After playing 0, 1, 2 this game was absolutely a huge let down. The map feels cheap as does the new interface. Feels like Kiryu is walking around in tap dance shoes that were dipped in cement. Only thing saving this game is the storyline which is the only reason I finished it. I tried to ignore all side missions as I felt no incentive to deal with them.

And the new system to power up the character is garbage. Huge HUGE letdown. Not a good thing when you spend most of your time shaking your head and wishing it would just end.

There isn’t a bad Yakuza game, but Yakuza 3 Remastered on Xbox is the weakest in the series. Its lengthy introduction takes up about a third of the entire story, whilst it also lacks some of the quality of life improvements found in later versions. But it is still a solid entry, and worth playing through to see the foundations of Kiryu’s later life beginning.

Yakuza 3 Remastered is not a bad game, but it is the worst Yakuza. It's a game that dares to make big changes but lacks the pace to generate as much interest as the previous instalments. As a remaster, the 1080p and 60fps falls short.
