    This is some of the best storytelling in videogames there is but despite all that it does come with it's own flaws and tedious elements that bog the game's pacing.

    For the first 4 chapters of the game i was completely immersed in the world and it's story but once chapter 5 arrived, i began to experience a huge disconnect from the story, thankfully it started to pick it's pace up once again towards the last 3 chapters of the game, unfortunately i cannot say the same about the mission design and structure.

    Playing missions exactly how Rockstar wants you to play them sucks all the fun, and this is one of the worst parts of the game.
    Do anything else but exactly what you're told to? Nope, Mission Failed.
    Attempt to find a creative way to sneak around in a stealth mission? Uh uh, Mission Failed.
    Try to experiment with the game's mechanics and find interesting and fun solutions that make the game more fun? You fool! Mission Failed.

    The linearity of missions becomes repetitive and really frustrating towards the endgame, creative missions become less frequent as you are subjected to shooting segments after shooting segments that it becomes less of a wild west cowboy simulator to a Gears of War/Call of Duty knock-off with broken aiming and a broken cover system that are somehow worst that the original.
    For being an open world game, it's linear mission design does not fit in as one that the world starts to feel more like a backdrop to the story campaign rather than a breathing world.

    The game's dedication to realism becomes it's own detriment, skinning an animal and seeing the attention to detail on the animations is novel at first but after the 30th time it starts to get annoying as you experience the downtime between the animation and gameplay, aspects like this really started to irritate me as the game progressed further and eventually i wasn't playing the game and the game started to play itself for me because it did everything for me, it aims my weapon automatically at the nearest enemy, it steers my horse for me and it stores my weapons on my horse, i'd prefer if the game at least required you to actually do something freely to not make it as repetitive as it is.

    By far the strongest aspect of Red Dead 2 is it's music, the battle themes are filled with action pumping bass and strings, the ambient chill music can make you forget all the tedious parts of the game and just make you focus on the incredible world there is to explore, and all the original songs just don't have a right to slap as hard as they do.

    Despite being all the issues i had Red Dead Redemption 2 stands as one of the best gaming experiences I've had in years, with such remarkable moments and greatly written characters that i can recommend this game to most people who are willing to go through all i've said.

    the game is good but there is one minus: at first the horse impresses with its intellect. but then it infuriates. it constantly dumps you, constantly slows down especially on the rocks. but basically the game is good. I do not recommend it to those who do not appreciate the plot games and sandboxes.

    WOW! Graphics and Story wise ... Perfect! It is the most elaborated storey-line game I ever played. I played this game only because of the review. I am not cowboy style gamer, but this game is great! The only drawback is distances !!!!!!! Geez it takes forever to travel in horses :-)

    Lo he jugado en la Xbox one X y es sencillamente superlativo a nivel técnico ya que tanto los gráficos como el sonido son de otro mundo.

    O jogo já Começa frenético com tiroteio na neve, e você realmente percebe quando um jogo começa com um boa narrativa, diferente de outros jogos só pq tem uma capinha azul. O nível de detalhamento desse jogo e impressionante. da sujeira no rosto do protagonista até a perfeição no movimento dos cavalos. Agora eu entendo pq demorou tanto para lançar esse jogo. I love the music, the shooting, the sheer size of the world, the depth in each character's story, the cutscenes;the game is so beautiful, you can ride for hours through the swamps, the mountains, the cities. You can customize your character, your weapons, hunt and fish, damn you can even lasso by-standers and drag them, drown them in the river (beenRed Dead Redemption 2 is a great game.     I do believe though that the game somehow 'sabotages' itself a little bit - there's so much to do, it becomes cumbersome and it requires a lot of personal commitment if you wish to complete this game. This is true not only about RDR2 in particular, but most open-world games these days.

    Probably the biggest game I have ever played in my life. Everything about it is fantastic and done with great care and detail. History is engaging, the world is alive, animals and artificial intelligence is compelling. Almost perfect!

    If you are a gamer or video game enthusiast you need to know this game and enjoy everything the developer has done.

    Simply the best story i have ever experienced in a game, so well written and sad.

    Looks beautiful and plays great plus i genuinely cared about the characters.

    Online was great fun for a while but is ultimately pretty trash

    The good: beautiful game, a wealth of items and options for which to spend your time.

    The mediocre: the story, voice acting, gameplay were all hit or miss for me. I applaud the undertaking, but it really was like you're watching a C- movie a lot of the time-- cool for a video game, but not necessarily how you were planning on spending your time.

    And now, the bad: There is very little autonomy. Most scenes, even the most epic, are just "press B really fast!" or "let's do a punching match!" (where there is little to no skill involved). You also *must* ride for 5 minutes at a time to get to some of these missions, even though your entire task is "stay near the other character in the story." When doing some random task like shovelling manure or bailing hay, you have to walk. Finally, they do give you a few options to make a decision "kill the guy/spare him," but they are VERY few and far between. Maybe a dozen in 60+ hours of storyline gameplay? I guess I'm spoiled by Skyrim/Breath of the Wild, which were the last two games I played a significant amount of, but I thought this game was very disappointing.    … Expand

It also doesn't help that you spend the first hour of the game slogging through snow, slowing down your refrigerator-carrying character even more. Matters are made even worse when you spend the first four hours doing nothing but tutorial missions. Then the game assigns you boring and monotonous chores to do for your camp. The main storyline missions aren't all that exciting either as the lengths of these missions are often padded by the drawn out time spent traveling miles and miles on horseback. Sure, the scenery is pretty cool to look at once or twice, but by the 10-hour mark I was bored to tears. The missions themselves are ok at best, but there is an unusually high reliance on button prompts in order to perform, or really just watch, your slow character perform a unique action. This ultimately makes the missions feel like slightly interactive vignettes, rather than actual gameplay experiences. Outside of the main missions and the tedious side activities, there's a very limited number of things to do in this world. You can rob a bank, hijack a train, go bounty hunting, play some poker, and hogtie people and throw them off bridges. Unfortunately, once you've done each of these things a few times, the fun is over and there's not much more to do. It also doesn't help that this huge world is so low density and so it is mostly empty, inactive, and unexciting. Ultimately, RDR2 is a boring 1890s life simulator that emphasizes story, presentation, and the slow tedium of frontier life over making a truly fun gameplay experience.… Expand

    I bought this game at a very high price and also had very high expectations. However, I honestly didn't enjoy the game as I thought I would. Everything just seemed soooo slow and until chapter 4 & 5 I wasn't really enjoying myself. It felt like a chore. I felt relief when I finished the game and was very glad I got 90% of the money I bought it for..

    I believe it is overrated.

    I have never liked Rockstar productions. The GTA series is a downright failure in my eyes. RDR2 praised by many friends turned out to be little better. The game is pretty, the storyline moderately interesting, while the gameplay is a tragedy. The game tires me out so much that I play through it piece by piece. I need a week's rest for every hour of play.

    At a beginning it was stunning game for me, i was consumed by its enviroment for 10+ hours, then the engine started to look very familiar, game continues to be more boring and boring. Feeling that there is oportunities for you to interract with AI but when you do, its just meh.

    You can immediately see the handwriting of Rocktar, these guys pay attention to all the smallest details in their games, just as other developers do their projects in a hurry. Psychos, blood, debauchery-this is immediately associated with Rockstar games, I love this game

    Possibly the greatest game I have ever played in my life. It fully immerses you and doesn't let go. So many extras and side missions it will make your head spin. And the world that Rockstar has created is truly something to behold.

    The game It's Freaking amazing, you have a bunch of things to do, and if you are the type of guy that do 100% of all the games that you play, so doing the 100% the game will be a very hard challenge, and if you don't want to play the single player any more, so go on and play the multiplayer it's another thing, you're gonna be feeling like a real outlaw in the old west with your friends,(IThe game It's Freaking amazing, you have a bunch of things to do, and if you are the type of guy that do 100% of all the games that you play, so doing the 100% the game will be a very hard challenge, and if you don't want to play the single player any more, so go on and play the multiplayer it's another thing, you're gonna be feeling like a real outlaw in the old west with your friends,(I recommend you play the PvE mode), and it haves one more story mode on the multiplayer THAT'S JUST AMAZING, so that's my review about the game, PLAY IT… Expand

    This game is a masterpiece. Red Dead has amazing story-telling with a massive open world and great characters. The missions are fun and usually jam packed with action. Being an outlaw is so fun in this game, and exploring places like Saint Denis is really a treat. You get emotionally attached to the characters, and you get mad and sad along with them.     No matter if you are a western fan, after playing this game, you will definitely be one. Great, emotional story (especially the ending that made me literally cry :/), perfect soundtrack, gameplay and graphics. An absolute must-play! And, it's included in game pass, so why not give it a try? 10 outta 10. Thanks for developing such a mind blowing game, R*!

    Story is a 10/10 all day but the multiplayer is no more than a 5. There is nothing to do online and it gets boring fast. Buy this game for the story but skip multiplayer.

    The game looks like absolute garbage on the series s, it's lower than 720p, the Series s is completely capable of Running at 4K 60fps Rockstar keeps getting more and more incompetent by the day.

    The story is also very engaging. There is fantastic voice acting that gives the characters true personality and depth unlike anything I have seen in any other game.

    Graphics are great, the lighting, clouds and weather effects makes for some truly magnificent scenery. I have used the photo mode a lot.

    I'm also very impressed by the wonderful music. It is not the typical western music cliche you might expect, but rather fresh new music with just that hint of western that makes it fit perfect to the game.

    The controls are typical Rockstar. They work just fine for me.

    It may be that there are examples of games with better graphics, better gameplay, etc.. and people feel that this game does not deserve 10/10 because of this. But for me the total package is just so far ahead of anything else I have played. It is deeply enjoyable and the rating cannot be anything else than 10/10.    … Expand

    Best game I have ever played, by far! The character development and story line is sensational. You become so involved in the story and you feel so attached to the characters. Play all the way through and the story line gets 10x better every chapter, trust me.

When you get into the story for the first time, you will notice how impressive the graphics are. The visuals and views from some points are absolutely s running to look at. The Protagonist, Arthur Morgan was introduced in an unfamiliar but really clever way and when I advanced in the story, I felt a strong bond with him. Micah Bell, the Antagonist is quite hatable as a character but he might be one of the most well written characters ever in Games. The story doesn't let you approach missions in a creative way but the game certainly has many unique and cool missions, like flying to a prison with a balloon to rescue John. Other characters like Sadie,John,Dutch,Hosea,Charles and Lenny are memorable. Everything feels alive in the world, but the lack of normal fast travel ( you have to place a camp and then you can normally fast travel ) was not a catastrophe but it should be easier. The ending never felt satisfying for me, but Arthurs Death was executed in a really solid way. It felt different playing as John, but it still was a great Epilogue ans killing Micah and his boys was satisfying. The thing I loved most in the Epilogue is that you could feel Arthurs presence even after his death. The funny things are the early game horse crashes where you literally fly off when you barely brush something at high speed. The Customization in this game is crazy, there are a lot of clothes to buy for Arthur and they are even Temperature Based Outfits, this is honestly great, Hats off to Rockstar! You even have to watch your Weight in this game, it is crazy( in a good way ) ! The Inventory management is good, but I think that it was a bit messy and could have been better. The Gameplay is great and really fits into the Universe of Red Dead but it is a little outdated. And holy smokes this game has an intense amount of detail! The Guns Sound different when in the Mountains and when in the Wild, and there are many more details which are great!

    Verdict: 10/10. A Masterpiece in Storytelling. The Characters are memorable, the world is beautiful and feels alive, the Protagonist and the Antagonist are both really well written and the graphics are absolutely beautiful. The Amount of detail is crazy in this game and the Temperature Based Outfits and Weight too! While the Gameplay might be outdated for some, I was fine with it because it fitted perfectly into the Universe of Red Dead Redemption 2! Its Inventory system is a bit of a mess, but this game is undoubtedly a Masterpiece I recommend to everyone to play!    … Expand

    Excellent game. Map is great (altough there are not so many side quests), stunning graphics, good gameplay, amazing story and one of the best main characters of videogame history. One of those games you've got to play at least once.

    RDR1 was a great game with a protagonist you really connect with. I enjoyed it. TLOU1 was a really great game with two protagonists you really fall for.

    RDR2 is my all-time favourite game, all-time favourite story and all-time favourite protagonist. You feel everything that Arthur Morgan feels, right up to the end of the story. I expected great things from Joel and Ellie in TLOU2. I couldn’t be more let down.

    These two franchises are an example of what happens when you choose story over all else; and of what happens when you choose agenda over story.

    Simplesmente lindo, os gráficos são maravilhosos, até a grama é super detalhada, mapa gigantesco com uma variedade enorme de espécies e plantas para se catalogar ou caçar, a história é linda, chorei em várias partes, as missões secundárias tem muita história, é possível encontrar pessoas desconhecidas e interagir, definitivamente é o jogo mais completo e perfeito que já joguei.

    Probably one of the best open-world games I've played, and with some of the most well-written and well-realized characters to exist in a game of this size. People here seem to be divisive about the linear story, but I prefer it so every story beat can maximize an intended impact as opposed to letting the player "get the good ending." Although it's an RPG, I think it's a telling sign that they crafted Arthur as the protagonist, rather than having you create your own character. You do have control over whether Arthur is a good person or a jerk but the overarching and heartbreakingly inevitable story is more akin to a season of television. The RPG elements are more catered to exploration and progression rather than control over the story. It makes the world, the characters, and every interaction feel spontaneous and lived in. The open-world made the game immersive, but it was the compelling story that kept me caring enough to continue playing.

    My biggest gripe is the controls haven't really improved since the last game. The cover system is clunky and honestly worthless, and I didn't enjoy how much slower the movement feels compared to the first. The game compensates with a plethora of options for weapon and horse management, though I think stowing the rifles on the horse ended up more of an annoyance than a commitment to realism.

    I also felt that the narrative was just a little too long, both the main story and the epilogue that follows. I understand the need to give players their money's worth, but I felt that the amount of side activities and exploration was more than enough to give the players 40+ hours of gameplay. While the story itself never really dropped in quality, I think a sense of impatience grew stronger because of how it cycles the same gameplay, shootout after shootout. There's a great sense of escalation to the main story, but the final chapters tend to drag out the same point. Similarly, it's a joy to discover how expansive the epilogue is, but it feels 4 hours too long and softens the narrative catharsis that had just happened moments before.

    Still an amazing game even if it kind of overstayed its welcome. It's an improvement over all the other Rockstar games for the most part, and I'll still be playing even after all the missions are done.    … Expand

    Enjoyable gameplay and amazing graphics, combined with phenomenal voice acting... definitely worth checking out. The story is compelling, although the invincibility of certain characters (given they appeared in the original) definitely killed the tension in some parts of the story, but overall an amazing game.

    It doesn’t matter if you are gamer, a human being, or an alien from another planet; Red Dead Redemption 2 is a title that you just can’t miss. The bar set by RDR2 is so high that even Rockstar itself will probably have a hard time raising it. One of the best releases in the history of digital entertainment.

    While it has some notable but minor flaws, it's hard to argue that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a masterpiece. The end result of the meticulous detail, wonderful writing and stunning looks is an open world that sets a new bar for believability, and a time and place I can't stop thinking about or wanting to be a part of.
