    The good:
    An interesting mix of Sunset Overdrive, Jet Set Radio, rhythm game and Generator Rex (a cartoon that also had its game on Xbox 360). Characters with excessive charisma. It is very reminiscent of the Sunset Overdrive expansion where you face mechs and robots. It is irreverent, unexpected, entertaining. Colorful graphics. It has a Crackdown mechanic where you have to defeat the    The good:
    An interesting mix of Sunset Overdrive, Jet Set Radio, rhythm game and Generator Rex (a cartoon that also had its game on Xbox 360). Characters with excessive charisma. It is very reminiscent of the Sunset Overdrive expansion where you face mechs and robots. It is irreverent, unexpected, entertaining. Colorful graphics. It has a Crackdown mechanic where you have to defeat the landlords to go to the end and they drop more and more fierce and powerful enemies, before seeing the final boss (also very similar to Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis mode). Various game modes included in the main game, rhythm game, imitate patterns, 2D platformer, time attack. It's on Xbox Game Pass so get into it without fear.

    The bad:
    Small frame drops (they don't worsen the gaming experience and maybe they'll be fixed with a patch). It's a festival of Cartoon and anime clichés (breaking the fourth wall, script armor, moments of grief, you can't take it seriously even though the characters take it solemnly). Very short (I'm hoping for some expansion to continue expanding the experience. If you don't like Japanese, it's not a game for you.

    Lo Meh!:
    Sega has always been asked for a sequel to Jet Ser Radio Future (Original Xbox) or Sunset Overdrive 2 (before Sony bought Insomniac) and it's good that it came from Tango Games and Shinji Mikami. By the way, many forget that Shinji Mikami and his team had already surprised us with Beautiful Joe before, so I don't understand the complaints.    … Expand

    I can't remember the last time I played a game with this much love poured into it.

    Humor is one of the points to consider, it may not suit everyone but it definitely puts you in the position of wanting to play more and more to understand what each character wants and why they are there. The protagonist is the typical hyperactive and young boy who doesn't stop throwing comments all the time, almost as if you were using the sarcastic option in every line while playing Fallout 4.

    In summary Hi-Fi Rush is the most pleasant surprise of the year, I've never seen it happen before, a surprise release and without any exuberant and impossible promises, just down to earth, a game that is not afraid to be a game, without a movie, no father-son drama with arc and post apocalyptic world, just GAME.    … Expand

    The dialogues are a bit silly, but they match the art-style of the game.
    Fighting on the timing of the beat is an interesting idea especially as you unlock new combos and abilities.
    It's not an open world game, but I think the gaming industry needs more games like this, because the open world template became a bit overused.

    Bets rhythm game I have every played. You know it’s gonna kick ass when Lonely Boy by the Black keys is the intro. I would say I’m not great at keeping rhythm and I had a blast. Characters are fun AF and really tailors to how you wanna play. Def need a sequel to this!

    A very addictive game with a great method of accentuating your play if your able to keep time with the beat while you beat up the baddies. And even if you can't grasp the rhythmic nature of the game play you can still have a good time beating up baddies. Fun time!

    One of the best Xbox/Bethesda and tango gameworks in the beginning of 2023, it really came out of nowhere during Xbox developer direct. I am shocked at how good this game is even though I am not a fan of rhythm games this really caught my attention because the quality is so well done and it reminds me of devil may cry and sunset overdrive together.

    Just amazing! The artstyle, the mechanics, level design, the music (obviously), and even with the story not being very complex, the characters are special enough to make this, one incredible game. Give it a chance, I am almost sure you're not going to be dissapointed :^)

This is the case even when you're super in rhythm and playing the game it's meant to be played. Of course, it's far worse when you're off-beat. I was also disappointed in the lack of variety in terms of environments & levels. A lot of it feels relatively samey. I did absolutely appreciate the enemy variety, though.

    Muy buen juego. No le doy el 10 por que todavia no lo terminé, pero avance bastante, mejore los combos, le encontre el ritmo, y he soltado mas de una risa con los dialogos, y las bromas. Simplemente Bethesda/Xbox
    Y el hecho de que lo hayan anunciado el msimo día de lanzamiento fue una jugada maestra para evadir el fuego enemigo, que es muy claro de donde viene.

    Algo fresco divertido y entretenido que al final es lo que tiene que ser un juego,
    No será un super triple A pero Hifi rush demuestra que con menos presupuesto si se trabaja bien salen joyas como esta.

    Este jogo se tornou um dos meus jogos exclusivos favoritos do xbox series X/S.

    Not the type of game that would generally appeal to me, but this is really good. A fresh take on a couple genres, with great gameplay, art and humor. Stupid yet likable lead character is cool. Dialogue is hit and miss but mostly lands. Breaks the fourth wall but not overly so. I’d buy it physically if I could.

Iv played other rhythm games but didn't get on with them to well. This game at times, blows my mind. It reminds me of when I was younger and used to smile and laugh a lot. This game is great. WhyHi.     Great game. Runs well, cool visuals and art style, and the music keeps you going. I like the 2D and obstacle sections that break up the game play.

    My only issue is when the game forces you to play a certain way. It doesn't happen often but it's there.

    most of your enjoyment depends on how much you enjoy music and how well the jokes land for you, and score based off that (i think) could vary from a 5 to a 9.5 with most people likely being at an 8-8.5 personally, sit on the high end of this joke, some of the jokes are seriously funny (my opinion) while others are a little cringe. other stuff i thought: the gameplay starts slow and simple,most of your enjoyment depends on how much you enjoy music and how well the jokes land for you, and score based off that (i think) could vary from a 5 to a 9.5 with most people likely being at an 8-8.5 personally, sit on the high end of this joke, some of the jokes are seriously funny (my opinion) while others are a little cringe. other stuff i thought: the gameplay starts slow and simple, feeling slightly repetitive to start, but you very quickly start gaining more and more abilities and have to deal with harder, complex enemies. I really like the futuristic anime style, though i understand those who don't.

Divertida historia y animación, gran mezcla entre juego de combate cuerpo a cuerpo con manejo de plataformas. El tema de intentar golpear con el tempo es adictivo y desafiante. Jugué a Metal hellsinger y me generó cosas parecidas, pero este es más ... amigable en ese sentido.Seguramente vuelva cuando lo termine para dar la nota definitiva. Por ahora un 9 que se lo lleva sin despeinarse. Divertida historia y animación, gran mezcla entre juego de combate cuerpo a cuerpo con manejo de plataformas. Yo agregaria un código a la página que borraría reseñas que estén 5 puntos por debajo del promedio y 3 por encima del promedio. De esta forma, todos los juegos iniciarían con un 5, ya que si fue lanzado, va a estar por este promedio, y partiendo de ahí no se podrá poner 0 o 2 o 3, mientras podran poner 8 eh irPi..pe..ro!!! Hi-Fi Rush is a rhythm based character action game, the type and style of game that has kind of fallen by the wayside and you would of definitely found on the PS2 or the Gamecube.
    The game, its action, and its environments are all moving and in sync the beat of the music. While the music changes between levels and events it is always staying on the same simple beat. The game is more forgiving than typical rhythm games as everything still happens on the beat whether you miss it or not but you get bonuses the closer you press on the beat. I was struggling with these aspects until maybe the 4th level when you get the parry ability and it all kind of came around for me. It is extremely satisfying to land perfect attacks, dodges, and parries all of which are beautifully animated.
    The cel-shaded graphics are absolutely perfectly displayed and animated here. All the colors, characters, and animations are absolutely popping on the screen. It is simply one of the better and more pleasing games to look at over the last few years.
    The story and characters are also a strongpoint of the game. Chai, the main character, is an endless fountain of positivity which shines through and over powers his kind of stupid and simple nature. The side characters and corporate bosses are all perfectly set to bounce off of Chai and wonderfully voice acted.
    The only real issues is the required quick time events which can be challenging and break up the perfect flow of the game.    … Expand

O diretor John Johanas revelou em um podcast que o estúdio começou a trabalhar no game desde 2017 e disse também quais foram as inspirações para o jogo.

    O jogo traz um estilo bem diferente dos que estamos acostumados a ver hoje em dia. Ele está mais puxado para um estilo cartoon de HQ. Uma das inspirações para Hi-Fi Rush foram os jogos da era Xbox, PlayStation 2 e Dreamcast, que eram "muito coloridos, claros e divertidos"

    Jogabilidade / gameplay – (ótima)
    O jogo traz uma proposta diferente de gameplay. Toda a jogabilidade é baseada em ritmo, ou seja, absolutamente tudo que se movimenta no jogo, incluindo combates, dashs e combos, é ritmado ou se preferir, acompanha a batida da música.

    Trilha sonora – (ótima)
    A trilha sonora do jogo é um show a parte e na minha visão foi algo pensado com muito cuidado e carinho. Para começar, o jogo conta com repertórios conhecidos, mas, aí vem a parte que me chamou a atenção: existe um “modo streamer”! Como ele funciona, basicamente é se você for fazer live do jogo, quando ativado, o jogo traz músicas originais do jogo, ou seja, a chance de o canal levar algum direito autoral é bem pequeno.

    Hi-Fi RUSH is a phenomenal game. The year is still young, but this could be a potential GOTY nominee when it's all said and done. The combat feels immaculate, the art style is charming as all get out, and the main cast of characters is endearing. My only main gripe is that the platforming, while certainly fun, isn't as precise as I'd like it to be.

    Great game, love this type of artwork in games. Come on Sega the time is right for a rework and updated version of Jet Set Radio. As for Rush if you haven’t played yet you are missing out on a great title. Great soundtrack, excellent idea of following the beat through battles and humour to boot. Nice one MS Studios welcome back it’s been a while.

    My initial reaction wasn't great but having played through 3 times now I'm obviously enjoying this game. Fior a suprise launch its holding up really well even against recent AAA games. TangoGameworks outdid themselves.

    This is a bright and vibrant game that is really fun to play. I never was a fan of beat style games but this one really has my attention. Kudos to Xbox for shadow dropping this on the community. I got a sense the zero scores are from the Sony Pony fans.

    Really great game, you can tell it was made with love and dedication. The animations, cutscenes and transitions are second to none. The world feels alive, full of little surprises at every corner. The game just feels good to play and will put you in a good mood every time you put in a session.     When I first saw HiFi Rush, my first impression was 'a cartoon with Metal Hellsinger gameplay', .and while it'd be easy to generalise it that way, HiFiRush delves much, much deeper. Starting with the looks, sure it's cartoon'y, almost anime like, but the quality, fluidity and overall presentation is on par with the best animated movies you could think of, There's a reason so manyWhen I first saw HiFi Rush, my first impression was 'a cartoon with Metal Hellsinger gameplay', .and while it'd be easy to generalise it that way, HiFiRush delves much, much deeper. Starting with the looks, sure it's cartoon'y, almost anime like, but the quality, fluidity and overall presentation is on par with the best animated movies you could think of, There's a reason so many screenshots look so good, because in action, even in action-packed sections, it looks this good all the time. As for gameplay, the "metal Hellsinger" vibes put me off at first glance but that changed as soon as I picked up the controller. Sure enjoyed Hellsinger, but I found the rhythm based gameplay punishing and annoying..
    With Hifi Rush, is completely different, Sire my score might take a hit, but I never felt punished by missing a combo, it was rewarding when I did, and Id try my best, but if you missed one, you where still doing some decent damage. Add to this that the entire world is literally vibing, signs in the background, your companion 808, items nearby, the constant visual beat makes that rhythym easier to accomplish, even with the sound turned down. You certainly won't want to turn that sound down as there's some great music, mostly capped off with the boss fights and some fantastic licensed tracks.

    It's usually tough to review a GamePass game, because the value of Gamepass conflicts with the value of the overall game, but at only £29.99 it's fantastic value even at full price, It's a bald statement but HiFi Rush is considerably better than most games that cost twice as much.

    If you have gamepass, there's no reason at all you should be reading this review trying to work out if it's actually "that good", Just download it now, you won't be dissapointed.    … Expand

    When I first saw the game trailer I thought this was gonna be a remake of Viewtiful Joe from the GameCube days. Then it took a bit of a turn and I thought it was gonna be a cringey game. I’ve played it and it’s been super fun so far. Would recommend anybody to try it

    Incredible game, pure fun. Mix between Brutal Legend and Sunset overdrive, platforming/jumping is hit or miss but overall its has very polished gameplay and mechanics, I recommend it.

    This game is awesome! I absolutely loved it start to finish, I've really never played anything like it before. It's got style, great gameplay, visuals, soundtrack. All top notch stuff. There were some things combat wise that were gonna nock a few points but even those problems ended up becoming a positive once they became a part of my natural flow in combat.

    This shadow drop of a rhythm hack and slash is sooo good. Chai and 808 together is awesome. The only thing I wish this game had was a button were we run. Other then that the music The visuals and the graphics on series x are awesome!

    In a world full of AAA games whit astonishing graphics, with bad writing. This game is such a fresh air to breath.
    Narrative is good. The humor is very well implemented. Love the comic aesthetic. Reminds me of a game i played when I was a kid, Donald duck PK. It's easy to keep the rhythm in battles. At least in normal difficulty mode. The game is polished at launch.    Amazing game!

    I enjoyed this game so much, the comic graphics are great, the gameplay with the rythm of the music, is even better, the unique bad thing(for me) is the number of bosses, they are the best part of the game, but the game only have a few of they, i'll be great if the game have like five more

    Truly brilliant game, especially considering that it was a shadow drop. Takes me back to my childhood, while at the same time feeling fresh and innovative. We need more first-party games like this for both the major consoles.

    It’s a hack and slash with a combination of platforming for the whole family. From the start, its presentation, its plot and even its controls say it all. Its playtime is perfect, and you can play it as many times as you want. However, the button-matching stages can be tedious if you struggle to keep up, as well as a couple of bosses whose mechanics are unclear during the battle. Otherwise, Hi-Fi Rush is just flawless.

    What you will remember about Hi-Fi Rush is just how charming it is. It’s so rare for a game from one of the major developers to take a creative risk, and Hi-Fi Rush does just that. Not only is the core of the game innovative, but the way each character is written takes a big risk of having people switch off before they develop and you grow to love them. I hope Hi-Fi Rush is incredibly successful. I hope it teaches the industry that creative innovation can also create profits, and we see more new and interesting ideas from the big boys in the future.
