    I was initially really excited for this game but after playing for 8 hours the gameplay started to feel stale and just plain boring to me. I tried to like the game but the combat felt really repetitive, even though the game is hyped up for its rhythm-based combat, it's not as much of a rhythm game. Overall the game felt clunky and at times gimmicky, plus the story and the character are tooI was initially really excited for this game but after playing for 8 hours the gameplay started to feel stale and just plain boring to me.     Jogo excelente, uma surpresa totalmente inesperada da Tango para os jogadores. Um jogo de ritmo muito bonito e empolgante. Parabéns Tango e obrigado por fazer Hifi Rush.

    I'm going to get the bad out of the way first. I know the game is a rhythm-based combat game but I think the game would be better without it. I'm thinking this game could have played like a colorful cartoony version of God of War and it would have    I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Hi-Fi Rush. It was something that Xbox needed to alleviate the drought of great exclusive Xbox games.

    I'm going to get the bad out of the way first. I know the game is a rhythm-based combat game but I think the game would be better without it. I'm thinking this game could have played like a colorful cartoony version of God of War and it would have been fine. I say this because the game does not rely heavily on its musically combat to carry. Sure, you deal more damage when your attacks land on beat, but the timing is often generous and did not seem to make a lot of difference, as least on normal difficulty. I suspect the timing of your attacks will likely be more pertinent if you were to play on the harder difficulties.

    However, I also think when you must land an attack on beat is when the game is the most frustrating. You will need to "mimic" certain enemy attacks to parry them and you cannot screw up without having to start the rhythm-session over. Usually, these mechanics are locked to quick time events but the timing and sometimes pace of them are brutal. It's like having to start a song in Guitar Hero all over again if you miss a note.

    Besides this, the game is a lot of fun. Like I said, it doesn't feel necessary, but when you are landing attacks on beat, the combat is satisfying. There are plenty of visual and audio cues that aid this.

    The game is also pretty funny. It is not rated R, or even PG-13, but I liken to humor to that of your favorite SpongeBob episode. It has this great, Saturday morning cartoon vibe to it that is enjoyable.

    Lastly, the sound track is great too. I even looked up some of the OST on YouTube after I completed the game. It truly does make for great background music.    … Expand

    Came out of nowhere and was a good time. Great work from Tango! I'd recommend this to anyone interested in a rhythm typed games

    I tried it because I wanted to see what the hype was about, so here is my review thinking it was the same as metal hellsinger, but sadly it is not, the game itself has good graphics that is all that it has. The button are too simple after finishing it l basically wasted my time, giving it a one score is too generous. Maybe it's for other people because this was not my taste.

    One of the most fun and original games I've played in a very long time. Almost like Parappa the Rapper meets Ratchet and Clank. From the start, the smooth animation pulls you into the story right away. It's actually like watching a really good anime, and I don't even like anime. You're an aspiring rockstar who, thanks to some unfortunate events, is now on the run. These events also imbueOne of the most fun and original games I've played in a very long time. Almost like Parappa the Rapper meets Ratchet and Clank. From the start, the smooth animation pulls you into the story right away. It's actually like watching a really good anime, and I don't even like anime. You're an aspiring rockstar who, thanks to some unfortunate events, is now on the run. These events also imbue you with some new rhythm based abilities to help you along the way. Combat is rhythm based, well rhythm "encouraged" because you can play how you want, but things go a lot easier if you're on the beat. Speaking of rhythm, the soundtrack is amazing with songs from bands like NIN and The Black Keys. I highly recommend checking this one out. It's a ton of fun (you'll actually be dancing as you're playing it). It's currently on Game Pass and you've probably never played anything quite like it .… Expand

    This type of character design has been done before too much already, please leave the 80s behind already. We need to move forward with more character development and need more new game mechanics that is not borrowed from Sunset Overdrive or Jetset radio. This is boring . It is time to push the envelope in character design , narration, and play mechanics.

    Ich kann den Hype durch die Xbox-Fanboy-Brille absolut nicht verstehen. HIFI-Rush besticht durch langweiliges Gameplay. Die Charaktere sind total lieblos. Kämpfe wiederholen sich immer wieder. Am Anfang noch interessant aber nach 20 Minuten ist man schon davon genervt

    This game is overhyped to an extreme. No original ideas, bad gameplay, everything feels like a QTE, bad story, characters are weak and one-dimensional, stuttering issues, doesn’t allow for diversity in gameplay, shallow exploration, no lock-on in a third person action game. Just avoid this game.

    This is Xbox’s real turning point for Bethesda and it came in a fantastic way. Art style reminds me of certain Cartoon Network shows, gameplay being a platformer like Mario and Sonic, overall, the only Xbox exclusive I can give a damn about on the Series X.

    Algo fresco divertido y entretenido que al final es lo que tiene que ser un juego,
    No será un super triple A pero Hifi rush demuestra que con menos presupuesto si se trabaja bien salen joyas como esta.
    Recomendable 100%.

    A true joy. It has fun kinetic combat, along with great hart and humour in it's story right until the end. It is also the perfect length, something that is all to rare now. The only downside is that this for me was the final straw in considering PCGamer reviews still credible :(

    I partly enjoyed my time with Hi Fi Rush but the lack of enemy variety, uninspired dialogue (especially the robots), stale text logs that attempt to build up this dystopian-lite world, and too similar environments make it an overall bad experience. I beat the first boss fight thinking, “Hey that was kinda fun!” but then it went right back to the unbearable snarky meta humor that isI partly enjoyed my time with Hi Fi Rush but the lack of enemy variety, uninspired dialogue (especially the robots), stale text logs that attempt to build up this dystopian-lite world, and too similar environments make it an overall bad experience.     I have giving more time than i normally give to a game that is just terrible but this game got such hype I tried to find why and i've found a game that gives one no reason to continue past the opening couple mins. El juego comienza con la participación de Chai en el "Proyecto Armstrong", en el que su corazon se fusiona con su reproductor de música yDesarrollado por Tango Gameworks y publicado por Bethesda Softworks, Hi-Fi RUSH es un juego de acción y ritmo para un jugador en donde tomarás el mando de Chai, protagonista de este juego que es sumamente carismático, divertido, colorido y emocionante. El juego comienza con la participación de Chai en el "Proyecto Armstrong", en el que su corazon se fusiona con su reproductor de música y también recibe un brazo metálico. Al fusionarse con el reproductor de música, Chai se sincroniza con el ritmo de cada canción. Los enemigos y el ambiente también están sincronizados con la música. Chai unirá fuerzas con diferentes personajes para luchar en contra de los distintos departamentos y cada uno de los jefes asociados a los respectivos departamentos y así detener al CEO Kale Vandelay y la compañía Vandelay Technologies.

    El combate es bastante básico pero entretenido. Tienes ataques livianos, ataques pesados, ataques brincando, ataques especiales, puedes esquivar ataques , y también mezclar tus ataques usando a tus aliados. Podrás comprar nuevos ataques especiales/habilidades y combos para Chai y sus compañeros, con Gears (engranajes). Consigues gears derrotando enemigos, encontrándolos por el mundo y completando desafíos. Pero eso no es todo. Podrás comprar circuitos, fichas y ropa (después de terminar el juego) para Chai y otros personajes. Mientras vas jugando, encontrarás distintos robots y variantes. Cada uno con su distinta forma de atacar y derrotar.

    Los jefes de cada departamento son sumamente distintos y las batallas son diferentes a la anterior. Son memorables, entretenidas y algunas hasta graciosas.

    El juego cuenta con accesibilidad, como por ejemplo: incrementar el tamaño de letra en el interfaz de usuario, subtitulos de contexto, modo auto-acción, entre otras cosas. No quiero entrar en "spoilers" so, no hablaré de la historia. Pero les puedo decir que el juego es una joya. Mientras lo jugaba, me sentía que estaba jugando un video juego del Dreamcast.

    Amazing game! I loved the art style, all plenty memorable characters, and the gameplay was fresh. Overall the game was a great departure from the same AAA games that have been coming out. The rhythm was fun and the soundtrack was pretty darn great through and through. I recommend trying this game. I may buy it just to help support the devs. PS.     This game lives up to the hype. The world concept and art are some of the best I've seen in a decade, and the performance optimization is nothing short of miraculous for a startup company founded to make this game. The gameplay is also a well rounded FPS action game that is reliably fun.

    Amazing game in basically every aspect and while its a rhythm game a genre im awful at I find that this game found the perfect difficulty for being challenging but not overly tedious for me

    it feels like a mix of Sunset Overdrive, Jet Set Radio and Generator Rex all packed into a Rhythm game so if you like any of those games you will probably enjoy this game

Hi-Fi Rush is a rhythm based character action game, the type and style of game that has kind of fallen by the wayside and you would of definitely found on the PS2 or the Gamecube.
    The game, its action, and its environments are all moving and in sync the beat of the music. While the music changes between levels and events it is always staying on the same simple beat. The game is more forgiving than typical rhythm games as everything still happens on the beat whether you miss it or not but you get bonuses the closer you press on the beat. I was struggling with these aspects until maybe the 4th level when you get the parry ability and it all kind of came around for me. It is extremely satisfying to land perfect attacks, dodges, and parries all of which are beautifully animated.
    The cel-shaded graphics are absolutely perfectly displayed and animated here. All the colors, characters, and animations are absolutely popping on the screen. It is simply one of the better and more pleasing games to look at over the last few years.
    The story and characters are also a strongpoint of the game. Chai, the main character, is an endless fountain of positivity which shines through and over powers his kind of stupid and simple nature. The side characters and corporate bosses are all perfectly set to bounce off of Chai and wonderfully voice acted.
    The only real issues is the required quick time events which can be challenging and break up the perfect flow of the game.    … Expand

    El joc és increïble, de principi a fi. No soc fan dels jocs ritmicos, però aquest m'ha enganxat moltíssim, els gràfics són molt bons per a ser d'estil anime-comic. Les bromes i el doblatge més del mateix, el recomane a tothom.

    Chulada de juego, me sorprendió pensé que sería un Hack And Slash simple qué ignorara la historia, cuando vi el trailer te da un vistazo pero ala vez lo sentía genérico con el añadido destacable qué era rítmico, pero vaya sorpresa qué me lleve vale mucho la pena y más esta do en game pass, fue buena sorpresa.

    Historia muy buena, humor sublime y siempre en los momentos adecuados, drama muy poco pero justo en los momentos que debe de haberlo, soundtrack uff lo más destacable música única del juego, todas se adecuan a la ocasión, gameplay precioso, sin duda uno de los mejores juegos de este año es tan único, y no flaquea por ningún lado en todos los aspectos cumple, y el estilo artístico muy hermoso y te invita a la rejugabilidad la cual no te sientes obligado hacerlo pues el juego motiva sin presiones y nuevas cosas que añaden, sin duda espero en un tiempo volver a jugarlo, tengo un muy buen sabor de boca con el final y mejor espero a que pase tiempo y rejugarlo para conseguir el 100%.     Generell gefällt mir die Grafik sehr gut und ist stimmig. Beim Durchspielen keinerlei Bugs bemerkt...so fehlerlos sollten alle Spiele sein! Iv played other rhythm games but didn't get on with them to well. This game at times, blows my mind. It reminds me of when I was younger and used to smile and laugh a lot. This game is great. WhyHi.     The best praise I can give this game is that it feels SEGA AF! It's like something that was ripped from the genesis or dreamcast and made it to modern consoles. Everything from the "almost too busy" colorful visuals, the high scores, the humor, the music. I felt like I was back playing earthworm jim or crazy taxi after school with some dunkaroos.

It sorta ended up being what I already expected, with a few surprises along the way.

    This game is downright gorgeous! The animations, vibrant colors, cutscenes, character design and even the visual cues were amazing. It makes you feel comfortable to play, while doing it all in style. The level design is also quite amazing. At times I loved the platforming moments, little puzzles and just traversing through areas way more interesting than the battle system.

    Unfortunately, the story and writing are very dumb and obvious. I know that its silliness can actually be intentional, but I just couldn't do it with the dialogue and the lack of development on the plot and its characters. I loved the presentation and the cast/villains were quite charming, but I couldn't care for them. Honestly, the worst aspect of the game.

    But the real deal here is the combat. A weird mix between Devil May Cry and, I don't know, Guitar Hero, I guess. For me, it worked. Not always, but it did work. It took a long time to click, but it was fun when it did. The thing that bothered me the most was that, sometimes, it didn't really feel like I was doing combos on the beat when I KNEW that I was. And yes, I checked and tweaked things in the options menu. Also, sometimes I was more focused on the beat than in actually moving forward. It's very strange, but there is beauty in it.

    The bosses were hilights for me, the enemy variety is interesting but sort of lacking (some of them, like the bird and the samurai, are annoying as hell), the environments look very good but are somewhat repetitive and combos were cool to pull off but buying them on the store didn't seem to shake up the combat that much.

    One other thing that was a bit of a hit or miss for me was the music. I think that's what kept me from enjoying this game more. The licensed music is great. I never thought I'd actually fight a video game boss to the sound of NIN, Number Girl and even a Flaming Lips cover. That was amazing.

    As for the original music? It was bland and forgettable. And for a game that puts music as the forefront of its design, it needed to be awesome.

    Hi-Fi Rush is not my type of game, but it's a fun experience, for sure! I liked how entertaining, charming, imaginative and technical it is, but I did not fall in love with its cast, story, world and, most importantly, music.

    Amazing game that came out of nowhere! Hands down best game of 2023 so far. The attention to detail is refreshing. Gives me Persona 5 vibes. The story is great, animation is superb, and it keeps throwing new things and surprises at you so you never feel like you are doing the same thing over and over.

    I swear if you want to experience the game differently, try playing it on Japanese dub coz it's so good! The voice actors that they cast are not just any other VA. It's like watching an anime! Like for instance, Kale (the last boss), his Japanese voice is played by Takehito Koyasu who is well known voice of Dio from jojo Bizarre.

    Definitely a good contender for the Game Of The Year. I spent hours of gaming and currently on a post-game completing it on rhythm master mode. The game is a masterpiece! I am not even a fan of these type of music but I ended up vibing with it. Specially the song from one of the bosses. Ugh! it is super good. The battle system is so unique and so badass. It would leave you feel good about yourself coz you're doing these combos easily. one of my favorites in the battle mode is the assist. In, fighting games like Marvel vs Capcom 2, Power Rangers, etc. Assist is one of important in combo and it gives additional flavor to it. I feel like they hit the spot on that. It feels so good when you are on over 100 hit combo doing assist and even have specials with your assist too!

    Even after finishing the game there's still a lot of things to do. There's a tower you can clear out, you can go back to previous levels to unlock some of the locked stages that you saw from your first run through, you can complete painting on the wall, etc.

    These are the reasons why I didn't give it a perfect 10:

    1. I wish we have an option to reset a boss fight from the very beginning. All bosses have at least 3 phases, and it acts like a check point. If you die in mid boss fight, you'd respawn on the last phase/check point. I kinda like it to have an option to start from the very beginning of the boss fight.

    2. Costumes are only accessible after finishing the game. It would've been better if customization (clothes) is accessible from your first run through. The character that let you customize is just standing in the hide out doing nothing.

    3. I kinda wish that we wouldn't need to finish the Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty if we've finished the game on Very Hard Mode for achievement.    … Expand

The game has made me laugh multiple times and the characters are amazing. Xbox has struck gold in a time where I was getting bored with triple A games they were occasionally bringing out.     I gave up on Metal Hellsinger because I suck at rhythm games. But this game is really forgiving in that regard and it still rewards you when you manage to get it right so I really appreciated it. Artstyle is gorgeous, liked the humor and the characters, platforming and finding more boxes to break etc., Boss fights were amazing. It was my go to game when I come home from work.

    Repellant characters are so insufferable that even good dynamics wouldn't help this game. I'm a drummer so I gravitate towards rhythm games, so the combat is OK. But there is so much awful dialogue from a character that seems like the 'heroic' version of the incel from high school who refused to shower.

    I tried to like it, I kept at it for 2 hours before I uninstalled.

    It’s a hack and slash with a combination of platforming for the whole family. From the start, its presentation, its plot and even its controls say it all. Its playtime is perfect, and you can play it as many times as you want. However, the button-matching stages can be tedious if you struggle to keep up, as well as a couple of bosses whose mechanics are unclear during the battle. Otherwise, Hi-Fi Rush is just flawless.

    What you will remember about Hi-Fi Rush is just how charming it is. It’s so rare for a game from one of the major developers to take a creative risk, and Hi-Fi Rush does just that. Not only is the core of the game innovative, but the way each character is written takes a big risk of having people switch off before they develop and you grow to love them. I hope Hi-Fi Rush is incredibly successful. I hope it teaches the industry that creative innovation can also create profits, and we see more new and interesting ideas from the big boys in the future.
