When it comes to improve your arsenal and equipment, it is either fun and gratefull, because you ussually have to complete missions or defeat enemies to get such things, which helps a lot to improve and be able to face stronger enemies.

    I'm having so much fun!

Its good...the problem is that it could be better. I love the game to death, but I can also see how people hate it. Do your research to see if this one is right for you. It's a lot of grinding, and the enemies are pretty repetitive. The PVP and match making systems are unbelievably good. I do believe it is made for people with a specific taste though, so be aware.

Once again, Ubisoft screws gamers by butchering a game that was much cooler in development. I agree with critics who call Ubisoft the new EA. The Division looked awesome in E3 trailers, and Ubisoft made a point to show us the huge open world we could explore. Instead, we got about a fourth of that world, and the multiplayer component was severely hamstrung. The Division is fun occasionally, but its lacking too much content and variety to keep players interested for more than a few months.

A big component to rpg/mmo’s wannabes is customization and loot. TD fails on both fronts. Despite vehicles, trash, luggage, and military convos scattered everywhere, loot is incredibly rare. Enemies drop the same crap over and over. There are no epic or rare items. Inventory management is a pain because players can hold so little. Chronic loot congestion means players are constantly leaving missions and multiplayer to manage items. There’s a stash box which is accessible to all characters on an account. But the hassle of constantly selling and scrapping isn’t worth it.

Customization is laughable. There’s no individuality in TD because all characters look the same. Faces are so poorly rendered that guys and gals look identical. Gear is pathetic. Everyone runs around in jeans and parkas. No military armor. No police vests. No agency uniforms. Ubisoft developers dropped the ball here, and it’s mindboggling. COD and Destiny prove how much console players love customization. The lack thereof will alienate players.

Missions are repetitive. Enemies are repetitive—there are only 5 types I’ve encountered in 25 hours. Objectives are repetitive. Rewards are repetitive. Missions can be fun with friends, and TD gives the illusion that tactics are important. However, TD is only as good as the groups that play it. But the fact that most enemies wear zero armor and can absorb 500 bullets undermines the “realism” Ubisoft is pushing. A hoodie wearing attacker can run thru 300 M60 rounds without so much as flinching and kill a player with a single swing of a bat. No joke. This breaks the immersion. Plus, it frustrates players who expected strategic, realistic play. TD is filled to the brim with bullet sponge bosses and enemies who stand out in the open taking fire from heavily armed squads. It’s silly.

Exploring isn’t much fun because nothing really happens. Enemies will always respawn at certain spots. So after a few passes on the maps, players will always get the jump on unsuspecting baddies. Unlike the footage we saw in the trailers, nobody uses vehicles. What happened to the Mad Max roamers ploughing the streets in garbage trucks?

Game performance is bad. Constant flickering and frame rate drops plague TD. Players must always be plugged into a server, even when playing solo. The servers are often unreliable. They don’t cull players either, so multiplayer is generally uneventful.

Multiplayer should’ve been TD’s best feature, but the “Dark Zone” is actually one of the worst multiplayer experiences out today. Players fight both AI controlled enemies and other players. Gear and abilities earned in the campaign carry over into the DZ and vice versa. In the E3 footage, we were shown multiple Dark Zones throughout New York. Instead, we get just one, and it’s small. Nearly all the problems that plague the campaign rear their ugly heads in the DZ. Plus, the DZ has unique problems that sap the remaining life out of TD.

Foremost, the DZ is divided into several areas. The harder areas are impossible to survive. Enemies possess ludicrously high health, respawn within a minute or two of dying, and rarely drop loot. My squad cleared out a warehouse and then pushed forward to the next area only to be flanked by the enemies we just defeated. We all died. It’s all the more frustrating because each death cost players money and experience points. In 2 hours, my rank dropped 4 levels and I lost $4,000 playing in Dark Zone Area 2. And that’s with a squad. I dare not venture into Area 3.

Second, encounters with players are rare. I’ve gone hours without seeing anyone. If someone accidently hits a friendly player and “goes rogue”, others will gang up on the poor soul and take them out. A rogue loses massive amounts of money, experience, and DZ gear when they die. However, killing a rogue player nets very little, except for the gear. The unbalanced rewards encourage players to camp low ranking areas of the dark zone and troll AI enemy spawns for loot.

Last, there’s no PVP, just PVPVE. Multiplayer is incredibly biased against PVP and exploration.

The Division has a solid framework which Ubisoft can build on. But TD has too many problems to be fixed before most players set it aside. I truly doubt Ubisoft has the expertise to distill TD into a solid hybrid shooter. I’m pissed that so much was removed by launch. We didn’t get a new franchise, we got Watch Dogs 2: Pedestrian Edition

I just cant enjoy this game. The aiming is very hard. You must shoot the enemy many times. You often die from one bullet while you need to hit them 10 times to kill an enemy? I play just about all shooter games and this one is different in terms of enjoyment. Constantly dying from waves of shooters that need to only hit you once to kill you. Couldn't get into this game.

I have spent no time in the dark zone (as I have been saving that for level 30 with a large group of friends; I know all about the dark zone, I played a lot of it in the beta, it's just pointless until you hit 30). The content package in the game right now is perfectly good. It's a loot-based shooter akin to Destiny, so you should know what you're getting into. The story is pointless dribble. It's an add-on. Anybody expecting something on the levels of the Wither or Mass Effect 2 is not only going to be disappointed, but you're a moron for wanting something like that in the first place.
The missions are fun, but they aren't the most varied things in the world. Due to the setting, the developer can't exactly get too creative with boss fights (so pretty much every boss is just a super armored dude that does more damage), but blame the semi-realistic setting for that. The mission designs are quite good and the levels are well designed and fun to play through. The 39 hours I spent in the game were an absolute blast. The gunplay is great, the amount of loot is mind numbing, and thank goodness they included plenty of vendors and weapon/gear crafting. You don't have to play the darkzone at all to get awesome gear. You can buy it yourself at the vendors or craft awesome weapons. Mechanically, the game is solid. I had 1 crash (literally 4 minutes before writing this review), got kicked off the servers only once (on launch day), and the frame rate holds up 99% of the time (there is notable dip when in groups of 4 surrounded by 10 enemies with everyone on fire, which is perfectly understandable). For 40 hours of content, it's absolutely worth $60. The after game is largely daily missions (daily challenge modes are like Destiny Nightfalls but harder, and they grant you guaranteed high-end (yellow/exotic) loot; daily missions also reward you phoenix credits, which you can use to buy high-level gear), the darkzone, and the eventual Incursions (raids). I can say that the game is definitely worth buying right now, and that's coming from someone who hasn't stepped int he darkzone once. I'm not sure how religiously I will play it now that I've beaten every on-disc PVE activity, but $60 for 40 hours of gameplay is a good value in my book. It's not perfect, of course. While I understand that these types of games aren't meant to have great stories (see my point above), I would still have liked more story elements, more cutscenes, more official introductions to main characters, both good and bad. Sometimes the controls are a little weird, but that's only 15% of the time, so I'm picking nits at this point. If you like games like Borderlands, Destiny, or Diablo, then you'll enjoy The Division.

Secondly we get to see an apocalyptic setting with out the need for monsters or zombie and Aliens, humans and the damage we can do to each other, its refreshing to see such a game that explores this and leaves out the mutations etc.

Thirdly we get a RPG and MMOG, true we have Destiny but that's far out space etc. This is earth this is our time. I really like the setting and the try to make it as realistic and graphic as they could

I spent a good amount of time with the beta so I was familiar with the controls, menu options, loot system, etc. They've made some minor tweaks for launch day that I think definitely were appreciated.

One of the frustrations I had with the game initially was entering and exiting cover. I felt like a lot of times I would pull away from cover which is a sure death wish in this game. I later found a setting where you can lock yourself to cover and need to initiate a button press to move off of it or navigate around a corner (think Gears of War). Found this to be much more useful.

The few hours I spent playing on day 1 (currently level 8) were spent outside of the DZ doing missions both solo and with a group of 3 friends. Both the solo and group experiences were both fun and challenging. You definitely want to pay attention to the recommended minimum levels for each of the missions (think recommended light from Destiny) as you will get worked otherwise. You also want to plan accordingly with your squad mates as the number of enemies is increased when playing with a full fire team. Think about who should equip assault related perks vs. healing perks, etc. It will definitely make a difference and I found this planning aspect to be one of the more interesting aspect of the game.

Outside of the game play, the graphics are great. NYC looks beautifully desolate and there are side conversations, echos (memory sequences), and other random events that definitely set the mood for the world you're thrown into.

One other component that I really appreciate is the requirement to do side missions. I've also been someone who likes to complete all missions, quests, etc when playing through a game (Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Destiny, etc). In most games these side missions will grant you additional XP or maybe a new weapon, weapon skin, loot, etc. With The Division, your abilities and perks are based on upgrading your Base Of Operations and modifications to these perks and abilities are based on credits gained from these side missions making them much more rewarding.

Obviously I still have a lot to play / experience with this game, but so far I'm really enjoying the experience and I think anyone giving this game a score less than a 7 or 8 is a absolutely nuts.

The Division has been teased for a long time, and it is a truly polarizing experience. I've heard convincing arguments from people who either loved it or hate it, and given the familiar (and controversial) "shared world" format, there seem to be few opinions that fall in the middle.
I've even heard the case that this is a "Gears of War / Borderlands / Assassins Creed / Destiny" hybrid... that is a lot to take in. So, the question posed by gamers; what is this game supposed to be, exactly?
Is this a superior co-op based cover shooter? Is it a ripoff? An innovative PvP experience? A rehash of things we've already seen?

The truth lies somewhere in the middle; The Division is a unique blend of familiar mechanics, mixed with enough nuances to warrant the attention any fan of Destiny or quality co-op shooters in general. You can't adequately rate a game based off of comparisons, so while nods to similar shooters are there, the comparisons stop now as far as this review is concerned.

Visually, the game is a feast. While PC goers have their version, this game is also eye candy on consoles. Aside from the gorgeous lighting and impressive texture work, the attention to detail is what makes this game shine. Few games really give you striking imagery at almost every turn. The Division is one of them. There's a unique level of atmosphere here which is hard to ignore, even for hardened players who have seen the apocalypse many times.
The way the sunrise spills over the streets of an abandoned New York, in the apex of a mass crisis, evokes a genuine moment of pause as you realize the daunting tasks ahead of you; whatever created this staggering level of destruction and emptiness is coming for you. Each street is littered with abandoned cars, body bags, stray dogs, and clues to the city's downfall.

Character models are a mixed bag. Loving detail was put into the player-controlled "Agents" and their gear/weapons. Not as impressive are the secondary cast of characters. Their animations are usually smooth, but their emotions are wooden.
Allied and enemy NPCs are, once again, well animated. However, character models aren't really varied. This serves as a game mechanic for the player to distinguish factions, but the fact that all seem to have uniformity is noteworthy.
A simple but engaging mechanic came in the form of "Echo beacons," virtual traces of life before and during the downfall. Each of these brief interactions tells a story. Sometimes it's just there on your way, sometimes it's simple detective work, but it -always- gives you something to think about.

Audio is mostly great here, as well. The score delivers dramatic undertones and thrilling orchestral scores for tense encounters. Voice acting is usually delivered well, but some secondary characters aren't believable in their delivery. The cheese is light, but I rolled my eyes once or twice. Everything else, from weapon sounds to enemy dialogue, is what you would expect but well done nonetheless. The minor details in the audio shine through to uplift the overall experience, and while there can be nothing taken away from the majority of the in-game audio, the game does not hinge upon it.

Gameplay. Simply put, it is fantastic. It's a responsive, tight, and rewarding third person shooter that can be enjoyed alone and with friends, which is huge to me. Games lose points when the player can't have fun flying solo. While you will enjoy the thrill of taking on these missions with others, there is nothing lost in this single player experience. This is the appeal "shared world" games; the option to share is always there, but not mandatory.
Cover systems aren't a new concept, but I couldn't imagine The Division functioning any other way. When in cover, you can select any other valid surface in range, and hold the cover button to execute a thrilling dash, which can be canceled mid-action for whatever reason.
The only real problem here, again, is sameness of enemy behavior.

Surviving in the Dark Zone is a frantic thrill which I won't get into, just try it.

A huge list of perks, talents, and abilities allow for unlimited tinkering. It truly rewards your builds for anything from close-range brawls to sniper duels. Using the proper abilities is crucial to your team's success, as there are many which reward you and your team for fighting effectively. There is no limit to how often you modify talents or change skill trees. You're limited to 3 core abilities at once, requiring tactical thinking on higher difficulty.

This game is a triumph. The firefights are pure thrills. The presentation is great. I can't adequately do a full review here, but if anything is going to hold this game back, it could be longevity. Some minor encounters are repeated. But as far as a day one package goes, this is a solid buy.

The minor gripes add up, but don't kill the game. Don't judge this one by it's cover.
    This is a high 8.

Game can be repetitive as "repeating missions" is here all the time. Just wish They made character models abit different. just not clothes but styles. Enemy AI is predictable but which game doesn't have that kind of feeling anyway?

The PVP works so good. The Dark Zone gives u the tension. A small advice. all of a sudden if u kicked from a group,in dark zone, wait for betrayal just RUN if u can all die while u try.

Ok agent, take ur time to enjoy this product. if u love to level up max fast, this game is a 4-5-6 / 10 to u.

The Division is more and more becoming a tech-demo for the Snowdrop engine, basically "Look how great a game you can create with our engine!".

Unfortunately, The Division is nothing like a great game.

Massive and Ubisoft seems to have no clue as to how to create a good multiplayer game. They may flounder when it comes to singleplayer experiences, like with Assassins Creed, but The Division is in a whole league of its own.

There are a couple of main areas where the game not only falls short but utterly fails completely:

    * Balancing
    * Lag
    * Being ready to be released as a "final game"
    * Lasting gameplay value

The balancing is utterly rubbish. The game has a cap on "damage mitigation" but no cap on "damage output". Let me give an example. Your player can wear different types of armor to reduce the damage you get from an enemy. If the enemy is capable of doing 1000 damage per shot (as a simple example), and you have 50% damage mitigation, your player will get 500 damage from that shot. Damage mitigation is capped at 65%, meaning that out of that 1000 the enemy outputs, your character will incur a health reduction of 650.

On the other hand, they have not capped damage output. If you have a character capable of outputting 300K damage per second, a player with a 65% damage mitigation will need 195K health to survive one second. It is not unheard of meeting players in PvP with 300+K damage output. This means that from the point where they decide to start firing upon you you would have less than 1 second to react in order to survive.

    So that's somewhat bad.

But what really makes this bad is the fact that the game has really bad lag, there are numerous Youtube videos about this. This means that the amount of time you have to react when someone decide to start shooting at you is less than one second, more like 1 second minus that lag.

Quite often when you meet players in PvP and they decide to shoot at you you're dead before you can even know what hit you.

This isn't a recipe for good PvP. This is basically a recipe for griefing.

The game was also quite a long way away from being ready to be released when it was released. There has been so many bugs, glitches, exploits, and problems that this game goes down in history as the worst game launch ever. Launch a new update which gives players a chance to earn "the best loot in the game, once a week" and players have *all* the best loot available in the game a few hours later because they've exploited various glitches to complete the "hardest part of the game" multiple times. Forget "once a week", this was reduced to "once or twice an hour".

Remember those 300K players in pvp? Who do you think you're up against if you enter PvP? The players who glitched and got all the best gear in the game the first night.

All of this hinges on the fact that the game has lasting replay value. A good such game will have you wanting to go home from work, every day, and log on. The Division managed to make that a chore. Log on every day and do your daily missions to earn the currency used to buy "the best gear in the game" and the log off because the only other way to get good gear is through PvP where you're getting slaughtered unless you glitched.

And let's not forget the facts that:

    * They managed to botch the daily missions, not only do they repeat 3-4 days in a row without change because some "programmer" at Massive used copy-and-paste to fill out the tables but they have disappeared from the game twice now, no dailys because the programmes didn't copy-and-paste enough.
    * The source of *all* the glitches in the game, a specific skill, is still not removed pending final fixes, meaning that you can still glitch in large parts of the game with this skill.
    * The "hardest content in the game", the new Incursion, which apparently gave the team at Massive a major problem getting through, and was then made even harder, was beat and then glitched through in less than an hour after launch. At some point Massive is going to realize that "the smartest people are not working at the same place you are" is quite true indeed.
    * The Incursion, which apparently was hyped with "new mechanichs", is basically a 15-wave horde mode where you battle 15 waves of enemies and have to deal with 4 mobs carrying explosives by picking up the explosive and placing it on a tank. If you've played *any* sort of MMORPG the last, oh, say, 15 years, you know that "boss mechanics" is ... not the same. Not the same at all.

This game had potential, it had promise, it looks gorgeous, and it went from superhyped and hot to irrelevant in less than a month.

There are numerous good games coming out this year, some quite soon too. Do your wallet a favour and stay away from The Division.

Unless, of course, you like playing buggy unfinished glitchy games where PvP balance is like the joke where someone suddenly throws a cream pie in your face. Then of course The Division is entirely your game.

This game is a cover-based shooter MMO with an amazing story. What I love most about this game is that they took all of Bungie's mistakes with Destiny, and learned from them.

In this game you actually feel like you're making a difference. You get to build your own base and discover a story THAT EXISTS IN THE GAME - what a concept! The story isn't hidden on a bunch of cards, that you can only access outside of the game, like Destiny.

The Division didn't re-write the story less than a year before launch, or sell original, cut content to customers, and call it DLC, unlike Destiny.

The Division doesn't have microtransactions, period. Unlike Destiny.

The Division has built in matchmaking, and doesn't rely on 3rd party websites just to find a group, unlike Destiny.

This game is a breath of fresh air and everything Destiny isn't. In short, it's good.

The Division doesn't try to be another Destiny, it defines itself in the details and offers a much larger and certainly more interesting world than its obvious contender. No question about it - The Division is much more of an RPG than Destiny will probably ever be without radical overhauls to that game. No question about it - The Division is much more of an RPG than Destiny will probably ever be without radical overhauls to that game. With so much to do from day one, it will take most players weeks or months to max out their characters and, even if they do max out quickly, there's the very competitive Dark Zone where you and your friends can try to fight for more impressive gear. While players might find the story a bit distant for the first several hours of gameplay, knocking out main story missions and engaging in bits of filler story scattered throughout Manhattan will quickly begin to paint a picture. Of course, players that stray a bit might find themselves trying to remember why they're out doing some seemingly-random tasks. The biggest opportunities for improvement lie in The Division's cover system, which usually functions well but has a few quirky glitches now and then that might frustrate you in a moment of combat. Where Destiny wants you to replay every single mission over and over to push forward as a player, The Division is built to be progressed through a story that isn't told through heavy repetitive missions. In fact, you'll never be encouraged to replay a mission unless you found it fun or need to recap what's going on with the story in that specific mission. Otherwise there are always new missions to play through until the very end (level 30 at launch). Graphics are solid, albeit not quite as impressive as they were three years ago when the game launched. This is unfortunate since the Snowdrop engine being used by Ubisoft is very powerful. Though we don't get the greatest visual experience on Xbox One, the visuals are still strong - especially when you consider this is a massive world. Even things like heavy snowfall and fog can play a vital role in visibility in some cases. Perhaps the most encouraging news is that Ubisoft isn't pressing for your hard-earned cash right away. The first few minor DLC packs will be free, with a pair of major DLC expansions that will really stretch the game - all within The Division's first year. Where Destiny is a bumbling mess when it comes to the long-game, The Division is much more strategic and engaging right from the get-go. If you can appreciate the third-person shooter viewpoint and dig open worlds that encourage social engagement then The Division is worth a try. Expand

Ubisoft hasn't built a title like this before, and the inexperience clearly shows – The Division seems to be a victim of its ambitions. The good news is that now, games can be updated, and the flaws in the system aren't so thick that they're beyond repair. With proper attention, Ubisoft could easily pivot the game towards the vision it represents. We can only hope that The Division's long-term story is just beginning.

We have a huge city at our disposal, many hours of fun and possibilities of replaying the game either alone or with friends. The Division has become the best-selling Ubisoft IP in the first 24 hours and we are not surprised, it gives freedom to the players and offers them the opportunity to explore this post-apocaliptic world.
