More complete and longer than the original Superhot, certainly, but suddenly less intense.

Mind Control Delete reforms Superhot’s signature slow motion power fantasy into the shape of a procedurally generated roguelike. It retains the shiny spartan aesthetic, the bellicose narrative, and the most satisfying first-person shooter gimmick of the last decade, but the twists and tweaks behind its operation don’t alter its basic complexion. Superhot felt euphoric when it was new. Mind Control Delete can only reheat that sensation of extravagance.

Enemies swirl around you in a storm of slow motion violence that moves at your pace. Battle after battle, each fallen foe pushes you closer to the secrets hiding in the game and each secret gives you more powers to fight the system’s defenses. A familiar reflection of what the original game managed to be, but a slew of new threats, demented twists and further reinforcing of smart tactics to compensate for such unpredictability result in Superhot: Mind Control Delete ending up a great addition to the Superhot experience. While the game feels like an extension of it's predecessor rather than a completely new experience that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The things that were great about the 1st game are present while taking the experience to a new level. The game remains unique and keeps from feeling stale throughout. There is a very unusual ending (no spoilers) and the game will not allow you to run through again for 8 hours after completing the experience. There are ways around the 8 hour wait if you look online but I won't go into them here. In summary SUPERHOT has another hit on their hands and this game was offered free to those that purchased the original game on their Xbox One consoles so that was quite a nice gesture and fans of the series can rejoice. If you haven't played the series I strongly suggest checking it out as all is not what t appears to be, you might just be in for quite a great experience as a newcomer to the franchise. Full Review »

Then again it's also entirely unfair that the game at the end forces you to wait 2 hours, leaving the game running all that time. Or that for some console Gamers, they're stuck with eight hours and a pite tially corrupted save. Couldn't leave this review on steam either. As soon as I heard about the ending, uninstalled and refunded. Game developers; We have lives. We pay electricity bills. We might want to play other games after yours. Or do other things with our computer or console. This attempt at being thought provoking is little more than a tone deaf troll.

Worse is that you considered eight hours acceptable. Or 24. And never considered console releases would auto shutdown and corrupt saves. How utterly disconnected from reality must you be? How self absorbed does one have to be when clumsy metatextual **** matters more than remembering the needs of your customers and their systems? So, much as I was looking forward to playing the game, I cannot accept or support such a stupid move. Yes, I could skip the time in game, edit the save file, whatever. Shame your console customers can't. Thoughtless of you wasn't it to not even consider their needs. But frankly, for the disdain and contempt you show for your customers time, you don't deserve my custom, my time or my money.

I will go and enjoy a game that at least respects that customers have lives outside their games. Maybe you should remember that next time rather than making your customers suffer an utterly pretentious and poorly thought out fart that you thought would be deep.
