The Binding of Isaac Rebirth is my go-to game when I want something familiar but new. Detach yourself from the subject matter and it's great dungeon-crawler with lots of replayability.

After I watched my girlfriend play Binding of Isaac for countless hours on her PS4, I decided to give it a go myself and bought it on my Xbox One. You shoot and dodge your way through rooms, trying to beat the challenges and bosses with different characters and setups.

Now, if this game is so awesome, why do I only give it 6 out of 10? It's because while playing it 30+ hours I noticed a great deal of differences in the quality compared to the PS4 version. It has struck me by now that with the amount of bugs - some of them may really screw your run a bit! - the Xbox One version of the game is a case of simply lazy programming, and that is just a big no go, considering that this game has been out for almost a year on PS4 and Steam and the dev has been so cheeky to put it on Xbox for 15 dollars (on Steam it's 10 or less at the moment afaik). This is just not acceptable, seeing how bugs like graphic glitches, bugged enemies and even more bugged hit boxes make your life hard.

I really like this game, this is why I play it on Xbox despite the big issues it still has, 3 months after its release on Xbox ... I'm still waiting for a patch here, but it seems like the dev has better things on their hands than to make a patch to fix the problems at hand. It almost seems like they were just out to make a bit of extra money off Xbox customers and now let the customer care slip a bit.

I can only recommend for anyone interested in playing this game to either get it on PS4 or Steam if you can (since its way more bug free there) or simply wait till the dev issues a patch for this. In the current state that the game is in I simply don't think paying 15 dollars is worth it.

Having played this game already on Steam in its many iterations, I have to say I was disappointed in the Xbox One version, simply because it should have multiplayer (4 players online) but it doesn't. I guess you can still have a person play on your 2nd controller as your familiar, but that doesn't really count.

It's the same good fun game that was on Steam, if you haven't played it, I

It's the same good fun game that was on Steam, if you haven't played it, I would recommend it, for only fifteen dollars.

But no multiplayer....they really didn't do anything to make this any better than it was over a year ago.

Darkly devilish, unique and most of all, fun, revel in it's almost heretical depravity, The Binding of Isaac is available now on the Xbox Store for less than $20.

On the surface this might look like just another pixellated roguelike, but enter the nightmarish rabbit hole and you'll find a mastery of the genre that is relentlessly addictive. [Oct 2015, p.84]
