Una de las fortalezas de Ant-Man y la Avispa es la química entre los protagonistas. Paul Rudd como Scott Lang / Ant-Man y Evangeline Lilly como Hope Van Dyne / la Avispa tienen una dinámica encantadora en pantalla, lo que añade un toque de romance y complicidad a la trama. Ant-Man and The Wasp is a great film that while definitely not as good as the first movie, it's still worth a watch. The first thing I can say is that the fact the story continues on where the first movie while also taking place after theAnt-Man and The Wasp is a great film that while definitely not as good as the first movie, it's still worth a watch. The first thing I can say is that the fact the story continues on where the first movie while also taking place after the events of Captain America: Civil War is a great idea since it puts in stakes for the story while still allowing the story to take place and it's a good story for the most part. The pacing is while not quite as good as the first movie, is still great to ensure you aren't bored throughout the film. The writing is a great balance between utter comedy and serious matters to leave you invested onto your seat at all times even if some of the jokes are not. The CGI and action sequences remain phenomenal and keep you excited on how the fights go on, and no fight is distracting bad overall. The characters remain great and help elevate this film, and the actors on top of them are excellent in terms of acting. Now despite the fact I think this movie is pretty good, it's no better than the first film with some kinda big flaws. Like I said earlier, the jokes are not that funny and leave you annoyed, the villain is fine but in no ways a good Ant-Man villain and the fact that they chose not to let her die but not bring her back makes me question why she couldn't have just ended her time with the MCU right then and there, and one particular moment when I felt nervous on what was going to happen but then they succeeded without showing how they got past it and that felt totally dumb. Overall, while I definitely prefer the first movie over this one, I still enjoyed it overall and I recommend it if you enjoyed the first one and I can't wait to see how they end the trilogy with Quantamania.… Expand

Ant-Man and the Wasp is another uncommon instance where the sequel does better than its predecessor, in this case much better as with Winter Soldier. The script, directing and action are all big improvements from Ant-Man 1. The issues with awkward dialogue and scene continuity are all but gone in this sequel which makes the movie flow much more smoothly and be a lot more entertaining. The great chemistry between Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly only adds to this, giving the movie the same if not more charm and charisma than the first one had. It’s also nice that the movie gives some context for Hope’s mother that was touched on in the first movie but not explored very much, which it does in its first scene. The opening scene of AMatW is way better than the one of its predecessor and allows the movie to hit the ground running. AMatW is also much funnier than Ant Man 1 because of the better scripting and chemistry of the actors. The villains in this movie aren’t the most convincing ones and don’t pose too much of a threat or raise the stakes terribly high, but that’s a bit of a nice feeling since this movie came out a bit after Infinity War did. That is the best part about AMatW: it’s a nice palate cleanser for fans coming off the heels of Infinity War and gives us something (appropriately) smaller scale to feast on. Overall, AMatW is a breath of fresh air for Marvel fans, a big step up from its predecessor and a solid and entertaining entry in the MCU.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I watched this movie as a part of my marathon to see all the MCU movies after Infinity War came up. Technically Infinity War was as far as I was going to have my marathon, but by the time I reached that point, this movie had also come out. So I saw this also. It felt a bit out of place considering there were two very heavy movies one after another (Black Panther and Infinity War), because of which it looked like a balloon compared to those anvils. But at the same time it was at least better than Captain Marvel so it gets some browny points from my side.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a very hilarious movie to say the least. I just love how the Ant-Man series always shows things to look very dramatic when they are tiny but they are actually very miniscule events when it happens in the real size. There are many emotional scenes too, as the premise of this movie is entirely about Scott trying to find the Janet, Hank's wife whom he presumed dead after all these years since they last went on a mission together. The very beginning of the movie itself begins from an emotional scene with little Hope saying her final goodbye to her mother. She is occasionally contacted by a ghost as a part of her dreams, which later turns out to be her mother.

Meanwhile Scott has been put under house arrest for being on Captain America's side in Civil War. So he has to manage looking like he's at home while he's out there saving the day. I really liked how the bad guys literally steal Hank's office by just shrinking it, picking it up and walking away. The bad guys are also comical, especially the Indian one who says "This is not truth serum! There is no such thing as a truth serum!". The comedy scenes in the movie completely outshine the sad scenes, which I can say with a guarantee since I watched this movie 2 years ago and I only remember the good parts of it.

There are of course a couple of things I didn't really like in this movie. First of all, the regular MCU problem - a dozen jump cuts in every fight scene. Why do they have to do this? All the fight scenes would havelooked not just cool, but even iconic if they didn't do that. Secondly even the dire moments get overshadowed by the funny moments when they don't have to be. Like when Hope finally meets Janet there is a joke immediately after. I get the movie is trying to keep the "Ant-Man" touch to it constantly, but this is going too far. And lastly, the post credit scene was so awesome, but it got ruined in Endgame. I know it's not this movie's fault but rather Endgame's fault for doing that, but these movies were planned together so if they knew this would have such an anticlimactic end they shouldn't have done it.

I can absolutely guarantee you that Ant-Man and the Wasp will only leave you with good memories. There is no absolutely bad thing that happens in it, and it manages to retain the humour, cinematography and sotryline that one would expect from a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.… Expand

Amazing sequel but the villains in this movie aren't very strong or scary in such words but overall the movie has great acting and amazing animation with a heart warming family reunion at the end of the film. A fine watch, but the novelty and freshness that the first film had has dissipated.

Paul Rudd is satisfactory as the lead, while Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michael Peña remain as solid as before. Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne are cool additions, but I can't say their characters are all that memorable - still passable, mind you.

The action is the film's biggest plus. The shrinking stuff always looks good, too. The humour is at a suitable level. Overall, it's an OK watch.… Expand

O humor é bem dosado, surpreendendo quando pensamos em levar a serio e em momentos cringe - como de costume. As cenas de ação tem uma criatividade satisfatória, se mesclando muito bem com o humor visual, como o Scott montando num caminhão e o usando de patinete. Como eu disse acima, a dinâmica do grande e pequeno foi muito bem aproveitada.

É claro que o filme não se leva a serio, mas a reação da mãe ao ser resgatada me pareceu fora da realidade até mesmo pra um filme como esse. Fora alguns Deus ex Machina inexplicáveis. Porém, como o filme me divertiu muito, mesmo assistindo pela segunda vez, devo dizer que minha atenção para com esses "erros" não passaram de detalhes. Eu me diverti muito e é isso que importa.

The visual effects and animation of the shrinking and growing and the ants are outstanding. The performances from Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Michael Douglas, Hannah John-Kamen, Abby Ryder Fortson, and Michelle Pfeiffer were stupendous. The incorporation of Michelle Pfeiffer's character was fantastic. The writing and screenplay was hilarious. Ant-Man and The Wasp is just as great as the first Ant-Man and to me is even better. One of my top 10 favorite MCU movies, one of my favorite Marvel movies, one of my favorite superhero movies, and one of my favorite movies of all time. A+ movie.… Expand

Very few sequels manage to top the expectations of the audience, and Ant-Man and the Wasp definitely isn't one of them. While the first Ant-Man was a comedic romp with unique action sequences, this second film is ... well, mostly more of the same. It's still lighthearted and comedic, it still has creative action scenes and Paul Rudd is still your awkward petty thief gone superhero. He is a natural in the part as Scott Lang/Ant-man and the chemistry between him and his co-stars is great.

The story itself flows well, even if it isn't anything particularly mind-blowing. The new characters work mostly fine, with the sole exception of (surprise!) the villains! Ghost is terribly underutilized in this film and really does nothing at all. Even the funnily misplaced FBI agent chasing Lang across NY feels like a bigger threat. Another interesting thing to point out is that even if this is a fast film it actually contains quite little superhero action and focuses more on the characters and their relationships.

Sure, this film looks stunning (particularly in the quantum realm) and the acting works very well on all accounts but it just feels too much like a copy of the first film, which is a shame.… Expand

A Little bit Better than the original Ant-Man. Its kind of awkward, many people don't like the movie because its not important to the MCU but i don't mind that. Its because i like Movies that stand more on their own. Sure the story isn'tA Little bit Better than the original Ant-Man. Sure the story isn't anything Special but its was enough for me to follow the whole think till the End. If seen worse in other Superheros Movies. The Action is very entertaining but nothing Groundbreaking. For some the Humor may be very childish but i still managed to laugh and the Actors show a really solid Performs. It isnt a revolution to the Superhero genre but it is Still a Fun time, but it is nothing what stays in your Head for a long Time.… Expand

This movie was a marvelous movie (pun intended) which satisfied not only the eye with it's jaw dropping visuals and amazingly done CGI but also the mind with an intriguing plot that fit in to the current state of the Marvel universe. The actors did an amazing job at delivering the inner and outer conflicts of their characters, and the writing and script let them do so in style and very well executed humor and jokes. The movie itself was almost too entertaining and fun to watch. The directing style let's the viewer know that they had fun not only directing this movie but also playing with it, which radiates of fun and that translates to immersion. The sound effects where amazing to, and done with great care to detail. Either way anyone who says that this movie was not entertaining or fun to watch is lying, and due to this the value of the movie overall grows. Not even to mention the interesting fresh and unforeseeable twist and multiple antagonists. Although there where a couple of plot wholes, which where left uncovered even at the end.
Overall it was amazing movie which did everything good in terms of movie elements and delivered Ant man at it's peak to the audience.… Expand

It has just come off the heels of Infinity War and is the sequel to the sleeper hit of 2015. So, does it live up the hype and does it make a good sequel to Ant-Man? Well, yes in many of the cases and no in a couple. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a refreshing breath of fresh air compared to the grimness of Infinity War and the complex themes of Black Panther. It's a straightforward, fun action romp with the center theme of family taking full center. You don't need to think and you don't need to be serious to have fun. This can also be a downside to it as Ant-Man and the Wasp does fall into the slump of being a typical Marvel movie; which is basically being a solidly made action film with many funny moments, strong main characters, and a few weak villains. This does suck as we had just got the Vulture, Erik Killmonger, and Thanos. Ghost in this movie isn't so much a villain as a side character trying to fight for their own survival. Some of the subplots of the film, including the side villain of Walter Goggins feel a bit flat at times, but it's never poorly done, as both he and the actress playing Ghost give strong performances. And as per usual, some of the jokes do overtake some of the more serious scenes, but this only happens a couple times. NOW ONTO THE GOOD STUFF. Ant-Man and the Wasp is funny, action packed, and sweet at times. Paul Rudd...well, he's Paul Rudd so pretty freakin' great. Evangaline Lily nails Hope, Michael Douglas nails Hank, and all the returning cast come back and give their A-game. So you won't be bored by these character interactions. Michelle Pfiffer is great as Janet. Plain and simple. The action is interesting and spectacular and really nails what Ant-Man is about. The movie is also gorgeous to look at as the direction and cinematography makes every shot look like candy for the eyes. The music is better than the first but not as good as it could be. Also, the story is pretty good too as there is a sense of urgency, but not in a way to stop something, but rather to accomplish something. You want the characters to succeed; even Ghost. It's actually something I haven't seen in a while where you want them not to fight someone but to save the one they love. That whole concept overshadows some of the fight sequences for some nail biting sequences. In the end, Ant-Man and the Wasp is another solid addition to the MCU and you will want to watch it, then watch it again.… Expand

Pretty good film! Sure it doesn't have the best story line and characters, but it's still an enjoyable superhero movie. Well, it wasn't bad at all, but where the hell is Ant-Man! The only thing that made me go to watch this movie is: The suits, action and comedy.... And of course a good story.

A totally different trip from the image that Marvel Studios gave us from the superhero. This movie needed more sets. It felt like 3/4 of the movie took place in Ant Man's home or the Wasp and her father's laboratory. I like intimate personal stories, especially when super heroes are involved, because too much super hero-ing without knowing the characters gets very dull very fast. However, was there a reason the movie could not have included a broader range of environments? And the two main actors all need a little more spark, an espresso at least, before filming. The movie was strangely low energy, despite all the shrinking and growing and fighting. I can't imagine such a problem if the movie starred, say, Robert Downy Junior and Margot Robbie. Those two have so much personality. But here something - something besides the relatively few sets - was missing. It wasn't the plot, the plot with a full range of sets of bad guys of varying degrees, was well done. But some element of personality and/or energy was lacking. All that said, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer did their jobs well. Both leads, though, were missing something I can't define. Maybe chemistry between them was lacking. That could be it. They're supposed to be in love but, I didn't feel it.… Expand

It is a good movie, and it is a fine sequel. But i doesn't live up to the first, especially in the villain department. The jokes are good though, and it makes for a good movie to watch when you just want a laugh and entertainment.

It earns a 7/10.

The cutest Marvel movie. Very low-stakes. What I liked about the first Ant-Man is that it wasn't so much a superhero flick as it was a heist film with superpowers. What I liked about the first Ant-Man is that it wasn't so much a superhero flick as it was a heist film with superpowers. Once again, Lang and crew aren't out to save the world or stop a supervillain. They're just trying to do some science stuff and people keep getting in their way. This more self-centered approach taken by the protagonists allows them to stand out a bit from their numerous costumed peers. They never stray too far from the established MCU formula though.

The action makes great use of the characters' ability to manipulate size. Although outside of a few exceptions most of the best set-pieces were spoiled in the trailer. That car chase is actually the biggest sequence in the movie. The humor is very safe and like much of the MCU's third phase it's one of the defining factors of the experience. I laughed a lot, but most of the early material falls flat because Rudd seems to be phoning it in. Something he does on and off. Michael Douglas is also guilty of this.

The plot deals a lot with the fallout of Civil War. The characters were really affected by Scott's involvement which serves as a driving factor for him to fix everything. The constant references to that earlier film makes sense given where this sequel falls in the MCU's overall timeline, but it's also kind of detrimental as it makes the movie feel more dated than it actually is. Infinity War just happened and everyone is still caught up in that. We've moved on from The Avengers one-time squabble amongst themselves.

At the same time I kind of like this smaller-scaled approach that feels more detached from the rest of the heroes. It allows us to have sweet moments of father-daughter bonding between Lang and his little girl while he struggles with his non-heroic pals at keeping a business going. Some down-to-earth, real life stuff that distinguishes Ant-Man as more of your average guy. His fellow ex-cons might not actually contribute anything to the plot, but it's nice to see to some regular dudes amongst all of the extraordinary happenings. Especially when they're so darn funny. Randall Park is a gift in this.

One thing Marvel has really been listening to and trying to work on are the villains. There's still a ways yet to go, but things have been on the rise in this department ever since Peter Parker got his long-awaited MCU standalone. "Ghost" is another example of this steady improvement. Mostly because she's not actually a bad person. Her motives are understandable and even sympathetic. They just so happen to put her at odds with our heroes. I would have loved to have learned more about her background in S.H.I.E.L.D. and want to see her character come back as an ally to further enrich the cast. Same for Fishburne.

Definitely one of the safer Marvel movies, but after Infinity War it's nice to see something solely concerned with doing it's own thing. This is actually one of the more eccentric sides of the MCU. Giant ants run around and people explore another dimension they call the "Quantam Realm." A place I really want them to reveal more information about as it's even more interesting than the depths of space we've seen a bunch of by now alongside the Guardians and Thor. It's almost pure silliness across the board and that's fun, but sometimes it can be a little too goofy for it's own good. The inconsequential nature of the movie is actually a positive factor that increased my overall enjoyment.

Despite all of the negative reviews I've read, I still found this film enjoyable. While it doesn't try as hard as the original movie to explain stuff with science, it makes up for it with better comedy.

One of the better MCU movies. Better than Black Panther, but not as good as either Infinity War or Thor: Ragnarok. Let's be real here. The only reason why you are watching this is for the post credit scenes.

It's truly infuriating to see a movie with a well-constructed, self-contained story that has a completely nonsensical underpinnings. By that I mean the principles and theories of the Quantum realm. By that I mean the principles and theories of the Quantum realm. Honestly, I couldn't understand how some things are related to the others, and how some actions can affect specific matters. Everything seemed messy and preposterous to me. The problem is neither about how scientifically wrong the bases of this world are, I mean it's a Sci-Fi movie, and there must be non realistic representations to a lot of things, nor it's because the explanations we got aren't convincing. But the problem is that there are almost no explanations, nor what happen make any sense. As a Science Fiction movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp is a total misfire. But what about it as a comedy?

The original play it safe, but managed to earn big laughs thanks to the exquisite visual humor, and smart jokes. This one really misses Edgar Wright's touch in the comedic aspect. There are some funny visual gags that landed very well, but they are way less inventive, and less smart than those of the first movie. Unfortunately, these silly jokes are neither hilarious to make me laugh out loud, nor they are plenty to make me forget about the other 70% of the humor that vary between cringe-inducing jokes and failed attempts to recycle some of the best jokes of the first Ant-Man movie, to other jokes that completely missed the mark because of the terrible comedic timing.

The story itself is small-scale, and the plot is very cohesive. That made the drama work pretty well, besides that the entire cast was amazing. Both Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly gave a wonderful charismatic performances, and they have an incredible chemistry between each other. This time we blissed to see glimpses of Michael Douglas's great acting abilities; he really shines in this sequel. Michael Peña is good, but his character, Luis, isn't funny at all this time unlike in the first movie. I also likes the character of Jimmy Woo, played by Randall Park, although the humor we got from him was hit-or-miss for me. The father/daughter relationship between Scott and Cassie is so warm and sweet. It's even better this time, and Abby Ryder Fortson is fantastic!

The action set-pieces aren't extraordinary, but they are truly fine, especially when it comes to the use of visual effects, which were spectacular, by the way. The final action sequence is the only one that is really impressive, which explains why it was used in fifty percent of every trailer for the movie. Unlike the poor illustration of the Quantum realm from the narrative standpoint, it was visually splendid in every sense of the word. From the creative depiction to the consistent use of colors, I was simply in awe of its look.

I don't want to mention anything about the villain, because I don't consider an evil character who do nothing but explains her motives and abilities through some flashbacks in one single monologue as a real villain! I didn't like Hannah John-Kamen's character as the beta villain in Ready Player One, and I hated her in this movie as Ghost I guess, or whatever. I don't put the blame on the actress, though.

Surprisingly, I found that all the main characters are three-dimensional and well-grounded. Their characteristics we knew from the original back in 2015 are established in this sequel, and therefore the characters became more developed.

Overall, I think Ant-Man and the Wasp is a step back from its predecessor, and one of the most disappointing movies for me this year. But most importantly, it's one of the weaker MCU efforts in the last few years, and this is not a good sign at all. Nevertheless, this sequel is by no mean a bad movie, and definitely a fun to watch popcorn flick as all other MCU entries.

The whole film has an improv quality I loved. I think easily one of the freshest scripts of the last few years. Peyton Reed was with Upright Citizens Brigade improv, I believe. More similar to the free quality of Thor Ragnarok than to serious, tense, Dr. Strange or Avengers. Having grown up with the comics, this air of improv and freedom is more in line with the the best of the Marvel movies and comics. Leave the serious Wagnerian operas to BatMan. As Todd McCarthy in Hollywood Reporter review mentions, the script could do with more emotional weight and consequence (10%?).

I was simply delighted to see the villain-supervillian chores spread out across several characters, all of who kept me engaged.… Expand

Michael Douglas returns as Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer debuts as Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp.

Similar to the first Ant-Man movie, this sequel is a comedy and a heist film. There is plenty of situational jokes based on Ant-Man's shifting size, and the director has made better and more inventive use of Hank Pym's shrinking technology, particularly in chase scenes.

Unfortunately the overall plot, while not bad per sé, is inconsequential to the wider MCU. The movie ends, the bad guys have been defeated, but nothing and no-one new of importance has been introduced. This movie's plot runs in parallel to Infinity War yet the characters aren't even aware that Thanos in on Earth battling the Avengers and has snapped his fingers. The mid-credits scene though is promising, as it hints at the possibility of Ant-Man becoming a very important character in the 4th Avengers film coming in 2019.

As a stand-alone film, Ant-Man and The Wasp is pretty fun. It just doesn't build on previous Marvel movies' lore, because Ant-Man is detached from other heroes.… Expand

Being the first Marvel film to follow on from Infinity War was always going to have big shoes to fill, but I feel that Ant-Man and the Wasp not only did that but shrunk them down and wore them proudly.

Tonally it is obviously bounds apart from Infinity War. The Ant-Man films seem to be setting an atmosphere for things happening on the small scale. Also so never really taking itself too seriously, you tend to really start falling for the characters. There wasn't a single character I disliked during the films run time. Even the villains had a great level of charm to them that just made them that much more likable. With the budget behind it, Marvel have crafted a visually satisfying. The flow during action pieces from shrinking low, to hitting it big is on point. Having watched it twice now I was worried on the second watch through that it would drag in certain points, but the film just has such a good sense of pace, that it seemed to actually go by quicker on the second viewing.

There are some plot holes, but that's not necessarily to do with the film, but the MCU as a whole and the timeline it's running on. Not really a spoiler but the film is set during the events of Infinity War, so it does make you raise an eye brow as to why Scott wasn't with the Avengers. My verdict, if you're looking for a fun and entertaining family film then Ant-Man and the Wasp has hit pretty much every nail on the head. If you're looking for something as hard hitting as Infinity War, then sadly I think you'll have to give this one a miss and just wait for Infinity War Part 2.… Expand

The mix of villians will make the story harder to follow, but manages to make the movie even more exciting than it should be. The first credits scene was really good, ending on a cliffhanger that makes me beg for Infinity War part 2 to come sooner. The second one is really disappointing and not worth it if you ask me. Unfortunately the plot falls a bit flat, i didn't really see the need for the Sonny Burch character, that really felt like an unnecessary sub-plot in the end. Which kinda dragged down the movie.

You can sympathize with the villain, she just doesn't want to die, which most people can relate to. But i wish they would have deepen the relationship between Ghost and Foster, would have made for a much better movie.

End of the day it is a very entertaining and funny movie, and that's all i expected from Ant-Man and The Wasp, so i was far from disappointed… Expand

Overall, it was a very good film. The only thing I disliked and disagreed with is the constant monitoring of Lang by the FBI. The many house raids/searches was overused, and took up more time than it should of done. 7/10.

It feels more like a side-quest and/or spin-off film, at least compared to other solo movies from; 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' (2014) to 'Black Panther' (2018). The movie very much takes place after the events of 'Captain America: Civil War' (2016) where Scott Lang (a very likeable and charming Paul Rudd) is under house arrest, with an ankle bracelet provided by the government so they can keep a close eye on him. He tries to be a good father to his daughter, but his actions in Berlin, where he helped "The Captain" break more than 100 laws can make living a quiet life, not that quiet. Meanwhile, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his daughter, Hope (Evangeline Lily) are speculating about creating a piece of technology to safely transport them to the Quantum Realm, where they are hoping to find Hope's mother, Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer), after she shrunk herself almost 30 years ago, and was presumed dead. But, they are not giving up. To keep it short, this is mostly a fun superhero flick. It is definitely the perfect "antidote" for MCU fans after 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018) being too "dour", "depressing" and just "dark". This will - without a doubt - put a smile on your face, and you can sit back and relax and just watch the crazy action scenes involving a lot of surprising creativity with people and objects growing and shrinking. Lily taking on the mantle of The Wasp and teaming up with Scott's Ant-Man definitely works, Rudd and Lily's chemistry adds a lot to this film. The action, especially one chase scene, is exhilarating and a joy to watch. The biggest downside to this film is its villains (yes, there's more than one). Considering we had Killmonger in 'Black Panther' (2018) and the great Thanos in 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018), Marvel was stepping up their villain game, something they had trouble with in the past. The villains here are rather forgettable. One of them, in particular, seems unnecessary to the entire story, but what can you do?

All in all, this is Marvel, once again, going back to their fun roots. 'Black Panther' (2018) took things too seriously, and 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018) set us on a dark path. The creative action, and the humor-filled chemistry between Rudd and Lily will definitely make this one worth-watching.… Expand

Funny and filled with rushes, "Ant-man and the Wasp" is one of those sequels that feel almost like an improvement from the first one. The Whole premise is Janet Van Dym Hank Pym's wife is trying to get saved from the Quantam while AntMan is underhouse arrest.The story was simple enough and built
Around it which is why it was so good.The first act was a tad slow but not boring is it set up where the characters are and had some fun action especially with the introduction of the Wasp.The second act was a kind of boring with the pace diping and nothing exciting happening.The third act picked up the pace and the chunk of the action was in the last 30 minutes so that was my favorite part.The villain or antagonist of the movie Ghost wasn't bad but not really that interesting she has a reason to be there but didn't add anything significant with the plot expect for fancy powers which made for good effects.Michael Douglas' performance amd Pual Rudd were the best characters in the movie as they were serious when needed to be and funny when needed to be.The Wasp as I said was cool with as a good enough performance from lilly.Michelle Pfeiffer did well in the role she was given and had good chemistry in the scenes she had with Michael Douglas.
Antman and the Wasp was funnier than the first one but of course its Marvel but It had some out of place humor that took away from the serious moments but of course again its Marvel.This had more action as well but mainly in the last 40 minutes or so because as I said the second act was mostly slow and kind of dragged on.
So what to take away from all of this is that Antman and the wasp is similar to Back to the Future its funny,has a story with a heart and just a plain fun blockbuster.… Expand

But luckily,Ant-Man And The Wasp not only surpasses the first one in basically everything (even the music),but manages to be a delirious time at the movies while still being a Marvel movie that follows the MCU's Path,with an ending that will destroy everyone feeling-wise.
Now,when I said it surpasses the first movie,it DOES improve everything and anything. (Like when you notice some errors in a Videogame Beta and the creators actually listen instead of downgrading everything) The Comedy has gotten a bit more creative (and funny) and it's impressive to look at. Oh,and of course Luis (played by Michael Peña) stole the show. Same thing for the Action (especially if you see this in IMAX 3D). As someone who has never seen the first one in 3D,this may be some of the best 3D I've seen in my life. Not only that,but the story has gotten a bit more fluid,whereas in the first Ant-Man it was a good time with a (kind of) disjointed story. The villain has also been improved. Instead of a dude in a much more powerful suit,we have a femme fatale who can “walk through walls and stuff” while having an interesting moral at the same time (like Killmonger).
Overall...wow… this must be really boring to not see any flaws in a Marvel movie (kind of, there's one I can't get into because Spoilers,although I can say it's about the Timeline),but at the same time,it must be surprising. The movie was a blast in the end and,for curiosity,as a sequel,makes it for one of Marvel’s more creative franchises that the studio should be proud of.… Expand

Ant-Man and the Wasp picks up after Captain America: Civil War, and basically Scott isn't doing Ant-Man stuff anymore because he's under house arrest for two years due to his part in the airport fight. He still has the suit and everything, but his days are primarily spent entertaining his daughter and helping Luis with their security company. Eventually, he has a vision of Dr. Pym's wife and he calls him, which results in Hope (the Wasp) knocking him out and bringing him to their lab because they want to rescue Mrs. Pym from the quantum realm. He then eventually gets back into the Ant-Man suit and that's where the film really kicks off. I found the story of this film to be completely and utterly okay. I was entertained. However, I think that this is one of the weakest Marvel stories that has been portrayed on the big screen since perhaps the first Ant-Man. Take Paul Rudd's humor out (which I really do enjoy) and this story is frankly kind of....meh. Our heroes spend a fairly large portion of the film trying to obtain a part of technology necessary to their mission, and then finding a spot to set up the lab and complete the mission, but the villain gives them some trouble along the way. The villain, while somewhat relatable, is once again weak and the other "bad guy" portrayed by Walton Goggins is about as cookie cutter as it gets. There's never really a sense of danger. The villains seem more like annoyances that the heroes have to deal with, and it's always known that they will complete their mission by the end of the story. I can respect that this film does seem fairly self-contained apart from the after-credits scene that ties it in to Avengers: Infinity War, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's just an okay story. Characters: I do really like the character of Scott Lang. His humor is very wholesome and genuine, and he is one of the more relatable heroes in the current MCU. Hope is also a solid partner for him both on missions as the Wasp and otherwise. Also, while a lot of people seem to really like Luis (Michael Pena), I can't stand him. I find him entirely unfunny, and every time he took control of a scene I was just waiting for him to be off screen. Overall: I had a good time watching Ant-Man and the Wasp. It provided what I have come to expect from Marvel films: entertainment. Is it fairly typical? Yeah. Will it go down as one of my favorite Marvel films? Nah.… Expand

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a great stand along movie. While it doesn't connect much to the MCU as a whole, it is a fun time and worth a watch. After Infinity War we needed a light hearted and fun film which is exactly what this is. The daughter,Ant-Man and the Wasp is a great stand along movie. The daughter, played by Abby Ryder, is great and steals every scene she is in. The villains are are ok and one of them is basically useless and could have been taken out of the film entirely. The action is well done and the choreography is spot on. There is a lot to like about this film and the ending hints at what is to come, which is really exciting to think about. This film shows that Marvel really cannot make a bad film and continues to succeed with each release. Now the long wait begins until Captain Marvel in March 2019!… Expand

The dialogue was very flat. The comedy fell flat also. I dunno but some of those scene should have been reshot with that dialogue! Evangeline Lilly is hot! Michael Douglas lost his acting chops.

Le film a cumulé plus de 1,3 milliard de $ au cinéma en 18 semaines d’exploitation, un record. Record battu quelques semaines plus tard avec la sortie du très attendu Avengers: Infinity War, troisième opus de la franchise qui réunissait la quasi-intégralité des héros et vilains déjà apparus dans le MCU. Le film des frères Russo a cumulé plus de 2 milliards de $ en seulement 9 semaines de projection. Après le passages de ces deux mastodontes, quel film aura le courage de pointer le bout de son nez… Ant-Man et la Guêpe.



Après avoir créer la surprise avec une aventure drôle et émouvante, Scott Lang est donc de retour au cinéma dans un second opus qui aura la lourde tache de clôturer un année de films Marvel. Le film prend place deux ans après les événements de Captain America: Civil War et l’arrestation de Scott en Allemagne. Voulant profiter de sa fille Cassie, notre héros a demandé de purger sa peine en étant assigné à résidence. Trois jours avant sa libération et le début de sa mise à l’épreuve, il est kidnappé par Hank Pym et sa fille Hope devenus fugitifs après la signature des accords de Sokovie. Ils lui demandent son aide pour retrouver Janet, femme de Hank et mère de Hope, coincée dans le plan quantique et qui semble avec une connexion particulière avec Scott depuis que celui-ci ait visité le-dit plan pour venir à bout de Yellow Jacket dans le premier opus. S’en suit une course contre la montre entre un trafiquant de technologie et un mystérieux personnage surnommé Ghost pouvant entrer en phase et traverser la matière. (On arrête là pour l’histoire pour ne pas vous spoiler !)

Ce second volet a été une très bonne surprise notamment grâce à l’humour en deux tons (à la fois adulte et enfantin) mais aussi avec des personnages attachants. Le film met l’accent sur Captain America: Civil War de façon judicieuse car les événements d’Infinity War n’ont pas encore eu lieu. Peyton Reed a préféré travailler le personnage et faire un film à part entier sauvant ainsi l’intrigue du quatrième Avengers et de Captain Marvel. Un personnage alors que l’affiche annonce une coéquipière, me direz vous ? Alors non, Scott n’est pas seul et il est loin de l’être tellement Evangeline Lilly est excellente dans le rôle de la Guêpe. Elle est tellement charismatique que par moment elle éclipse notre bonne vieille fourmi. Le duo marche à merveille et donne lieu à de sympathiques dialogues et scènes hilarantes entre les deux ex-amants. Visuellement plaisant, certains fans de SF et de fantastiques verront quelques hommages à de grands classiques comme L’Aventure Intérieure de Joe Dante ou encore Le Voyage fantastique de Richard Fleischer. D’autres y verront et laisseront une petite larme en hommage à Mimi la fourmi de Chérie, j’ai rétréci les gosses de Joe Johnston.



Ant-Man et la Guêpe n’a pas à rougir face à un Black Panther ou un Avengers: Infinity War ravageur, le titre est frais et avec une bonne dose d’humour. Les effets visuels sont de toute beauté mis à part quelques scènes de courses-poursuites qui sentent la « fin de budget ». Les scènes de combat sont impressionnantes et très bien millimétrés avec des affrontements d’anthologies entre Ant-Man, La Guêpe et Ghost. Une Ghost touchante incarnée par la talentueuse Hannah John-Kamen que l’on a pu voir dans l’excellent Ready Player One et le mitigé mais sympathique Tomb Raider en début d’année. Chaque personnage a son importance, mis à part Maggie et Paxton qui font seulement quelques apparitions. C’est avec un grand plaisir que l’on retrouve aussi Michelle Pfeiffer dans un film de super-héros 26 ans après le Batman Returns de Tim Burton où elle incarnait la féline Catwoman. En bref, une bonne surprise, un très bon moment de passé et un Scott Lang toujours aussi sympathique et attachant. On en veut encore plus et il va falloir s’armer de patience pour découvrir le prochain film, Captain Marvel attendu pour le 6 mars 2019 dans nos contrées.… Expand

After Scott Lang comeback of the quantum realm, until then impossible, Hope, Scott and Hank Pym, will trie to pull out Janet, the original wasp, from there. To do it so, they will need to get some equipments, face some trouble caused by old situations, and deal with other people that want their stuff. All of that while Scott still is trying to trick the cops and take care of his daughter.
This movie is meant to be fun with zero deepening in the subjects that he stands in, if you are looking for something that is deep and goes beyond the marvel standard this isn't for you, but if you want a fun movie that will not make you think much and have a good time, this may be perfect. It's a lightweight movie, that you can watch, have a deep breath and relax with some fun moments and some fun characters and a simple story.
The actresses and actors are a high point, they are all so cool and fun. Evangeline Lilly is very fun and have great expressions, you totally buy her in the action scenes, she did a really nice job being able to pass emotions and peculiar moments while with Paul, being distrustful but at the same time testing. Paul Rudd isn't very different, he don't have big expressions as Evangeline, but in other hand he have a great comical timing and really pass the nice guy idea, he is also very fun. Michael Douglas was the most serious good guy in the movie but at the same he had to intertwine it with comic moments, he also were able to express emotions in determinated moments. Michelle Pfeiffer had really little time in the movie, i don't think she could pass much emotions as it was suposed to, but considering the movie tone, it was very functional. Michael Peña really deserves a light because he had one job in this movie, make us laugh, and he did it well.
The action scenes are creative, but not that much, i mean, the situation with the size of objects, cars, the increasing and decreasing the size of the things and people is what make the difference here, it is a kind of power that we don't see in other movies with any frequency, so it is not just cool but different as well, but at the same time you feel that it could be better.
The relationship between Scott and Hope is another big point here, the two actors definely have some chemistry wich make the conversations and atittudes among them be not just natural, but pretty.
I get that the point of the movie never was to be deep or explain anything, but i believe that they could have sacrifice some fbi invading Scott's house time, wich happens a lot, to show more and make us feel more about the quantum realm, the quantum realm is what they are talking about the whole movie and what the plot is about, and when they finally reach there, it is beautiful, but it is so fast and don't show almos anything. Janet was there for many and many years, she says that she is changed, but they gave no clue about how she survived there for so long, how that place works, what possibilities it give, considering that the movie is about that place, i really expected them to develop more. The story of the movie doesn't try to surprise us any time, it is very predictable, and it does have some questionable things that may be considered as plot holes. The Ghost character is good, it does have a very clear motivation wich make total sense. The movie also have way to many subplots, every character have a little arc and that may have make the movie get a little swollen. One pretty good thing of the movie is the relationship between the characters, so as the Scott and his daughter, that is formidable. One thing that i found really good here, is the dimension of the story, i like to say that not all super hero movies need to save the world like a lot of them does, this one it is good in this sense, it is just a rescue and assault movie.
The visual effects work in the majority of the movie, in some moments the green screen got to obvious wich bothered me, the Ghost effects i found pretty cool, not just her moviment but that combined with the voice altered really gave a badass looking character. The effects of the the increasing and decreasing the size were pretty good.
The movie is fun, definely give some nice laughs, the action is good, the movie is very episodical and doesn't present nothing new, it was made intended to be just a little adventure with some fun and a family junction. Definely a not very memorable one.… Expand

While this is an important film to the overall story of the MCU, it is also a very strong standalone entry that can be enjoyed by anyone who happens by.
