    I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this but this is my legitimate opinion. When the original RE4 came out, I absolutely hated it. It was the game that ruined Resident Evil for me. I really love classic survival horror games and the metroidvania design of them. This game is a big improvement from the original RE4 but still lacking the survival horror feeling that I love. It adds a lotI know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this but this is my legitimate opinion. When the original RE4 came out, I absolutely hated it. It was the game that ruined Resident Evil for me. I really love classic survival horror games and the metroidvania design of them. This game is a big improvement from the original RE4 but still lacking the survival horror feeling that I love. It adds a lot of new puzzles and side activities that reward you for exploration and persistence. It's significantly more fun for me than the original RE4. That being said, this is still an action game and feels disappointing when compared to something like RE2 remake.… Expand

    so much loading textures, stuttering frame bcz you dont lock frame rate on series s quality mode, technically the game is poor even though i consider it have the best visuals in 2023 so far.
    the gameplay is so much fun.

    putting all nostalgia aside this game in hot garbage, voice acting, character models. massive cut content, unrealistic "end game" unlocks, time-based, **** knife durability????why???, aiming is terrible but there's an apparent "fix" for this via youtuber...     There is a massive dead zone issue on the right analog stick on the Series X version of this game that makes it unplayable outside of Assisted mode (the easiest difficulty with aim assist). If that weren’t a problem, this game would be a 10/10. Capcom should not have released it in this state. It ruins an otherwise masterpiece of a game.

Technical issues on the Series X, aiming in this game is painful because of the deadzone...still no patch until now...this was also present in the demo can't believe they didn't fixed it. Plus too many cuts Capcom said no cuts I mean for real not even the R.P.D. Costume which was present since the very first version of RE4 for GameCube is in there. U3 cut, JJ Redesign is terrible...he's just the enemy you find in the village with a Machine Gun, No Separate Ways and Assignment Ada, Incendiary Grenades...I also miss the Truck Driving Ganados it was something different from the original, same for the Island segment where Ashley drives the Drill...everything is now much more simple.… Expand

    It is a great Game but not on the Same Level as the orginal What is really a big Problem is getting S+. I'm not SO bad in Videogames. But this is simple ridiculous. It's ok to make something hard but not to hard + you have to rush because you have to do it in under 5 1/2h and with only 15 saves. There is something like hard and then there is something like ridiculous...

    I did in the End after Weeks but it was pure Pain. I would give it a 8/10 but this is a reason to take a Point away. But after all it's still a good Game that makes fun. The 0/10 Rantings are ridiculous. But the 10/10 are way to much too. This would mean it is a All-Time Classic. And i don't know if this is something Peoble still will love in 15 Year's like the Orginal?!    … Expand

    Original did it better. All the weapons are worse, there's a gross part where black sludge is poured into the mouth of Ashley, and Leon has a horrible personality now.

    This game have some issues on Xbox series X how is it running worse than the ps5 I have both console I can tell the difference Xbox series X is not a premium console at all Capcom devs need to fix deadzone and more.

This remake is amazing in many ways, the changes are all good and none detract from what the original was. The fact that ther are so many 10 out 10, so called professsional reviews, shows how bad games journalism has become. Go and watch Digital Foundrys tech break down to get an accurate picture of what this game delivers. And in my opinion, avoid the Series X version completely until capcom has fixed the controller issues (which they have yet to even acknowledge!)… Expand

    Broken camera on Xbox, even tho its the same engine, as in previose games, while on ps5 all works fine, I'll buy the game only after you will fix.

    I love the resident evil franchise especially the original fourth part, the remaster of the first part but also the remake of the second part. the third part had weaknesses and was not much fun, but the remake of the fourth vind I only bad.....

The graphics are grainy, dark and depressing unlike the original game which was often colourful and vibrant. Overall this is a major disappointment and the hype is unwarranted.… Expand

I have been looking forward to the Resident Evil 4 remake for a long time since its announcement, I had high expectations from the game, as the developers from Resident Evil 2 started the project. I had no doubts that they will make the game as high quality as the second part, but I don't know how wrong I was. To begin with, it does not have the spirit of the original, to my regret they could not feel the thing that, it seems to me, not many understood why they love her, and why she is so catchy. The feeling of loneliness, hopelessness, well-executed action component, great design, great soundtrack (and not the composition playing in the island, stolen from Wonder Woman, to say that I was shocked, to say nothing, am I playing a **** DC comic?), stylistically the original is great, the font and inventory menu is a pleasure to look at, that Japanese game (in a good way) that happens on the screen is what we all love so much for the 4th part. The remake, with its very strong marketing campaign, with huge credibility, did nothing to make me feel at home in it. So: disgusting optimization on Xbox series x in all modes, texture loading, cows getting stuck in textures, zombies lagging, disgusting aiming controls (sensitivity settings do not help here either), terrible camera, if the enemy is close to Leon, it also gives miss if you are pushed or grabbed. The soundtrack in connection with Wonder Woman is just terrible, the water looks like a carpet, and this is on a nextgen. Oh yes, when the original came out, it was a real nextgen, where is all this, Capcom? The lighting is terrible in places, this primarily concerns Leon's face, which looks WORSE than in the second part of the remake. There are no additions during the passage, the fight with Krauser is just a joke, and the biggest problem is that, apart from optimization, nothing can fix this. Capcom jumped above its head when the Resident evil 2 remake came out. Unfortunately, I don’t look forward to their next project, although I bought everything that is possible from this series and not on one platform. I'm a big fan of this series and I was sad when rez6 came out (then the game was made by a big team that made different chapters, and you can really feel it). The same thing happened with 4. It has no integrity, it's an expensive project, but it's anything but resident evil 4. It has a lot of problems, too many. The maximum that I can give her is 3 points, since 0 is not an assessment, but 3 threw for the efforts to bring something of their own, but instead of making their own, or just a copy, they did not succeed either another.… Expand

    There are countless great set pieces that are balanced to perfection in the original, but when replicated in the remake, most of those set pieces don't even come close. Set pieces were crucial to strength of Resi 4, and when the 1st Village encounter was far worse here in the Remake, I was    Game is mostly Polished & tight, But its sadly missing any soul or magic from the original Resi 4.
    There are countless great set pieces that are balanced to perfection in the original, but when replicated in the remake, most of those set pieces don't even come close. Set pieces were crucial to strength of Resi 4, and when the 1st Village encounter was far worse here in the Remake, I was deeply worried.
    Just the basic combat encounter design alone is no way near as strong as the original.
    It's take skill, vision, balancing & tuning to make fun shooter combat, but Capcom has often failed in that regard.
    You also get enemies who appear behind you with no indication, frequent genetic combat, and some bosses that will exploit that the player doesn't have an always availble dodge move.

    The Music is far worse, and most of the new characters are bad ( except for the Merchant who is still good.)

    There's long periods of down time just traversing, which shows problems with pacing. This game is about 10 hours longer than the original, and they filled that extended length with padding, bad puzzles, long boring traversal and general filler.

    I played Resi 4 - 3 times just 2 months ago to prepare and be able to make a comparison. I'm now half way though my 2nd playthrough of the Remake and I'm sort of bored allready.    … Expand

    Remember when Capcom used to have new games with massive graphics improvement? From RE2 to RE3 in the 90s, to 5 years later RE4 a game that was on a league of its own when it comes to RE games graphics and looked better than most games in its generation, and then doing it again with RE5 who looked better in every area than    Terrible art style, terrible characters models, bad graphics.

    Remember when Capcom used to have new games with massive graphics improvement? Now Capcom is trash when it comes to that, there's barely any difference from RE2 to RE4 remake, on top of that these new games have terrible art style like I said which makes things even worse, you can barely see anything in certain locations, and of course its because Capcom doesn't want us to look at the terrible RE Engine textures, extremely lazy.

    Leon and Ada are the same trash models from RE2. Original RE4 and RE6 Leon and Ada models are SO MUCH better. Remember when Capcom kept making new models for every new RE game but no one cared because they were all amazing? It's a good thing to have the same models returning but only when they are good, the thing is that Leon and Ada from RE2 are trash. Luis and Wesker models are trash too. They took everything that made those characters cool.

    The voice of acting of those characters are also terrible. RE voice acting was great in the late 2000s, back when every character looked and sounded memorable. What happened? We know using the same things again isn't a issue for Capcom, as they have been using many of the assets they created for RE7 in every single new RE game, and that's why the new RE games look so cheap. So why not use the same voice actors from the past? Those cheap **** are trying to save as much money as possible, no wonder most of the new RE games are mostly just a copy and paste. Same trash art style for every single new RE game, same trash character models, same assets for 4 games in a row. But they can't bring back the voices that made those characters popular, no, that's too much for them. Maybe they are trying to save money with that too, and it's less expensive to bring new people to do the voice acting, who knows.

    But of course dudes are giving 10 to this trash, because they don't understand gaming. This is just the new generation, the same dogs who think Fortnite is good, they don't know when a game is actually good because they haven't played any.

    Gun sounds are terrible. Amount of cut content are terrible. Leon movement animations are terrible.

    Leon in the original was extremely stylish like Dante, literally every single animation of Leon was created to make him as stylish and cool as possible, which suited his personality very well. Now Leon personality is changed to worse, and theres literally 0 stylish things about him, even the spinning kick looks dumb as **** but his movement is just the worst.

    This game is going to be hyped for about 2 months and then everyone is going to forget about it, it will never be a classic that people kept playing for 20 years like the original.    … Expand

    The remake is no doubt a successful hit that fixes the issues the original game had, however the original version of res 4 still remains as the highest rated res game, that won the most game awards, which is the main reason why the game is still renown, even as a remake.

    Game itself is very good, near-masterpiece. Easily one of the best games Capcom has ever made and one of the best RE games of all time. Only real thing missing is U-3 boss fight. Because Remake literally improves everything else. Also i'm pretty sure that U-3 will be in the DLC, so hopefully soon, even that problem is solved.

    Se ve bien los graficos; aunque NO entiendo como caen los FPS; es que nota que los FPS de esta version se caen, es que se ven microcortes o tirones y se nota un poco de Lag.
    en la version de PS5 se ve muy bien, estable y va muy parejo

Foi feito com muito carinho e a Capcom merece os parabéns por esse Remake que finalmente está fiel a sua obra original, diferente do Resident Evil 3 remake, o residente Evil 4 remake está excelente e muito fiel então vale muito a pena você comprar o jogo porque tenho certeza que você não vai se arrepender. Para ficar perfeito só tá faltando lançarem o separate ways espero que venha logo mais porque é a única coisa que está faltando nesse remake a visão da Ada nesse jogo. Para quem está sentindo falta do inimigo u3 fique tranquilo porque ele deve aparecer na campanha da Ada, o inimigo u3 não fazia muito sentido na campanha principal, ele era um inimigo muito aleatório na campanha original e agora na campanha do remake faz muito mais sentido a linha do tempo que criada pela Capcom onde os inimigos tem um lote maior e mais detalhado e bem explicado e u3 não fazia parte disso então ele foi um excelente corte um acerto da Capcom.… Expand

    I thoughroughly enjoyed playing through this remake. In many ways the original game defined modern action adventure 3rd person gameplay so it was interesting to see what capcom would do here. Ultimately it plays better, looks better and has the same corny 90's vibe that gives the series it's identity. The performance felt great with my vrr display in resolution mode.     It's almost sad that i have to say this, but Capcom is one of those very last game developers who actually cares about delivering amazing game, that fans have been waiting for. It would have been so easy for them to make cheap cash grab, but they didn't do that. They actually put hard work into this project.     Anyone who is surprised by this low user score, just know that there is no real hate for this game. For example, on Steam it's "Overwhelmingly positive" with over 12 000 reviews. What happened here, seems to be typical review bombing/double fake accounts giving 0's. This game is phenomenal, buy it, play it. Games that are this good release rarely, don't miss it.

    It's so obvious that some attention whore (who likely don't even have the game), is making double accounts to review bomb this masterpiece.     I just finished this game on xbox on normal difficulty and i can say this game is a super fun ride and an experience every gamer - who appreciates quality video games - should make. The graphics, the sound design, enemy design, atmosphere, characters, music, sandbox, the combat, the horror, the overall presentation, everything is top notch. Why do i give it "only" a 9 out of 10 rating? But all in all a fantastic game and the fact that we can unlock a new game plus and costumes and much more while playing the game without paying for stupid microtransactions shows that Capcom really cares.

    I had zero fps or controllers issues with this game. I played on the performance mode on Series X. Perfect remake and surpassed my expectations. Will do multiple playthroughs of this one.

Rain/storm looks great and makes it obvious that pre-release footage was just some "beta" stages.

    Obviously no game is perfect, i could always complain about something, anything (that goes for any game btw). But i almost don't want to, it's just as close to perfection as modern remake could be. Dead Space Remake was solid, very good. But this one is next level compared to that one.

    To bring out some negatives, as a die hard RE4 fan, i was obviously disappointed that U-3 was cut. U-3 had very interesting design and fight was fun and scary and would have worked perfectly in this new remake. I'm not really sure why the cut it, but i'm hopeful that maybe they are holding it for dlc.

    BUT that didn't break the game for me at all, everything else was great, most boss fights were amazing and expanded content helped as well. Atmosphere was absolutely flawless on all three locations (village,castle,island). Voice acting (for the most part) was great. My biggest surprise was Ashley, she was perfect! I was never huge Ashley fan, in the original she was extremely annoying, but in the remake she almost felt like new character (in a good way). Leon's voice acting was solid, as expected. Overall script/dialogue was also nice, i especially liked moments between Leon and Ashley.

    At the end of the day, i don't even care if it wins any awards, all i can say is, that it's very good game and that's the most important thing. But when development team puts so much passion into a project like this, i think it should be rewarded.    … Expand

    This remaster is amazing, it looks exceptional and the pacing is excellent. Capcom have streamlined the experience while keeping everything that made the original great and have thrown in some surprises to catch players of the original off guard. Highly recommended.

    Es fiel al original con mecánicas y enemigos nuevos. No digo que el juego sea de 10 porque eso es subjetivo pero objetivamente menos de 7 no puedes ponerle porque lo único que podrías quejarte es que faltara U-3 y los DLCS (que llegaran mas adelante).
    Porque si lo comparamos con el original, el remake es mejor tanto en mecánicas, jugabilidad, desarrollo de personajes y ambientación.    … Expand

    Resident Evil 4 Remake is an absolute delight. Veterans of the original will love the changes and newcomers can now appreciate just how good this game actually is. Capcom continues the trend of keeping the series fresh in our minds. I cannot wait for the next new entry as well as what remake they do next. Almost guaranteed we will see RE5 next, but Capcom please listen to your fans and give us that Code Veronica remake we so rightly desire. Regardless, fans of the series are eating so good right now.
