. Is in the end a simple story, but it works. There is no real background story for the League of Justice, but there was no time for it. I loved Dr Fate and Pierce Brosnan deliver a great role. Also for people that complain this is a Dr Strange rip-off, Dr Fate appear in the 1940's, Dr Strange appear in 1967 so not really. NOTE. I would love a Dr Fate movie or at least a series. I loved that Black Adam is so brutal. For a guy that lived 5000 years ago, in a savege world , that saw his child and wife murdered, and just wake up, there is no way for him to have 2020 moral standards.… Expand

One of the best superhero movies I've seen in quite some time. Adam is a refreshing character - not a morally good superhero who never kills but very grey character on his way to find redemption.
