PC version needs some serious patches that makes fps better. Consoles versions will obviously run better on Xbox Series X or PS5, but PS4 Pro runs it fine as well. Overall very unique concept, recruit any npc, make army of them, free London. London looks beautiful btw.

WD 1 is clearly better in a sense that having one main character (even if you can recruit npc's) make you care so much more about the game, that's just harsh truth. But recruiting npc's is fun despite that. Thankfully they bring back Aiden in dlc, so in a way, Legion's main character could also be Aiden, just like first game. There's two things that makes this open world stand out from others, ability to recruit and play as ANY npc in the game and RTX reflection in true open world game. There's some other unique stuff too like flying on drones, instead of usual planes or helicopters. Performance could be better, otherwise it's nice.

It's no GTA V, but it's solid open world London to chill around in, hack stuff, fly drones, drive cars, recruit npc's, explore London underground hidden areas. It's cool. Nothing special, but i would rather buy this than marvel's avengers, re3remake or dark pictures.

It's basically exactly what was in trailer and gameplay demos. People don't know how to use youtube or something? It's not must buy, it's not top 3 game of 2020. What it is tho, generally fun, modern open world to mess around with.

My most anticipated video games of 2020 were Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion. I pre-ordered all of them, so watch dogs legion is first one down. Gotta say, it's not perfect, but i wasn't expecting anything perfect. Overall i think it was just okay. It wasn't awful either. Giving it 10 because bots have review bombed it badly.

Not masterpiece, but compared to tons of other open world games that are actually boring and empty (just cause 3 and 4, mafia remake) there's tons of fun to be had in watch dogs legion.

I support this because i really like this idea of open world hacking game. It just needs to be done right. There's two way it can go, they either improve this one with 1. MULTIPLAYER, 2. AIDEN PEARCE DLC STORY, 3. IMPROVE OVERALL GAME MECHANICS LIKE DRIVING. Either these or they just need to go all out with watch_dogs 4. They got London right, that's good. What they didn't is that this game feel way packed together, EVERY OPEN WORLD GAME NEEDS AREAS TO TAKE TIME DOWN, BREATHE. It has some on if and i'm glad it does, but i would like these kinds of games have some kind of forest area, nature area, just like watch_dogs 1 did. ANYTHING OUTSIDE THE CITY, ANYTHING, PLEASE. I absolutely don't care if real London don't have nature areas, PRETEND IT DOES, IT'S A VIDEO GAME. You can do whatever you want with it. Still i'm not giving up on it just yet, i really wanna see what they do with season pass and if Aiden's story is good enough. If they this right, this might actually be pretty decent hacking/open world game that takes place in London and that's actually (at least to me) very important aspect. I like London. I love it's architecture (yeah i'm history nerd, sue me). NPC recruitment is very unique idea BUT IT NEEDS MORE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, IT NEEDS MORE. Like i said, i'm still hopeful, would love to fly on cargo drones with Aiden Pearce and play his missions. Could be actually cool. Even tho i kinda trashed it, don't get me wrong, i still like this game. It's miles better than completely empty open world of mafia remake, i don't care if it focuses on story, if you have huge open world, do something with it. Watch_Dogs is at least doing something. And it's overall by any means more fun than Marvel's Avengers, these are not even comparable. I'm not saying these things AT ALL to trash other games, i'm just pointing out facts. My recommendation would be either wait for sale, wait for season pass or just take whatever this game has to offer right now. It's overall very promising and at times very fun. Expand

I have seen a lot of negative reveiws on this game and I understand that not everyone will share the same opinion with me but are we playing the same game!?

Obviously its not perfect but I think it is really good, not just for an ubisoft game but a game in general.

The gameplay is really smooth depending on what operative your are using, if you have a professional hitman, you can go up to people and execute them jhon wick style, and if you have a beekeeper you can send a swarm their way and it just feels so cool.(there are many more operatives with great abilities) while if you didnt like the gameplay of WD or wd2, you may not have as much fun as me ut I still think it could offer enough to let you have fun.(NOTICE!If you are someone who likes going up against very smart AI, the ai in this game, though quite unforgiving if caught, can be very dumb)

i'm not sure about PC or Xbox but the game seems very well optimized on my ps4 pro, the graphics are great, the loading times arent obnoxious like some other games that came out this year and the input is perfectly fine. Another complaint I have heard is that the story is boring and while Its no the last of us or the witcher 3, it is really solid and entertaining. (without any spoilers) the plot is basically something happens to london and dedsec that requires you to recruit the people of london and un cover the person disturbing the have to find the perpetrators and restore peace in london.

People have also been saying that it is a very repetitive game and I just have to disagree , there are so many things to do around london and so many Ways to infiltrate each hideout whether you go in guns a blazing, stealthily, with a drone, disguised, etc. It always has new things to offer. Also, cto clear each borough of London, they have similar missions that have been re touched to feel unique each time and the final mission of each borough is unique and rewards you with an elite operator (spy, drone expert, anarchist, etc.) That has special abilities that is hard to find just on the streets. (The only thing that feels repetitiveto me is the pipe puzzles but they dont seem to be as frequent as they were in WD1 or 2)

I HAVE BOUGHT THE GAME ON THE STANDARD EDITION ($60) and it doesnt feel like I'm missing out on anything so dont feel inclined to but the gold or ultimate edition unless you want to expand on your experience of the game.

The amount of freedom and time you can invest in this game is worth the 60$. Once you figure that out the game is amazing, the story and all the main characters are excellent and the city of London while boring at first really started to grow on me, and while I hate the play as anyone feature I love profiling people and recruiting them to Dedsec and having them chime in on conversations during missions it, makes it so I have a connection with these other operator’s even though I never play as them. The combat isn’t great but fist fighting is pretty fun and stealth can be brutal and fun, hacking is also a big part of the game and the use of drones adds a fun new element to combat and stealth. In conclusion Ubisoft failed at making a "play as anyone game" in my eyes simple because there is zero reason to play as anyone but the spy and hitman for the most part, but aside from that this game is probably my favorite in the series and the story and characters alone are worth the money. This game misses main character, i'm sorry to say that, but it does. I can't wait to see if anything improves when they release season pass with Aiden, but it must. I would absolutely love to free roam with Aiden in that city. I guess what i want is actual character focused story. Right now it almost feels like it's work in progress and they should have released Aiden day 1 as post-story content. Like if you finish main story, then you can play with Aiden basically, well they didn't do that and i can live with that, i just hope season pass delivers, i really do. And why am i so optimistic? Because at the same time, there's so much there. This city really looks beautiful, for example you can go on cargo drone and fly on top of almost any building (that isn't too high) and chill around there. Scenery is BEAUTIFUL. You can free roam around on these rooftops, explore them etc. But then i have some criticism against open world design choices, for example i was free roaming and i found this old train in middle of nowhere, Would have been so cool to go inside it and explore it, but you can't because it has no doors. It's not the end of the world, but little things like that could have been so much deeper. You can drive inside trams in WD1 and you can't even go inside old train? Just saying. But overall it's not trash, it's just not. It' might not be anyone's cup of tea and that's completely fine, giving it just zero is pathetic at best. I'll just be honest, driving sucks with mouse and keyboard, it actually felt better in WD1 and they need to fix this, i'm serious. Overall it has tons of potential, underground areas is nice idea as well. There's so much there and there's stuff that i can forgive, like i don't NEED to go inside old trains, it would be just cool, that's all i'm saying. Overall again, it's not trash, it's just not. It just need improvement and for the love of god it needs that season pass more than ever.

Even tho they have millions of fans around the world, there seems to be this small group of angry/hateful people who try to damage their games by giving zero scores without even buying the game and not only their games, other companies as well (these people don't actually really care about gaming, they just have nothing better to with their lives, it's very obvious). And this mass downvoting on watch dogs legion literally day 1 is perfect example of that. Assassin's Creed has way larger fanbase (literally millions) than watch dogs, so hopefully Assassin's Creed fans are ready to protect Valhalla when it releases, because this kind of mass downvoting can't happen again. Now about the game, been playing around 20 hours i think. So far it's pretty fine watch dogs entry, i wasn't expecting anything crazy anyway from this, but it's solid 7.5, maybe even 8 for how good London looks.

    PERFORMANCE:
For reference, I am playing on PC. I have a 1660 TI, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core processor. My machine is by no means top of the pile, but it's easily able to run things like DOOM Eternal or The Witcher 3 on Ultra with stable, 60+ FPS. That is not the case with this game. Even running on medium, I average about 45 FPS, which sometimes reaches 60 when I'm indoors, and consistent drops to 30 when I'm driving. I have up-to-date drivers, and I'm not trying to run this with ray tracing - I'm not dumb. This game runs *atrociously,* which makes the game difficult to enjoy.

    GAMEPLAY
The ability to recruit operators is implemented quite blandly. They amount to little more than an aesthetic change with very slightly different abilities - maybe a different gun or a different gadget, more commonly slightly bonuses in melee combat. Speaking of melee combat, it is unbearably dull. For reference, I was playing with a PS4 controller. Melee consistent mostly of waiting for your opponent to swing, dodging, and then performing a counter-attack. That's it. It goes no further than that. You can take on a theoretically indefinite number of enemies in this way, as you are invulnerable while attacking. There is a sidequest where you must compete in various underground street-fighting competitions, and it was undoubtedly one of the dullest parts of the game. The gunplay is fine. Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. The stealth is identical to any other Ubisoft game. The nemesis system is virtually non-existent - it doesn't go much deeper than simply marking someone who killed your operator as "Adversary" and giving you a bonus reward for killing them. Overall, the gameplay is bland but not horrible.

    STORY
Most of this will be subjective. I find the premise a little ridiculous, especially considering that this is supposed to be London one year from now (the game is set in 2021.) The UK government has dissolved the Metropolitan Police and replaced it with a private military corporation. This corporation is essentially free to do as it pleases, violating the rights of the citizens of London, however and whenever they please. Without the proper set up, this just comes across as absurd and difficult to believe. With the approach of having infinite playable operators but no established main character, the story is difficult to get in to, as the lack of a protagonist that we journey alongside throughout the plot makes emotional investment a chore.

    SUBJECTIVE
Honestly, I hate the aesthetic of this game. The original Watch Dogs game, flawed though it was, knew what it wanted to be. Aidan was dressed mundanely but believably, in such a way that he looked cool, but also liked any guy off the street, which is to be expected for someone who wants to maintain a low profile. Watch Dogs two began to branch out a little bit with the aesthetic, giving characters LED masks with changing faces. This felt a little off to me, but honestly, it was bearable. Watch Dogs 2 also had a more grounded feel, as the protagonist (whose name escapes me) had to use something other than a smart phone for some tasks, given the limited capacity of such a device. In Watch Dogs Legion, the aesthetic is all over the place. Characters can have holographic cat ears or halos. They have flashy jackets and shiny pants, despite the fact that they are attempting to covertly fight against tyranny - so one would imagine they'd need to blend in. Half the characters look like they're at a contest to become a Skrillex groupie, and the other half look bland. The hair, as it usually does in Ubisoft games, looks very bad, like painted fabric glued on to silicone.

I didn't have very high expectations for this game. I thought it would probably be an ok game that would probably feel like any other Ubisoft game. As far as exploration goes, at least there aren't any towers. 4 / 10.

The world and combat is fine but nothing amazing. The "hacking" feels very limited and quite dull honestly. The story is pretty bland and generic. Ive also had several crashes while playing, maybe after fixing these and adding mutliplayer it might be okay. But all around one to skip.

frankly the best thing about the game is the setting.
as usual, the ubisoft game is poorly optimized and polished, waiting screens are horrible and long. the characters lack soul and although the concept of the game is very good, the development is disastrous, I have played 3 hours and I feel that the story is dust, it is a pity that ubi does not know when to stop exploiting his sagas.

My gripes really stem from the place of being a fan. Anyone entering Watch Dogs: Legion looking for a by the books open world game is going to find a lot to enjoy. There are small puzzles to solve, plenty of collectibles, lots of missions and I would say the shooting and driving are the best this series has ever been. Fans of the series like myself however will be disappointed by the lack of enjoyable characters as well as stand out missions and story beats. With how close Legion is releasing to Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising it feels like Watch Dogs: Legion was left to fight for your attention and your money with less money put into development. I would recommend both Watch Dogs 1 & 2 as well as plenty of other Ubisoft experiences from the last few years before Legion at full price.

Ubisoft have done well with this game but if you get frustrated easily I would maybe wait till this game has had a few more updates first before playing it.

It’s a convincing facsimile, which makes trying to save it from Albion and its assorted cronies a more compelling task. And Legion’s big gimmick is that you can play as, well, anyone. Construction workers, lawyers, YouTube stars, retired cage fighters, Anarchists, football hooligans. All are served up by Ubisoft’s smart procedurally-generated trick, each with their own look, background and sometimes even voting record.
