Janet is more fleshed out, shown as more flawed instead of being a mary sue,but not too flawed to the point of being an anti-hero. The plot is decent and not that bad. Ant-man's motivation for getting the core retains his one deciding trait for changing and turning his life around: his love for Cassie, which is a trait that is admirable in its own. Kang is not too shabby, being one of those evil cos why not sort of villains. I'm a little tired of sympathatic ones, tho i wouldn't mind it.
Cons- The film's story could have better and have more emotional impact if the pacing was a little slower. They also could have given more focus to Hank and Hope, especially Hank, because now he seems to be just comic relief, making him out of focus despite him being important to Ant man's life and franchise at the start.

Really enjoyed Scott, Cassie and Hank in this they have a lot of fun moments, not Hope and Janet tho all there stuff just seems forced and i didn't care for it, on top of that pretty much every thing Janet does makes things worst for everyone.

The movie was such a treat to watch in IMAX 3D because the movie is all about growing big and going small so the 3D was really a treat. There is some flaws but overall this movie was visually creative and fresh and put off Star Wars vibes with all the unique creatures and new races of beings. If you’re a marvel fan and are interested in the next phase then this movie is a must because it sets up the next phase of movies. The acting was great and some of the jokes don’t land completely but it doesn’t take away from the film. Overall a solid 7/10. Recommend seeing it in IMAX 3D! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is not as good as the two previous Ant-Man movies, mainly because it struggles to adapt the Quantum Realm, and ends up been like a Star Wars movie, and not a Marvel one. Also, Kang story is so confusing, if he was so dangerous, and his other variants locked him there, why Scott Lang was able to kill him? But there is still plenty of good things, like Paul Rudd and Michelle Pfeiffer’s performances, Kathryn Newton is incredible as Cassie Lang, her daughter-father relationship is one of the highlights of the film. Vissual Effects are great and even if it was strange sometimes, MODOK was terrific. In the post credit scene, why there are so many Kangs, is because Sylvie kill the variant controlling them, but why do they locked one of them in the Quantum Real? I still can’t figure that out, the Kang variant in Loki said that a multiversal war was coming if he died, but the variants still locked the “most dangerous one”. Not that there were mostly evil? Things that I hope Loki or other Marvel project will able to explain us Expand

It had a different feel than the other Antman movies. Closer to the first Guardians of the Galaxy with the way the quantum realm looked and there was nothing wrong with the CGI. It was also more like Thor: Ragnorok in the way it fits within the larger MCU. Am I a nerd and seen all their other movies and shows... yes, and this was the best one in awhile. Phase 4 was ok, and it's hard to top Endgame, but I like where they're going. Jonathan Major's Kang is amazing and probably the best villain yet in the MCU. Hope's Wasp wasn't in it very much, but Janet van Dyne was and it better than Hope anyway. Critic just looking to hate or still have a bad taste from Black Adam and the DC **** Both end-credit scenes were amazing. Expand

Things can grow and shrink beyond your control so let loose and have a good time. It has its flaws though. A lot of plot shortcuts and blaise supporting characters. The 2 characters that stand out the most are Kang and MODOK. Steller performances from both of them. And I didn't mind the different CGI technique they chose. It was awesome and endearing. Anyways, I give this a low matinee but go out and watch it whenever you can

Edit: a lot of reviews say the stakes should have felt higher. It is high but just like an ant trying to understand the world around itself, you cannot fathom the destruction of multiple universes in just 2 hours. That's why they designed the movie so it seems silly and curt.

In the meantime I found QMania better than I expected. To me John Majors does NOT seem like hes in a different Shakespeare movie. He does seem like the most believable person where everyone else is in Your Average Super Hero Effort. I believe QMania has the same problem many creative but low-grossing sci-fi fantasy films have. Audience sophistication is over-estimated. It plays like it was made for an audience of CGI professionals, NOT a mass audience. "...writer Jeff Loveness, is making up the rules as it goes along, which is why “Quantumania” whisks you through its visually zapping action without generating any real investment in it" ~ Owen Gleiberman in Variety

Compare with Way of Water. Avatar 2's heroic and cerebral gags never overshadow its characters and audiences can ride on the solid emotional thru line even if it's predictable. By contrast, Quantumania appears to be for audiences whose idea of fun is Siggraph conference presentations.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

It's definitely a marvel film worth seeing, although it is lacking in some aspects (namely, character development and the story's logical progression). However, it makes up for these things with some of the strangest but most enjoyable CGI in the MCU as of yet, fun and quirky characters, and the ever-so-threatening Kang. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The 3rd Ant Man movie doesn't fail to impress to show the in-depth magnitude and scale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We are introduced to so many next exciting characters and creatures, not to mention our understanding of the quantum realm has been completely transformed in the process!
The returning cast knock it out of the park with their humor, emotional and heroic moments, but if this film has done one thing for me and EVERYONE watching it..........it's the realisation that Jonathan Majors Kang is the most terrifying new threat the MCU will have to face!!!
Kang is so scary and powerful, but this performance was made 100 times more impact full thanks to Majors acting and Reeds direction.

In short I have absolutely no idea why the critics slamed this movie, my large group of a dozen regular movie going friends (where some hate marvel and others love it) they all enjoyed Ant Man 3's movie experience and we all thought this movie started off not just the year but Phase 5 with a bang, or should I say a KANG!!!

IThis movie is an epic adventure on an monumental scale. Marvel has pulled this off spectacularly creating a whole new glorious world throwing in our favourite Marvel family into it adding a good measure of lovable and dangerous characters. I also liked that they continued on the father daughter relationship from the 1st movie and giving every father the valuable lesson that at a point we have to trust our daughters to find their own way. We are also introduced to the new villain and he is truly daunting with some amazing fight sequences with Ant man. Just don’t go expecting an Earth adventure when the movie title states Quantumania. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie gets a suprising amount of hate, which I dont fully understand I thought the movie was very entertaining. It doesn't always take itself seriously but ant man movies never did that and I think that a part of their charm. The last marvel movie Thor 4 was also criticised that it focused to much on comedy and didn't take the time to be serious, Ant Man 3 had a lot of things that were even weirder and more ridiculous than in Thor but they managed to make something so silly feel quite serious and not just a total joke. At the end of the film at somepoint when they were fighting kangs army they get support from a giant army made of highly advanced futuristic ants, at the start when everyone got sucked into the quantum realm hanks ants in the room got somewhere lost in time and build a civilation much more advanced than our own for thousands of years. It felt fitting for ant man to fight kang with an army of giant ants kind of like in the first movie but this time the ants could actually do something and honestly the scene where the ants stormed kangs palace was just awesome. This movie has so many absolutely crazy and ridiculous ideas but I think they pulled it off perfectly, especially with these crazy ideas the cgi is critiqued as rushed or just generaly bad when I watched the movie I didn't notice any of that critic maybe the cgi is flawed but not that much that you will actually notice watching the movie in cinema. Kang was of course the main villain of the movie and they really showed just how absurdly powerful kang is, I don't think that scott should have defeated him the way he did I don't want scott to die but it would have been better if scott sacrificed himself to defeat kang. I think the movie is incredible there are a few flaws but you will enjoy the movie. Expand

Welcome back, Streamers, to this quantum realm version of Stream To Big Screen! This weekend Marvel released its third film on the little hero with a big heart, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. And, child, there is some mania going on here.Welcome back, Streamers, to this quantum realm version of Stream To Big Screen! This weekend Marvel released its third film on the little hero with a big heart, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. And, child, there is some mania going on here. If you've missed the previous two Ant-Man movies, this edition follows up with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd/Ant-Man) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly, The Wasp), along with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), as they are forced to explore the Quantum Realm again. This time they find it's not as barren as previously thought, and they end up interacting with strange creatures and embarking on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they previously thought was possible. Oh yeah, they run into Kang the Conqueror as well. Let's see how it goes.

Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, this is an MCU movie and it obviously should be viewed on a big screen. How much should we pay for that is the question? Here, we're on the back of two successful movies, even if not primary characters of the MCU. The most successful parts of the movie are the CGI, created characters and general realm. The small package delivers big time with those features. Honestly, if you go to Avatar just for the visuals, Quantamania definitely can can follow suit. We've seen space creatures previously in the MCU but they took it up in imagination for this one.

Next to that, you know from the Ant-man genre, they are going to bring the laughs. Here there are definitely a few good laughs, but unfortunately, some moments meant to be laughs just felt corny. Even worse was the fact that they kept harping on one particular joke until the end and it never really worked from the beginning. To this point, I felt the movie lost a bit of its heart or character. It felt more like another MCU-movie instead of an Ant-Man movie. We miss you Michael Pena and TI! Anyway, that issue might also have been due to wrong edits selected or what I felt was a rushed storyline. The movie overall didn't feel rushed but something about the pacing just made it feel thrown together. Was I unprepared or were they? Who knows, but I kept feeling it. Nevertheless, the cast as a whole were very good, even the annoying daughter who unfortunately we're likely to see more of based on the thought of a Young Avengers movie coming to us in the years to come.

Long story short, Ant-Man and the The Wasp: Quantamania is a solid and visually stunning movie with a rushed set up that makes the plot a bit average. Viewers will be fully entertained either by action or by the corny comedy but won't be truly wowed by the film compared to other movies in the universe. The MCU is falling victim to the Netflix virus, too much content too soon. The movie is enjoyable, but it felt like it was missing some of the previous movies' heart. Obviously, see this on the big screen at any price, but you'll be glad you saved a few bucks with the matinee.

I've always want to like Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania more than Ant-Man And The Wasp, and definitely not wanted to like it less than the first Ant-Man, and it all came down in the middle, even though in a lot of ways i do like Ant-Man And The Wasp better and sometimes this one better, but all the way through i enjoyed the movie and i can even safely say now after thinking about everything that's going down, Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania is a good if not a great MCU movie in a long time for me, now, did i get the hate?, not really because i do get some of the cheesyness of it, some of the CGI for me if not all of them for everybody, and even though that was my real two problems of the film, besides that, i think the film are mostly great, in terms of the story, characters, and acting for the most part, it's a fun straight forward intense journey that takes place in this weird CGI fest world, and i enjoyed it, Jonathan Majors was great as Kang, Paul Rudd and the rest of his family was good, even Bill Murray have a very pleasant little appearance and performance in the film, but the one that absolutely deserve to be credited is Corey Stoll as MODOK, sure his CGI face wasn't that good and sometimes a bit too much but his performance is amazing and it's pretty caught me off guard, it's nice to see a good MCU movie again after two miss in a row for me (Thor: Love And Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), and overall Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania is a pretty great opening to the new Phase of the MCU.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Paul Rudd and Johnathan Majors, unfortunately, can not save this film from being a star wars junk fest trying to savor a satisfactory intro to Phase 5. Michelle Phifer is a scene stealer, but Micheal Douglas feels old and tired trying to fit into a bubbly world. Evangeline Lily is boring and feels very stand-in for priceless action. Johnathan Majors is an interesting Villian and I'm excited to watch his progression as a show stopper he steals every line every dialogue every chunk of the film and the story shapes around his safe goat. Kathryn Newton is kind of the blandest and most mundane part she soils her part by running and blanky yelling "Dad!" with deadpan emotions. Corey Stoll returns as his character Darren and plays the goofy CGI MODOK who doesn't do much but lives to die not being "a dick" kind of lame. The film ends with a Creed showcase as he beats the absolute **** out of Paul Rudd. The Ending of this film plays as sitcom as before but the wonderment of victory fills in the air which leads us to believe it isn't over. the mid-credit sequence features three weirds looking Kang's talking about the conqueror they banished and the branched timelines they summon the council of Kang's, and the ending credits is a loki season 2 teaser with another Kang Varient called VICTOR TIMELY! my review is something positive this film is a 6.7/10 it's a mesh between Star Wars and Marvel although it isn't a perfectly good story it's a fun roller coaster that sets up the grander scheme of this crazy cinematic universe Expand

This movie is obviously being review-bombed by people who hate on Marvel and likely haven't even seen the film. This is far from a flop and absolutely undeserving of a "0" rating.

Quantumania is a sci-fi thrill ride field with beautiful alien vistas and plenty of interesting character design. So many aliens! This has visuals more on line with a GotG film than an Ant-man film. It was fun, goofy and full of action. Jonathan Majors kills it as Kang, and I can't wait to see how he shows up in the next series of Marvel features (gotta be Loki S2 next, right?). Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas and Kathryn Newton reprise their roles as Ant-people with the usual riffs and gags we've come to appreciate from this franchise. It's based on a comic book science fiction fantasy story and delivers in fantastic style. My main complaint is that it feels a bit "toothless" similar to Civil War, but definitely sets up phase 5 to be a wild ride! I saw it in 3D with DBOX seats.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Marvel Studios' Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania (released 17th February 2023), was an excellent addition to the Canon Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the first film of phase 5 of the MCU, and a fine way to kick off the phase. The main cast - Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton - were brilliantly chosen, all fulfilling their roles perfectly. Jonathan Majors - playing the role of Kang the conquerer - was first seen in Loki and has been one of the most anticipated villains in the MCU. The film itself begins with Scott Lang walking around a world where he is famous, as a member of the Avengers. He soon ends up stuck in the quantum realm, by the tyrant known as Kang. The film itself contains many fun Easter eggs and references. There are two post credit scenes, both equally interesting and important to the future of the MCU. The film also features the return of Darren Cross (Corey Still) as MODOK. In the first film Darren took the role of Yellow jacket, and he returns for revenge in this film. One thing I did not like about the film was that it may be harder for people who do not pay full attention to the MCU to understand, however for serious Marvel fans such as myself, I would absolutely recommend this film. Overall, I give it an 8 out of 10. Expand

The problem is that a kind of pervasive bias against Marvel movies has permeated the media. They expect much more than they do from other action movies. Maybe there’s a kind of jealousy towards them? I’m not certain but one thing I have noticed, which is not unique to Marvel reviews, is that professional reviews spend a lot of time criticizing the movies for what they are not rather than what they are. I know what to expect when I go to a Marvel movie. I’m not going for Shakespeare. It’s an action movie with a good dollop of silliness and humor. I’m aware of that and I don’t need to read reviews whining about it. Quantumania is a fun, silly action movie that made me enjoy myself. Go see it. It’s worth it. Expand

It's not as good as Thor: Ragnarok as a stand-alone film, but they're both the high water mark of their respective series. This was entertaining, funny, thrilling, and engaging - the story was interesting, the themes were pertinent and reasonably well flushed out for a popcorn blockbuster, and I genuinely like Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and the ensemble cast. I don't understand the negative reviews and hatred.
