In spite of its few shortcomings, Minecraft Legends is still a bold and exciting new direction for a franchise that continues to stand the test of time. It's a game that understands why Minecraft is so compelling in the first place and then twists those elements into an action strategy experience that can be hard to put down. Its only missteps come from its limited scope and how it leaves players wanting more because its core gameplay loop is so good. Minecraft Legends is approachable, captivating, and just a really good time.

Minecraft Legends is a whole new world, fun and entertaining to say the least. It has enough elements to give us hours and hours of entertainment and its multiplayer mode is the best extra fun possible.

There's a ton of fun packed into Minecraft Legends and it certainly takes a long time to understand how it all works together but once you get over that hump, you'll end up having a wonderful time making delicious bacon out of those dastardly piglins.

MineCraft Legends is like playing Age of Empire but from a villager's point of view and more focused on direct action. The game combines strategy, tower defense, management and construction in a fun and layered way. Although some of the mechanics have been simplified and the game can be a bit overwhelming. However, it manages to keep the player interested by figuring out ways to improve our tools.

While the tactical options are more limited when playing solo, Minecraft Legends is a blast to play. Pick it up if you are a Minecraft fan or if you just want to have fun playing a chill game with a friend.

It's worth keeping an eye on, especially for those who are high followers of Pikmin-style titles, which are enjoyable as long as they are played with their respective pause. And as I mentioned, it may even be to the taste of those who are not really interested in the Minecraft that we have known all our lives.

This quaint little strategy title brings the best of Minecraft's family-friendly tone to bear, with some lovely visuals to boot. It's not wildly complex, but is perfect for those looking to enjoy Minecraft's vibe in a new genre.

Minecraft Legends is a proper strategy game, despite the friendly look. Scratching the surface will show a surprising amount of depth and whilst hardcore RTS players may sneer, it brings a ton of fun to the table.

I had fun playing Minecraft Legends, but there are some aspects of the game that could be improved. The overworld is really large and really gorgeous in a Minecraft voxel kind of way, but it’s largely empty of anything more interesting than resources. I wish there was more to discover on long rides into the wilderness, but once I had reached all of the main locations I pretty much relied exclusively on fast travel. The assaults on the Piglin bases are fun, but as you make your way further into the campaign some of the sieges turn into grind fests. It would help if the siege weapons worked automatically, but you have to man them and manually aim their attacks – and then they have a cooldown period. Trying to monitor Piglins attacks while you’re aligning distant shots on structures, and then the need to check to see when the weapons are ready again is a constant distraction. Your enjoyment of Legends will depend a bit on how you enjoy playing Minecraft, as well as where on the RTS spectrum from noob to leet you fall. As for me, I’ve played a lot of Minecraft in many different ways and RTS games since the original StarCraft, and I found myself enjoying Legends.

The visuals are amazing, the game is simple and it has a heart, that I can say about Minecraft Legends. There are things that could’ve been done better and it’s not as complex as the Civilization games – or any strategy game for that matter – but Mojang and Blackbird Interactive get my respect for venturing off into the unknown and finding a treasure like this.

Minecraft Legends combines light Minecraft elements with action-strategy gameplay. The game feels more geared towards a younger audience, which is reflected in its simplified mechanics and overall atmosphere. However, there is plenty to enjoy here for players of all ages, especially for those who are looking for a little more Minecraft love.

Minecraft Legends is an accessible and easy to master RTS, capable of delivering many hours of enjoyment to every kind of player. Something more could have been done for content variety and to strengthen the plot, but it remains a game that both veterans and newbies to the RTS genre should try.

Online co-op is a fun diversion but it’s the game’s PvP that will offer you the variety needed to keep you coming back for more.

That could be because it was essentially a very fined tuned and comfortable RTS experience, but plenty of Minecraft charm is still found throughout the campaign. It pushes your knowledge of the systems and strategy during the later levels and is likely not for younger fans, but I enjoyed the challenge and expanded lore of this series.

Minecraft Legends is a genuinely impressive RTS effort that has the potential to convert Minecraft fans into enthusiasts of the genre. Although it's not always a seamless blend, most of its issues can be resolved through understanding and patience.

An interesting story, fairly good gameplay, and excellent graphics make Minecraft Legends a good option for those looking for a different adventure within the Minecraft universe. If you have to take into account that this title may not be for all audiences, since the point of strategy in real time completely changes the game experience.

Despite that, Minecraft Legends is a wonderful collection of genres that makes the usual RTS skill ceiling lower and approachable. Being a Minecraft game, Legends is set up for additional levels and scenarios via the Myths and Legends option at the main menu, which means the developers have plans to have fans continue mopping up Piglins for the foreseeable future. There are some fun and uniquely ‘Minecraft’ strategies to pull off in multiplayer, I just wish the campaign held the same appeal to me; while its not awful it’s just the tutorial for the multiplayer game to me.
