  1. While it's not an entirely brilliant game, the multiplayer feature and the sharper graphics make this the essential version to own.

Add visibly better AI, crazy new multiplayer modes, new moves, the freedom to rip your own sounds, and a 20-dollar price tag, and you've got, guns down, the single best value available for the Xbox. [May 2003, p.61]
  3. While State of Emergency's arcadelike objectives and somewhat simplistic fighting system can make it feel a little shallow, the game's technical strengths, satisfying displays of comically overblown violence, and budget price make it worth a look.

A remarkable game that captures fast-paced, mindless action in a colorful package, and it's fun. The multiplayer missions are the high point of this game, and the premise and controls are simple enough accommodate the novice player.

I have great memories about this game and the hours I invested in it and I would play it again to remember the past

This game is OK for the first couple of hours... after that, it really sucks. You have to do almost same thing, again, agian and again...

In a word...boring. In two words... relentlessly boring. Complete one mission in this game and you've completed them all...because In a word...boring. In two words... relentlessly boring. Complete one mission in this game and you've completed them all...because basically it doesn't change much! Ignoring the increadibly glitchy nature of gameplay (people walking through walls, game freezes) the graphics and gameplay don't really offer much. Too it's credit, the game does animate alot of characters on screen at anyone time, and the custom soundtrack feature is always a winner, but the game never really developes much beyond that. A disapointing perchase, but a good rental to have a crack at with a few mates on the multi-player, but other wise don't bother. Full Review »
