Once free of the arduous and obnoxious trappings of its main mode of play, Superhot is nothing short of a delight. At its core is a gameplay mechanic that deserves to be revisited, only next time we hope it's all held together significantly better.

Superhot is a very unique take on the first-person shooter genre, and one that deserves attention. Although it's short and has some issues, it's a welcomed addition to the Xbox One's games library.

All of the problems I encountered on Xbox One point to a slightly unoptimized experience. I would’ve tolerated the severe aliasing issues had the controls been tight but I struggled to line up shots at a distance all the time. I experienced none of this on PC.

I wanted to love Superhot more than I did, but its simplistic design and lack of variety really hurt it, even with its short campaign length.

The experience is super concise. Nothing in the main story mode is unnessary or repetitive. Being able to replay the story mode with modifires made it almost a roguelike - you learn the patterns but your build keeps changing. Can't wait for content updates! Full Review »

Superhot is when puzzles meet first person shooters
The concept is simple, time only moves when you move…
The game is split up into small level and takes around 2 hours to complete though there are stipulation challenges and an endless mode where you start in a random are and try to rack up as many kills as possible, unlocked once you beat the story…
you can pick up items in the environment to throw at enemies to knock weapons out of their hands, grab their weapons, shoot and dodge bullets like the matrix master that you are…
towards the end of the game youre even able to switch bodies…
this seemingly over powered ability is balanced by the fact that it forces your targets weapon to break
and once you’ve killed every enemies in a level the game shows a rundown of everything you just did with no pauses showing you just how cool what you just pulled off really was..
The game sounds pretty easy but its not..
Theres a great challenge in targeting the right enemies at the right time making sure youre not going to get shot from behind…
and once you feel like you’ve got it all figured out the game switched it up on you adding harder weapons varieties to deal with
And youre going to die a lot trying to figure out the puzzle that is superhot…
Im not the biggest fan of this level feeling though..
the world doesn’t feel connected and I feel the experience would’ve been way cooler if this were one continuous world with checkpoints instead…
but that’s really my only issue with this game..
the delivery of this game makes it feel pretty cheap and throwaway, when there some addictive frustrating and satisfying moments to be had here
    that asside
SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!
That last bit was a joke…
that you wont get.. until you play the game…
    I give Superhot a 7.5/10

Instead I walked arse backwards into a sci-fi meta-thriller that ended up with me playing through the main story in one sitting and then doing it again a day later just for the fun of it.

At this stage I imagine my friends are sick of hearing about this game because I've recommended it excessively to anyone who will listen to me long enough to get the word "superhot" out of my mouth.

My one criticism of the game is that it feels like more could be done with such a unique concept. I was surprised by how much was done with it in the first place but after playing through it there are some things I felt it was missing even if it just amounted to more weapons in play in the game or a greater variation of environments. (I had one friend suggest the idea of diving from the roof of a skyscraper and eliminating targets on each floor on the way down as your hurtle past windows in slow motion with the end game being you attempting to wipe them all out and then transfer your consciousness to a waiting enemy on the ground below to avoid death).
