Once again people are falling for Wokewood's marketing propaganda machine. Greatly acclaimed woke work from a toxic and man-hating feminist Greta Gerwig with an Australian (Australia, haven't you got a better export since good old Paul Hogan!) toxic feminist hysterical Margot Robbie in the lead role and a wannabe feminist Ryan Gossling in the miserable supporting role (probably the fee was really really great, otherwise he probably wouldn't have sold it for this rubbish! Yummy) of a whiny and stupid wimp, what more can MAN say. Misandry, toxic feminism, man-hating WOKE garbage at its best! Highly recommended for whiny men without a backbone with fear of women and submissiveness syndrome. Of course not forgetting the many many man-hating toxic feminists, THIS is your film! You could get excited about it until you can't anymore! YIKES! Expand

The film does not live up to the marketing. Its about as subtle as a steamroller and deep as a puddle. There must be primary school books with more depth and nuance than this film.

The music is good and the plot moves along at pace but its like it was written by an angsty tween. "Yay feminism" is about as deep as the message gets and its pretty much the entire purpose and plot of the film. It doesn't offer up anything to think about, just a bubblegum world that is just a carbon copy of the toys. With all the "Barbenhiemer" hype and marketing I expected more from the movie, Oppenheimer and Barbie are about as polar opposites of film-making as its possible to get.

Barbie is at its core a coming-of-age adventure with sharp sarcasm and a plot that involves questions within a film that is much more than it appears to be.
Greta and Noah delivered a self-aware text from the start. It's well written and sarcastic with moments of superficiality (on purpose), a lot of humor, innocence and also of course, drama. The film's reviews, despite being expository and often redundant, are not boring or overwhelming, on the contrary, they are made with a lightness and humor to the extent leaving the viewer entertained, light and at the same time reflective on the issues exposed. But I must say that the script exaggerates in some ways and some things have no explanation, but they are points that do not disturb the show.
Although the film has a lot of characters, only 3 have real narrative importance. Some supporting characters are interesting but there are a lot of characters left in the plot that would not be needed in the film, in addition some of them have bumbling level arcs. Among all, the highlights are Barbie and Ken. The change in personality, the maturation and the change in perception that both have with themselves and the world is remarkable and well constructed. Margot and Ryan managed to really be the characters and what we think of them.
Technically the film is magnificent. The worldbuilding of Barbieland in particular is perfect, no more and no less. The photography is exaggerated and artistic. The production design is sensational and deliberately plasticized and caricatured, matching the aura of that world. Another positive point are the costumes, which, like the production design, are colorful, extravagant and beautiful. The soundtrack is sensational and all the musical scenes are done with an absurd execution of choreography.
Barbie is a feminist film yes. But also necessary, funny, creative, smart and exciting, and who knows how to mock his own brand while questioning his place in the world and the world itself.

A Technicolor Dream
Wow, this movie was a love letter to cinema. From the Kubrick reference at the opening, to the soundstage being 100% real - no cgi for the sets. There were dance sequences like in the olden days (think Grease) and the costuming , wow the costuming. Greta Gerwig dug deep to make this masterpiece using all of her technical chops along the way. The casting director also nailed it, everyone was wonderful.

The acting was perfection, I loved seeing the variety of Barbie's on screen and there were so many jokes that would be appropriate for all audiences, this has to be a voluntary PG13 rating as there wasn't swearing or nudity. There was one beach fight amongst the Kens but that's not really violence compared to today's average films, no one was harmed nor any fake blood used.

I actually didn't like the ending at all, and I was quite annoyed that Rhea Perlman played the creator of Barbie but made two quips about the IRS getting her for tax evasion - something Ruth Handler never dealt with. Her problem was with the SEC after she had signed off on a positive Mattel earnings forecast when they knew they were in a down quarter - how's that so tough to explain?

Irregardless, I want to see this movie again. And again. And again...

I was a little worried about finding the preachiness annoying, but in fact it was just boring by the end. Had the politics of the film been interesting, that may have been better, but it's just everyday milquetoast feminism. This problem is compounded by an occasional streak of sentimentality. I guess I wanted more of an edge, but of course the film has to be kid-friendly as well so it's understandable. I don't know if the film is aware that the "real" patriarchal world is just as artificial as the barbie world, and that this kinda defeats the point of the movie. Or maybe the artifice is part of the point? I couldn't tell. On a comedic level, it's brilliant. Ryan Gosling was as good as everyone says, but many characters also have their moments. Margot Robbie is practically perfect.

Music plays a big role in the film. I hate musicals, but I didn't mind most of the songs here so count that as a positive.

I could have done without the whole mother-daughter thing. I get that it's needed to move the plot (which is itself almost superfluous) along. I just didn't find the daughter character remotely interesting and the actress wasn't great.3

It was a whimsical, borderline funny movie that presented both femininity and masculinity in both toxic and healthy versions. Part of the movie that isn’t brought up much is that during the first few minutes, Barbie World, which is completely matriarchal, is shallow and plastic. Life in Barbie World is boring. Which is why after Ken brings the patriarchy from the real world almost everyone is on board. It’s different and fun. Then when Barbie returns, Barbie and a couple of others use deception and manipulation to win back power. Just like some aspects (some, not all) of the patriarchy, deception and manipulation are evil too. Then after Barbie finally sees Ken’s dilemma, instead of only focusing on herself, she supports him. It’s Barbie and its Ken. The message of the movie is not down with the patriarchy, nor is it anti matriarchy. The message of the movie is life is hard, with ups and downs and then you die, so we should support each other. Just like how some women see sexism everywhere or how some nonwhites see racism everywhere; I think the prevalence of anti-male propaganda in modern “entertainment” has led some people to see male bashing everywhere. I think this movie was balanced in its fault finding and the core message was to support each other. Expand

And sorry 'Mericans, you are good at Marketing, not Art. And this turd of a movie on the most plastic of all marketing is ironically a perfect example.
What is left if not beauty? A social commentary? A feminist manifesto?
It could be considered a pamphlet or a fable if the writing weren't so atrocious. How apt to end this pathetic American attempt at cinematic philosophizing with the great tautology: "Ken is me! Ken is me!" or the profound "I'm going to see my gynecologist". It's a litany of predictable "you go girl" clichés. Some people talk about mansplaining? What about womenagging? The few good funny moments were delivered by the Ken character. What is truly concerning is how many American critics value this drivel.

It's a 2/10, this is a broken movie with incomprehensible pacing, music, scenes, that have literally nothing to do with the Barbie Franchise.

This movie bombards you with scenes and dialogue that will make you confused that you'll want to keep watching. There is a way to make a Barbie movie and this is not it.

This movie takes scenes from good movies and thinks that it works with the plot it is trying to convey.

Did I mention the patriarchy?

AND SOME HOW, this movie makes over 1Billion dollars.

I have now lost faith in the human race when it comes to supporting content that is useful, joyful and inspirational.

The only thing that works in this movie is Ken because he actually has a plot that had enough to explain his actions. That's my review, literal WB was advertising their own content in the background which is insulting to the consumer. I will no longer Support WB from this point onwards. Congratulations WB, you played yourself.

I changed this to a 1/10, because of the woman complaining about complaining. This is not what you should be teaching children specifically young girls.

I found the film interesting as it starts out in a fictitious Barbieland, where all the different Barbie characters reside, and live perfect idyllic lives free from any stress or anxiety, well maybe with the exception of Ken who is a total simp, only happy when Barbie notices him. Barbie begins to have an existential crisis because it turns out her owner in the real world is not happy and this affects Barbie. She begins to have lingering thoughts of death, things in her playhouse quit working, and she begins to develop a little cellulite. She visits "weird" Barbie who is an expert on these dilemmas and is told she has to go to the real world to unite with her owner and make her happy again to prevent the crisis. From here the movie becomes kind of like a fish out of water adventure with Ken and Barbie in the real world. Ken learns about the patriarchy in the real world but can't take advantage of it because he has no real-world skills so he takes the patriarchy back to Barbieland. Barbie finds the teenage girl she thinks was playing with her, however, her owner actually turns out to be the teenage girl's mother. There is some good social commentary in these scenes in the real world on gender issues and consumerism; much of the criticism of consumerism promulgated by Barbie was delivered by the teenage girl and is meant to be overly harsh and rabidly left-wing. Will Ferrel plays the CEO of Nuttel who is in pursuit of Barbie to put her back in her box. It's a typical Will Ferrel performance, though his dialogue wasn't that great. In Barbieland, conventional Ken takes over and makes it an actual patriarchy with the Barbies being subservient to the Kens and brainwashed into being satisfied with their downgrade. Barbie ends up going back to Barbieland to rescue it from Ken and restore the matriarchy alongside the human woman and her teenage daughter. In the end, Ken learns to be satisfied with who he truly is and becomes less dependent on Barbie. The Kens in general are given marginally more influence in Barbieland, though the movie makes a facetious note that they would only end up getting as much power as what women have in the real world. Stereotypical Barbie ends up going back to the real world and becomes a real woman. Overall, the movie is very silly for the most part until the end when it becomes a little sappy. It's very entertaining though and always keeps your attention. Was it preachy? Maybe a little, after all I'd heard about the movie I was expecting it to be, but really the social commentary is part of what made the movie interesting. Expand

"Barbie's Latest Flick" claims to offer excitement but delivers a reality check instead. Picture this: characters with the depth of a puddle, a plot thinner than a whisper, and emotions as genuine as a three-dollar bill.

Hold onto your popcorn as Barbie and Co. prove that character development is an urban myth. With all the charisma of cardboard cutouts, they sprint through a story more predictable than a sunrise. And as for empathy? You'd have better luck feeling for a rock.

Remember those tantalizing trailers? Well, buckle up for a masterclass in false advertising. The film dupes viewers like a magician's sleight of hand. What seemed like a grand adventure turned out to be an expedition into tedium.

In a world of missed opportunities, "Barbie's Bland Adventure" reigns supreme. It's like watching paint dry, but without the thrill. So, if you seek a cinematic masterpiece, look elsewhere. Barbie's latest escapade leaves you questioning life's most profound mysteries: why, oh why, did I choose this film?

In summary, "Barbie's Bland Adventure" proves that sometimes, even a doll's smile can't mask a story's emptiness. With more fluff than substance, it's a reminder that not all that glitters is gold.

Where do I start?
This is an awful, mind numbingly boring film that relies on famous faces to get people to watch it.
From the outset it seems that the message of this film is "we are women hear us moan" the Barbies all have perfect lives where they are showered with compliments and accolades all day long, they have everything they could ever desire but Margot Robbie's Character is still not happy.
Men are depicted as superfluous total morons who are only interested in either power or sexual harassment.
Characters are introduced in this film who bring nothing to the actual "storyline" but instead seem to purely be there to support the narrative that woman are amazing while men are bumbling muppets who can't figure out how to use a light switch without a woman's help. One thing that really annoyed me was the stereotypical depiction of the Construction workers making suggestive comments to Barbie while Ken stands there like a gormless man sack and does nothing, firstly I worked Construction for many years and I never once behaved like this, secondly if I were out with my "girlfriend " and someone acted this way toward her I would not stand for it, but Ken is depicted as vacant and weak.
Visually the Movie looks stunning it's such a shame the same effort wasn't put into the story.
I am all for strong female lead characters but I am not happy with the current trend of Man bashing that seems to be overtaking Hollywood recently, If I were to make a Movie today that bashed women in the same way ths does Men it would be protested against, I would be a pig and a chauvinist.

I was expecting so much more. The film is not fun, it’s kind of annoying. In this film, all the feminist propaganda is not according to reality, even when they call it “real world”.
I love Greta, but this film it’s not for me at all.

In Barbieland women live the perfect life and can be anything they want to be, but when she finds herself in the real-world, Barbie soon learns that things are very different.

The plot doesn’t really make a lot of sense, but the movie happily leans into the absurdity and both Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling manage to completely sell the emotional beats. It’s two hours of good fun and those complaining about it’s ‘message’ need to stop being so thin skinned.

"Barbie" was a nice idea that didn't do it for me. I didn't like the presentation. Maybe it was a little too juvenile for my old bones. However, Margot Robbie was perfect in the role of Barbie. And Ryan Gosling surprised me as Ken.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The plot is literally feminism. I mean, you take out that part and what you have left is the Ken song Wich btw that is why I'm giving the movie a 3, otherwise I would rate it as a 2. Without the feminism and patriarchy thing, the movie is Barbie becoming a human, going into the real world and then going back to barbie land, and then going into the real world again to have an appointment with a gynecologist (._.) bruh Expand

Can’t tell any worst movie then this Hollywood is so dead. This movie lives from paid reviews and numbers which watched the movie because so many girls liked the doll, my girlfriend loved Barbie dolls so she wanted to see it, she hated the movie, if a second would come so many people would know how bad it is, never would fool me twice, I’m so sad that I paid a ticket and gave them my money.. A film that should be lauded for its ambition, creativity, and virtuous commentary. The acting is fantastic and Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling feel like the only actors that could play Barbie and Ken and they more than excel at it. It feels as though Mattel partnered with Greta Gerwig and the movies production team to help make themselves the butt of the joke and also help make one of the most powerful (if not most powerful) statement for women and young girls in our modern world. The movie suffers at times with story and structure but the dialogue, acting and visual design are top notch with so much comedic poignancy to keep you entertained throughout.

Going into the movie I kind of already knew what would happen since I had seen some reviews with spoilers beforehand (no worries, this review will have no spoilers) but I wanted to watch it myself before making a clear judgement. I had high hopes for the movie and it didn’t fail to deliver. The set design, costume design and music production for the movie was spectacular, and it made the dance numbers throughout the movie very enjoyable. Barbie was very funny and relatable, her character development was very well done and you could really sympathize with her struggles. Ken was also very funny and brought the most laughs out of me during the film, though he did also have some very well done character development. The other main characters such as the other Barbies, the mother and the daughter, and even Allan were a delight to see on screen, their performances were exceptionally well done. If you’ve ever played with Barbies during your childhood or if you just want to enjoy a well made and well produced movie, I highly recommend you watch this one. And if you’re on the fence about watching it, I say you should go for it, it’s a fun and entertaining experience and I think everyone should have the opportunity to see such a good movie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A fine movie which serves as an introduction to various political concepts from a feminine lens. The physical sets and costumes/hair/makeup deserve praise for how excellently designed and constructed they are. They give the movie a more nostaglic and immersive vibe, and are a welcome breath of fresh air in this time of over-utilised CGI. The music was good and usually well placed, and the dance performances were elaborate and energetic.

Unfortunately, the heavy involvement of Mattel holds this movie back from completely committing to its own moral messages. Details such as them stealing the idea of Barbie from a German adult doll and buying the business out to prevent them from suing and the ongoing exploitation of workers in their overseas factories (the majority of which are women and children) are conveniently glossed over in favour of romanticising the multibillion dollar corporation as simply the creators behind Barbie. Depicting the higher-ups at Mattel as bumbling himbos whose biggest crime is a few hamfisted, ignorant remarks undermines the dangerous nuances of more covert forms of bigotry. The overall message that women (or any marginalised group) can gain equality just by voicing their suffering in a slightly more assertive manner is sadly a tried-and-failed tactic in the real world - respectability politics is futile victim-blaming because the people in power aren't looking to change their minds - they will keep moving the goalposts until a direct threat to their money and/or power is posed, to which they will do the bare minimum to mitigate it while waiting to creep the status quo back in. The teenaged Sasha, while well played by Ariana Greenblatt, felt like an unnecessary edition to the movie. Her main plot purpose is to be a red herring for the source of Barbie's intrusive thoughts and cellulite, and after the reveal that it was actually her mother Gloria behind this her relevance and transformative contribution to the story is minimal. Almost serving as a caricature of progressive Gen Z'ers, most of Sasha's criticisms of Barbie in her most significant scene are valid - the Barbie BRAND is attributed to poor self-esteem for women, girls and fem people, and is entirely built around excessive and obsessive consumerism at the expense of its workers and the environment. The fundamental problem is that she blames Barbie herself for these issues, narratively and thematically shifting the blame away from Mattel as a corporation (the nonsensical depiction of the higher-ups also serves to deflect accountability on their part) and dismissing her jaded criticism as a character flaw that must be overcome by the end of the movie. The criticisms themselves remain unaddressed, because that would require Mattel taking accountability and acknowledging their less palatable faults (especially current/ongoing ones), and a product endorsed by them isn't going to call them out too hard for obvious reasons.

I understand that she was most likely made to appeal to a younger audience, but I believe that her story should have been put into Gloria's instead - a girl who had fun playing with Barbie dolls as a kid, grew jaded as a teen after learning of all the negative effects of the brand, and then went on to work for Mattel to try and implement real change while indulging in Barbie as a form of nostalgic escapism as an adult. There was a lot of potential for a well-rounded Gloria who was more than an exceptionalist that repeats the protests of countless women before her yet is the one that makes systemic change happen. Incorporating Sasha's cynicism into Gloria would've made her feminism more realistic and practical in my opinion. In saying that, the toxic masculinity plotline was done surprisingly well. Despite rushing Ken's radicalisation, which could have had a bit more time and nuance dedicated to it, the fallout and resolution made up for it (that ballad was really fun and expressive). Despite what some vocal commentators claim, this movie is FAR from anti-men; in my opinion, some of the best parts of the movie are of the men learning to embrace themselves and each other without forcing their entire identities to revolve around anger, domination and co-dependence on women. It shows that toxic traits is a LEARNED concept not an inherent part of manhood/masculinity, and shows that men are likely to be happier when they're not being subjected to such impossible expectations. Overall, it's a good movie for those who are new to certain progressive political discussions, but for those further along the leftist spectrum it probably won't offer much and might in fact be too diluted or centrist for your liking. Regardless, it's a step in the right direction for mainstream media, and the over-the-top shenanigans and fun atmosphere alone make this movie worth watching at least once.

But don’t expect to see plus size Ken, FTM Ken, or short Ken make it past the great filter. Like online dating websites, getting cast as a man in the Barbie movie requires you to be in the top 5% of men in terms of physique just to earn an opportunity to be one of its stupid emasculated antagonists. Presumably all the other Kens have long ago committed suicide in accordance with the values and beliefs of the gynocentric matriarchy that the film depicts and celebrates. As a woman once explained to me, all men are either gym bros in muscle shirts who just want to sleep around, or otherwise they’re nothing but useless basement dwellers. As someone who lives in the desert, I know the dirt’s too thick here for basements. Barbie and Kenough visit the “real world” only to discover men are apparently in charge. An awfully subversive message to send in our contemporary society where the gap in college degrees awarded to women over men is more disparate than it has ever been even when things were previously reversed. Despite the stark realities reflected in suicides, incarceration rates, and statistics pertaining to the initiation of divorce, Barbie desperately wants you to believe we still live in the boomer fantasy world of the early 1960s. A time where men were afforded a small amount of respect on account of dying by the millions in WW2 a few decades earlier in brutal mechanized combat. Without that bloodbath, movies like Barbie wouldn't be possible. Kenough grows a set of balls and decides he is tired of being a homeless nobody treated as worthless by the society and culture he lives in. Thus, he leads a new patriarchy to take over Barbieland. While the concept of toxic masculinity is ridiculous, even I can appreciate that men can sometimes overdo it when it comes to things like violence, excessive jealousy, and narcissism. Rather than explore the downsides of a male dominated society, the film exposes us to the horrors of a world where men freely express opinions, lift weights, ride horses and drink beer. In other words, the real nightmare is that men still currently exist. Barbieland is saved, the men go back to being homeless living in a desert, and lip service is paid to the possibility of a more equitable society. The chances of the barbies fixing anything is as likely as the stakeholders in our society ever acknowledging the actual (not pretend) sexism that lies at the heart of our own society. We are what we consume and the fact that this film made ridiculous cheddar at the box office serves as an excellent representation of the state of contemporary western culture. Nothing will promote societal cohesion more than the deluge of gender studies courses disguised as children's toy movies that will inevitably follow this. If you're the type of lady who loves to bury her head in the sand, the desert in Barbieland has plenty of sand. Expand

After seeing this I understand why Mattel was curating the publicity so much. This is deceptive marketing plan and simple.
This is not a good movie; it is mean spirited, down putting, and reductive. Which is sad, as the toy was always up lifting and inclusive.

The character they want you to see as the villain; if you flipped the gender, the character would be held up by some people as a held back hero. And the message at the end... yeah not a great message, and a hero that thinks this solution is good isnt a hero just another villain; an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind.

I have never asked for my money back from a movie but I did this time. And the look in the eyes of the kid behind the counter I think I wont be the only one. Bc of the marketing it will do good this weekend but drop like lead brick.

With Ghostbusters 2016 and now this, anything with Kate Mckinnon is now a automatic no see movie for me.

Why should we measure our standards on what is right or what is beatiful or what is not based on the amount of followers or "likes" certain people have... dress however you feel you should dress, be however you feel like you should be, stop reaching out for external validation, and start thinking of what things you do make you happy.
Highly recommend for you to watch it (if you are open minded) if you think society is good as it is and that boys should all be muscular and thin and girls toned and thin, then this movie is not for you, and I do not judge you, if you are happy living under those standards then by all means, live by them. This movie is about doing whatever that makes us feel good without taking into consideration what would anyone else says about it.

The new Barbie need a women world with usless men and aspire to lead just for her gender and not for her skill or competences. Is really the message that we want to the leave to the new generations? Where is the step forward of a world that replace the patriarchy with the matriarchy? Mybe i misundertd, probably the movie is too confused and even more thinking abaout the teenagers it seems destinate for. My son and my two daughters start a discussion tha easely become a verbal fight and it was very hard to explain what is "the different" and the "respect of differences", because the movie really doesn't. Mattel try to give a different point of view to its iconic doll but miss the target, leave Barbie to the generations who was made for and the era it rappresent is not a human fault but a step in growth. Saw this film with my daughter. Our screening was packed which isn’t as common as it used to be. There were a lot of laughs to be had & some of the behaviour mocked by men resonated with me. We both enjoyed this film thoroughly.

F the patriarchy. It has revealed the oppression and prejudice on women of the society in a very gentle and hilarious way. It worth watching.

Very good movie. Good performances and scenes. People may say it's "radical feminism", but to me the message was really that the 2 genders cannot, shall we say, "ally" for a friendlier world.

Boring and preachy. The movie goes into important topics but as a whole is unenjoyable and a waste of money to see in theatres

I truly have ZERO idea why this movie is even being seen. It's a ridiculous, goofy movie, with over-the-top stereotypes of patriarchy in our culture. Perhaps if this were made in the 70s it would have made more sense, but certainly not in 2023 where there is essentially NO SUCH THING AS A MAN OR WOMAN... they're fluid. It was NOT funny at all. The acting 'for what it was' was decent. Everything was just stupid. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I walked into this movie expecting to have a great cinematic experience. The leading cast was perfect and the propaganda and time spent to promote the movie was done perfectly. Done so perfectly that I couldn’t wait to see the film, but now I see why they spent so much time promoting it. The film itself is very boring. The comedy didn’t really hit. There was no memorable parts in the film. The acting was subpar even from actors such as Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie. All it was was promoting feminist ideals to the public and to put down men in society. Barbie is supposed to be a comedy, a film that will leave me crying from laughter in my seat. All it left me was disappointed that I watched this rather than Oppenheimer.

I give it a 2 because the “I’m Just Ken” song is amazing, let’s just be honest. Definitely gonna get best original song.

Whether having a poignant feeling or with a dash of exaltation, catching an audience's attention is a salient aspect of filmmaking. And I think the cast and crew behind this film created an artistic and professional job that made the viewers deeply invested. Expand

Decent, but that's it, a lot of the people who watched it didn't understand the message, its not about "women bad" or "men bad" .

I couldn't stomach another minute of that relentless preaching. It's like they're trying to hammer their third wave feminist agenda into your brain so forcefully that any ounce of actual enjoyment, feminine vibes, or damn entertainment gets crushed under its weight. I tried to cut some slack for how they treated those damn Ken dolls, since they're targeting young girls with this toy line garbage. But let's be real, the vast majority of the humor, commentary, and hell, even the message itself, would fly miles over the heads of those innocent kids they're aiming at. Barbie, of all things, goes on to spell out to a bunch of construction workers how she's missing a damn vagina and Ken's packing nothing down there. Yeah, that's what she says, and we're supposed to believe this is appropriate for little kids? And how the hell would they even grasp anatomy at that age? If these dolls are supposedly a reflection of the little girls playing with them, what the hell's going on with the rest of the damn Barbies? Are we supposed to think those girls aren't dealing with the same crap? Maybe they half-heartedly explain it later, who knows. Like I said, I hauled my ass out because I couldn't stand the way they were shoving that damn message down my throat. Expand

What is surprising was that they brought a movie about toys to a successful conclusion; with intelligent humor and a successful message of self-search and self-acceptance, and a collection of cultural winks. One of the great surprises of this summer.

The movie is fun and entertaining. It takes a swing at sexism and patriarchy in a funny yet relevant way.
The plot could have been a little better, but what's really going to hook you is the visuals and the humor. Casting and characters are great, Margot Robbie really delivers a convincing Barbie and Ryan Gosling actually brings life to a Ken that was never relevant before.
The scenarios, sets, atmosphere, colors and visual effects are all amazing. Also, kudos for the soundtrack, it's really incredible.
