One of the most incredible experiences I have ever had with a game. [July 2002, p.98]
  2. 100
With the incredible soundtrack and the emotions that the game invokes, Frontline is one of the best games of the year.
  3. The attention to detail is mind-boggling. I don't know how they did it, but EA has created a game with enemies that can practically think for themselves. The soldiers will swarm around you in a deadly strategic pattern. Their intelligence is amazing.

It's something that is planned in development to the last incoming grenade and Frontline is pretty much perfect in terms of dragging you into the action and delivering nail-biting, hair-pulling gameplay.
  5. Making a realistic FPS based on WWII is highly tasteless and somewhat degrading to soldiers who fought during the war.

The linear missions and non-interactive environments don't hold their own when compared to feature-rich PS2 shooters like "Red Faction" or "Deus Ex." But none of that matters, because in this game, presentation is everything. [July 2002, p.116]
  7. Huge levels are constrained by pre-determined paths, action sequences are harshly pre-determined and any sense that you might have be able to affect the outcome is sapped by the largely obvious mission objectives.

I have been playing ps2 games since I was a kid, and Medal of Honor Frontline is truly the best. And not only is it the best ps2 game, butI have been playing ps2 games since I was a kid, and Medal of Honor Frontline is truly the best. And not only is it the best ps2 game, but also possibly the best shooter I have ever played. The games overall design is splendid. Plus the variety of weapons, diverse levels and great graphics (especially for a game that came out in 2002!!) And last but not least, the soundtrack!! Which is really more like a great movie score due to its epic nature! The soundtrack is probably what makes the game so memorable. It makes you want to go back in time to WW2 and kick some Nazi butt. Simply put, Frontline is the most enjoyable shooter experience I have ever had. And I still enjoy it to this day Expand

The plot is okay, but the graphics are great, and the sound is fascinating. You can get through most of it when you rent it. The first couple of levels are really easy, but then it gets hard. In the beginning you do not have many weapons but as the game moves on you get to use more. For a while there I had lost my faith in "War" games- the games with the little toy soldiers. But this game beats them all. The only thing missing is multiplayer- and if you could play the game with a cooperative option that would be even better. Expand

Remember how great the first Medal of Honor game on the original PS was? Well, Medal of Honor Frontline is equally good on the PS2.

The graphics are simple but nice, the sound is great and most important the gameplay is really good. This has to be one of the best shooters on the PS2.

The only thing missing here is a (split-screen) multi-player mode. Also the aiming is sometimes a bit off. But overall this game is a classic.

A remastered version of Medal of Honor Frontline was included in the PlayStation 3 version of Medal of Honor (2010) with trophies support and HD Graphics. And since 2011 it can be downloaded at the PSN store.

I rate this game 9 out of 10. (I would give it a perfect 10 if it had multi-player)
