    Wow! Good Multiplayer maps that include intrest and the 1 player is da bomb! This game is the only one I have ever been able to say it's worth every sent of the 50 bucks you pay!

    After all the hype, its not possible to explain just how disappointing this was. Another shooter with some great moments, but plenty of crappy momements too to weight it down.

    After trading and missing this masterpiece game I just bought it again. It's much better than Halo 2. Halo is the best videogame on any console ever.

    It's okay... not a great variety of enemies and i can't stand this little warp thing. pretty intense though and story line is pretty good but i just felt like i was running around blowing stuff up.

    The game is fun at first but after a while it just gets repetative. I would rather play a game that keeps my intrest longer. I agree with how the controls are wonderful, the graphics are great, and I don't even mind shooting the same enemy that is a different color. It just gets, boring. Still a good game to buy but don't set your hopes too high.

    One of the most well designed game ever. Beat the game on Normal through Legendary difficulty. Extremely well balanced. The weapon system is the most well designed, balanced and realistic ever. Pistol rules =]

    Amazing graphics, beyond anything I have ever played, the only other game thet comes colse to this unbeliviable game is halo 2. bungie done an amazing job.

    Halo... Let's see? The first time through it's good only because you want to know how the story is going to turn out. Then you play it again because it's been awhile but it's too easy now that you know what to do. Switch to legendary gives you a challenge but you still beat it only to see a marine hug an elite (let down) You trade it in cause you don't see Halo... Let's see? Legendary is too easy, story line goes faster when you press X, done with it again. Time to try multiplayer... that goes over horribly cause you now relise how stupid the computer AI is. You get good at it have a few runing riots yet as you get killed by a "camper" with a pistol shot from all the way accross the screen the game get's annoying and you find it more fun to commit suicide so your team loses and you can go home faster. Suddenly Halo 2 is announced and you get some what excited to play that so you play Halo once again on legendary yet find it an utter bore and wonder why you are wasting your time once again on this game. Trailers for halo 2 make there way to the masses the insight hits aswell. Sure the cutscenes look wonderfull but the in game graphics not that much of a difference. Some new weapons, vehicles get damaged etc. You can't help to think how much this is going to be more of the same. Nov 9th 2004 hundreds of crazy losers line your store at midnight to have wet dreams about a guy in a green suit. 5 days later your employee have beaten the game just in time to tell you it's not worth your time. The story line in non-existent like *caugh* "Fable" and was more a tool to push halo 3 on the next xbox. So in conclusion no this is not a great game. To agree with other reviews: Aliens comparison the pillar of automn is the ship in Aliens, the master chief's armor is the marines outfits, guns too., Library=BORING, multiplayer never played half life but recall a game called QUAKE "lan party"!!!… Expand

It has its great moments,but it has its moments where i got very bored also. Lets go with the good things. Fast gameplay, decent graphics, and you know the rest. If you say the levels are repetitive you're a moron, think about it, when you go into a building every time you enter a new room does it look any different then the last one? its called a structure, the rooms are supposed to look the same you idiots.     People keep on talking about how this is the best game ever. The only good part is the multiplayer and the only good level in multiplayer is blood gulch. I was bored after one day.

    I seriously, SERIOUSLY think this game is the most overhyped game in the history of videogames. What the hell? I mean its good, but its not super duper orgasm good. Single player is just mediocre, ive played FPS similar such as Red Faction. Trust me this game is not that spectacular. Sure its fun, but it seriously is over hyped.

    Now id give it a nine because there is one level i hate it's long and it gets repetetive (library) but i cant because that is the only thing i didnt like about it o yeah and the other thing was when i beat it i thought id get to see his face but i didn't.     This game is probably the 1 of the best first-person shooters ever. It is by far my favorite game. I love killing the covenent army. #1 reason is the noises they make when they die. #2 the cool alien blue and purple blood. and #3 the sweet multi-player mode which allows you to create game types.

    The best shooter ever! Halo is one of the best games ever created! Great graphics. The ultimate game for Xbox. Unbelievably fun for anyone 12 and higher(I'm twelve). Good assembly of weapons. This game kicks any other shooter game's ass. I can't wait to get Halo 2. My favorite game for Xbox. The best.

    Halo is awesome...It is still a good game...that guy that said the Health is too low in multiplayer...WHAT???? you can set your armor and health...its like the most armor in any game...and sniping isnt cheap you can dodge easily...and you cant sit in a corner and use the shotgun they can throw grenades there...u must have played for like 10mins...

    Hey Fink, first off any FPS has those problems. I can think of several games like Unreal where you just hog the power ups and stay in an area where you can kill the most amount of people. That is the point of multiplayer. Fink, I could kill you in two hits with a plasma pistol. If you grand a shotgun expect to kill someone in one hit...if you get close enough. I mean the Founder guy is right. I can't think of another game save for the old GoldenEye 64, and GTA 3 where you can get tanks, but you can't cantrol them as finely as Halo. In fact I cannot think of any game with more of a selection of vehicles for multiplayer games.... Everything about this game seems acurate to me. Yes, some of the levels where long, yeah there where a lot of enemies! To Hate Founder.Try playing on Legendary. The Founder spoke brashly. I've seen it in a lot of Halo Fanatic's. Halo does involve tactic on this level: you have to think where you'll shoot, and how you'll get from point a to b, with out being torn apart by the three Jackels, and two Elites to the left, and the Hunter to the right. True you don't have team tactics, but the whole plot of the game is the fact that you are the Master Chief, a one cyborg army by himself... I guess I love this game. I have had every system since Atari. I cannot think of a more enjoyable FPS save Golden Eye and Perfect Dark, which will always be in my heart. If you folks want a reliable and accurate FPS then Halo is your game. If you are looking for realistic movement (most FPS move past human speeds), realistic carrying (youcan carry only two weapons at a time in Holo, which is more realistic since you couldn't carry 9 guns one oneself like other FPS), bad ass vehicles, cool enemies, then Halo is for you...… Expand

The levels remind me of Doom with better graphics. In some buildings, you find room upon room of beds, machinery, emptiness, etc. that you have no idea what they do. They all look the same. After you've played through about half of it you get bored of how this is green or that kind of building is always purple of that creature is always yellow and it just doesn't have the appeal anymore. But the biggest problem of the game would have to be in it's multiplayer. It's one of the cheapest I've ever played in this aspect. You could just hide in one room and pick off people as they come in with a shotgun. Also, sniping is totally unfair, as it is really powerful, health is really too low, and what's up with the melee attack?(hitting people) I charged up my plasma pistol and shot someone in the head with it but hardly made a dent, then they hit me with the SAME weapon and killed me in 1 or 2 hits! The vehicles especially are too cheap, namely, the tank. The huge arenas are also unnecessary as there are usually only 2 to 4 people playing. (unless online). Also, if you think about it, Halo isn't really that new. We've all seen the plasma this, and the laser that, and the ones in Halo aren't exactly totally different. The grenades are all glitched. It's too easy to throw a grenade from like a hundred feet away and kill someone immedietaly. This is not a game that could be improved that much more, so I'm not expecting Halo 2 to be the "Best Game Of The Year" … Expand

    GoldenEye for the N64 set the standard for a console FPS and it is finally dethroned after all these years by the mighty Halo. I have played and beaten Halo on every difficulty setting and with all four game saves of each difficulty on my hard drive unlocks a really really cool options menu to include an even harder difficulty "Valiant." I'll just say that the A.I. is insanely GoldenEye for the N64 set the standard for a console FPS and it is finally dethroned after all these years by the mighty Halo. I have played and beaten Halo on every difficulty setting and with all four game saves of each difficulty on my hard drive unlocks a really really cool options menu to include an even harder difficulty "Valiant." I'll just say that the A.I. is insanely difficult and I'm not sure if it's even worth playing through, but I'm going to try just to see if anything else is hidden in this game.     The best game in the history of the world. Can't wait for Halo 2 to come out.........yea bill gates ur the man....this game is absolutely flawless.... the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is amazing and the total 2-player mode is amazing... a very fun game.

    I have a tip. When you are on the library after 343 guilty spark, if you see the sentinals looking at the dead flood, shoot and it will look at you. Quickly jump on it and it will lift you up high in the air and give you a ride!! Dont do this when they go down to the bottom of the elevator though!!

    Great Game. Just saw E3 gameplay trailer for Halo2 (Bungie.net) and its going to be better. I can see someone giving this game a 7 or 8 if there blind, or deaf, or not into first person shooter. Anyone else played it on easy and never got past lvl 3. Kill Every Cove' B**tard!

    Don't get me wrong I like Halo, but I just didn't find it to be that amazingly great. i liked half-life a lot better. i would give half-life a nine and lliked it a little better than halo so i give halo an 8. just not enough weapons and i also thought some of the levels got boring.

    Everyone who said this game is repetitive didnt name a game that wasnt. maybe if u had a sense of direction u wouldnt find urself in the same looking type of room. now play this game and go whack so hunters w/ ur rocket launch and have some fun, beating ur friends in this game. hiding in ur secret spot. this game may not be soo great but guess whut it is the best out there.

    This game is so overrated. It's just not funny. Linear levels are made even worse when they drag on and on for ages. Some levels just feel like the same room copy and pasted next to each other a thousand times over. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge FPS fan but this game just isn't as good as everyone says it is.     What are you guys smoking?!?!?! Halo is one of the best games in the history of the world. The single player is amazing, but it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. I don't know how many countless hours I have spent playing 2v2, 4v4 or 8v8 halo with system link. It is pure heaven. Someone name a better multiplayer console game. Go ahead and try, its impossible.

The second I started fighting off the baddies, I knew something was missing, The most overrated game ever.     I have one thing to say to anybody who gave this game anyless than a 10 eat the poo, I mean really that rating just tells me that you lack the skill that it takes to master a game like that. I want to see you take on the flood and the covenant on legendary mode and tell me its easy i guarantee that you cannot beat any one level in less than an hour.     Ok this game is in no way as good as everyone says it is. I thought it looked great at the start but five minutes into the first level I found myself traversing dozens of rooms that looked the same and apparently had no real function. The second level picked things up a bit and while one or two later missions were exciting and fun at the start they all degenerating into either boring Ok this game is in no way as good as everyone says it is. All the rest were boring and poorly made. Through virtually every level I found myself running into fifty of the same room time and time again. Then guess what, once you meet the Flood (a lame copy of Half-life's aliens) you go back and do all the same boring missions backwards, only difference is that now you must fight the flood. The most annoying level called the Library consisted of your character 'Master Chief' running around in circles through numerous floors that all looked exactly the same. Multiplayer is nothing special, Battlefield 1942 blows it away in vehicles, environment, and fun. Everyone claims other games copied this, what about what Halo copied? Name a scene in the movie Aliens and Halo has copied it, from the nervous marine "we're all gonna die man!" to the tough black 'Sarge' "Pull yourself together." Not to mention how the pelican bears a striking resemblance to the transport in Aliens. The guns are all copied from Aliens, and what the movie had in deadly and mysterious enemies Halo miserably lacks. Throughout the whole game there are only about five total enemies each with of course one way to kill them or else you'd be wasting ammo. There are miserably weak grunts which are minute aliens who do nothing then an enormous leap is made to the elites which simply slaughter all your squadmates (they never last more then the first battle) and the shield toting aliens who are just plain annoying with their weak guns and stupid shields. This game was lame and nowhere near expectations.… Expand

    This game has the best multiplayer and Campaign mode ever! Half life blows, and the people who dislike it, can't fathom this game, or have the skill to play it! People can acoused that the missions are repetative, but they don't look deeper. When you enter a house in saburbia you will find one thing: they are repetative. They "stupid AI" will tear you a new assh.le! Then latter in the game the Flood come into play! And as for Multiplayer, bots ruin FPS's! They are repetative drones, that take away the fun, and make the game droll. Halo, forces you to find other people, and "interact" with them. I know that the gamming comunity has problems with that sometimes too. You will never have more fun in you're life until you play a 16 person team Slayer game, with Rockets! As for the story line, it's bad ass! The implications of the Covenant, and the creation of Halo is amazing! The Flood don't look like anything I've ever seen before. Half-Lifes parasites are different, and for all you people out there: if Halo isn't original with the Floods design, the neither is Half-Life, or Doom, or any other FPS. You can attribute the designs to Aliens, and Aliens to Gigers works. What you need to look at is this: they are called the Flood, and they earn that name by overwhelming you and riping you to shreds! There is not another game that can offer gameplay that makes you feel like you're in combat! What other game has a fucking tank, or a warthog that you and you're friends can ride? Half-Life? NO! Where else can you fight enemies that will tear you to shreds, and use TACTICS! Half-Life? NO! Halo is the best game FPS wise, hands down, and without question. When Halo II comes out, nothing will stand before it! Besides Fable comes out around that time too! Half-Life II will be a small shade of grey compared to both these games! I have to reinterate: if Halo is a 10, then Halo II is 11! … Expand
