  1. Can't measure up graphically to the competition, and though this is a solid baseball title, it can be a little arcade-like and easy.

Good, but not good enough. [Apr 2003, p.93]

Unlike other companies that concentrate on visuals, High Heat puts its energies on the fundamentals that make a great baseball game. [Apr 2003, p.71]

A slight improvement from last year's game but a few new tweaks do not a new game make.
  5. In all fairness, this game simply doesn’t measure up to the competition or even the expected level of improvement you should get with a new installment within an established series.

I don't really understand all the love this game gets. The animation and graphics are way below par. The gameplay is functional, but I don't really understand all the love this game gets. The animation and graphics are way below par. The gameplay is functional, but nothing special. I don't like the pitching system at all. It doesn't give you enough freedom. But the batting does seem right. Trying to read pitches is made challenging and fun. I played High Heat after MVP 05, and MLB 2k5, and both those games are way better. Full Review »

Pretty fun game. only problem i find is that its too easy to run up the score, even off of rookie. also, i don't have the book for the game.
