On the One S (and the OG Xbox One) this game is an unmitigated disaster. Dynamic resolution frequently drops to 540p and it STILL cannot maintain anything close to a stable framerate. This matters more for this game than others because the entire concept of the combat revolves around timing. Timely dodges and parries are mandatory to be successful yet the constant frame rate drops and game freezes fight you every step of the way. On open areas on the planets of Zeffo and Kashyyyk, I would be lucky if I was AVERAGING 20fps during multi-enemy combat.

This ruins boss fights as well. Without spoilers, one boss fight later on Zeffo stands as a prime example. It was a 1v1 fight in a small circular cave with no overwhelming effects or outdoor draw distance to speak of. The boss wasn't terribly difficult, the attacks and timing were easily identified. And yet every time said boss would begin one of the evade attacks -- causing the boss to glow red -- the Xbox One S would inexplicably stutter just long enough to completely throw off the evade timing. The boss wasn't the hardest thing in that fight -- the console's inability to perform was. I tried moving the game from a standard external drive to the internal drive, I tried moving the game to an external SSD drive... neither made any difference and the issue persisted.

If all you have is a base Xbox One S, don't bother. Just don't. You'll spend more time frustrated with frame drops, game stutters, in-action freezing while it loads assets, and horrible resolution than you will with any game mechanic. Just wait until next generation when the game will be backward compatible and can perform decently.

Aside from that, they might as well have called this game “Jedi falls off of everything”. Not once during the entire time you play do you actually feel like a Jedi. Even the most basic storm trooper with a baton will block every attack. They say you were supposed to feel like a Jedi in this game. I feel more like a drunkard with a pool noodle. I finally had to resort to playing on story mode just to try and milk any enjoyment out of this. It is simply way too hard. And it becomes more of a chore and a punishment than anything else. The dark souls style of combat has always been punishing and I don’t see how anyone gets enjoyment out of it. Not to mention, even with lightning fast reflexes, you will still get destroyed.

Parry is a joke. You can have perfect timing and it won’t matter because every other attack from half of the NPC‘s are unblockable. So get used to just getting beaten around. I just don’t understand how they got so much right and managed to completely ruin this game with the combat system in place. All they had to do was make this game fun. But instead they made it feel like detention.

Not to mention, they promised us all these different worlds we could explore, but you end up getting a total of five. Five different levels. Wow. And there aren’t any extra things to do after you beat the game either. You just get to go collect more stuff. I guess they think we all want to replay this mess on a harder difficulty? I would rather slam my fingers in a car door. Not even kidding. In the end, the game has zero replayability. They let you go explore and all that after you beat the story, but you don’t even want to. Because every level in this game feels like a huge chore. No fast travel, mobs respawn at every rest, etc. If they had taken their ability to capture the magic and actually make this an open world adventure with fun combat, this game would’ve been one of the best. Instead, we get this. Oh well. I’ve beaten it and I’m honestly glad I don’t have to play it anymore. Which gives me mixed feelings. Because I really want to keep playing a fun SW game. I really thought this was going to offer more than it did.

Short review: Force Unleashed mixed with 25 % Arkham Asylum combat and 75% Zelda puzzles, the Dark Souls save system, and modern graphics with good cut scenes, Sadly also includes graphical glitches and a bug where the game thinks you haven't downloaded a specific planet and wont let you progress.

The problem is that sometimes the games doesn't really feel like Star Wars, in that, 75% of each planet is made up of Zelda style exploration where you have to solve puzzles. The combat that is in the game is mainly made up of fighting creatures, with Imperial forces tending to be saved for boss fights or key plot points. To top it off the creatures and environment tend to be more deadly than the Imperials in general. On higher difficulties combat melds into a Arkham Asylum style hack and slash, with force powers sometimes having little impact and hence making them mainly for puzzles. Some bosses are even best tackled by running away and then special attacking, rinse, repeat. First thing you will notice on boot up is graphical glitches, which are just about tolerable. I also had a glitch saying I couldn't load planets.

Yes, this is the best modern single player Star Wars game, but it still suffers from being strictly a theme park. Relatively, it's nowhere near as good as Jedi Knight 2 or 3 was for the genre when they were released. The game barrows heavily from Dark Souls, but then one of the greatest Star Wars games (Galaxies) borrowed heavily from Ever Quest, so that is hardly a sin.

It's a good Star Wars game, not the best, but good - the best in modern times, sure.

But is it a good game? Not really. It's just the top end of being okay.

If it were a sandbox I'd give it +1

If it had more original features I'd give it +1

If it felt more like Star Wars all the time I'd give it +1

3 things that would make the game perfect, but 3 big things that the game is lacking.

Sekiro style combat that’s way too loose and unbalanced, getting more and more aggravating as the game progresses. A linear map that forces you to backtrack after you reach your destination, that makes you revisit to explore deeper after unlocking new powers. And a special mention to the bug, oh so many performance bugs (and I’m on X1X), nothing game breaking but bad pop in, loading screens at the worse times, textures constantly loading in at the last second causes a really jarring experience. But, if you are a fan of Star Wars this is a must to play for for the story alone, solid emotional performances just made me want to keep playing. Issues aside, I still recommend playing it, there is a nugget of gold in this turd. Expand

Level design is lazy and repetitive, one of those keep coming back and replaying same level with new ability type of games, to add more hours without actually adding real content to gameplay.
Combat is a dark souls wanna be but it's not implemented well, you have repetitive boring combat against opponents who can deflect ur FORCE poowrrs and shrug off ur melee as easily so it turns into a boring counter hit combat vs them...overall not bad and you'll enjoy it, just play it on gamepass/EA access or get it on a deep sale.

Hopping and jumping from ledges to cliffs and running on the wall and then jumping. It can get really frustrating/boring/annoying at times, because I think there are just too much of it.
One of the most basic Jedi skill, the higher jump/ spin jump call it whatever doesn't even get available until well deep into the game, I'd say 3/4 way and this would be a crucial skill to get, much more important than force push or pull.
Bad camera angles can also be annoying. It's not uncommon to get stuck at a place with the camera is behind and there is a rock wall, and you can't see what you are doing while 3-4 enemies are whacking at you. Sometimes I felt like throwing my controller away and just stop playing this game, because of that.
Also I say, the Jedi powers in this game are just so basic and I don't think I ever felt I was becoming a powerful Jedi, but more like these skills are crucial that I am not gonna get murdered. The main character always feel underpowered when facing the tougher enemies and bosses, it's always just defending and trying to land some lucky shots.
The game is also unfinished. Getting stuff from crates doesn't make much sense, unless you want to change your outfit and the color of your spaceship. It feels so unfinished, it feels like they wanted to have something done with these crate items, but instead they ended up just visual stuff, no impact on gameplay. Why modify my lightsaber with different colors and handles if 99% of the time I can't see it, beside the color of the laser?
Anyway, the game is fun for a while, although it could get boring or annoying, doing the same thing over and over, like the last part of the game, I just wanted to finish it and be done with it already, although I was kinda annoyed by scripted events and pushing the right button at the right time etc..that felt gimmicky and unnecessary. If you're a Star Wars fan, give it a shot, but if you never liked Tomb Raider kinda jumping around and hate dying over and over because falling into cliffs or the boss' pattern needs to be learned first, then I'd say try it out first with a friend' console etc, before throwing $60 at it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game has the recipe to be the best game of 2019, but just falls short. It borrows from Uncharted, Soulsborne, and Metroid Prime games, but doesn’t do anything exceptionally well.

I’ll start with the most important thing, the combat, which it borrows from Soulsborne. At first it’s really fun, but quickly becomes cumbersome later in the game, particularly when you are out up against, 3, 4, 5 and sometimes 6 enemies at a time. You’ll constantly find yourself getting pummeled, unable to attack. You constantly find yourself taking blows, despite the fact you are dodging them.

Exploration is the next element that is heavily borrowed, from the Uncharted games. Uncharted is known for its exploration. In this game, exploration is okay, but there’s not much to really explore. You’ll cling to walls, ropes, and they like, but you’ll find yourself falling to senseless deaths instead of being amazed by the exploration.

Thirdly, the level design, which is heavily borrowed from the Metroid Prime games. The level designs are the most impressive and least shooting offer of the game, but even then the levels don’t hold a candle to the design you see in Metroid Prime, Soulsborne games, and they like.

All in all, rent it, burn through it in a weekend, and move on. There’s not much to do here beyond completing the story. There’s not much customization, and there’s enough skill points to max out every skill in the game, leaving very little reason to carefully think about your character build.

I'm on an XBox One X too... then there is the whole needing to press left trigger to stay hanging on to grated walls or something... and like you stick automatically for a weirdly ling time, then EA has code turn on to check if you are holding L2... like to give you time to do the right combos of controls... but sorry, I'll binge this game at some point, but this game does require you to stop all other games so you get a hang of the more involved controls, with some weird button mapping, compared to like, Force Unleashed 1&2; which I played through both of. I may just not be good at this type of games, but after playing and dying a lot, I had to switch the difficulty gradually to "Story mode" (lowest available), and now the game just does not feel right at all. A lot of technical issues on XBox One X in 4K - very frequent frame drops, visual artefacts, including with lightsaber! The lightsaber looks quite bad when those artifacts pop-in. Certain character models are just horrendous (I cannot decide if she is supposed to be a human or some other race...). The story so far (I am on the second planet) is not captivating and rather lame.

On a positive note, the game has made me want to come back to TOR.

Update (increased the score from 4 to 5): played it more over the weekend. Apparently, my original frustration with game difficulty was due to a bad selection of the second planet to go to. I now play on the second easy difficulty and it feel better, still, you never feel like a true Jedi in this game. New skills help a bit and you can feel the progress, but levels/planets can be quite frustrating. Level design is quite complex and deserves the credit, but the exploration system with hidden areas that are blocked and requires you to go back after you have aquired a new skill/ability feels like it is in place just to make the game feel longer. There is very little incentive to go back through these complex levels and fight some of the creatures again, as the combat is not "entertaining" (could not use the word engaging here, as some will definitely consider it engaging). On the combat, it is awkward and clunky, but could be Xbox controls and the lag.

Press X to kill storm trooper, hold B to deflect all lasers shot at you. The Star Wars universe has rarely felt so empty. Much as the film universe peaked decades ago, the video game universe peaked with KOTOR. I don't know how KOTOR's slow-paced, janky combat system feels more compelling than Fallen Order's; but it does. I think Star Wars has stopped being a foundation for great story-telling, and has become a straight-jacket. Every mission in Titanfall 2 was unique and memorable, whether stalking the canyons to find batteries for BT, wall running through an operating manufactory, leaping back and forth through two timelines, or flying through the air in a massive helicopter chase. Every mission in Fallen Order just feels like a reskinned version of another. Respawn should return to Titanfall and continue to improve and build out that universe. Expand

This game has some serious white-knuckling combat. It often made me furious, but it was exhilirating nonetheless.

But I do feel like they put all their eggs in one basket, because everything else is just kinda okay. The story is pretty awesome with some great motion-capture performances from a relatively small cast of characters. I love having this story that's neatly wedged between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, where the architecture of both trilogies are prevalent. I do think the narrative is pretty frontloaded though and drags by the end. That could be in conjunction with my constant deaths making me grow increasingly impatient, but I also do think the 2nd half of the game has a lot of "go here, now go here, now go back here." All of the best set-pieces are in the beginning, which I would say peaks at the Kashyyk sequence, and after that I was ready for the game to wrap it up. The finale is suitably epic though, and really makes me wish the story could've flourished in between.

I'd say the worst part of this game is how the gameplay commits to being a jack of all trades, and ends up being average in everything. The puzzles are very shallow clones of Zelda and the Arkham games. The parkour mechanics very clearly inspired by Uncharted and the Tomb Raider games, but lacking the excitement and grip that those ones have. Both these elements end up making exploration feel strangely empty, and very rarely do the environments feel naturally designed. Every room feels like the next sequence, rather than discovering an actual world you can believe and desire exploring.

I'd say it's required playing for a Star Wars fan, just seeing how this story fits into the mythos is satisfying enough. But I would say the videogame itself is just average. I'm already not a fan of these Dark Souls combat type games and shoehorning games types that I like didn't enrich the experience at all. And I feel even someone who is a fan of those games has played better versions of it. I mostly enjoyed playing it, but I probably won't ever revisit it again. I'll definitely play the sequel though, as I'm excited to see how they improve it!

Would’ve been nice to have a quick navy option so you do not have to travel the ridiculous maps back and first just to leave. I beat the game in a few days with upper 80% completion, and to be honest, I think I’m just fine with it... it’s just too frustrating to navigate the maps for a missing area for a box with a new poncho design, or worse, nothing... I will say this, I have most of the force skills now, and fighting finally feels fun and not painful. I really liked the main character, but had little care for most of the supporting cast. To be fair, this game is really not my favorite style, I’m more of an open world rpg that you can play for a year, not a week. And most of that week was frustrating not relaxing, why pay money for added stress?! Expand

The entire game is predicated on the parry and dodge system but it’s clunky at best. Your character animations are slow like you’re some big ogre and once you begin an animation, you can’t block or dodge until it’s completed this leads to combat that isn’t dynamic because you have no choice but to just sit and wait for the enemy to attack so you can parry, get a swing in, then stop and wait again. You can’t be fighting with quick twitch movements like in a fighting game because you can’t quickly block incoming attacking while you’re in the middle of swinging your saber. You can’t interrupt your own attacks. What this all means is that so much damage feels unavoidable because you just can’t block in time because you’re stuck in animations. Now throw in a big group of enemies, forget it. You’ll probably either die, or lose a good chunk of health in the process. I’ve been playing video games for the better part of 30yrs and am usually very good at most games and even easy mode was punishingly difficult for this reason. Given the above, and the system of meditating and healing up after each section also seems to suggest they expect you to take a lot of damage. It would not be plausible to go most of a mission with little to no damage. I also think the system of making you lose all of your XP on death then recovering it by attacking the enemy who killed you is aggressive and unnecessary. Expand

This game has some good concepts, a reasonable story and interesting places to visit. It is marred in bad design decisions and poor implementation. Most games have a couple questionable design decisions but this game is riddled with them ultimately having a very negative impact on what could have been a great game.

Let's start with the worst (of many worse) offenders - no fast travel.

Every other game in a semi-open world has fast travel. This is important for several reasons. Firstly it allows you to put things in out of the way places and yet still make it reasonable to expect players to find it (or try). Secondly it allows you to build large areas and quickly move the player back to where they can continue on without wasting their time. Respawn has absolutely no respect for players' time and therefore didn't implement this. In small areas this wouldn't be a big deal but you are spending more time backtracking over and over again through the same areas and enemies that it is an utter waste of your time and an insult to gamers. Don't even try justifying it by saying there are "plot points" that occur sometimes during traversal that you'd miss. Other devs solved this problem a decade ago. In this day and age there is absolutely no reason for not having fast travel in a game of this size. You will end up spending a lot of time having to traverse from the start of a planet to the end even if you really just need to get something in the middle. That is because most planets have areas that you get to and then cannot go back but have to keep going forward. Then you get the pleasure of having to retrace your steps. Even a simple "go back to ship" would have been a step up. This alone causes a major drop in score.

The second (worst) feature is the free running. When it works it works OK but it doesn't work well half the time and the other half it is just buggy. It is clear that dev team didn't implement this properly and the QA team didn't test all the scenarios. I died more times free running because of horrific controls, bad camera angles and bugs than any other place in the game. It is clear they thought it was important but it is like racing game where the steering is off. It is so much a part of the game that being broken is not acceptable. I can't count the # of times where I was sliding down something (a common theme) and had almost no control over where I was going so I slid off, over and over again. And the checkpoints tend to restart you at the top which means you have to keep trying and there is absolutely no way to avoid it once you start. These same areas are where you tended to have to jump gaps, clearly land on the other side but the game decides to either have you fall through the ground and die or have you slide backwards until you fall off. Tomb Raider this isn't. I've played games where free running was a minimal addon that did a better job.

Another area where it is just a bad design is the save system. Checkpoints are often laid out so far (and you have to free run between them) that you tend to lose a lot of progress through no fault of your own. The concept of having to return to an enemy and hit them to get your XP back is not uncommon this day and age but it would have been better tied to difficulty than mandatory. As mentioned earlier, if it was an enemy you could get it back but often it is the insta-death free running. Losing 15+ minutes of effort because of bad design is just not good. Also, having enemies respawn in order to retain your work is just not a good design.

Cal is probably the weakest Jedi I've ever played. He can't even jump over anything above his knees. His force powers are underwhelming and clearly focus on combat but even then he is just weak. His force bar is also small (even late in the game) and you only regain force by attacking people so it is quite easy to get into a tougher fight with a boss and not be able to use any powers because you cannot get close enough to hit them. Again, good concept combined with bad design.

Overall the game had potential and the collectibles (while worthless gamewise) are interesting to find. But Respawn seems to want to punish you for doing anything outside the main story. Finding collectibles or going to areas you may not normally visit often require free running (which is broken) or fighting enemies that are difficult (which means you have to save which resets everybody or risk dying). I don't understand why a dev would create a world and then punish players for wanting to see everything in it.

Let's start with the fact that a lot of times you will be doing things like pull and throw with the force, but there's no aim support, and its increasing frustrating finding yourself trying to aim a lantern through a tiny hole surrounded by water without a any aim to assist.
Also jumping is another big point in the game, and once again, the camera lack that "snap" feature that games such as uncharted have, and you will find yourself falling off cliffs a lot of times.
On that area, navigating the environment is also another pain. The holo map is cool, but can get confusing at times, and unlike uncharted games, there's little to no hints (different color of edges for instance) to aid you on where to go next.

The graphics range from stunning to PS2 era abominations with some baffling choices around character design (cal and cere obviously fell out the ugly tree during their respective births) and the wookies are quite frankly disgusting for a triple A game design. They're like if slenderman and cousin it somehow had babies, rendered in the worst possible way imaginable. They will haunt your nightmares and completely ruin what is otherwise a very nice segment of the game. The story is interesting enough to keep your attention, but the gameplay is often frustrating. You will be falling to your death a lot in this, particularly when sliding down scenery or when you are climbing and your character randomly decides to launch himself off the screen or fall to your doom. The camera frequently moves into terrible positions and I've had a few moments where it has got completely stuck, as if it is caught on a wall. As fun as it is to wield a lightsaber, combat feels clunky and unresponsive. The map is also often frustrating and scenery can interfere with the map view.

That being said, the skill tree and customisation is fun,and there are some great cameos for star wars fans. The little droid is also good fun. The story has its moments and the planets are mostly fun to explore, when you aren't falling to your death.

Overall, I'm a little shocked at the graphics and glitches in a big triple A EA game. For every good moment, there are ten frustrating or glitchy moments. It's a good game but not great. It's almost as if EA didn't think games could exist without loot boxes and so didn't put as much effort into polishing things...

There are some things that feel forced for the sake of gameplay (sliding, cracks, ropes, for example, among other mechanics that felt too convenient). I like that falling to your death is not punishing because it smoothes out some of the more annoying platforming mechanics. The combat being timing based makes it simply too hard if you are not playing on performance mode.

The story line is satisfying and the characters are good. Lightsaber customization was adequate enough, but not as good as KOTOR. KOTOR remains the gold standard of Jedi-based Starwars games, but this is a nice and welcome series in my opinion. I would like to see EA also create a new KOTOR-style game, or something less linear and open world.

The main con I have for this game is how unintuitive much of the games, puzzles, and level designs are. There was a lot of YouTube searching to find out what to do. It was also frustrating to get back to the ship and navigate various maps. Some kind of a waypoint would have been nice.

The combat is really fun on the whole, it's just unfortunate that the lightsaber functions more like a baseball bat when you're fighting stormtroopers - the lack of dismemberment feels off when fighting with a weapon that is supposed to slice limbs off effortlessly. Other than that though, I liked the combat, and there are enough upgrades to your abilities you unlock to keep it interesting. Reflecting blaster bolts feels great, as does using the force.

All told it's a solid game but not a particularly inspired one. I liked the story but it's pretty standard Star Wars, and the gameplay is derivative of a lot of AAA action adventure games. That isn't to say that it's not fun though, because it definitely is. Who doesn't want to be a Jedi?

    - combat. no more button mashing. strategy and technique are needed. awesome.
    - great story
    - nice to finally see a single player game

cons - very short for the price. 18 hrs with almost non existent re-playability
    - no fast travel. can be a major grind going back to get chests
    - very limited customization. Cosmetic only, and basically just color schemes.
    - maps. hard to read when there are multiple levels. no ability to mark objects for later or points

    - an odd obsession with sliding ski slope terrain
    - gross, painful, absurd area loading times

All said, it's a pretty damn good game. But it had the potential to be amazing. take the fight mechanics and graphics, and turn out something like KoToR, and it would be epic. Moral choices, non-linear story, actual customization......add that? hell yeah.

The graphics are good. The battle mechanics are just ok.. should have copied Dark souls 1:1. The Order 66 memories are awesome and the Vader appearance is perfect. Sadly the overall story is only good, if you do not know the Vader Comics. In the comics Vader finds a holocron with a list of force sensitive child's and destroyed it. He didn't want to give the emperor a chance to find another apprentice. So why should he act differently a few years later? For me this is my dissapointment of the year. Even though I have barely played any souls like games the controls felt quite good even If some clunkier parts only became clear to me in the platforming parts and especially the final battle. There were a few minor glitches as at one point I ended up inside the mountains but it meant that I was able to skip a part of the map so it didn't affect me in a bad way.

visually the game looked impressive with immersive maps and planets. I was also a fan of the UI design and the encyclopedia which would increase as you progressed the game and explored more areas. Sadly the load time was a bit annoying especially on things that shouldn't take that long to load.

I was expecting so much more from a Star Wars game that promised to be a mix of Dark Souls and Uncharted. I found the story to be mostly forgettable as well as they playable character Cal. However I think every other character that you meet besides Cal, such as the 2nd Sister and Cere were well written with a lot of depth. Gameplay wise it’s a clunky mess when it comes to traversal and combat does not really hit it’s stride until you progress your abilities and upgrade you’re lightsaber. The biggest problem with it’s level design is the map. Since it’s presented as a 3D hologram it’s difficult to find your objective or even figure outwhich way is the right way to move forward in the level. Then when you’ve completed your objective on a certain level, you have to travel ALL the way back to your ship and figure out which is the best way to head back. Though the biggest problem I had with the game were it’s technical issues. The game crashed multiple times during my play through and I often found myself falling through the map. Overall I thought it nailed the boss fights and hit its marks when it came to the companion characters. However your game might have a problem if a droid (BD-1) is you’re best character. You might want to go back to the drawing board when it comes to developing your protagonist. Jedi Fallen Order was a mixed experience for me as it was great to finally play as a Jedi in a Star Wars game for the first time in years however I think the game could’ve done with a lot more polish before it’s release and could’ve brought more substance to its protagonist. Worth it. The story which is in my opinion the most essential part of a STORY driven single player game was decent, better than the most recent movies that have been put out in any case. The physical gameplay leaves much to be desired, another problem with games these days is the lack of effort it seems is put into basic game mechanics. Bugs aside, when the game runs smoothly it is simply too easy for a lack a better description. The basic mechanics seem dumb down to allow a simple effortless experience which may appeal to some, all but the hardest setting seem just too easy. The hardest setting like many newer games is laughably more difficult than the others, sort of overly overcompensating for the later, not all that enjoyable honestly on the highest setting. Over all a good single player Star Wars game. Expand

The one thing I dislike the most about Jedi fallen order is that there are no side quests which forces you to play in a linear fashion and causing for when your done that you can only continue to explore the worlds and that's it. However the exploration is finite and causes one to eventually just put the game down and never play again unless they want to replay the story mode. Story is semi interesting and not a lot of innovation with mechanics. Graphics were decent. It feels that they were attempting to make an uncharted but just ended up falling all over themselves to do it. Expand

The game looks great but I think the gameplay doesn't really fit in a StarWars game + the animations are not smooth and the normal enemies are way too easy and bosses way too hard.

Although the game is really good, and feels amazing to play, to watch and to enjoy, after playing several times the campaign, i found a lot of problems.

My main problem is the optimization, is quite bad i mean i am not expecting the game to run at 60 fps, but it barely runs, loads slow and just makes me waste a lot of time, and when your game is about repetition, that's a problem.

The story has unskipable cut-scenes, even a really slow paced game like Red Dead Redemption 2 had skip-able cutscenes. I mean the story is pretty good, but not amazing, once i played it i don't want to watch all over again, i just wanna play the game.

The controls are good, the game feels kinda broken, in general i recommend it, but be prepared for slow loading screens and weird textures and fps.

The story is okay, even good given that it's a Star Wars game, and the gameplay is generally fun, but a bit too repetitive. Technical side is fine - nice graphics and just a few glitches (although some of them are quite infuriating).

This game is a platform game disguised as a star wars game. The story is OK but the mechanic is jumping from place to place to complete each level. Boring and repetitive.

    I think that the game is overrated. The gameplay is nice but repetitive, the story is just ok, and the exploration is kind of boring. I put 5 stars mainly because of the start of the game and the end of the game. The inbetween is horrible. Positive things ;

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the best Star Wars games I’ve ever played and one of the best “Soulslike” games out there, surprising as that may sound.

As uneven and unpolished as it is, Fallen Order is still the best game to emerge from EA's stewardship of the Star Wars license, even if that's to damn it with faint praise. [Issue#340, p.98]

Jedi Fallen Order is one of the best games in the Star Wars franchise and one of the best games of 2019. It has some sore spots, but the story, characters, worlds, and combat more than make up for its shortcomings. Fans of Star Wars will love it. Fans of action/adventure games will have a fantastic time. It is great to finally see Respawn branch out and get a chance to craft something they clearly have a passion for. This is not a game to be missed and gives me hope for the future of the series.
