    I played this game with the game pass and i have to say, it made me feel warm inside. It's very reminiscent of the original Silent Hill games, with its genius concept, creepy atmosphere and story, and the FIXED CAMERA ANGLES. I'll admit those were kind of frustrating at times, and some of the Save points weren't placed at the best of moments. But overall I had a great experience, and II played this game with the game pass and i have to say, it made me feel warm inside.     Jugué la versión de series s y va muy fluida a excepción de 2 partes donde si se caía el Frame como a 10 fps, sin embargo es una experiencia buena, ya hacia falta un juego lineal que contara una buena historia.

    It is an X exclusive, because MS wanted an X exclusive. Visually it looks pretty ordinary even on a PC. There is no reason whatsoever not to release it on One. It looks especially weird, given non-existing X supply - to release an exclusive for a console which you cannot buy.

    Come for the genre. Stay for the story. I’d wanted to play an old school tank controls game but the Cold War setting is put to magnificent use. It’s horrifying and heartbreaking at the same time. Uncovering what lies at the heart of this tragedy is what kept me going. It’s a shame that reviews from both users and journos completely ignore just how good the story is.     amazing game honestly. if you are looking for braindead action gameplay this aint for you buddy, however if you are looking for a fntastic story driven, atmospheric thriller this is righ up your street.
    Being given bad reviews by ppl that just quite aren't intellegent enough to ply the game, but trust me unless you are alos braindead you will love this.

    I'm loving this game more than I thought I would. It's different and not very action oriented. It's more of a story based puzzle game. The graphics are phenomenal, the sound design is phenomenal, its overall just an amazing world I really want to drive into to uncover the mysteries that lay before me.     Sehr schöne Umgebungsgrafik, auch die Charaktermodelle sind sehr gut, nur bei den Gesichtern schwächelt es. Gameplay ist solide, bekommt von mir aber Abzug wegen der Steuerung...ist nicht schlecht, aber auch nucht besonders gut
    Story ist super! Alles in allem sehr kurzweilig und spannend...eher Mistery als Horror

    Although I've played all of bloober teams since layers of fear I haven't been a big fan of their work. Generally I find their games get a little repetitive after a while and I encounter issues like annoying chase scenes.

    I went in to the medium with low expectations but I have to say this is a big improvement. It's visually their most impressive game. Not extremely scary but maintains a very creepy atmosphere throughout.     Excelentes mecánicas de juego que hacen remarcable el resolver los puzzles, así como la música y la gran ambientación, que te adentran muy bien al suspenso del juego. No es el típico juego de jumpscares, por lo qué la sensación de intriga y terror psicológico se mantiene.

WhatThe Medium is without a doubt one of the best horror games I've ever played. What makes this game unique is the screen often splits into two as you're playing allowing you to control Marianne in both the real world and the purgatory-like world, which adds a very unique element unlike any game I've ever played. The music in this game, created by the Silent Hill composer, is also absolutely wonderful and really helps carry the journey from beginning to end. If I have only one complaint it's that the character models sometimes load a little oddly which can really break immersion, but this is a minor gripe of a beautiful game. With compelling puzzles, heart-racing survival moments, and so many mysteries the game was nearly impossible to put down, this game is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys a good physiological horror.… Expand

    El Juego es una Propuesta muy Original Con una Narrativa Excelente y no entiendo como no se habla más y mejor de el.
    100% Recomendado , he de decir que no esperaba nada de él y me tiene enganchado.
    Jugado en una Xbox Series X en un LG SM 9800 de 55" y terminada la historia principal.

    Great story telling with a varied puzzle like game play combined with a walking simulator of sorts. The game catches you and doesn't let you out until the whole story is told, the only thing its letting it back is the lack cluster game play mechanics

    I like the game for what it is. I wish there was combat in this game but the graphics and the story is why it's worth playing it but the short comings is lack of combat and frame pacing that can be a nuisance at times but I hope they can build off this new ip and expand it.

    No es Silent Hill, pero tiene su propia alma, no se por que lo vendieron como su representación. Me encanta por lo único que es. Vamos, que no es un juego de 10, pero es un buen juego que yo personalmente lo recomiendo.
    Es intrigante, absorbente, te mantiene alerta todo el tiempo, el sonido es excelso. De pega pondría algunas animaciones del personaje. Pero del resto muy recomendado!.

The Medium isn't really a horror game, its more a game about the work of Mediums with supernatural connections and powers to another world. What is there in the game feels like a step towards a greater game world, amazing characters and story for our Medium protagonists, in a future game maybe. The music is PHENOMENAL, as can be expected. The graphics, only slightly above par, with poorly utilized RT and some bad models and lip-sync but a whole lot of effort put in for most of the game worlds design. The Medium feels like a tribute to horror games from the 90s and I AM ALL ABOUT THAT. You really can't go past what is great value for a Game Pass title. Just wanted more, expected better and felt let down by how short the game is. Still really impressed though, would recommend a play regardless.     I'll be honest since it seems to be a thing not many people will do when you break down a lot of these scores. This game is pretty much silent hill without combat. I know its a weird way to look at it but it has been a game I have been waiting for years. This game hits all the points for me a good story. Its just a perfect amount of everything I needed to happen in a game that kept me going all the way to the end. Lasting between 5 to 7 hours depending on play style. Its defiantly worth a playthrough or 2 if you really want to try and understand this story. The deal reality is a great feature. Even if the possibility of the game DRS going down to 900p while in deal reality. I never seemed to saw a detail change and I never felt the game stutter. I will defiantly play through this game again after my first time experiencing this game.… Expand

The voice actors all do a stellar job in portraying their charactersThe Medium by Bloober Team reaches great heights in its unique cinematic camera angles and its mature story but unfortunately falls where gameplay is concerned. Bloober Team has created a uniquely oppressive atmosphere that lends itself well to the dark and mature story they're telling, and they tell it surprisingly well. The voice actors all do a stellar job in portraying their characters and conveying the varying emotions that drive the story. The major selling point of The Medium, that being the split world is beautifully portrayed. Both the real and spirit world are stunning to look at, as if they were taken straight from the paintings of Zdzislaw Beksinski. There are however some moments in the game where textures take too long to load that did take me out of the experience slightly but this can be excused as the game is also trying to render two synced worlds at once. Another immersion breaker but one that can also be overlooked is the facial animations that do appear quite stiff in most circumstances, this is however a AA game so I can understand. Probably the biggest letdown for me was the gameplay side of things. I would've appreciated at least a little bit of combat and more interaction with the world. There are moments throughout that just had me running back and forth that would have been enriched further with some combat, possibly against smaller enemy types, but this is just my opinion. To end on a more positive note, I must say another big standout of the game was the music and sound design. It managed to be both haunting and emotional, it did after all come from a legendary composer. Overall, The Medium pleasantly surprised me and I hope that this victory from Bloober Team means that they aren't done with the world of The Medium. There's so much potential for a sequel that I hope is coming.… Expand

    Un buen juego, no excelente pero si está "disfrutable" los puntos negativos son: Dura muy poco los modelos de los personajes parecen maniquíes (aunque eso se entiende ya que es un AA) y la caída de FPS no sucede mucho pero no es un punto a favor, ya de ahí el juego es hermoso y tiene mejor narrativa que cierto juego de Zombies...

    The game has good story and interesting plot, the visuals in this game are great and the camera angles are amazing it gets you in the mood of the game also the sound track is solid, the bad side of the game is that its short i took me around 6 hours to finish the game and i wish we got more information about the "other side"

Não sou muito fã desse estilo de câmera e támbem há muitas cutscenes em momentos aonde deveria ser jogavel, algo que me incomodou um pouco. mas consegui me adaptar até que bem durante aGostei bastante da atmosfera do jogo e a historia é bem interessante e pesada. esse sistema de 2 mundos simultâneos rodando em split screen na tela é uma proposta realmente interessante e que funciona bem. More than 80% of the time I was really impressed with the environment and atmosphere. Whereas about 15% of the time I was impressed with character visuals. The most impressive moment coming at the end of the game where they close in on her face and you can see her pores and other details Lastly, I didn’t mind the cliffhanger ending. The medium has a lot of upside. I feel like with the right support Bloober Team can make a totally beast sequel. It could focus on Thomas fighting the Maw. Playing his part showed me that they can make a combat system if they tried. Spirit force attacks and parrying. It could work.… Expand

Only qualm I had was that the villains never really felt threatening. The first chase scene was tough because I was still getting used to the static camera but after that even during the stealth portions I felt I could run around freely without getting caught. The puzzles were good though. Some were easy, some mildly difficult and some quite challenging with multiple pieces. Definitely worth a play through. Especially if you have gamepass.… Expand

    La première chose que je peux dire c'est que l'ambiance est bien sympa et met vite en condition. La DA est vraiment bien travailler et c'est certainement le point fort du studio Bloober team. On retrouve vraiment cette style à chacun de leur jeu comme dans les Layers of Fear.
    Le jeu de lumière est bien rendu et il est vraiment distinct entre les deux mondes.     D'ailleurs cette idée des deux mondes est vraiment bien pensé, j'aime cette idée même si je trouve dommage que l'on ai pas le choix d'aller quand on veux d'un monde à l'autre. Mais c'est pas vraiment gênant. Cette idée d'écran splitté est aussi bien trouvé, pouvoir avoir deux expériences différentes en même temps c'est pas commun.
    Concernant le gameplay il y a pas grand chose à dire, ça reste du classique, rien d'innovant à part l'expérience écran splitté qui rend l'appréhension de se déplacer différente.
    Pour les graphismes personnellement j'en attendais pas grand chose, ça reste un studio de petite envergure et donc le budget et la main d'oeuvre reste restreinte. Donc c'est pas une claque graphiquement mais si les graphismes faisait un bon jeu ça se serrait. Petit bémol quand même pour le rendu des émotion sur le visage. Ca reste plutôt rigide. Par contre niveau rendu des décors, objets, intérieur bâtiment etc... c'est vraiment beau et certaines séquences et passages sont vraiment magnifique. J'ai par moment quelques minutes à explorer des zones juste par ce que c'est vraiment beau.
    La musique très bonne (Yamaoka) et son d'ambiance sont bons mais on reste dans le classique du genre.
    Pour conclure si vous voulez de l'action à la RE passez votre chemin, de même si vous voulez du gros suspense avec des moments un peu speed. Par contre si vous aimez les jeux style "spirituel", où l'on peut prendre le temps, où l'ambiance (DA, musique etc...) vous met en condition, où vous aimez les histoires avec un sujet fort, avec un univers sombre et épouvante, foncez vous serez pas déçu surtout si vous avez le gamepass. Avoir un jeu comme ça dans un service comme celui-ci est vraiment intéressant.
    Cette note par rapport aussi du fait que c'est un jeu de niche, fait par un studio limité en moyen et que c'est un AA.
    Un bon jeu dans un univers particulier et si vous avez aimé les précédent titre de Bloober team, vous allez forcément aimer The medium.    … Expand

    This game gave me major Nostalgia vibes of the horror games of yester-year. I played a lot of RE and Silent Hill as a kid and this game hit that vibe for me perfectly! Not for everyone, but I recommend trying this game, and let the story build before you give it up.

Although the gameplay is just walking and solving puzzles, the plot and the interesting world made me keep playing. The only downsides for me are the few bugs and glitches and the weird optimization(FPS is all over the place,The game may not be a great "Horror" game but it definitely is a great game.     Excellent story and graphics. Gameplay is decent for this kind of games, but sound design was phenomenal. Even some technical issues like occasional stutter and frame drops didn’t hurt the overall experiance. Great work Bloober team!

    Don't expect an action or horror game, rather it is more of a suspense thriller and walking simulator with a great setting and a perfect execution of the soundtrack.
    The game falters in certain situations like in the graphic section when both worlds happen on screen. Some drops in frames and loading of textures but it's a great job since the loading screens are non-existent and the assets load simultaneously and the gaming experience is unaffected.

From a graphical standpoint, the game is beautiful. The audio is beautiful with the soundtrack really setting the tone, especially towards the end of the game with some of the most stellar tracks I've heard in a game. In terms of gameplay, this game isn't for everyone. it is a "walking simulator" in the absolute best way possible. The puzzles are simple but the exploration of the world really helps build it out. You get invested in Marianne's story which becomes very personal. The story is easily the best part of The Medium and this is easily Bloober Team's best game to date. While the game isn't scary apart from one jump scare, the dual reality mechanic, the gameplay loop and the story keep you playing. The game is relatively short at 8 hours and never feels like it has overstayed its welcome. I gave The Medium a 9/10 but my cohost only an 8/10. Therefore, we are giving our review an 8.5/10 and a highly recommend if you're a fan of this genre.… Expand

    Cool world, cool story, only reason a lot of people have issues is because they were expecting a silent hill clone from the beginning. Which is unrealistic and unfair to this game. Take it as it is and you will have a great experience.

    Well completed this on the series x and found the narrative to be very good. The graphics are not a great leap forward and can look a bit pixelated in places but i think that was intentional.     If you enjoy easy-enough, logical puzzle games and games with atmosphere that have a story with purpose, then this game should definitely be on your radar.

    Now onto the finer details with no spoilers;
    - The mechanic revolves around the protagonist existing in two planes; the human world and the spirit world, and tasks you with solving puzzles that can, and often do bridge between the two worlds. With the ability to go from one to the other (Sometimes by choice, others not so much) without loading screens and sometimes running simultaneously alongside each other. This was incredibly impressive and actually adds a layer to the game that you wouldn't normally think about, the worlds looked real, and their interaction with each other made them feel properly connected.

    - Graphics are really good, pretty much what you would expect at base from a Series X game at present, crisp, clear, ray tracing (although with the mirrors being a window to the other world it renders as it would normally do in previous generations). The spirit world looks especially creepy and twisted and is very atmospheric. Not much else to say about those really.

    -Gameplay is what you would expect from a point and click adventure these days, in that you control the character around a series of fixed camera angle (Resident evil 1-3 style) and look at things and solve puzzles in the world. No combat to speak of, but there is a few monsters that you need to navigate via puzzle solving. The puzzles are difficult enough to get the gears turning, but not so difficult that it breaks the immersion. They are all basic logic puzzles, no frills but they are interesting and incorporate the worlds in interesting ways. I really enjoyed the intricacies of the gameplay and the different styles of puzzle to unlock the wider storyline.

    -The Story is interesting; the mystery of the Niwa hotel and solving the mystery of the protagonists powers. A lot of twists and turns and I will warn you; the game is NOT a happy one, it deals with a LOT of things that are serious subjects, and doesn't put them in any light. Marianne in contrast, having dealt with a lot of things of a similar nature due to her powers can be quite upbeat and it breaks up the serious elements nicely, along with the inclusion of the childlike innocence of Sadness bucking the trend of scary little girls in video games being the bad guy, although her story becomes very apparent and eye opening as the game goes on. The atmosphere of this game is for the most part very good, the music is subtle and suspenseful, the game takes full advantage of HDR to create an atmosphere, rather than just a random extra. There is one jump scare, near the beginning of the game (I think hour 2 maybe?) that was cheap, in my opinion, and took me out of the game a bit, but that was the only thing i can say felt like that, and once that's done we had a very good game on our hands.

    -The Pacing of the game is fairly consistent in its increase from a slow, cautious stroll into a canter when things start coming together to a full blown spring to solve the mystery held within. No real issues, although chase scenes were a bit jarring at times.

    -The ending (Without spoilers) is well executed, if a little bit cookie cutter in terms of the actual ending story. It intertwines nicely with a lot of things that happen throughout making the game feel full, for want of a better term, everything that happens in the game had a purpose and an explanation and by the end you definitely understand why.

    I gave it an 8 as, although the ending is a bit cookie cutter, the story seems to have been written around this reveal, rather than tacked onto the end for a "Feels Factor", clues were spread throughout the game and if you looked for the wider story beats, you will keep finding yourself having "oh damn" moments when things that are seemingly innocent and disconnected suddenly become very connected and very important. It seems like a small thing but I think the jump scare that happens early on is very cheap in an otherwise thick, atmospheric game and it did take me out of the immersion for just a bit, and made me very cautious of what may be to come, but thankfully they seemed to have realised that it wasn't a great idea and swiftly moved on from it.    … Expand

    Si eres un jugador al que le gusta tomarse con calma los videojuegos, tratar de disfrutarlos al máximo y te gusta el tipo de género del que trata The Medium, te recomiendo jugarlo, es una experiencia muy buena y con la cual se pasan horas bastante entretenidas, eso sí, el juego es corto pero con la suficiente capacidad de mantenerte enganchado al mismo hasta que sin darte cuenta te loSi eres un jugador al que le gusta tomarse con calma los videojuegos, tratar de disfrutarlos al máximo y te gusta el tipo de género del que trata The Medium, te recomiendo jugarlo, es una experiencia muy buena y con la cual se pasan horas bastante entretenidas, eso sí, el juego es corto pero con la suficiente capacidad de mantenerte enganchado al mismo hasta que sin darte cuenta te lo pasas.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A fun game. I only played this since it was free on gamepass and supposed to show of the series x graphics. It looked at times, mostly it just looked like a last gen game. There were a lot of cheap deaths where the controls were just not responsive enough or it wasnt obviouse where you could move which was annoying. This is more of a 7.5 than an 8 to me. For the most part the story flowed smoothly with logical puzzles that could be solved. A few times i looked at guides when i was stuck since i dont like wasting time, i think it was the tanks and one other point. There were several times where i got stuck due to movement (running away etc.) Although the game was creepy at times, it never really delivered on true "jump out of your seat" scares. Its more of a sci fi, adventure puzzler.

    Worth playing if you have a series x, there's not much else to push its power at the moment. Its not a game of the year game though, something to play after you finish the games you really want to play.    … Expand

    Un muy buen juego, tiene sus fallos técnicos pero nada que interrumpa la experiencia de juego, su historia de suspenso es muy envolvente y mantiene siempre un buen ritmo narrativo.

    The Horror genre is probably the hardest to get right. Despite what I expected going into this, it became more of a mystery with ambience than an outright horror, but I actually enjoyed it more because of this. The story surprised me - it has depth, intrigue and emotion. It takes a while to get completely invested, but it pays off towards the crescendo. The environment is stunningly beautiful, photorealistic at times. From a technical perspective, the instantaneous jump between alternate realities and dual screen rendering was fantastic.

    Whiile the "puzzles" were simple enough, I did find them a little tiresome at times. I was desperate to progress the story and dive further into the world, and felt that the game would've benefited with less of those instances of trying to force player input for the sake of it. Even the stealth sequences with The Maw felt a little awkward from a gameplay perspective, despite nailing the atmosphere and tension. I do understand that the "walking simulator" style of games isn't for everyone though.    … Expand

    Praise for the mechanics of the game, as well as for the idea of a dual world. Quite unique. I hope to sequel.

    Veoma dobra post-komunistička atmosfera u igri, kompletan kompleks hotela je urađen odlično, kao da se nalazite u Černobilju. Priča je dosta zanimljiva, i tera igrača da istražuje i sakuplja iteme i pisma kako bi saznao što više o događajima. Muzika je na nivou Silent Hilla. Minus za prevelik broj sporednih pisama, koji nemaju mnogo veze sa glavnom pričom, kao ​i za kraj jer ostavlja mnogo neodgovorenih pitanja.

    Buen juego, a la altura de un buen triller psicológico. Adictivo por su historia, puzzles moderados a simples y un poco de acción.

    This game is sitting at 72 for no reason! Incredible title that deserves any horror fans attention. While steeped in creepy atmosphere this games main tactic to instill fear isn't with cheap jump scares but rather its world building and dark narrative. It's not a game that over stays its welcome either, paced at a consistent buildup that comes to a beautiful conclusion at just the rightThis game is sitting at 72 for no reason!     Cudowne odwzorowanie Polski z lat 70, miła fabuła trzymająca w napięciu. Bardzo dobrze się bawiłem podczas gry, lecz w pewnym momencie nie ma się już ochoty podchodzić do gry ponieważ zaczyna się robić oczywista i nudna, ale potem powraca ciekawość i chęć gry do samego końca historii

    Despite clunky animations, repetitive gameplay and some technical issues with the Xbox Series X version, I completed The Medium twice. Its dual-reality design, art direction and brilliant soundtrack often made me stop to take in a view or relish the music. Its mature story and atmosphere reminiscent of Silent Hill helped a lot too.     The exclusive Microsoft - The Medium is yet another significant milestone in the catalogue of psychological horror games from Bloober Team, which is increasingly becoming one of the best studios in this area. Without hiding where it comes from, it's an experience horror fans won't want to miss, no matter how short. The duality approach is interesting and has enormous potential. I hope that the Bloober Team will get to work on it again and develop it more in-depth.
