A great translation with some nice bells and whistles, but the inconsistent AI and lack of Xbox Live really hamper this title.
-
For the first Yu-Gi-Oh! videogame for the XBOX, Yu-Gi-Oh! Dawn Of Destiny is a good attempt on Konamis part. But hope and pray, that the next Yu-Gi-Oh! videogame made for the XBOX really lives up to the excellence that most XBOX videogames deliver.
-
You cannot add cards to your deck without winning them in a long series of duels, so it wouldn't even be useful for trying to run tournaments, other than having people bring their decks on a memory card.
-
Official Xbox MagazineThe entire point of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise is to incite adolescent jealousy, gamesmanship and spending, and while fans of the series might find something to appreciate in this title, casual gamers will not. Skip it. [June 2004, p.80]
-
Aside from being the first version to hit the Xbox, there isn't a whole lot to differentiate The Dawn of Destiny from its predecessors. It's really just a mediocre card battling game.
-
If you can make head or tail of the multitude of minor rules and spell/trap combinations, or already enjoy the cartoon, check this out. Anyone over 12, dig out that old algebra textbook for some more interesting bafflement.
-
If there had been Xbox Live support it would have at least given you some live players to compete against, but still would be a boring card-dueling game with too many confusing rules and a bland presentation.
