Sep 15, 2016It combines some of the best elements of Metroid and Mega Man and blends them together seamlessly. Other than camera problems and occasionally excessive load times, ReCore is an exciting experience and one of the Xbox One’s best action games.
-
Sep 12, 2016Despite its technical shortcomings, ReCore’s story, combat and upgrade systems make it a thrilling and enjoyable experience. You won’t want to put the controller down once you start playing and will be a core-grabbing expert by the end.
-
Sep 18, 2016ReCore isn't weighed down with baggage but that might leave it feeling a little thin around the edges.
-
Sep 13, 2016Recore delivers a solid journey filled with fantastic platform design, dynamic battles and lots of exploration.
-
Sep 12, 2016ReCore features the essence of many popular genres and mixes them into a charismatic and promising videogame. Although it needs some polishing for its bugs, it is a really entertaining title.
-
Sep 12, 2016A slick, compelling adventure only let down by a glut of technical issues that really should have been polished out.
-
Sep 12, 2016ReCore leans on some beloved gameplay conventions while injecting some of its own, gloriously unique and fulfilling elements. The RPG layer provides boatloads of additional gameplay and the setting, story and characters are just something I want to see more of.
-
Sep 16, 2016ReCore is a game that is surprising in many ways. First off, with gameplay mechanics that were not advertised, the larger than expected game map, and the RPG elements found within, most will discover that there is quite a bit to do in Far Eden. That being said, the glitches, the long load times, and the uneven pacing of the story towards the end is some cause for concern.

Oct 21, 2016A very interesting start to what could become an amazing franchise, Recore has so many good qualities that it is a great disappointment that it lacks those extra 4-6 months of extra work and polishing which could have made it an instant classic.
-
Sep 16, 2016ReCore feels like the first quarter of a 40-hour game. There’s a lot of fun to be had, but the abrupt end section and its forced side missions just left a bad taste in my mouth. I really, truly love ReCore, but I know I can't possibly give it a higher score than this.
-
Sep 14, 2016Recore is a game that has two great strengths, solid gameplay at the base and art- winning design, which together hold the interest high throughout the course of the adventure . Keiji Inafune and Comcept are improving greatly after Mighty N9, but unfortunately even this time the effort is not enough to make ReCore an exceptional game.
-
Sep 13, 2016There's a good game in ReCore. It's just buried under a bunch of imperfections and horrible loading times.
-
Sep 12, 2016It's a fun title despite its mistakes, but we were looking for something more ambitious.
-
Sep 12, 2016A smart action game with bags of personality and a few unique twists of its own, ReCore is most definitely worth investing in. It's big, sometimes difficult, fairly engrossing, and fun while it lasts.
-
Sep 12, 2016ReCore is the framework of an incredible game with some truly unforgivable technical issues, which greatly deter from the overall experience. You’ll enjoy the challenging platforming, and awesome robotic action…in between aggravatingly long loading screens, and deaths via falling through solid surfaces.

Sep 12, 2016Whatever platform you play this on, ReCore is not a particularly stunning game. This desert isn't glittering with cool particle effects, and while you might expect laser-blasting robots to be smothered in cool lighting or metal-shimmering effects, you won't see those here. Everything from level geometry to texture quality to facial animation looks more like a high-end Xbox 360 game than a proper Xbox One title; the only exception, really, is that draw distances on New Eden stretch pretty far.
-
Oct 18, 2016I began ReCore having a marvelous time. By the end, I had begun to resent it. It wasn’t that I felt rushed; I allowed myself extra days to play. It was just that the game is such a heart-sinker. It was created by people whose work I’ve greatly respected, but ReCore just doesn’t feel ready for all of us to be playing it.
-
Sep 14, 2016Like its robots, whose identities can be transplanted into any number of mechanical bodies, ReCore is an old soul in a new frame. This is a game in a classical mold that’s been shunted into 2016 and forced to assimilate. When left to the traditional sensibilities at its heart, it’s a powerfully refreshing throwback, but that spirit has taken up residence in a modern body so decrepit and covered in ineffectual accessories that its failings dampen the goodwill it earns otherwise.
