    Don't be fooled: this is not horror, this is not FPS.
    This is walking simulator with no meaning, same corridors and confusing puzzle-solving. Nothing disgusting here but combat system itself.
    You want to hear the plot? (no spoilers) - You just revive, walk and push buttons for 4 hours and die.
    That's the game. $40 pls

    Un juego lento, corto, gráficos pasables, no sabe llevarte y no me refiero a un mapa o un camino de baldosas amarillas, me refiero a algo más sutil, jugar con el escenario, embaucarte con lo que te rodea, la ambientación está bien y los puzzles si me han gustado, es un juego, caro, corto y no inventa nada

    Took me 3 hours to finish the game, a short game with bad graphics, bad gameplay and bad mechanics and bad movements

    To be honest, I've been waiting for this game since last year, and when its release was delayed until today, I was at a loss, to say the least. The developers said they postponed the game because they redid the entire gameplay from scratch.

    As for the atmosphere, yes, it is powerful. The game runs on XSS at a stable 60 fps, which is good news.     As for the atmosphere, yes, it is powerful. The game runs on XSS at a stable 60 fps, which is good news. Also in the game, there are very juicy sounds and a rare soundtrack, pumping up the atmosphere. This is where the pluses end.

    The first disadvantage is that the game is short. You can go through it in 3-5 hours, and there is no replay value at all. The second negative is the complete lack of a plot. We do not know what happened, what happens during the game and the ending of the game, to put it mildly, will disappoint you. This is what I said softly. In general, this ending is to be expected if you've watched anime like Dark Myth. The atmosphere is the same. Well, the third minus is the gameplay. He is primitive. It's just a walking simulator with almost no variability, with puzzles like "poke until it solves itself" and some combat, and the most scripted + most of the opponents will simply disappear forever if we step back a little.

    In general, you can get acquainted by subscription. Buy for the money that they ask for it - in no case. Glory to Ukraine!    … Expand

The combat is possibly the worst in any game I’ve ever played. I’m an OG Xbox fan but I think it’s time to switch. This is unfortunately what I expect from gamepass now a days; total disappointment.… Expand

    This feels more like someones art project than an actual game -- which is shocking it took so long to develop. You don't do much of anything besides solve random puzzles and walk very, very slowly. The art style and atmosphere are superb though. There are almost no controls, no story, and again, it's painfully slow.     Had high hopes for this game and when I installed and started playing, I was given ZERO (ZILCH) clue or backstory on what im suppose to be doing which lead to roaming around for about 45mins completing nothing. The game looks good, but thats about it.

    Overall life is short and I would not recommend investing time into this abomination of a game.

    Gamepass effect taking over. When I read that Scorn has been in development since 2014 I got my hopes up, but in the end I was severely let down. Took about 5 hours to beat, and the entire experience was boring, no music, everything looks the same, confusing puzzles that aren't satisfying as much as they are confusing. Hopefully others enjoy this game, but it just didn't click with me at all.

    This game is a steaming pile of garbage. I literally fell asleep halfway through the game out of boredom. The campaign is too short. I beat it in 8 hours, but I spent over 3 hours sleeping. So in reality this game is under 5 hours. Are you freaking kidding me? The greedy developers are asking $40 for this incredibly short game. The physics are beyond horrible.     There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the campaign, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $40 for a game with no replay value is cash grab. Sure it's on Xbox Game Pass, but what good is any of that when that service is full of low quality indie trash? I don't recommend this boring game at all.

    P.S. Hey Metacritic. I appreciate this platform you give us to write our reviews, but you really have to do something about your moderators. They are lurking into my account and randomly removed about 5 of my past reviews, including this one. What exactly is their problem? I don't care if the game is RDR2, FIFA, TLOU2, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, Mario or whatever. A 0-10 is a valid score for all these games. You want to know why? Because it's called an opinion. How dare I have a mind of my own. Do you just want me to think like everybody else? Jesus, sorry I'm not easily pleased by a story that makes me cry like these nerdy "le wrong generation" millennials, no offense. I leave reviews here for the same reason anyone else does.     Full disclosure; I have not finished the game. I won't finish the game. But I can safely say that I hate almost everything about this game. I would say I was hopeful after about 30 minutes. I liked what I was seeing, and thought there was potential there. But I am now 4-5 hours in and the last 3-4 hours have been a completely unenjoyable slog. If this is a game you enjoy, cool, I'm gladFull disclosure; I have not finished the game. I won't finish the game. But I can safely say that I hate almost everything about this game. However some enemies move quickly, and trying to defend yourself with this awful weapon, leads to many frustrating deaths. This does not improve with the next weapon you get.....nor the ammo required for it. Finding the ammo is far too infrequent and just results in you blindingly running from enemies because you have no ammo to fight back. The healing process is also awkward and just makes combat even more annoying than it already is. You have some weird sort of spider that you plug into a machine. This in turn then drains the machine of blood and fills up small sacs on the spider. You then pinch one into your arm to heal one bar. But you have to hold the button and when you're hit, it resets the action. Just a pain.

    Then come the puzzles. The first one is so obtuse and unnecessarily difficult, that it would come as no surprise if you decide to abandon the game right there. It is a puzzle that is two clever for its own good. But the worst culprit is the checkpoint system. It is an absolute joke. You can be set back nearly an hour because of a clumsy death and the lack of constant checkpoints. It's frustrating because Scorn has the elements in place to make a fantastic game.....it just doesn't have know how to utilise them.    … Expand

    Не то что бы я ждал scorn, но интерес у меня был. Как же его, блять, растоптали.
    Для начала о хорошем: визуал. Все видели, все сказали, игра выглядит сногсшибательно. Первые минут 20 ты оторваться от созерцания не можешь. Жаль, что после этого игра продолжается.
    Все интерактивные объекты попервой нужно искать банальным тыканьем в углы, так как они никак не выделяются на фоне остальной разбросанной по уровню параши. Но вот вы разобрались что можно нажимать, даже решили первую головоломку и перешли в новую комнату. И тут начинается самое веселое. Ты начинаешь понимать, что все локации (кроме финальной) выглядят идентично и отличаются лишь тем, висят ли по коридорам кишки из жополицых монстров. Тут же вы получаете своё первое оружие - непонятный дилдо-пылесос с дистанцией атаки 2 см, объемом магазина 2 выстрела и перезарядкой 2 минуты. И вот этой машиной смерти вам нужно будет орудовать вплоть до половины игры. Матюков не хватит, чтобы описать, как же неудобна эта хуйня. Пистолет и дробовик немного спасают ситуацию, но чтобы их перезарядить или сменить друг на друга, также потребуется стальная выдержка. А сами враги - ну это пиздец какой-то. Просто какие-то анусы на ножках, которые с автонаводкой плюют в вас шмегмой. В итоге, цикл битвы с ними выглядит так: вы делаете выстрел, убегаете как можно дальше от врага (параллельно молитесь, чтобы автонаводка не сработала), перезаряжаетесь, подбегаете, делаете выстрел и по новой.
    И вот так до конца игры: вы ходите по однообразным, заебавшим вас локациям, "сражаетесь" с заебавшими вас глистами, решаете заебывающие "головоломки" (коих на игру три штуки).
    Забыл написать про сюжет (ну собственно как и разработчики). При прохождении, хуй вы что поймете. Ни диалогов, ни записок, ни "environmental storytelling". Вспомнить Journey, там тоже никто тебе ничего не говорит, но ты все равно понимаешь основные вещи, необходимые для удержания внимания. В scorn же, особый подход к истории. Чтобы её узнать будьте добры купить deluxe версию, где будет артбук на 200 страниц и вот в нем то все расписано.    … Expand

    This game was something that turned out nothing as I expected from the trailers that I watched over the past two years. I played this game for about 2 hours, before uninstalling it. I became very frustrated that if I was to continue that I would have to look up the solution to continue the game. I tried and I threw in the towel and threw out the game. It was a huge disappointment.

The puzzles are obtuse to the point where you just end up clicking randomly in the hope that will somehow get lucky. All for games making you work, but that only works if it actually possible to work the answer out which in Scorn you just cant as the puzzles just ain't logical. Avoid as really not worth the frustration… Expand

    We can save only the graphics and atmosphere. Excellent on that. Unique!! The rest is just a chain of boring and uninspired puzzles. Without the great graphics, this game should not have more than a 1.

    "Scorn" is a visually excellent game, but very lacking in substance. It consists of a few simple macro-puzzles interspersed with deserted corridors, and not much else.
    After the initial awe of its stunning environments during the first hour, boredom sets in. There's nothing to keep one's interest alive, and the infrequent puzzles make the progression sluggish and eliminate the desire for    "Scorn" is a visually excellent game, but very lacking in substance.     The game's greatest strength is definitely its brilliant wordless narrative, where you piece together the fate of a dead civilization and the creature you play as in your head. Scorn is an experience that any fan of oppressive atmospheres and rotting flesh should not miss. [Issue#323]

    Give Scorn a chance if you feel like you can enjoy this game as an experience, rather than a strictly gameplay-focused project. Otherwise some questionable design choices and short length will most likely just bore you to death.
