    Я никогда не был фанатом оригинала и саму игру сложно было назвать "Resident Evil" в принципе, но в ремейке проделали огромную работу и теперь это настоящий survival horror. Да, по сюжету тут ничего выдающегося так и не появилось, но как грамотно всё Capcom переосмыслила, просто моё почтение.     El mejor remake de la historia, así de simple. Capcom dando cátedra de como hacer un remake, prácticamente un nuevo juego con la base del original, no un simple remaster. Este juego es mínimo un 9, toda esa gente que está puntuando mal este juego, claramente no tiene ni idea de videojuegos

    Absolutely incredible. They took one of the greatest games of all time and polished it to a beautiful shine. It runs great, plays great, is packed with content at launch and getting even more. I'll be playing this one alongside the original for years to come.     Such a masterpiece. I don’t know why this game is review bombed with low ratings, they don’t have any strong arguments why this game would be bad. This game really improves on the previous game and successfully translated to modern gaming. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a game this much (probably Red Dead 2 was the last I remember)

    Game of the year for me if you count remakes.

    Idk why this game is getting review bombed. It felt like playing the original all over again. Some content was cut, but I suspect it will be used for Ada's gameplay when it gets released. Overall great game.

    After pointing out the good points of the game, let's go to the weaknesses of the game, which made me deduct two points from the game. One of the first elements of the Resident Evil series is the sense of stress and dread of the game, which players always expected in different versions, but unfortunately, sometimes most games went towards action. The point I want to say is that some of the chapters of this title are too action-packed, reminiscent of Re5 and Re6!
    Unfortunately, like the process that Capcom took for the remake of the second game, the original soundtracks are in DLC form which is extremely ridiculous! It has also placed two other Deluxe weapons, which is really an insult to the audience. The other contents of the deluxe version are not convincing and are not worth buying at all. (Unless the DLC of Ada Wong will be released in the future)
    Now let's talk about technical problems. During several times of playing the game, I saw annoying frame drops and slow loading of textures, which I hope will be fixed in the next updates.
    The issue that was very disturbing in the original version was the very weak characterization of the antagonists, which is still present in the remake! (Except for the Jack Krauser character, who has no problems)    … Expand

    The Original RE:4 was very much a product of the early 2000s. It was cheesy, over the top, and irreverent.     Fast forward to today, and RE:4 is a very different game. It's much less irreverent. It's much less set in the current comedic climate of the early 2000s; its humor is all but gone, and it's more grounded. There's a more serious tone, and things make a little more sense.

    And in this shift to a more serious take on the story, a more grounded one, they gave her a more practical outfit that is still sexy, and she says her lines like a normal person talks.
    But for the life of me, I can't figure out why that was the sticking point. All the characters changed. They were all adjusted to meet this current vision of the game.
    But because Ada Wong isn't in Jessica Rabbit cosplay, talking like a cam model, all these fans harass the actress (who was acting under the direction of the DIRECTOR), and whose character was designed by the art team under the creative director's vision.

    So yeah, things that had NOTHING to do with her, these fans drove her to delete her social media accounts. Then you have to come on here and pitch a hissy fit that a side character doesn't dress, talk and act like their favorite OnlyFans model.
    This is where we are people, simps are mad a video game character doesn't make them want to pull on themselves the minute she appears on the screen.    … Expand

    Amazing game! Just like Dead Space Remake is now the main version of the game, same can be said for Resident Evil 4 Remake! Both games are classics, but sadly they are outdated in many aspects and both remakes improve these games greatly. From now on whenever someone is going ask "should i play dead space" or "is RE4 worth playing", then the remakes will be the only versions that will beAmazing game!     I'm a big RE fan, and 4 is not my favourite out of them because of the too much action stuff and less horror elements in the game but this remake is great! Humble to the original and improved the its boring parts. Hope next remake with be Code Veronica and after the good crititcs it wont be an action orented game.

    Re2 I totally did want slap the **** out of leon."original version" It's really fun and I enjoy even hunting down fish and snakes to sell for money. Bad: Janky controls, caused a few deaths.

    I dont know why people are giving this game **** scores! Perhaps it's due to them playing the GameCube original and wanted the exact same game with no changes except graphics.     Capcom have managed to create one of the greatest games of all time yet again. Captures everything I loved about the original, which is/was my favorite game. Leon is as cool as ever, arguably his best appearance in the series. He manages to show much more emotion in this one, while still keeping his badass attitude. One of, if not the most visually impressive game I've ever played. The RE Engine continues to be one of the most impressive engines in the industry. Overall I think this is easily the best Resident Evil game out of any of the recent releases since RE7, and arguably the best in the franchise, contending with the original. It's full of content, with my first playthrough taking over 20 hours, in comparison to RE Village taking me 11 hours. I recommend this game to anybody that's a fan of the series, survival horror games, or just third person shooters in general. I promise you will get your money's worth. So my hopes for this Remake were, that it improves on that front, becoming more Resi feeling, more creepy, more survival horror.     I never was the biggest fan of the original RE4. I liked it, but also kinda hated it, for pushing Resi in another away from survival horror direction. So my hopes for this Remake were, that it improves on that front, becoming more Resi feeling, more creepy, more survival horror. I wanted the Remake to make me finally become a fan or even love Resi 4. Well, as you can see on my score, this mission was successfully accomplished. Even though they cut a good amount of locations and even bosses from the game, i don't mind it. I can't say that i miss the cut stuff too much. They improved the game on so many fronts and added so many new places that fit perfectly into the game,that the cut stuff isn't really missed. For the sake of not making this Review a 100 pages book, i'll just say this.
    It's very faithful to the original game, it just presents it with massively improved graphics and sound, much better creepy moody atmosphere, much more story pieces, especially more background to characters, added side missions for extra rewards, but overall, it's still the game you remember and probably loved, just much better. Like it should be. That's what a great Remake should do. In my opinion, the Remake is better than the original, because it's a massively improved version of it, making things that were terrible much better, so the experience is just much more intense and much more fun. After this Remake i'm definitely a fan of this game now, i would even say i love it now and it has become one of my favorite ones in the series. What is insane that the Remake actually accomplished that. This just shows what a good Remake this actually is. Capcom did it once again. Good Job.    … Expand

    Excellent remake with lots of replayability. Any Series X owner needs to check out this great looking--and playing--game. I rarely replay games immediately after beating them, but the moment I finished this one, I was ready to play again with all my upgrades.

    Resident Evil 4 is one of my newest favourite games, I only recently got into RE4 Classic so I do have somewhat of a bias towards the Remake, it's a gorgeous game with really good visuals. It feels more dark than the original, it feels great but I prefer the cheesiness of the original over this, this Game isn't entirely dark and witty but leans into it more than cheesiness that peopleResident Evil 4 is one of my newest favourite games, I only recently got into RE4 Classic so I do have somewhat of a bias towards the Remake, it's a gorgeous game with really good visuals.     If this were a modern game I would give it a 9 out of 10 but considering it's a near rework in many ways I have to give it a 10 out of 10 overall. Plays enough like the original but the additions made to the 2023 release stand out as augmentation; an amazing reiteration of another golden era of video games.

I dont like the addition of the crafting system and I think the addition of knife durability was a lame decision, as knife combat wasnt exactly OP enough to nerf in the OG, but I digress. A huge arsenal of weapons, pleasant shooting, dozens of challenges that force you to replay the game in a new way, beautiful boss fights, a good leveling system.     It's equally as great and flawed as the original. The graphics are amazing but the controls are super clunky. One of the main grievances I have with this game. Other than that, the game is great!

This is because the game gives you just about enough ammo to survive but not enough to feel ever safe. The enemy variety is very clever from parasite spiders to flying bugs.     Resident Evil 4 remake is literally so amazing. It has great replay ability and kept true to the original. They expanded on the story, which was kinda lacking in the original. They changed some things but all to make the game better. This game had really big shoes to fill, which they succeeded.     It is not a perfect game, There are a lot of things the original did better specially Ramon Salazar and Sadler.
    I don't think the game balances correctly
    between being goofy and taking itself seriously as much as the original did.
    The most important thing is... the game is FUN.

    The graphics and gameplay are very good but this shouldn't be an action game. I know this game is a remake. The end of the game is like a hollywood action movie :) It doesn't fit the Resident Evil culture.

    I played the original Resident Evil 4 for the first time before playing the Remake so I have a fresh perspective on both games with 0 nostalgia. While I like the Remake much more than the original I still loved both titles and I think they pair well together. Overall this is just a much more matured game when compared to the original title on every front. My only complaints about the original game before playing the remake were certain sections of the island area that have now been altered or completely overhauled entirely for the better. The fiction has been heightened to new levels and the mistakes made throughout the original have been adjusted accordingly. Everything now fits within the context of this new tone and it all just works excellently without sacrificing Leon's wit and the original's charm. You have to see it to really understand what I'm saying. Without spoiling anything, the characters have been done much more justice. It all adds to the lore and gives the world and its characters much more purpose. From top to bottom this is a must play and I am just glad that the stars aligned perfectly in order for this game to exist.… Expand

Being able to aim and move feels better than being stuck in the one spot. The scenery is so beautiful it is amazing how good they made it all look I found myself just taking in the surroundings and taking my time with each area the game engine has came a long way. All in all it is a great game so fun and definitely just like the original I really hope after this game they go to RE1 and remake it I would love for that to happen and see them do it right, Jill deserves better than re 3 (even though I say it’s a fine remake it’s not a great one the original was better) and I’d love to play as Chris’s but I think they’re have to try use the village model.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Resident Evil 4 Remake is definitely worth your time and money. It's one of the top games this year and best game to get right now and on par with the original in and Improves upon it in so many ways. Story: The story is pretty much the same as in the original but with a few new twists and turns there to keep you invested. It's a lot more well paced and crafted. A lot of characters have been improved and have more depth now, characters like Leon, Saddler, Krauser, Luis and Ashley have more in-depth characterization this time. There's a lot more lore also with the bosses and environments that gives the game more flavor and heart. The voice acting is great also everyone does an amazing job with their performances maybe except Ada Wong but everyone else sounds excellent. The dialogue is a lot more mature and sharper as well, I felt like in the original it was kind of too goofy with the dialogue but in this game the goofiness is there but it's balanced out by the more serious moments and it's a great balance overall.


    Gameplay: Instead of standing in place and shooting, in the more modern Resident Evils and Remakes you're able to move and shoot which makes gameplay more smoother and modern. This game has a lot of emphasis in action but it's also a horror game. Action Horror is what I can describe the remake and that's how it was in the original as well. You still have to worry about health and ammo and many situations just like classic Resident Evil also looking for key items and treasures. The Merchant is back but this time has side missions for you to do and complete, what I love about the side missions is it doesn't take too long to do and there all really fun to do especially fighting the side bosses. The Merchant sells items and weapons to you, a lot of the weaponry is back along with some new ones too to experiment with and a crafting system that comes back from Resident Evil 8. Gameplay is a lot more smoother and experimental. It's a lot more balanced and every weapon has a punch to it, none of the weapons feel like a dud and every single gun shines in there own way there's a lot of guns in the game to pick and choose as a favorite and I love that it gives you more options. The game is 15 hours long and it's completely worth it. Every minute and hour is not wasted in this game, there's content all around you in this. All of the bosses are here too with the exception of one boss cut from the game which was U3 and two areas from the castle aren't here but it absolutely does not compromise the greatness of this game and the world they built, if they anything it flows a lot better with out them and they replace those areas with new areas and I really love that about this remake.


    Graphics: This game is gonna look great regardless if your own PS4, PS5 or Xbox. The graphics are insane in this game with a lot of details and little things that will catch your eye. The areas are incredible and the architecture is impeccable. Everything is so realized and feels just like classic Resident Evil 4.


    The verdict: This game is worth every penny. Capcom put a lot of soul and care into this game. Resident Evil 4 Remake is an astonishing achievement that should be played and enjoyed by everyone. I'm on my 10th playthrough of this game l just unlocked all the guns and now just playing through the game with all my favorite weapons. This game is insanely replayable just like the original with treasures and optional puzzles to find, weapons to experiment with and outfits to make yourself more goofy. This game is a masterpiece.     Resident Evil is a franchise I never expected to like, horror wasn’t my thing until a few years ago, but ironically thanks to a certain pandemic I finally sat down with the RE2 & RE3 remakes & fell in LOVE. This was my first experience with RE4 & I’m so glad I finally experienced the magic this & the original have. The amount of love & care put into this game is so rare to find nowadays,Resident Evil is a franchise I never expected to like, horror wasn’t my thing until a few years ago, but ironically thanks to a certain pandemic I finally sat down with the RE2 & RE3 remakes & fell in LOVE. This was my first experience with RE4 & I’m so glad I finally experienced the magic this & the original have. The amount of love & care put into this game is so rare to find nowadays, this crazy win streak from Capcom since 2017 NEEDS to be studied in universities! Also screw GameStop for canceling my collectors edition pre-order 2 weeks before the game came out.
    Nearly everything in this game is perfect, it has the best combat in the series by a mile even if I miss Jill’s dodge rolls, but we get a new parry system that feels so good to use. This game is tougher than previous entries even on lower difficulty settings but it never felt unfair, THAT is great game design. The music was amazing & atmospheric, speaking of atmosphere this game isn’t as spooky as RE2, but I found it spookier than RE3. The Verdugo fight in the cryo tunnels made me pause the game & wait for my partner to get home so I could muster the courage to keep playing. I haven’t been that tweaked out at something since Village’s DLC with the mannequins! The boss fights were AWESOME too! I love the cheesy humor in these games, plus almost all of the characters were memorably remade as well. I also really loved how long the campaign could be if you wanted to do everything.
    If I had to nitpick, some of the puzzles weren’t the best. A couple flat out just annoyed me. I wasn’t as invested in the story as I wanted to be as much as I LOVE Leon & would name my first born after him. It was a great narrative don't get me wrong, I just prefer the original trilogy’s overarching story to 4, 5 & 6’s stories. I know it’s an easy target and it was vastly improved upon in this remake but I didn’t like escorting Ashley around. The only times I got game overs was because there was an adjustment period of getting used to escorting her. After getting used to her being around it was still stressful but that’s intentionally by design. I’m also usually not into side modes, so I bounced off of Mercenaries mode after having a little fun with Krauser for an hour or so. I weirdly preferred Village’s merc mode (mostly because I can play as the tall vampire lady in that).
    I’m so happy this game is as wildly successful as it is, I want to jump back in for a campaign replay but I’ll wait for the Separate Ways DLC, which I’m manifesting everyday. It’s gonna be tough to dethrone RE4 from my game of the year spot!    … Expand

    Resident Evil 4 Remake is an absolute delight. Veterans of the original will love the changes and newcomers can now appreciate just how good this game actually is. Capcom continues the trend of keeping the series fresh in our minds. I cannot wait for the next new entry as well as what remake they do next. Almost guaranteed we will see RE5 next, but Capcom please listen to your fans and give us that Code Veronica remake we so rightly desire. Regardless, fans of the series are eating so good right now.
