    The best race game that I ever played. This is a masterpiece.

    Forza Horizon 5 is one of the best Arcade racing game I have ever played, the fun of driving in Mexico. The great voice acting and wonderful experiences you come around with every turn. I just love how the vehicle’s can be explored from the inside to the motors, such wonderful details the game brings for any car lover. The missions are brilliant and keep you coming back for more. Forza isForza Horizon 5 is one of the best Arcade racing game I have ever played, the fun of driving in Mexico. The great voice acting and wonderful experiences you come around with every turn. I just love how the vehicle’s can be explored from the inside to the motors, such wonderful details the game brings for any car lover. The missions are brilliant and keep you coming back for more.     After playing this game for about 4 months, while the presentation, gameplay, and controls are great, I am disappointed by the sheer lack of content, poor progression system, poor post launch support from Microsoft and Playground games, and the egregious microtransactions and paid DLC for certain cars. The lack of content is clearly highlighted by the selection of cars that get rewarded toAfter playing this game for about 4 months, while the presentation, gameplay, and controls are great, I am disappointed by the sheer lack of content, poor progression system, poor post launch support from Microsoft and Playground games, and the egregious microtransactions and paid DLC for certain cars. The lack of content is clearly highlighted by the selection of cars that get rewarded to players, and these cars mostly consist of ones that are either already sold in the auto show, or taken out of the game after Horizon 4 and rebadged as “new” or “valueable” cars. On top of this, nearly 200 of the cars in Horizon 5 are locked behind paid DLC. And before anyone comes up with the “it’s on Game Pass” argument, you have to consider how progression works in the game. Right from the start, you are practically handed supercars with no challenge or progression in mind. In previous games, you had to work hard to earn these cars, and when you finally earned them, it felt far more rewarding. The credit system has gotten so hyperinflated that a million credits means practically nothing anymore.

    The music selection also sucks and pales in comparison to the earlier games. Spotify integration would have been nice.    … Expand

    If you haven't played a Forza Horizon game before but love the racing genre, then you must give this game a try.

    It has beautiful graphics, a way array of cars and it is fun. Seriously fun in a way that few modern games are. There is a sense of freedom and exploration that you simply don't get in other racing games, and there's tonnes of content here. So why the score of 7/10?     So why the score of 7/10?

    If you have played a Forza Horizon game before, there's little here that's new. Bugs persist even if they rarely ruin your game, and there generally seems to have been a lack of attention to detail. Compared to FH4, this game feels empty and monotonous - and generally just a bit bland after you've sunk a few hours into it.

    Cars are given out too freely, and wheelspins still offer far too many horns and clothing items that add nothing too the game.

    This isn't a bad game - not in any way - just one that suffers from a lack of innovation and far too much hype from the creators and gaming critics.    … Expand

    Forza has always been one of my favourite games, I've been playing since Forza 3. But it went downhill massively after Forza horizon 3. I think the biggest issue is wheelspins. The game gives you far too much for doing absolutely nothing, to the point, where there is literally no benefit to racing because you get next to no money from it. That is the biggest difference, Forza has now become this huge sandbox that any 4 year old, or grandparent can play with ease. Now, if I'm honest, this is still a really good game. The graphics are beautiful, there's plenty of content and online is great. But for me, I'm still salty about how much better it could be. It's hard to enjoy a game when there's no reward for playing it. If I don't log in for a few weeks, I load it up and I've been giving 14 cars, 6 super wheelspins, and god knows what else

    Rant over anyway, it's worth playing if you have gamepass regardless, if the Devs are reading this, PLEASE BRING BACK THE GRIND!    … Expand

    Greatest racing game ever, its a 10/10 in gameplay, game modes, content, graphics, cars lineup, simply has it all! Just made it to 300 hrs played and I feel like I'm getting started.

    Replayability. This game is never ending… in a good way. Mechanics are extremely fun and the graphics are out of this world. For something that is ‘just a racing game’, this game is one of the funnest and best games ive ever played. Always cars to collect and weekly and monthly things to do. Even if u arent a racing fan this game is a must play!

    It's a step down from FH4, map is boring, hot wheels dlc is weak. Only thing they did great are car sounds. For me after this much time game still has some graphical artifacts - no matter if it's set to ultra or extreme still same bugs. I regret purchasing premium edition. Definetly not worth the money.

    Very good arcade racing game and the best part for me is that you have tons of options on cars and even more on customizing them. Also it is very realistic as for the graphics and as for the physics and the customization of the cars

    It's a very greedy game. They put forza horizon 4 cars in the standard package, they put new cars in other packages. It's not worth getting a gamepass.

    I already thought Horizon 4 had a more fun map, but Horizon 5 is getting worse and worse. Now you can't even grind skillpoints and get wheelspins from cheap cars. Arcade is also much less fun than Forzathon Live. Weekly challenges require rather specific cars, which is unnecessarily difficult to do. It shouldn't be so hard to make a new map, add some new cars and maybe outfits andI already thought Horizon 4 had a more fun map, but Horizon 5 is getting worse and worse. Now you can't even grind skillpoints and get wheelspins from cheap cars. Arcade is also much less fun than Forzathon Live. Weekly challenges require rather specific cars, which is unnecessarily difficult to do. It shouldn't be so hard to make a new map, add some new cars and maybe outfits and otherwise copy-paste Horizon 4, but sadly somebody decided to get "creative" and essentially make the game much worse as a result.

    It'd still be a 7/10 game, but considering they did Horizon 4 before this and it was much better, this is a meagre 2 in comparison.    … Expand

    This is probably gonna be an unpopular opinion but in writing it anyway. The games is based in Mexico for no other reason then every other game today is based in Mexico. Soon as 1 game does it, every other game does it which makes gaming feel so much more bland and boring. It's better being unique then to be a sheep. No drift events or anything? I preferred the older horizon games where you worked your way through each area. Now in this game, I don't know what the actual completion goal is? It's more just driving round a map doing random races. There is nothing wrong with that but I would prefer to have something to work towards. This game has got it's good parts. Handling is improved. It's generous with cars and credits (take a hint Polophony). The map isn't to bad. The AI is alright. Driving still isn't at SIM level but I think horizon is better that way. I hope FM8 is more of a SIM then keep horizon more arcade style. That would be awesome. I hope future Horizon titles remove all the dumb stuff like colour tears and stuff. Show me what I'm working towards rather then doing random races dotted everywhere. Add drifting.… Expand

    Forza Horizon 5 is a high-level game in terms of both gameplay and graphics, it's fun to drive around the open world and collect cars, this game is the best racing game for me

    I got to play this game on launch and when I loaded it in, I instantly fell in love with it. The menu music is perfect. The cars actually sound like what cars should unlike Forza Horizon 4. This game also loads extremely fast when on the Xbox Series consoles. I think Mexico is a really good location for off-roading and the volcano is awesome. My favourite car so far is the 2020 ToyotaI got to play this game on launch and when I loaded it in, I instantly fell in love with it. The menu music is perfect. Took 5 months to add any freedom to competitive multiplayer, and the same nonsensical adventure modes are still used as a format. Motorsport Lobbies is a far superior system used in the Motorsport Series (was also in Forza Horizon 1). Forza Horizon 4 Mexican Expansion is what I would use to describe this game. The formula, the repetitive claustrophobic car classes, the festival playlist and adding cars as grind updates that were cut from launch that were in Forza Horizon 4. You also get everything handed to you. Koenigsegg’s and Ferraris within the first hour. No sense of progression. What made the first horizon game the greatest title was the fact you had a story mode, bosses and started out with a slow car and had to work your way to becoming Horizon Champion. Horizon 5 is racing for the sake of racing rather than achieving anything. Add in the fact this game feels like a game made for 5 year old children. It’s silly. Give the game to developers who care. They had an extra year to develop the game but instead it’s rehash of 4 (which in itself is a very flawed game) with far less innovation and no identity. How this game gets positive reviews from critics amazes me. If the Horizon series is to ever improve and leave how downhill it has gone, return to the aspects that made the first horizon a great game. Bring back lobbies, add a long cohesive story, give me a reason to race rather than grind, don’t hand everything to the player and make them unlock cars etc. Horizon 5 is a sheer disappointment, and I won’t be buying 6 if looks anything close to 5.… Expand

    It doesn’t really add anything new to the formula of its predecessors, but it is the most polished version of what has come before. It’s going to be hard for other arcade racing games to top what Forza Horizon has established. There are a large amount of race types spanning across a large landscape of different environments. The new setting in Mexico is fantastic, and they made the terrain vary tremendously over previous entries, which makes it more exciting to explore. The formula is otherwise the same - explore the world, go to races, complete random tasks, find the collectibles. It’s as connected as the other games, so your progress is constantly compared to others on your friends list which makes it feel a bit more engaging. There is a lot of content to experience in this game, but with each passing game, I’m finding myself stopping sooner and sooner. Doesn’t mean the game is bad, because it still truly feels like that celebration of cars that you experienced in the other games. The graphics of the terrain are stunning. They really nailed the environments, and it really does a wonderful job of making you take your eyes off the road. The car models on the vehicles are also exceptional, but after the latest Gran Turismo, they do feel a bit dated. The sound design is great like always in these games.

    I don’t want to nitpick stupid things about the game, because it does not affect my score in any way. But the implementation of “wokeness” into this game is very overt. You have to pick your pronouns, you can choose if you have any prosthetic limbs, you can choose different face masks that you can unlock - but you can’t change facial hair. Again, it’s not a big deal at all, but it’s just stupid.

    Overall, it’s an awesome game that anyone who likes cars is guaranteed to enjoy. It’s a fun celebration of cars.    … Expand

    Forza Horizon 5 brought many changes that the community was awaiting. The map, being one. The new location of Mexico, makes Forza Horizon 5 extremely diverse. From deserts, to rainforests to the city of Guanajuato, there is much to explore. With a wide range of cars to choose, and constant monthly updates, Forza Horizon 5 is the best in its series.

And then the game bugs! Was just disconnected during a race for inactivity! i would go into more details but it is apparent they pay no attention to criticism. the disappointment is on the level of going to Lashad this since day 1. got it because of FH4 and feel cheated like a bait and switch from a sleazy used car lot!     Best racing game series ever. As a Playstation 5 player, the XboxSeriesX doesn't have too many arguments in its favor in my opinion, but for Forza Horizon alone the Xbox is worth it. And that's exactly why I bought it.

    Phenomenal..!! This happens when any video game studio is on Pinnacle of their Making. The driving physics is near perfect in this game. Hundreds of customisation options. Nearly 500 cars and adding with every update. Graphics is so good that sometimes this doesn't even feel like a game. Playground Games has managed the Art of Racing Games. Must Play Xbox Exclusive.

You can tell that this game was made “with the cooperation” of the Mexican tourism board and the car manufacturers, because it is basically a gigantic advertisement for visiting Mexico and buyingForza Horzion 5 is an open world racing game. The game is set in Mexico, but honestly, it barely matters; the game is really just an open world racing thing with some minor Mexican theming. You can tell that this game was made “with the cooperation” of the Mexican tourism board and the car manufacturers, because it is basically a gigantic advertisement for visiting Mexico and buying expensive cars.

    This isn’t a bad thing though, necessarily, as it gives you an excuse to race around in a variety of vehicles across over 125 courses, plus dozens of “story missions”.

    Unfortunately, the game suffers a bit from the fact that it doesn’t really do enough to encourage variety; it is entirely possible to just optimize a couple cars for the various modes and never switch, and while there are achievements for doing so, you can simply ignore them.

    The story, too, is quite weak; not surprising, considering what it is, but still. The main character is a “superstar” who is serving to promote the “Horizon Festival” by winning a bunch of events and otherwise doing various stunts across the landscape of Mexico. Everything is just an excuse for that, but while you and your coworkers are enthusiastic, you never really bond with any of them. The closest point is when you race in “The Vocho”, which belonged to another character’s grandfather, but in the end, there’s no real payoff.

    Sadly, that’s kind of the game’s biggest flaw – there’s lots of “stuff to do” but you’re likely to actually activate most of the most interesting things early on, and the sheer number of races aren’t really super exciting when they lack any real sense of progression. It’s really just a sandbox for racing cars, and while this isn’t a bad thing, it does mean that the game just sort of peters out as you run out of things to do.

    The actual core controls are pretty good, though; it’s an arcade racing game, but not super arcade, and you do actually have to pay attention to what you’re doing. The racetracks are nothing like what Mario Kart 8 provides, but they are reasonable for realistic tracks, and there’s some variety in them.

    Overall, this game is decent but not amazing. It is solid enough at racing and it has a lot of content, but the lack of a strong sense of progression and, for all its spectacle, it’s general shallowness, make it a bit hard to strongly recommend. Still, if you enjoy racing games, it is worth playing.    … Expand

The only issues that I've had is the UI for search options taking too long to scroll through such as the case in the filter options, kind of wish the filter options for some aspects of the game were like the filter options for when you want to search for a car brand.     Forza Horizon 5 ist echt ein schönes Spiel. Die Grafik ist super und das Fahrgefühl ist für ein Arcade Racer echt super. Mit Controller Lenkrad und Maus und Tastatur hat es echt Spaß gemacht zu fahren.
    Es gibt viele Autos in jeder Kategorie. Außerdem ist es einfach Autos zu bekommen.

    I love it, same as Forza Horizon 4. This one is even more noob oriented, but it's not exactly bad thing. One thing that kind of annoyed where the Spanish words randomly inserted into the dialogues. Because of it I felt like it was Dora the Explorer, not racing game.

    A true wonderful installment to a great video game series. It has, by far, the most diverse map, features, cars, and community which makes for an overall great experience. The story will make for an amazing game play and a lot of the features will also make you want to keep playing.     I like the freedom the game allows you to have. The graphics are amazing; playability is good; lots os things to do; hundreds of cars; you can play solo, co-op and online. Forza Horizon 5 is an entertainment for many hours. Most of all: you definitely have fun! Great game. 9.0

The cars handle so much better than in previous games, with an extremely large amount of cars and modding choices available.     The best racing game of all time. From the graphics to the mechanics and everything else this game is flawlessly executed and crafted. I cannot praise it enough. Please get this game, please get game pass and play it! It is so worth your time. The community is great too and the DLC is awesome!

    Perfect game, love every bit of it. Let's get it, great graphics. So glad I switched to Xbox, I put my ps5 in a goodwill and never looked back. Finally a good racing game. Gt7 was trash.

    After a long time, I can tell that there is some problems with this game. After first "wow" experience you can notice that game really have some minuses.
    First of all - graphics and optimization. I play on the PC and on the High preset, with SSD M.2 (I bought it not only for Forza, but this game was a main reason to bought it) you can see that low-pol. 2D trees loading in about 20-30 m. forward you. Also, when you speeding up to around ~300 km/h, textures starts to blink and you get a full stop for a 2-5 seconds. Comparing that game with previous title, FH4 do not have that problems at all. Maybe because of light or something else, but picture in Forza Horizon 4 looks better and of course have better performance.
    Secondary - why are you almost killed photo mode? Why when I want to get a nice shot, weather and time are changing? I can explain - in all previous titles when you want to shot something time in that mode time just pause, but it continue when you exit it. What happened in the game that you decided to enter this feature in the photo mode once in the update?
    Game is not like FH3, which had incredible feel of Australia and not like FH4, which had very good performance. This is not an awful game, but I feel that Playground games can make it better. (April 5, 2022)    … Expand

    There are only a couple of car games that deserve top marks, FH4/FH5 and Gran Turismo 4 on PS2. Hours and hours and hours of fun, hours and hours and hours touring an open world doing what you always dreamed of doing with your car, but you couldn't, today you can with big money cars.

    Outside Rare Replay, this is the one other series that I really love that MS has been doing. The FH titles have only been getting better and better. Makes me wish MidNight Club would come back as it's my all time favourite open world racer. But if there's one that comes close, it's THIS RIGHT HERE

However, I've played this before in Forza Horizon 4 a few years ago, Forza Horizon 3; 2 years before that, and Forza Horizon 2; 2 years before that.... problem is Phil Spencer and Xbox doesn't seem to care about franchise fatigue.
