This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Can't believe the quality of this event Marvel movie. Extremely bad writing and so so effects. Acting is decent and the director gives an effort with this mess. A few good laughs and that might be good enough to warrant it's existence to some. Expand

Horrible experience. The film throws you into a puke infested fever dream. You surrounded by hideous environments following characters through a ridiculous meaningless story with more holes than an ant farm.

The third ant-man film was okay not as bad as the 2nd one but doesn't strike nearly as hard as the third, definitely better than most of phase and is an okay start to phase 5.

Without going into any spoilers i can say that it would be something to wait for until it releases on disney+ as it's not worth the price of a ticket to see.

Kang is amazing in the film and brings great energy to the film overall.

The comedy however falls flat on it's face as it struggles to bring a smile nevermind a laugh. This was in strong part due to the absence of Scots ex con associates as they do not appear in the movie at all and are never mentioned again.

As for end credit scenes there is two however the 2nd one is simply a trailer for loki season 2 which i'm sure you can find on youtube. I would only recomend staying for the first scene and then leaving the theatre.

overall a 6/10 no more as it simply doesn't deserve it but it's nowhere near as bad as the eternals.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie gets a suprising amount of hate, which I dont fully understand I thought the movie was very entertaining. It doesn't always take itself seriously but ant man movies never did that and I think that a part of their charm. The last marvel movie Thor 4 was also criticised that it focused to much on comedy and didn't take the time to be serious, Ant Man 3 had a lot of things that were even weirder and more ridiculous than in Thor but they managed to make something so silly feel quite serious and not just a total joke. At the end of the film at somepoint when they were fighting kangs army they get support from a giant army made of highly advanced futuristic ants, at the start when everyone got sucked into the quantum realm hanks ants in the room got somewhere lost in time and build a civilation much more advanced than our own for thousands of years. It felt fitting for ant man to fight kang with an army of giant ants kind of like in the first movie but this time the ants could actually do something and honestly the scene where the ants stormed kangs palace was just awesome. This movie has so many absolutely crazy and ridiculous ideas but I think they pulled it off perfectly, especially with these crazy ideas the cgi is critiqued as rushed or just generaly bad when I watched the movie I didn't notice any of that critic maybe the cgi is flawed but not that much that you will actually notice watching the movie in cinema. Kang was of course the main villain of the movie and they really showed just how absurdly powerful kang is, I don't think that scott should have defeated him the way he did I don't want scott to die but it would have been better if scott sacrificed himself to defeat kang. I think the movie is incredible there are a few flaws but you will enjoy the movie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Paul Rudd and Johnathan Majors, unfortunately, can not save this film from being a star wars junk fest trying to savor a satisfactory intro to Phase 5. Michelle Phifer is a scene stealer, but Micheal Douglas feels old and tired trying to fit into a bubbly world. Evangeline Lily is boring and feels very stand-in for priceless action. Johnathan Majors is an interesting Villian and I'm excited to watch his progression as a show stopper he steals every line every dialogue every chunk of the film and the story shapes around his safe goat. Kathryn Newton is kind of the blandest and most mundane part she soils her part by running and blanky yelling "Dad!" with deadpan emotions. Corey Stoll returns as his character Darren and plays the goofy CGI MODOK who doesn't do much but lives to die not being "a dick" kind of lame. The film ends with a Creed showcase as he beats the absolute **** out of Paul Rudd. The Ending of this film plays as sitcom as before but the wonderment of victory fills in the air which leads us to believe it isn't over. the mid-credit sequence features three weirds looking Kang's talking about the conqueror they banished and the branched timelines they summon the council of Kang's, and the ending credits is a loki season 2 teaser with another Kang Varient called VICTOR TIMELY! my review is something positive this film is a 6.7/10 it's a mesh between Star Wars and Marvel although it isn't a perfectly good story it's a fun roller coaster that sets up the grander scheme of this crazy cinematic universe Expand

This is the 3rd installment of the Ant-Man franchise with Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer returning. They end up in the quantum world where they encounter various weird creatures before running into the inevitable uber villain Kang (Jonathan Majors). All of the usual Marvel elements are present in a rather mundane package. The fight sequences lack any originality or even interesting staging. The production design features some cool creatures and environments, but they feel like references to the aforementioned Disney flick and the Avatar films. The one thing that usually helps set this series apart is Rudd's offhand comic charms, which are also in short supply this time. You may be getting the idea: This is a bland blend of superhero tropes that offers nothing new or exciting. Of course, stay thru the credits for multiple Kang encounters. [usr =1.5] Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, in my opinion, the best Marvel movies so far have always been the ones that don’t take themselves too seriously - but Antman 3 kinda fails to do that. It tries very hard to deliver a big epic finale to the Antman trilogy, but given the recent introduction of the Multiverse in the MCU, the stakes have never felt lower; and they were already pretty low, since this is HOLLYWOOD BABY and no one can die, unless the merchandise stops selling! It tries to be fun and different, but fails most of the time; mostly due to some seriously cheesy jokes, terrible performances, an over-reliance on CGI and one of the most by-the-number scores of any Marvel movie ever. Not even the most ridiculous movie villain in history, Modok, manages to leave any kind of impression. It felt mostly like a mediocre 90s sci-fi movie, with a very conveluted, boring plot, and waaaaaaaaaaay too much subpar visual effects (especially Modok, who looks nothing like the actor he’s supposed to resemble).
Kang The Conqueror returns from Loki and delivers the best performance of the cast, but that’s not saying much. His character is still explained poorly, and especially his end-credits scene was cringe worthy. He makes for a much less intimidating foe than Thanos did, in the previous saga of movies, and even though I’ve read a fair amount of comics, I still have no idea what he’s trying to do in the MCU, or why he’s doing it. Not even Gregg Turkington’s cameo or the tie-in to his fake movie review show “Gregg Turkington’s Our Cinema At The Cinema Starring Tim Tiedecker”, can save this mess of a movie. The best parts are a couple of silly creature designs + the few scenes that wasn’t filmed in front of a blue screen; here, the actors feel more comfortable (maybe because they actually have an idea about what’s going on).

Worst part of the movie though, is how it completely fails to utilize it’s main characters and their powers; the shrinking/supersizing. There are a few scenes with it here and there, but it’s used inconsistently and doesn’t introduce any new cool ideas into the action, like the previous movies managed to do.
Sure, there are some kaiju-like fight sequences and a couple of big ants, but at this point, we’ve seen it all before. The steam is really running out of the Marvel engine, and Antman 3 is another nail in this slowly sinking coffin.

It's visually awesome to look at but I didn't feel invested at all. Like Multiverse of Madness, the leads aren't given the central attention especially Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp. Paul Rudd is great as Antman but he is also buried under so many other things going on. The rebels on the Quantum Realm was okay but they were an unnecessary inclusion because it Antman and the Wasp I thought needed more development time for development. I thought Jonathan Majors as Kang was good but I wasn't as crazy about him like everyone else. I thought the best parts were the scenes with Michelle Pfeiffer and Kang. I also thought her and Michael Douglas looked amazing in the film and Hank Pym had some really funny lines. I enjoyed the first act alot more than the latter half especially the Bill Murray scene. Who is played brilliantly by Jonathan Majors. He is manipulative and intimating and I'm looking forward to how dangerous he will be when facing The Avengers.
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are fantastic as Scott and Hope.Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer are just awesome and Kathryn Newton is great as Cassie. They bring so much heart and passion to their characters and you don't want anything bad to happen to them.
Sadly Luis and the rest of the crew are missing for their hilarious comedy as 95% of this movie takes place in the Quantum Realm and isn't as funny as the previous movies. The cgi can be hit and miss at times.
However I've always wanted to see Scott and Hope kick ass as I've felt they are underrated because they aren't Thor, Captain America, Iron-man or Hulk. They bring it and show no fear. They are willing to do whatever is necessary no matter the cost proving that they are heroes and deserve to be called Avengers!
Overall I really liked this movie and look forward to Ant Man and The Wasp part 4!

This was entertaining, funny, thrilling, and engaging - the story was interesting, the themes were pertinent and reasonably well flushed out for a popcorn blockbuster, and I genuinely like Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and the ensemble cast. I don't understand the negative reviews and hatred. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Marvel Studios' Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania (released 17th February 2023), was an excellent addition to the Canon Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the first film of phase 5 of the MCU, and a fine way to kick off the phase. The main cast - Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton - were brilliantly chosen, all fulfilling their roles perfectly. Jonathan Majors - playing the role of Kang the conquerer - was first seen in Loki and has been one of the most anticipated villains in the MCU. The film itself begins with Scott Lang walking around a world where he is famous, as a member of the Avengers. He soon ends up stuck in the quantum realm, by the tyrant known as Kang. The film itself contains many fun Easter eggs and references. There are two post credit scenes, both equally interesting and important to the future of the MCU. The film also features the return of Darren Cross (Corey Still) as MODOK. In the first film Darren took the role of Yellow jacket, and he returns for revenge in this film. One thing I did not like about the film was that it may be harder for people who do not pay full attention to the MCU to understand, however for serious Marvel fans such as myself, I would absolutely recommend this film. Overall, I give it an 8 out of 10. Expand

Paul Rudd is still, mostly, the heart of the movie, but the actress that portrays his daughter lacks any charisma, and her path from a little girl into the next super-hero is a bit unclear.

Michelle Pfeiffer and Jonathan Majors are the only interesting characters in the movie, although I'm still not sure what are Kang's motives.

It's not a terrible movie, and a two hours run time makes the chaos easier to digest, but at the end, pretty forgettable.

VERY well done effects. CONS: It didn't really feel like a movie, more like a reallllly long trailer for a movie.
Important side characters didn't get a explanation for backstory. Internal guideline to plot. (The character had time to argue with her family, but zero time to just say "A bad guy I trapped here is mad and trying to kill us.")

RANT: Dude, you built up the King character as conquerer of multiverses, destroyed timelines, then loses to a bunch of mech-ants?

IThis movie is an epic adventure on an monumental scale. Marvel has pulled this off spectacularly creating a whole new glorious world throwing in our favourite Marvel family into it adding a good measure of lovable and dangerous characters. I also liked that they continued on the father daughter relationship from the 1st movie and giving every father the valuable lesson that at a point we have to trust our daughters to find their own way. We are also introduced to the new villain and he is truly daunting with some amazing fight sequences with Ant man. Just don’t go expecting an Earth adventure when the movie title states Quantumania. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

The problem is that a kind of pervasive bias against Marvel movies has permeated the media. They expect much more than they do from other action movies. Maybe there’s a kind of jealousy towards them? I’m not certain but one thing I have noticed, which is not unique to Marvel reviews, is that professional reviews spend a lot of time criticizing the movies for what they are not rather than what they are. I know what to expect when I go to a Marvel movie. I’m not going for Shakespeare. It’s an action movie with a good dollop of silliness and humor. I’m aware of that and I don’t need to read reviews whining about it. Quantumania is a fun, silly action movie that made me enjoy myself. Go see it. It’s worth it. Expand

Quantum realm looks like junkyard... Film is boring. Acting was mostly good, but there was nothing to play... Bad script. Plot holes. Bad jokes. STUPID JOKES! Forgettable and useless... No conflict: we know all characters and all is too predictable. No emotions. I didn't care about characters. Ant-man is side-character. And also Ant-man lost what made him special: sense of scale! Cassie is annoying mix of Mary Sue and spoiled brat, meant to replace her father. Modok is a joke! Even Kang is meh... Why should we scare him? He shows nothing. Another filler movie, poor setup for next "episode". Terrible start of phase 5. Waste of time. Boring! It's time to leave MCU behind. Post "End Game" MCU is painful cringefest... This felt nothing like an Ant-Man movie. It honestly was just a Star Wars movie, with its world-building, character relationships, plot, and score. That for me was very exciting, but it won't be for everyone. Jonathan Majors as Kang was FANTASTIC! He gave me MAJOR Darth Vader/Kylo Ren vibes in the best ways. I can't wait to see more of him. The pacing is insane and the script isn't fantastic. The movie felt more like 5 episodes of a TV show than a 3 act movie. Also, the film was at its weakest when it was trying to be funny, although it had its comedic moments. Expand

Marvel at it's worst and judging by their latest run of Marvel movies that's saying something. It was so bad it was laughable and that wasn't the feeble attempts at comedy. The acting was wooden especially the unconvincing baddie. The story was the usual American teen flick style in a Marvel setting. It was a bad mix of Star wars Honey I shrunk the kids. A floating head that reminded me of Holly from Red Dwarf and Spaceballs.
We stayed for the end credits, stupidly, and saw the first one. We wish we didn't as it looks like it's setting up a franchise for Kang the Conqueror films. Help. We couldn't take another end credit scene and left.
Come on Marvel with all your money in the bank pay for some decent script writers, some actors with credibility and create a decent film. Or are we going to get a reboot of Horward the duck.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story started with Antman being famous and even releasing his own book VERY ORIGINAL! Then Cassie ( Antman's daughter ) in less then 10 minutes from the start of the movie transported the whole family into the quantum realm. Apparently Janet ( Hope's Mum ) had this very extreme past and in this realm making the whole story more and more complicated. The amount of people's information was very unnecessary for the story. Finally after two hours watching this in 4d was a whole waste of money, the only thing that had potential is Cassie a girl with some good energy and personality. This is really disappointing for the marvel movies after all of this. Expand

Quantumborania
I've come fresh from watching this, and thankfully I'll probably forget this film in the next 24 hours.
Some of the worst cringe inducing dialogue that just made me laugh. The exchange between Cassie and Modok towards the end was plain embarrassing.
Kang is Thanos lite, he possess none of the gravitas and menace of him, and to build a whole saga around this character is terrible. How he is defeated at the end of the film is truly ridiculous.
The CGI on Modok is eye rollingly awful, I literally laughed out loud when I saw this abomination on the screen.
The end credits just bad, really bad. The first one made me laugh once more time, I won't spoil it for everyone but how did they think this was going to generate more interest on the whole Multiverse saga ??.
Terrible CGI overload, and an uninspired script makes for a cinema trip which is the equivalent of sucked out of an airlock into a void of cold dark space.

Great Star Wars rip off.
It was the best Star Wars rip off since Space Balls. It took the MCU for Disney to give us a decent Star Wars movie. Kang is emperor Palpatine, MODOK is Darth Vader, Ant-Man is Han Solo, practically every character plays one or more stand-ins of Star Wars characters. They even rip off the cantina scene from New Hope.
If you enjoy this movie it's all because you have a good time laughing at all the scenes and aspects they rip off from the original Star Wars trilogy.
This isn't a good MCU movie, but it's a decent and fun Star Wars rip off.
1/10 as an MCU film. Would've been a 10/10 if Disney marketed this as an MCU spoof of Star Wars because I cracked up everytime this movie turned into a Star Wars rip off.

I almost spent $40 on Imax 3D tickets; however, I was able to dodge a big bullet and use my money elsewhere. I truly believe Disney and Marvel don't care anymore. Durning the first 10 years of Marvel I had some of the most exciting movie theater experiences. Now I'm always preparing myself to be disappointed by an empty story pushed by a political agenda. The last couple phases of Marvel have been extremely exhausting to watch and I'm embarrassed to say I even saw them in the theater. Positives: Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and Paul Rudd are good and familiar. They carry the film. Good chemistry between the family and traditional love.

Critiques: Many people will praise Jonathan Majors, but I thought he either talked too slowly or overacted when he was trying to be threatening or angry. He's another generic MCU villain, not a Thanos-level threat. His acting isn't threatening...just the fact that he can and has many copies of himself throughout the multiverse.

-M. O. D. O. K. Fans will not be getting what they want from this character. He's a clowned punching bag and looks really bad with the CGI.

-Cassie is annoying, mouthy, spoiled, and whinny. She also got typical Hollywood political values and is a girl boss. She looks and acts like a typical Gen-Z Disney actress. All the characters think and say "She's amazing" of course.

-There is an underlying theme of a socialist revolution where they mock cops, help the rebels, fight the empire, and "burn it all down." There is even a line about ants being highly developed socialists and that we humans could learn from them.

The humor was so stale that the theater was silent almost the entire time any form of joke was made (attempted) Plot was terrible and should've been used for another character that isn't AntMan. AntMans character isn't designed for anything heavily intertwined with plot, and he especially isn't someone to use when introducing MCU's new Villain. This movie seems like they just wanted to get AntMans movie out of the way because they had no idea what to do with him.

There's no issues with the casting, however, the new writing makes it seem like they're taking two toys from opposing companies and trying to make it work.

They also need to bring back Michael Peña - he stole both of the two movies .

The Wasp saved this product, while the old lady is in there the most and dictates this product. Makes me wonder, why it is considered an "Antman" product.
Deus-Ex-Ant-Machina. They just pull it out of thin air and it makes no sense.
Kang is insanely boring. All he can is building B-Level storm troopers. And shoot laser that vaporizes people.
The Stormtroopers did nothing. They lost against guys with swords.
The "Massage" of capitalism bad and socialism good is insulting. The makers clearly never seen what happened to the ideologies when millions of people were killed and had to suffer for "utopia".

Things can grow and shrink beyond your control so let loose and have a good time. It has its flaws though. A lot of plot shortcuts and blaise supporting characters. The 2 characters that stand out the most are Kang and MODOK. Steller performances from both of them. And I didn't mind the different CGI technique they chose. It was awesome and endearing. Anyways, I give this a low matinee but go out and watch it whenever you can

Edit: a lot of reviews say the stakes should have felt higher. It is high but just like an ant trying to understand the world around itself, you cannot fathom the destruction of multiple universes in just 2 hours. That's why they designed the movie so it seems silly and curt.

Very entertaining. Better than the last Thor by a mile. Really designed for people who have seen the previous two movies. Just the right amount of humour. Really preparing the grounds for the next big bad in the Marvel saga.

Its a mixed bag, this one. There is a lot of utter stupidity in this movie, and its often terribly dull. There is a lot of utter stupidity in this movie, and its often terribly dull. But as usual the story came from a toddler sucking its thick toe. There are thousands of SF books waiting to be used, why spend all this money if you haven't got a decent scenario? Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The 3rd Ant Man movie doesn't fail to impress to show the in-depth magnitude and scale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We are introduced to so many next exciting characters and creatures, not to mention our understanding of the quantum realm has been completely transformed in the process!
The returning cast knock it out of the park with their humor, emotional and heroic moments, but if this film has done one thing for me and EVERYONE watching it..........it's the realisation that Jonathan Majors Kang is the most terrifying new threat the MCU will have to face!!!
Kang is so scary and powerful, but this performance was made 100 times more impact full thanks to Majors acting and Reeds direction.

In short I have absolutely no idea why the critics slamed this movie, my large group of a dozen regular movie going friends (where some hate marvel and others love it) they all enjoyed Ant Man 3's movie experience and we all thought this movie started off not just the year but Phase 5 with a bang, or should I say a KANG!!!

I don't think I saw the same movie as a lot of the critics.
I thought Quantumania was great. It's an entertaining and fun self-contained story that also did some very good set-up for the rest of Phase 5.

It was just so poorly made. The first half had some good moments, but the CGI and dialogues were horrible. I was so disappointed by King and Cassie, they were so horrible! Everything was all over the place and it was confusing. However, thereIt was just so poorly made. The first half had some good moments, but the CGI and dialogues were horrible. I was so disappointed by King and Cassie, they were so horrible! Everything was all over the place and it was confusing. However, there were some memorable characters like Veb, and some scenes looked visually awesome (like barely 2-3 scenes). I mean the acting was so bad, although I really liked Janet, there were too many characters and too many plot holes. Overall, it was a huge sludge. Quite boring, less humorous and honestly, disappointing since I had high high hopes for this movie. The post credit scene (1) was amazing, even the last one was quite cool. If I had to sum it up, it's more like a poorly produced children's movie with a low budget. The only reason why I gave it a 6/10 is because of some cool characters like Veb, the post credits scene, the initial scenes in the beginning (exploration of the Quantum realm, and Hope/Janet. Without them, it would be a 1/10! Expand

One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It was a terrible mixture between Star Wars and avatar. Awful cgi, moddok was rediculus, no original plot.

I couldn’t what was going on until after half the movie had passed. Seriously, don’t waste

It is not even bland, it is just bad. I hope next MCU film is way better than this one.

How people are not giving this film a 75% or higher is beyond me, this was the best MCU film I’ve seen since Endgame. Hands down, plus you finally get to meet our new baddie.

Easily the worst marvel film yet. Shoddy CGI, terrible writing, some of the cringiest humor I’ve seen from Marvel, just all around bad.
