    It's lack of iconic star wars characters really brings this game down and if you've ever wanted to play call of duty in star wars that's basically battlefront 2.

    Has improved, but is still mediocre at best. I don't like how matches feel; the smaller matches like Blast are cool but bare-bones, and the bigger ones like conquest are my least favorite; you run for five minutes to where the battle is and immediately die to a ship or sniper or hero across the map, repeating for 20 mins. The campaign is good though.

    In other EA games like Battlefield, you have a progression system. In Battlefront II, you buy upgrades that instantly make you good at the game. They said that is you used real money, you could get gameplay advantages. You can instantly win a game with upgrades, but if you don't buy them, a bunch of bozos are gonna kill you.

    If you play a ship on keyboard and mouse, it's an absolute nightmare. One thing that you can do is keyboard and mouse on floor, controller in a starship
    Honestly, I don't despise this game. But since it's EA, aka the worst company in America, it's always a bad game

    On note surtout du fan service de bas étage avec nombre de figures jouables du folklore des Star Vases, insérées ici et là dans une campagne qui a pour personnage principal une soldate d’élite de l’Empire malfaisant, une soldate à sale gueule aussi sexy qu’une gardienne de prison parce que les nanas dans les jeux vidéo depuis quelques années, c’est plus ça qu’est ça (comme l’exige la doctrine SJW me too etc).

    Bien entendu et à l’instar des films de chez Disniais, elle va trahir l’Empire et passer du côté des gentils rebelles (pauvres réfugiés blablabla, c’est trop horrible cet Empire du mal trop méchant, espèce de Trump, va !). Oh putain, le spoil que j’ai fait, meeeerde…

    On peut jouer en première ou troisième personne avec des « capacités spéciales » directement héritées du multi à kévins : c’est de fait bien naze ou au mieux anecdotique… ce n’est qu’un gros couloir scripté de toute façon, rapidement chiant comme la pluie qui ferait passer les vieux Halo périmenazes à pious-pious pour des modèles d’action et d’ultra-violence…

    Ils ont même mis des possibilités d’infiltration optionnelle mais qui ne fonctionnent pas du tout. De toute manière, qu’est-ce qu’on se fait chier là-dedans ! et ce malgré des séquences de combat spatial au demeurant mal configurées (le stick droit pour déplacer le vaisseau ? hein, que, quoi ?!).

    Il y a néanmoins un bon point dans tout ce dépotoir à micro-transactions : c’est vraiment très beau et ça tourne plutôt à 60 im/s. Enfin, presque. Mais c’est très beau, cet économiseur d’écran, c’est clair !    … Expand

    I played it with the Xbox game pass Ultimate. My surprise the campaign has a terrible story and is politically correct enforced (Progre) Thank you Disney and EA for ruining this saga created by Lucasfilms.

    Nothing more than a Battlefield with blasters and a LOT of Pay to basics, classic of EA Games, always doing unfunny games that try to force you to pay more and more for basic things, EA is a sh** since Battlefield 4, maybe the exception is Fallen Order, but the same is repetitive.

    Game is broken. Aim reticle moves on its own regardless of which controller settings you use. Trying to lead a target results in the reticle shooting off in the direction your leading towards which makes it impossible to play online. Some searching online reveals this is a common problem and strikes people randomly and worse there's no fix. The developers are aware of the issue and haven'tGame is broken.     I regret that I bought this game for $ 20. For the year, it did not come up with a single update, as promised by EA. Apparently after the cancellation of the Luthboxes, they lost interest in her. Now the game in Russia costs from $ 3. Do not buy.

    Worst Multiplayer experience ever. Do not not buy or you will regret it. Even with the changes the game is unacceptable for new gamers. You are mathced with maxed players and you have no choice but to grind and be slaughtered again and again angainst maxed out players. Even fremium games are mote generous with new players that this ruined greedy game.

    so you head to the slot machines to try your luck.
    you earn a few basic items and then you enter the arena,you destroy the other players in that arena and that feeling makes you think "if i only gambled this little amount and got such items what would i get if i bet 1000$?" so you go back with 1000$ for some spins on the slot machine

    you spin the premium machine a few times and get some next level sh*t,a burst of excitement fills your heart every time the lootbox opens and the adrenaline rush keeps you going in again and again.

    after a few hours and after you bet all of your money in the slot machines you go to the arena where you destroy all of the players and you get ranked #1 every single game for HOURS.
    after a while you decide that you had enough from the casino so you go to the counter and ask "where can i cash out my winnings?" the counter laughs at you and says "well,you can't cash out your items - but you can use them on the next time you visit STAR WARS HOTEL & CASINO"

    you look at him with anger and disbelief,you try to argue with him but to no avail,eventually you leave the casino filled with anger and frustration and you keep asking yourself : "why did they lure me in to this scam by using the name STAR WARS - a franchise that i love to take my hard-earned cash?"    … Expand

I played it for the first time because of the new progression update and it's still a boring **** game I progressed through everything interesting in those 3 weeks and the linear game modes weren't captivating enough to sustainThis game got boring after THREE WEEKS!     They somehow **** up elements from the first game and never bother to fix them. Hero design is improved in some respects but DRASTICALLY ruins some of the best elements from the previous game. Battlefront 2 ea 2017 is both buggier and laggier than the first game as if they wanted to throw even LESS money into this one hoping it would keep their sinking ship afloat. It's almost as if the EA STAR WARS business plan is "use the SW name and spend lots on marketing to implement our core principles here at EA: 'Low cost, High reward' "
    The corporate shlong in this game is very apparent from the tacked on campaign to the horrible communication and BLATANT LIES we were told. I bought the game when it came out and was so excited because it looked very fun in previews and WAS very fun in the beta. It had some glaring issues but I thought they would be overshadowed by the cool maps and fun ships and star wars feeling and the promised CONSTANT UPDATES! What we received is a boring, BUGGY AND LAGGY, repetitive, and unimaginative scam.
    The first EATM StarTM WarsTM BattlefrontTM was at least something I liked to play for stupid fun with some pretty well designed maps and settings that really enhanced the sometimes bland gameplay. You could feel there was a passion there. The originals (2004-05) were and were shaping up (Battlefront 3 and 4) to be one of the most innovative game franchises in the industry. When I saw the cool settings for Battlefront 2 2017, I thought they looked like what I would do with a Star Wars game that had a committee producing it. What I played was pretty entertaining at first but the more I played, the more the absolutely horrible level design, overwhelmingly uninspired aesthetic, and repetitive nature of the gameplay left me so apathetic towards it.
    It's not a horrible game for the most part. Fighting in ships is great. That's about it. Nothing else elevates this experience past it's predecessors and will leave you dissatisfied in almost every manner. The graphics are nice and Darth Maul is fun, 2/10    … Expand

So while all that is going on, you are being killed 1,000,000,000,000,000 more times then the player with the already suped up gear, who probably also has been playing this game longer than you or utilizes their superior money skills to get stronger and better gear than you. So yeah, multiplayer sucks. I can say however that visually it is great, it sounds exactly like a Star Wars game should and although it takes forever to level them up and get all the 'good gear' the amount of classes and characters there are is satisfactory. They did a decent job with the story, I wish it was a little longer and not so repetitive towards the end, but overall I was satisfied with it. Overall, it is an enjoyable game for a short period of time, but I wish I didn't buy the game digitally because I'm almost at the point of never playing it again so it's just going to be collecting a lot of that digital dust. Save your money for whatever other game you were thinking about purchasing.… Expand

    I do gotta say, the campaign was decent but could of had a way better story line and alot longer. Mutli-player is TRASH!!!!! i get it, grind but, why grind for hours on hours on hours on hours on hours!?!?!?!? Im good. Especially when im already paying $60 for the damn game!!!!!

    One of the most disappointing games I’ve ever played. The main problem I have with Star Wars Battlefront 2 isn’t even the loot boxes, its the fact that the game wasn’t even finished. The game was full of bugs and balances issues, it took them nearly a month to even talk about adding map voting, something that wasn’t even added to the original game so it should have been in from the startOne of the most disappointing games I’ve ever played. The main problem I have with Star Wars Battlefront 2 isn’t even the loot boxes, its the fact that the game wasn’t even finished. The game was full of bugs and balances issues, it took them nearly a month to even talk about adding map voting, something that wasn’t even added to the original game so it should have been in from the start here, the campaign starts out fun and really interesting, but that quickly changes and you get a standard shooter campaign, and eventually feels like it was rushed losing most of what made it interesting as you go on, becoming more like a tutorial for the multiplayer than an actual single-player experience. It took a week or two for them to make the servers not an absolute mess, and they still have some problems once in a while. The lootboxes are still a problem even with them currently removed because earning the credits to buy them/unlock the items you want is still a tedious grind that harms the gameplay experience that could have otherwise been pretty good. I also love occasionally running into the people who probably had early access and paid for the lootboxes while they still could because they have fully upgraded kits as both heroes and troop units. There is no reason that the progression system should have been tied to lootboxes, it makes getting what you want a complete gamble, and was obviously done solely because EA couldn’t just stick with the millions they would have earned if Battlefront 2 would have been good, but instead wanted to ride those whales willing to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars into that billion dollar range.

    Honestly I don’t understand why the game was even released like this, oh wait, yeah I do, because it was more important to shove the game out the door before The Last Jedi to ride the hype train. I remember when the original Battlefront 2 came out back in 2005, guess what, the servers worked and the game was pretty damn balanced, because they cared about quality back when then because they couldn’t just patch out all the problems and throw a broken mess on to the market and how people don’t get pissed off before they fix it.

    Disney, if you have any respect for the Star Wars franchise, please, either force your way into making sure the development of these games by EA and make sure they aren’t making a mockery of your cash cow, or if you knew about what they were doing with the lootbox progression system (like a lot of people including myself believe) then shame on you for letting this gambling simulator be sold to children. If the paid currency is really put back in I hope you lose all the money earned from them in government fines.    … Expand

I'm not the best shooter, but in Battlefield 1 I usually scored high because there was a lot I could do to help my team besides win 1-on-1 gun battles. In this game, I feel like cannonfodder for the better players who start with better guns, and then get heroes. The "galactic assault" mode is too linear and choke-point laden compared to something like "conquest" in Battlefield 1. And the rewards you get are mostly based on how long the game lasted, not what you did! I saw a game on You Tube where the Republic took out both MTTs on Kashyyyk, which is impressive, and the payout in credits and experience was low. That's backwards! The single player campaign was short and a disappointment. What has happened to player agency in modern games? The game is also quite buggy.

    I am done with EA. No more EA products for the foreseeable future, no matter how interesting they may seem.    … Expand

Then it was confirmed even single player was blocked because of EA's loot box greed. Then I found out the campaign was only 4 hours. Worse than that the Elite "cannon" solider actually turned to the republic very early in the story.     Let's get this out of the way. I bought this game before I knew about the controversy surrounding it. The game is damn good. I beat the campaign and have sunk over 40 hours into multiplayer. It's good. It's not as imbalanced as people think, but the blatant greed from EA forces me to rate this lower than I want to, and would not have bought it if I had known what they were up to.

And even during the match you dont respawn, you have to wait for a counter or for a group to form. So you will be waaaaiting a lot in this game just for getting shot in the back.     I got stuck in the first two minutes of playing where I couldn't move and had to wait until someone killed me so I could respawn. Aside from bugs, the game just isn't fun. I can't even make it through a full game session. It's just bad. Glad I rented before wasting $60. Nice try EA, but I've been ripped off from you before and knew better this time.

The villains are nonsensical and have no motivation. The new heroes are bland and uninspired. An amateur would be ashamed of this work.

    Combat is so deeply flawed with an progression system that is about out matching your opponents with Star Cards. Since each Star Card has 4 tiers to them, and all characters can have up to 3 Star Cards equipped(or none if you chose so), there are 12 levels of statistical upgrades in a player versus player game. You drop $60-$80 on a game, but you still need to drop a billion dollars for anything else. You get Vader locked, too. WTF. I paid $80 for the game and paid $20 for the stupid microtransactions.     People giving it a 10 saying "The loot boxes are being fixed" is not that they should be fixed, they shouldn't be there at all, this game just feels like Battlefield 1 with star wars skins.

    This game has pay to win written all over it the only way you progress is through loot crates. How you earn credits in this game is such a load of crap for about 30 to 45 min of game play you get about 300 to 385 credits. one crappy loot crate costs 4,000 credits. The campaign sucks beyond belief and they need to bring back Galactic Conquest.

    Though the game might have most of the Star Wars hard candy goodies, the game can only be as much fun as you able to stomach the gross imbalance, bugs, and the in-your-face abuse of consumers via PAY TO WIN lootcrates etc.    This game is an educational tool in gambling and the mentality of the passive abused persona.

    As a casual the need to massive grind to get cards specifically of which I want in my limited time is really **** and stupid. Do yourself a favor and DONT BUY this game if you are a casual player    … Expand

Then I realized that the game sucked ass. My total playing time of the game was about 1.5 hours. I vowed not to touch another Battlefront game. I had already stopped playing EX's Madden.

    Gaming is officially dead (well, almost, once we see Read Dead Redemption microtransactioning around the Old West we'll know for sure.). It was fun while it lasted, but if you want to "play a game" you'll have to buy some old games back when they used to make them.    … Expand

    No just no. I brought the deluxe edition. Wife played and wanted a copy bought her the cheap one we got the same **** i cant level up the classes i like. Im sure the loot boxes give you items for least played characters. ive played yoda 2 times and i keep getting cards for him and his ****ty ship

    Battlefront II is fan service and little else; much respect to the craft, the attention to detail and the wealth of content, but sadly it just isn't enough. It's starting to feel as if Star Wars simply isn't a franchise suitable for this type of sprawling, large-scale multiplayer experience. It doesn't have it in its bones, and if DICE can't find a way to make it work, we're fearful nobody can. [Issue#195, p.72]

    Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will go down as one of the biggest screw ups in video game history. EA and DICE had the easiest job in the world and completely ruined it with the absolutely ridiculous and downright unacceptable progression system for multiplayer. Combine that with the incredibly boring, lazy, and cliche story campaign and you easily have the biggest disappointment of 2017.
