Play MagazineI love every single part of this game. [Dec 2002, p.83]
-
An amazing experience from the very start.
-
Official Xbox MagazineThe fastest, smoothest, best sounding, best playing version of an already great game. [Dec 2002, p.88]
-
Frontline isn't quite as action intensive as "TimeSplitters 2," but it's head and shoulders above "Turok Evolution."
-
Game InformerI really wish EA would've gone for the M rating and added blood and gore, but the hell that is war is still accurately portrayed. [Dec 2002, p.142]
-
The game's graphics, audio, and overall presentation are almost flawless in every aspect.
-
The sound design is simply amazing! If youve got a decent sound system, Frontline will rattle your bones and quicken your pulse.
-
The production values for Frontline are way up there though, and with great voice acting, cool FMV cut scenes, and more atmosphere than most other FPS titles, the game is a winner for WWII action fans and newbies alike.
-
If youre open-minded enough to kill low-poly Axis troops and dont mind being led by the nose, then dont let a clutch of angry graphics whores dissuade you: this is top fun.
-
The one snag is the character graphics, which are nicely detailed but look slightly indistinct (particularly for the enemy combatants) and are not quite up to the caliber of the rest of the visuals.
-
Even with all its faults, Medal of Honor: Frontline is successful at what it attempts to do: recreate a time and tell a good story along the way.
-
netjakFrontline has slight edge over its PC counterpart in level design and cinematic style, though the graphics are not as sharp and the enemy AI is a lot dumber.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlySure, these chaotic stages look amazing, but annoying mission objectives erode a big chunk of the fun. [Dec 2002, p.252]
-
Xbox Nation MagazineLevels look dazzling, but the actual tasks you must accomplish in them are often so contrived that all the realism fades away. [Winter 2002, p.101]
-
The more we played, the more we felt like we were being pushed down an inch wide pipe till we got to the end it wasnt a nice feeling and it spoilt the feel of the game.
-
Looking visually identical to the PS2 version is forgivable (just about), but loading in-between the level sections isnt especially when you continue from exactly the same point as you stop... [yet it's still] an exceptionally good game.
-
Does Medal of Honor Frontline have its moments? Absolutely! Is it a game that will keep you coming back for more, with innovative gameplay and multiplayer modes? Nope.
-
A dull, linear first-person shooter with international conflict as its backdrop, that tries to put players into the boots of a WW2 soldier embroiled in the thick of the things, but fails miserably. [XGamer]
