Story mode? I think I blinked and missed the plot! Control was very basic, the AI was non-challenging. I rented it for a buck and feel like I should get change back.

When I first played this game I shrugged it off as an unfinished product like lots of other people. Then I went into the moves list and discovered that there are a hell of a lot of moves for every character, although the chojin moves are sayed to be secret so you have to figure them out for yourself. You can get through this game with each character pretty fast, but to master the games When I first played this game I shrugged it off as an unfinished product like lots of other people. You can get through this game with each character pretty fast, but to master the games moves would take forever. Just take a look at the moves set and you will know what I'm talking about. The character graphics are good, as are the lighting and shadowing effects, but the arenas are as empty and dead as the first Battle Arena Toshinden. The music is good heavy metal in some areas, boring in others. And what's with no blood? All you see when you hit your opponent is a red cloud like the crap in Tekken. This is supposed to be undergroung fighting, right? If only the arenas had breakable objects like the ones in Tao Feng it would have been better. If you're looking for the best fighting game on the Box, stick with DOA 3 or Tao Feng. If you just want something different this might do. Also this game was recalled because of religious references in the game so good luck finding it! Expand

Considering how ambitious Microsoft game studios is, I am surprised at how bland this game is. This is the second over-hyped title that falls short in quality (the first game being Blinx). Skip this game and buy Tao Feng instead.

Kakuto Chojin is the best outstanding figher game so far, The graphics are well designed and fighting moves are realistic. I also love the dual fighting styles and capture the crown. Truly an awesome game. Looking forward to Kakuto Chojin 2 :)

Kakuto Chojin is a visual treat (HDTV), plus a lot of fun can be unleashed with the 4 Player Mode. You can have 4 people play Capture The Crown which is a nice feature. Cool characters, better than the lame MKDA. This game came out at a time when Tekken and soul calibur were duking it out with DOA. unfortunately, like me and many others, we failed to give the game a fair shake, because we were already bogged down, competing in other games. now that the luster of those games have worn off, I bought Kakuto chojin online, hoping for something new. and the game PLAYS GREAT. of course, theres the This game came out at a time when Tekken and soul calibur were duking it out with DOA. unfortunately, like me and many others, we failed to give the game a fair shake, because we were already bogged down, competing in other games. now that the luster of those games have worn off, I bought Kakuto chojin online, hoping for something new. and the game PLAYS GREAT. of course, theres the whole... no story in story mode, no endearment of the charachters, but this game is very well on par with Tekken. sure you can Button mash, but this game teaches you that defense is priority. if you play fight night, you will love this game. if you play Tekken, you will like this game. if you live By virtua fighter, you will like this game, for the fact that Detail was paramount, and Hit detection was excellent. nothing was cheap about the game. just the controllers. a 10 is extreme, but the game is fun when you play with your friends, especially those of the same level. but again, no character development. but if you played MK Armageddon, and want something that fixes the stiffness, and gives you quality competition, this game is GREAT. Part 2 would fix these issues. as you play the game, you will see that the overall feel DREAM FACTORY put in the game was Ruthless. for 2002, and it is now 2007, the gameplay holds up surprisingly well. it may even aanger you that Microsoft didnt stop the game before its release and say "put a story in this thing". the game was like Box Defining for microsoft. hopefully they will consider making a sequel that competes with tekken, since PS3 has Tekken on lock down. if you are Curious, BUY THIS GAME. sure it is out of print, but get it, just so you can effectively shake your fist at Microsoft, and make them finish this game. Hey this game LOOKS awesome, It blows pretty much every 3D fighter out of the water graphically. But honestly, Karate Champ was deeper than this.

    KC's four-player mode...is essentially the equivalent of a Yugo with a top-of-the-line 100-disc CD changer and 5.1 surround sound speaker setup. That is, it's useless. [Feb/Mar 2003, p.80]

A stab at innovation would usually constitute an excuse for an otherwise diabolical title, but in Kakuto Chojin there are no puncture wounds, just lots of internal bleeding. [March 2003, p.104]
  3. This is not a bad game...it is merely uninspired.
