This is a fantastic follow-up to Avengers. Its in the top tier of MCU movies alongside Avengers, Guardians, and Cap 2.

There were a handful of things I didn't like, but they are easily overlooked in the bigger picture.
-Quicksilver deserved a longer period of character development, which will now not happen (due to spoiler)
-The case scene with Thor. WTF? How much of this scene was cut? Even as a Marvel fanboy, I struggle to understand the relevance to AoU, beyond setting up Thor 3...nonsensically
-the romantic subplot. I HATE romance in movies in general, unless thats the point of the movie. It felt forced, and it felt unnecessary.

There are times when it seemed too much was cut in editing - after all, Whedon said that over an hour of content was cut from the final product. I hope for some kind of director's cut DVD.

The lines are intelligent and funny. The themes are much deeper than most people get, especially the scarlet witch visions. The other thing that people seem to complain about is Ultron being weak...he almost destroyed the entire planet and it took the whole team (not just Vision as some people incorrectly think--I don't even know where they get that from) to stop him. There is also true hero stuff, people willing to sacrifice it all and not make the easy choice of saving the most vs few, but putting it all on the line to save everyone. A wonderful stepping stone in the MCU that gives a foreshadowing of the intense conflict to come, masterful! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Age of Ultron, like most of the Marvel films, was absolutely fantastic. The combination of action, progression of the already intriguing story arc and character development, special effects, and humor make for a great viewing experience. I thought the additions of the new characters were executed well and Whedon somehow managed once again to give every character their fair share of screen time. Also, James Spader did a marvelous job (get it?) as Ultron. He's truly one of the best. There were only really two disappointments I had with the movie at both happened in the very end. The first is that there was zero integration with the Agents of SHIELD television show. I thought that final scene where they're introducing the "new team" would've been the perfect opportunity to at least have a Colson cameo at the minimum. The other scene was when SHIELD came in at the end for support at Falcon was nowhere to be seen. Sorry but that would've been the perfect time to transition him with War Machine and the rest. Those disappointments aside, the only other elements that weren't perfect fall within the suspension of disbelief. Overall, another wonderful installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Expand

Super fun, better than the original and lacking the end-of-the-third-act boredom that almost all major films elicit from me in this age.

The mediocre and negative reviews this film recieves are from reviewers who I think are yet to get hip to the "shared universe" storytelling style that comic books have been using for over 100 years. The "movie" is dead. We are in the post modern era of film. Movies now ASSUME that you have seen the previous versions, are familiar with the characters and their relationships, and will see it's brother and sister films. The film doesn't need to explain everything and everybody. It also assumes you will see it multiple times. It does't care if you can't keep up. As a comic fan, I find this thrilling. There is no need for the cliche notes that films have struck for years just because they feel they "need" to.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To me this movie was near perfect in my opinion, let me start by saying that I absolutely loved the first avengers, up until Ultron the first Avengers was my favorite comic movie of all time but if there was one thing about the first movie that I wanted improved... it was to know the characters on a more personal level then we got in the first movie, Age of Ultron fixed that in spades...

The party at Stark's place where we got to see them mingle with non avengers as well as eachother, then how they were just hanging out having fun trying to lift Thor's hammer, you found out that heroes can have personal lives by meeting Hawkeye's family (Who knew) some might not have liked Black widow falling for Banner but I didn't mind it at all, in fact I really enjoyed it if for No other reason after 4 movies we finally got to see Black widow as a person, with feelings and wants and needs and not just the shield assassin...

Comic movies are my favorite genre but what some of them do is make it all about the hero saving the day and little or nothing else, to see them in a normal environment with friends, family or loved ones it adds a whole new dynamic to these movies, getting to Know the characters on a more personal relatable level only adds to the mythos of these characters and in the end it can only add to the experience giving this movie a 10 feels like i'm cutting it short of how good it truly was but since that's the limit for how high the scale goes that's what i'll give it.

Each character gets a fair amount of screen time and their mini side story's didn't take away from the main story.

The villain Ultron played by James Spader was fantastic he was both menacing and funny at certain times.

I really can't believe the metacritic score this movie is getting!

There's a good, balanced mix of action, comedy, gravitas, sci-fi, and dialogue. Not only is it balanced, it's all GOOD. Plus, it plays out exactly like a comic book would. Every scene is a panel come to life, in living color. It's a huge summer blockbuster and nothing more. If you're watching this movie looking for anything else (like realism), you're a damned fool.

This review isn't the greatest, I know. I just had to add my 2 cents (10 points?) to this awesome movie. I wish I could stay in a theater all day and watch it over and over again. There are a lot of little details to watch out for. This movie should have been rated at least a 9. It's currently at 66, which doesn't make any sense to me.

This is a well crafted addition to the Marvel universe. Some backgrounding for some of the characters and the team were allowed to spread their wings.

The action scenes were well paced and exciting.

The villain was menacing enough and since he was a AI then it was about the right level for me.

The use of a large block of rock was interesting though unlikely to cause the damage they were talking about to destroy the world.

Great jokes all the way through.

The experience wasI watched the midnight screening of this movie, which began around 11:00 p.m.. I was exhausted because the film is long, which is practically its greatest downside when you are in a packed theater with a horrible seat. The experience was great, however. I went with 6 friends, and when I arrive to the theater, I received a poster that I will hang on my wall.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is bigger, better, and boulder than the first film. Sure it repeat a lot of same formulas of the first film, but to different effects on a very different narrative. In the first Avengers movie we had the Thor vs. Hulk fight sequence. In this movie we were given the Ironman vs. Hulk. There are complains about its repetition but frankly speaking, who doesn't like the vs sequences. As geek, nerd, fanatics we love the cartoon episodes and comic books that pit characters against each other. We know their gods, and just because they're good guys it doesn't mean the writers shouldn't cater to our interest and see them clash. Reviews who complain about the writers of Age of Ultron following the same formula clearly aren't fans of the Marvel universe.

The movies pacing was solid. I personally had a difficulty following the first hour of the first avengers movies. I felt the first hour was sloppy because they jumped too much between too many characters and too many universes trying to push a union and conflict. In other words, the editing was sloppy until the end when I was simply wowed by the big explosions.

The Age of Ultron, however, is better. It doesn't struggle with introducing too many universes, too many character for the first time, and so we get a better film over all - with a better first hour as well.

I did not mind the concept of beauty tames the beast in the film. Black Widow is stunning (beautiful) and the Hulk is, well, the hulk. They may not have the best onscreen chemistry together, and yes it came out of nowhere, but attractions and romance, in truth, can be spontaneous.

Ultron is a bad-ass villain in the film. I loved his wit, and I was rooting for him. The true disappointment in the film was the Vision. He was forged with the strongest steel in the world, carries an infinity stone, and his best power is his cape-shape-ability. He was pathetic. Looked cool, however.

Sure the movie is not consistent with the Marvel universe. To get Ultron for this movie, changes had to be made somewhere. Marvel studio didn't want to wait to follow the natural story arc to reveal Ultron as a villain, so they had Stark create Ultron in an attempt to save the world from future threats. Ultron then goes on quest to form the perfect body, which the avengers end up stealing and animating - ultimately becoming the Vision. However, Tony Stark's bouncer is on par with the rest of the heroes, so he more of gimmick than a story changing character.

A major part of the story revolves around Hawkeye and Black Widow. People complain about this, but I think it was a change from the traditional formula were we follow the overpowered bad-asses of the film. Hawkeye is more vulnerable than Tony Stark, Captain America, or Hulk. Seeing him get wounded and almost killed actually helps you realize how power the other heroes really are. Like they say in the film, the Avengers are like gods.

When you watch this film, don't focus on who creates Ultron and realize you were given a piece of candy. Enjoy It. The film looks good and the cast of actor are solid. Plus, I like the fact that Ultron is created from the mind that exists within the infinity stone (making him a bad-ass villain for the film), and the same infinity stone which the Vision carries on his forehead. I hate the fact that he had to die at the end. I was hoping a part of him survived.

In truth I give this movie a 9/10, but I always score 1 point higher than I actually believe its worth to try an offset extreme scores which are at times, overly bias, intentional, of ignorance - once you've studied statistic you realize how useless these numbers can sometimes be, especially "averages scores".

There is a heartfelt death in the film.

The movie is basically a better version of the first Avengers movie, Avengers Assemble. They were able to pick up on their mistake on how useless Halkeye was in the first movie, and made him a lot more relevant and cool in this movie. The movie contained lots of action just like the first one. The whole plot of the story will tie in very well to the next Captain America and Avengers film. I also loved that Quicksilver and Scarlet witch did not have a tiny part in this movie also. They were as important as the rest of the Avengers. Paul Bettany did a incredible job portraying/acting Vision and the costume design was PHENOMENAL. James Spader's voice acting of Ultron was also on point. In my opinion it was better that the first Avengers film, Avengers Assemble. Avengers: Age of Ultron also had humorous moments such as when Stan Lee decides to take a drink from Thor and mumbles "Excelsior" just before he passes out. I found the movie very entertaining and did not find any major flaws.

To sum it all up, Avengers: Age of Ultron had a Great storyline, lots of action, humorous moments and probably the funniest Stan Lee Cameo! 10/10 MUST SEE.

First off, let me begin by saying that this sequel has exceeded my expectations by a great amount. I was blown away by the sheer amount of spectacle and work Wheadon has put into making this sequel.

Well, in terms of comparing it with the the first Avengers movie, it would be high impossible to impact pop culture in such a way the previous one did. Wheadon recognizes this, and hence the movie feels fresh because it takes a new path, a painful path for the heroes. It feels more personal, more on what it takes to be a hero and and how being a hero means having no place in society. It's definitely fresh, and avoids the mistake most sequels do by aiming to go bigger and more of everything.

Avengers 2 isn't a mass event like it's predecessor, but instead a much better movie that chooses to focus on character arcs and most importantly, the story.

Ultron played by James Spader is a great villain. He's just like a human trapped in robot's body. He behaves like a spurned son of Tony Stark, and hates his father more than anything. He also has twisted views on how to achieve peace, since he was "born" very recently, and so sees nothing wrong with genocide because he isn't human. Unlike other Villains of Marvel, he doesn't just make a joke now and then, and in only scene is he humorous, simply because he is naive.

In shot, he is a very, VERY unique villain that I've never seen before, and really hope that he returns.

However, the thing I admired more about the movie was how Wheadon manages to for around 16 MAIN characters in the movie, give convincing origins for Quicksilver, Scarlrt Witch and Ultron, enough to symphatize with them throughout the movie. He does it skillfully and artfully and it is integrated seamlessly into the movie.

Some of the so called critics have complained that the movie feels very fast and some scenes have to be deleted. However, I can honestly say that it is not so. Yes, there's a lot going on in the movie. But no, it isn't overstuffed. It simply means that you can enjoy this movie more and more every time you watch it. This is a movie that gets better with repeat viewings, because you absorb something new every time, whether it be something you missed or a fancy easter egg.

Overall, this is a fantastic addition to the MCU, and possibly the best superhero movie of all time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Avengers Age of Ultron has done it again. Joss Wheden has again crafted a masterful film that balances his excess of characters marvelously. All of the Avengers get their proper time to shine, with none feeling left out as Hawk Eye did in the original Avengers movie. but by far the best characters in the movies are Ultron and Vision. They really illustrate the vision likes Ultron, he just doesn't agree with his motives so he is forced to fight against him.
Overall Avengers Age of Ultron delivers on every level. The action, the characters, the dialog, and the humor is top notch and is near flawless.

But its definitely a brilliant movie. Ultron is a much more devastating and indestructible villain. I prefer him over Loki any day of the week. One of the best scenes is the destructive action sequence between Iron Man and the Hulk. They practically tear apart a city in a catastrophic and unexpectedly funny smash match! There's a few new characters this time round. Specifically Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver. Their accents are a little muddy but they make good bonuses for the team. I'm excited to see them grow in future Marvel movies. I would have liked it if they had shown more of Ultron though. He's brilliantly brought to life by James Spader and his menacing throat box. I'd definitely watch this movie again, and I'd definitely recommend it. A must watch for Superhero fans! Expand

The story was a little bit of a brain teaser which was a little challenging at times, but it always found the path it need to be on so you could understand again. The film had brought all the original members of the cast from the first Avengers film, their performances were no different than they were in The Avengers. When Age of Ultron was trying to shoot for the stars, they were also trying to break the $1.5 Billion box office record set by The Avengers back in 2012, but they were short by only $200 Million, but for Marvel, the critics and me, it was very successful. The writing is unimpressive but does keep the characters likeable, but that may be due to the great acting from the whole cast. Ultron is a great villain but is never developed enough, so he never reaches his full potential. The action can be great but just feels like any blockbuster out there, and never fully exceeds them in that department.

Overall a complete let down on the film, that is sure to go down in score after the hype has died down. Still has some good moments that do bring the score up, but is so uneven that the highest score I can give this film is a 6.

And wow does he succeed; achieving this by grounding the character's and their stories, creating a deeper and more philosophical undertone, whilst still building an even bigger, explosive action spectacle. This combination of beautifully grounded character detail, philosophies and crazy action makes it a hell of a roller coaster. But does it just collapse under it's own weight? Some think so, but I disagree. Whilst it does jump around, you get enough time at each point to get really involved, and the story's writing even lends itself to the jumpy nature, each scene beautifully setting up the next. It flows. And that's largely down to Whedon.
So whilst it is certainly an ambitious roller coaster ride of pop-corn entertainment with great, explosive action, special effects and setup, Whedon manages to pull all that enjoyable stuff together in a way that the movie still feels personal; a roller coaster in terms of the way it makes you feel. I really cried, laughed, sat on the edge of my seat, got the goosebumps and had an absolute ball. It's got even more heart than the first. It's got soul.
Nothing like it brings together everything great about all the films and comics we love like this does with such detail. Well done Whedon, you will be sorely missed.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: In a film of this ambition, there are bound to be niggles (Thor's cave scene, anyone?) But the beauty of it is that these minute issues hardly take away from the overall experience at all.
VERDICT: The MCU's best film is a thrilling, beautiful roller coaster. Whedon steers it with perfection - and achieves a blockbuster with real soul.

I saw this twice in theaters and even the second time still greatly enjoyed it. The action is properly balanced throughout the movie, and the tease for the third film is setting up what I think will be one epic & wild ride. When you can put substance to cool characters and slick action scenes, you get great movies like Age of Ultron. I highly recommend getting in on this with a big screen before the summer movies flood us all and it gets demoted to lesser screens or Redbox. Expand

With that said, I do agree it is not as good as the first, but not far off. The acting is fine, not exceptional. The story is fine for this style of movie, but the dialogue was not as good as the first Avengers.

The first Avengers movie was something I think just about anyone would have enjoyed. This one is more for those truly into this type of movie. You do not have to be a comic book fan to enjoy it.

For a sequel, it has done an impressive job. Standards are super high for this movie due to the success of the first one. If you go, just know it will be fast paced fun.

I really enjoyed this movie! Not as amazing as the first Avengers film, but it did come close. There were a few things that really bugged me that prevented this movie from being a 10.

Warning: SPOILERS

I didn’t like how they threw us into a huge action sequence. We didn’t even know who they were fighting until several minutes into the scene. That’s a terrible setup. Very over the top. However, after that sequence with the Hydra base, everything became very very good! I loved Joss Whedon's dialogue scenes between the many characters. I especially loved the part when Thor got worried that Captain America would lift his hammer… then sighed with relief and smiled trying to hide his fear. I also loved the story of how Tony Stark created Ultron to help them defend Earth, which totally backfired. It made total sense given the events in the past films.

Another thing that bugged me was how Black Widow all of a sudden was in love with Bruce Banner. Where the heck did that come from? She had her moments with Hawkeye in the first Avengers, and then with Captain America in the Winter Soldier film… but now she loves the Hulk? I guess they can’t figure out a real story for the Hulk, so this gives him something to do. Also, I didn’t like how the bad guys made the Hulk go crazy again, so the Avengers had to subdue him again. Total copout as it’s identical to what happened in the first movie. Although, that Iron Man vs. Hulk fight was epic!

I also didn’t like how this film really didn’t push any of the Thanos storyline forward. It was more of a story about how the Avengers almost doomed themselves, which is a good story in itself, but not for continuing the overall series. So when Thanos shows up in the credits and says, “Looks like I have to take care of things myself.” That implies that Ultron not being able to destroy Earth was of his doing… which made no sense. Anyways, this totally explains why the Infinity War story is going to be broken into two films… because Thanos really hasn’t been hands on at all so far.

I think they did an awesome job with balancing the characters in this movie, while still giving Hawkeye a big piece in the film. I LOVED THAT! I also think they did a great job introducing a ton of new characters (Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Vision), even if their abilities are supernatural, they did a great job without making their abilities feel too cartoony. I was always afraid that when they got to these more mystical characters, that it would ruin a universe that’s been mostly grounded on reality. When Iron Man, Thor and Vision were blasting Ultron all at once… Vision felt like he fit right in. Dope!

The high points of this debate are covered with aplomb and, of course, intense visual feedback.

It's inevitable that this film will be compared to the first; however, after screening the first film a few weeks ago, it's clear that the negative comparisons are driven by nostalgia. This is not a muddled, over-hyped Michael Bay slugfest. It's a thoughtful and intense story of powerful humans, enigmatic aliens, and the dangers that threaten to corrupt us all.

The cast just works superbly. Joss Whedon is a fine directors, producer and screenwriter. He is able to meld the world of Marvel to an incredible masterpiece.

It harbors a slightly darker tone, but still has plenty of great comic relief moments and one-liners just as the first film did, as well as the same great mind-numbing action! There were a few things that disappointed me. I heard nothing but great things about James Spader's Ultron. However, unfortunately I found him to be a somewhat underwhelming villain for the most part. I also thought that the romance between Bruce Banner and Black Widow felt randomly placed, pointless, and unnecessary. Other than that, this was still a great and overall entertaining sequel! Expand

It has its emotional moments, tons of comedic moments, and all the action sequence you can handle I really loved the fact that they managed to utilize various locations around the world so we, one of them being my country of birth, South Korea.

Although I thought the movie was really well done, there were some flaws that I couldn't overlook. First of, Ultron seems way less threatening than in the trailers and in the comic books. Second, in the trailer it showed a glimpse of Marvel Civil War, but it never happens. Lastly, Falcon (Anthony Mackie) is really underplayed and barely gets any screen time, one has to wonder what was the point of having him in the movie in the first place.

Conclusion: Just like all the live action comic movies that I watched so far, it has its flaws but still manages to be an awesome film. Highly recommended to go see it

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like this movie better than the first!! I don't think that a lot of people will agree with that but i really enjoyed this one. Some very cool new characters to the addition of the already awesome avengers made this movie awesome. Voice acting of Ultron was great by James Spader and of vision by Paul Bettany. This movie had many more memorable scenes than the first and not as much humor which was a little bit overly accesive in the first Avengers. Great movie a definite summer blockbuster. Expand

- Ultron as the bad guy is very pale and uninsteresting- even though he DOES have some kind of personality, he totally lacks of charisma- the essential ingredient for a good villian.
- I doubt that there will be enough new stuff to fill into another sequel. In every saga, there comes the point where you get bored by seeing the same actors acting the same way again.

I would agree that this is not Marvel’s best movie (that title belongs to Captain America: The Winter Soldier). But I would agree that this movie is better than the first.

I love the first Avengers movie as we get to see Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye in action on one movie. But this movie tells a much more compelling plot and character development than the first.

After not appearing in any of the Phase 2 movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Clint Barton aka Hawkeye gets the character development treatment he deserves in this movie. He delivers some of the best funny one-liners in this movie as well as a touching montage in the second to the last act of the movie. Jeremy Renner did an awesome job portraying Hawkeye in this movie.

As for the romance between Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and Bruce Banner (The Hulk), it felt a bit sudden and a surprise to many viewers including myself. However, the way this movie handled the romance was excellently used to humanize Natasha and Bruce to the viewers as they’re one of the most violent members of The Avengers and it’s nice to see their soft spots to each other.

I felt like Quicksliver and Scarlet Witch in this movie needed to be fleshed out a bit more. I felt a bit of unsatisfactory with the way they were introduced and I needed to know more about them. Despite that, I enjoyed Quicksliver and Scarlet Witch in this movie. Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson made their characters more likable and enjoyable to watch. I wasn’t a big fan of Taylor-Johnson’s acting but I thought he did a great job portraying Quicksliver in this movie.

My entire favorite part of this movie was The Vision. He is probably one of my newest favorite MCU superheroes ever. I love the way they introduced him in this movie and I can’t wait to see more of Vision!

As much as I am a bigger fan of Marvel than DC, a criticism about the way MCU handled most of their movie villains is a criticism I agree on because the villains in the recent MCU movies have been lackluster and one-dimensional. I am so glad to see that Ultron is not a one-dimensional villain. Despite him being a robot, he has a bit of humanity in him in terms of the way he talks and reacts. James Spader did an excellent portrayal of Ultron. Unfortunately, I felt like Ultron is more of a second-dimensional villain because the way he was introduced in this movie felt like it needed to be fleshed out more. The only third dimensional villains in MCU so far are Loki and Wilson Fisk from Daredevil.

Also, there were certain parts of the movie where you can feel it was cut for time and from what I heard, is that Joss Whedon had an original cut that is almost 3 hours in length. I would like to see an extended version hoping to see Quicksliver, Scarlet Witch and Ultron being fleshed out more as characters.

Despite the sequel becoming a bit more dark than its first, the “MCU humor” we know and love is still in this movie and it never fails to be funny and charming.

Lastly, Joss Whedon’s directing in this movie is excellent and he knows how to make an exciting, compelling and entertaining movie. I am sad that this is will his last movie for Marvel but I can’t wait to see what the Russo Brothers has in store for the next Aveneger movies.

Despite not being Marvel’s best effort, The Avengers: Age of Ultron is worth the hype for many superhero fans, comic book fans and the general audience alike.

This is just a fun film. All of the main cast members of the original film return for the sequel and the chemistry is as good as ever. The comedy is great I love the jokes that are scattered throughout the movie. Robert Downey Jr is of course amazing as Iron Man but he is just so funny in this movie and this is probably the funniest I've seen him. One of the downsides of the original film is there is not quite enough Hulk but there is lots of him in this film. The action sequences are amazing and there are so many stunts in the film that leave you in awe. Hawkeye gets more attention in this film as well and we learn more about his character which only makes the movie better. After this movie Hawkeye may not be considered the dud Avenger. Plus there are great classic performances from Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson. Now there are also some new additions which I think are all added well and all are good strong characters. Quicksilver was certainly an interesting character I liked the effects they used when he ran and I also enjoyed Scarlet Witch who has already been confirmed as a returning character in the future. Then we have Vision who is amazing but doesn't get as much screen time as I would like but will likely play a bigger part in the coming films. Finally we have the villain Ultron. Ultron was not what I expected but he was not a disappointment either. James Spader does an excellent job for the voice but when I watched the trailer it looked like Ultron was going to be a villain we could love that was dark and complex. He is more sarcastic and funny than anything. I liked Ultron but I did not love him. The only other problem I have with this movie is I thought it needed to be longer. Director Joss Whedon has said already that the film was originally 3 hours long but 40 minutes were cut. I hope that when the film is released on DVD and Blu Ray we will get a chance to see the directors cut and I may even enjoy it more. This movie could very well be my personal favorite Marvel film and so far it is my favorite movie this year. I recommend that you watch Age of Ultron in the theatre and not a home because it is a great experience. Expand

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" 10 Scale Rating: 9.0 (Amazing) ...

The Good: Obviously the action scenes are fantastic, which is to be expected. But this time around, the choreography of some of the fight scenes and the way that the large battles were filmed was mind blowing. The characterization was very well done despite what I thought would be an unwieldy cast. Sure, the overwhelming majority of the characters in the film were fleshed out in the first film or in other films, but it was still impressive that Whedon found a way for everyone to shine and have their moments. On top of that, he juggled plenty of cameos from the Marvel Cinematic Universe with ease. The cast just seems to genuinely like eachother and enjoy working together and it shows. The camaraderie is apparent, even in the more tense and confrontational scenes. New characters Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), and Vision (Paul Bettany) fit right in without missing a beat as if they were wholeheartedly welcomed into the super hero fraternity. On the villainous side, James Spader lends his distinctive voice to Ultron, an A.I. bent on exterminating mankind. I was initially leery of him being cast in this role, but any reservations that I had were remedied the very first moment he spoke. Lastly, there are plenty of Easter Eggs and references that hardcore fans will enjoy. A couple of battles in particular, which showcase everyone fighting together, are especially geekgasm-worthy. A triumphant sequel that surpasses the original, which I thought was impossible.

The Bad: Unfortunately, one thing that will bring the film down is that it doesn't stand on it's own. It's tied heavily not only to it's predecessor, but also into the myriad of other films that comprise a shared universe. If you haven't seen those films, you won't get everything. A few CGI scenes were not as good as they should have been, which was a little surprising. Ultron's final gambit was a slight letdown. I was expecting more with all the build up.

To deny that it has really high points would be stupid. The action is magnificent. The characters interact in a very funny and interesting way, and they all have a motivation for the most part. Being a little bit more specific here: Captain America is all of a sudden the coolest Avenger, going hand-to-hand against Ultron and pretty much kicking ass. Iron Man and Hulk have their moments, although not as many as I would have hoped. Hawkeye and Black Widow feel important enough and Thor... well, he's there too, and he's cool. Now, the Vision is probably the biggest attraction. He's visually astounding. And the twins are good enough to keep the film going on. Ultron is a really interesting villain, even though he could have been more menacing at times. But I do hate one thing: the editing. The pace of the movie is terrible at times and I hate that some scenes have no connection with anything. Regardless, Age of Ultron will probably end up being the least relevant Avengers film, but I think it's very, very solid and entertaining. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Although the second installment doesn't deserve a clear 9/10, I had to give it a better score because it actually did elevate the prequel. Certainly, much of it was the same - the humor, the actors (more-less), the cinematography, the basic plot, the special effects, Hulk smash - but 'Age of Ultron' managed to add just a little something to it (having said that all of the elements from the first movie have been presented equally good) all that made the film better. It wasn't anything special, which is logical when you look at the big picture (this is, if you trust Marvel's calendar, a somewhat filler movie, made to lay out the events of the future movies, which should leave a deeper impact), but it was enough. The sequel is far more serious than the first installment, having certainly come out of the test phase, and it adds some depth to the whole franchise. This being said, one has to note that such an addition was not a problem and that the movie didn't lose any of it's original magic and awesomeness (yes, it is still a fun and awesome movie where RDJr. f*cks up and the rest of the team have to clean up after him!). Beside that, the movie gained much with the newly added characters - James Spader was absolutely fantastic providing the voice and character of Ultron (the guy was actually funny - creepy - but funny!), which is what I can say about Paul Bettany as Vision (yes, the guy actually picks up Thor's hammer!); adding other characters from the franchise (such as War Machine) was also a great move; and, finally, the Maximoffs, Pietro and Wanda, or Quicksliver and Scarlet Witch - amazing! Their genesis is great, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen were brilliantly cast and their whole story was absolutely amazing (although they could've made it a little happier...). Also, what I liked is that they finally explained why Hawkeye is useful to the team (really, after seeing 'The Avangers', I've been wondering as to what that guy is doing there - I mean, Robin Hood, really?).

As far as the negative aspects go, they're pretty much standard (lack of real depth, some unbelievable scenes and such), but you didn't expect 'Schindler's List' in the first place. It was also weird that all the people in Sokovia speak and understand English, the Audi in Sokovia and... it could've maybe ended some 15 minutes earlier but, well... you can't have everything.

All in all - a great, fun and entertaining movie you should definitely see (especially if you're a fan - it's a must see!) and a great transition to the next phase of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

Avengers:Age of Ultron is one of the final movies in marvel phase 2 and while not as great as the first one, this movie is still very good.
The action in this movie is truly spectacular and the visual effects are really good and believable throughout. This movie is filled with fighting sequences from the very beginning until the end.And I love all of them especially the end battle where the stakes are really high and a few emotional moments.
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are some of the new additions and they are very awesome and well done.I honestly thought that Quicksilver is not going to be good after what I saw on X-Men DOFP but he is great here too,and so is the actor who portrays him.
I love the group talks, seeing them get mad at each other and hating/loving is just so much fun and interesting. Also this movie is filled with laughs and comedic moments everywhere, which I truly appreciate.
As about the main villain,Ultron,in my opinion,he was very well done.I really liked him,and his sarcastic jokes.which I found funny every single time.He is mesmerizing and not forgettable at all.His intentions very understandable and the only problem with him was his creation, which felt rushed but besides that he is a very good villain.
There are some things that don't quiet work here, and other things that they did which just feel like they are setting up for the next movies to come in the marvel universe, but these are small flaws and passable ones because this movie overall is very well done and interesting until the very end.
