This game is miles wide, and an inch deep. The main storyline is something a teenager in high school could have written better. The graphics are dated and every single face is uncanny. I am 18 hours in and I didn't want to believe everyone stating it takes 10hrs to even get exciting.....guess what...its true but why?     Game about the space without the space. They could've added at least fake loading screens to create a feeling of flight, but instead we see black loading screens over and over, it kill immersion completely. Facial animation is terrible, graphics looks dated, planets exploration is pointless. It could be a good game maybe 10 years ago, but not today.

    Lots of re-used assets, such as sounds from Skyrim and Fallout 4, a true magnum opus from Bethesturd and Turd Howard, requiring only the best hardware possible if you even want to dream of achieving 30 fps.     This game also suffers from the deadly and terminal "Millenial Twitter" writing, with quirky characters who wont stop babbling about inane subjects in the most boring and predictable way possible. Every single character is insufferable.
    Let's not even talk about how this is a glorified Fetch simulator with absolutely no freedom to do whatever you want, no way to impact the story, no alternate routes, nothing. In a way, it's more Mass Effect: Andromeda and Ubisoft than it is Bethesda. That's really bad.
    There is not a single reason to play this game. You enjoy atmospheric space games? Go play No Mans Sky
    You enjoy Bethesda games? Go play Skyrim
    You enjoy every category that this game is a part of? Me too. I hate this game.    … Expand

    One of the worst games I’ve ever played, the load times are absolutely horrendous and the open worlds are dead and the A.I is so stupid. The loading screens are the worst I’ve ever seen, just about anything you involves a loading screen it’s like the game came from the PS3/360 era.

    Tried it on my Samsung, You can see that the people that worked on Skyrim is long gone. Buggy, horrible npc models, bad AI, boring landscapes, long load times. This is everything Skyrim isn't. What happened to Bethesda?

    Lame character animations, no exploration as promised before, it ain't vast at all, there's planet boundary and no flying! What the hell is this. We were promised something great but it's just another space game. I give it 1, because of the false promises.

    Jogo ruim é so pedra e caminhada, pedra e caminhada, tela de loading, tela de loading. Terminei na força do ódio. História generica, npcs bugados, não tem motion capture nas expressões faciais. Customização de nave pra aparecer em cg, IA fraquissima side quests desinteressantes.

    Boring, feels very watered down and very woke. Looks like their association with NASA ment they had to preach about climate, work and values.

    World feels hollow and empty and everyone looks similar.

    The dialog seems to be written by AI, nothing is engaging.

    Rotuine -> go to npc -> some dull generic dialog text -> fetch an object -> kill some people -> return -> get XP.

    This is by far the worst video game I've ever played. X-Box 360 graphics, ugly character models, awful story and writing, countless bugs, boring and repetitive quests, clunky gunplay, confusing UI, braindead AI, bad space travel, absolutely nothing to actually explore, loading screens more common than mobile game ads, jarring color schemes, no heart or soul to be found.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pros: Ship customizations, some ability and weapons customizations, Decent graphics, 3rd person view is good, minimal bugs

    Cons:
    -Story takes long to catch up and nothing memorable for a AAA title.
    -Graphics are not at the level of a AAA current gen title honestly. Some models look good but facial expressions, hair, vegetation, and others look 100% last gen. Its really a last gen game. Must be an old game engine that hasn't been updated enough to use modern techniques and hardware.
    -Because of last point, the loading times suck on the Series X. They're not taking advantage of the disk throughput of the system.
    -In light of last point, Space travel is immersion breaking and not memorable for a AAA currrent gen title. You load into a spaceship, to travel, have to fast travel basically to get into a planet and load into a planet. Its really immersion breaking.
    -Planets are essentially empty spaces.

    In summary; they could have made a better game if they focused on creating a few planets(8) that you can actually fly to in real time. Invested more in the story, and updating their game engine to utilize new streaming methods for loading data, amongst other things.    … Expand

    A ton of hype over the years but it didnt deliver the goods. Tons of bugs, no map, cant fly to planets directly. What a huge letdown man. Npcs dont even care if you start shooting randomly in the cities. Terrible looting and carrying system. Multiple instances where you go into the same place and fight the same exact enemies. Down bad horrendous experience.

    I did not know this was a flight simulator. I could not even make it through the intro. I do not ever want to control a space ship with a bunch of confusing panels and controls. The amount of flashing white epilepsy lights during this forced learning process, with no accessibility to stop it, made it worse. The people design look like they came straight out of Fallout 4 for PS4. The only graphical enhancements are due to new generation capability and ray tracing, and nothing to do with Bethesda designing new characters. The game is a whole is dull, drab, brown, PC, and feels like it is a remaster of a game that came out a decade ago. I signed up for a free month of game pass to try this game. This was the last straw. I took Xbox Series S out to garage and de-assembled it before soaking it in caulking. I am done with Microsoft. I am glad they bought Bethesda because we do not need this trash on Playstation ever!… Expand

    I am very disappointed with Starfield. It's a very well made game but it lacks the soul of previous Bethesda titles. Starfield didn't grab me like Fallout 4 did. I was so immersed in Fallout 4 and Starfield did the opposite. I played for about ten hours expecting the game to get better but it didn't. The game felt very bland. Also I spent about 30% of the game in loading screens.

    you go. played 20 hours + and feels like a waste of time. you do the same thing over and over and it's not rewarding. This game was so overhyped Fallout 4 is way better than this game.

NPCs are terribly stupid, quests are not interesting and there are a lot of loading screens, outdated graphics, the game is not optimized. Terribly boring game and it's not an RPG.. It's not worth 100 euros. For me, Bethesda is completely dead...

    This game is a last gen game. With so much media hype behind it that it convinced me to pick it up. after buying it and playing it for 10 hours or so I realised it was a scam. Holy balls, this this utterly boring and broken. The staunch support is probably Xbox guys wishing this was good.

In some areas the assets feel as old as morrorwind, for example trees in the starting cities are so bad they stick out, for all the wrong reasons.     This is not the game of the decade, and not the game of the year. Definitely not.
    This is a $25 half-baked game. A Beta version.
    Zero optimization, crashing sound and picture on a relatively powerful computer. Black screens, no sound, 30 sec delay sound etc. (other games with similar or higher machine requirements run smoothly)
    Usual Bethesda engine bugs, flickering objects but fewer.
    Stupid UI.
    Unkillable main NPCs.
    Fast travel is good you can fast travel everywhere and at least you don't have to look at empty boring ugly pixel piles, no need to wanrering, exploring, no need to look at cut-scenes and it only loads once for minutes, not three or four times.
    The missions are primitive, can be broken, some of them bugged
    The skill system is basically good, but could use a lot of fine tuning.
    The inventory system is not well thought out and breakable.
    E.g. Your ship's cargo hold is full, so you throw away stuff & resoursces on your ship.
    When you rebuild your ship all the stuff on your ship goes into the cargo hold. Ooverloaded it multiple times (but still funcioning).
    Every time you rebuild, the ship's equipment is regenerated. What you can sell in the spaceport kiosk... you rebuild and sell, rebuild and sell again...

There is some good acting but the outdated faces pull me right out of the story. The battles with constantly the same enemy, finding the same things. It gets old really quick.     It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
